Still stand by my older review! Really amazing Chinese food! They have the yummiest pork fried rice and lo mein!! So flavorful and it just keeps us coming back! The owner is so very sweet and knows us very well now and even gives us a special hot oil before we leave with our order. She always goes out of her way to greet us kindly and talk to us, even if there's a line. Her customer service is top tier. The chicken wings are perfectly crispy and fried!!! I haven't tried many Chinese restaurants since I moved here but this has been the best one thus far. I know you're looking at my rating and thinking why 3 stars only... well let me explain. This restaurant is right next to Food Lion I frequent and it's always busy so I thought why not. I ordered the Mongolian beef, general tso's meal, house lo mein and crab Rangoon. Before I could even ask what my total was, I was hung up on. She wasn't rude about it; in fact my husband and I laughed about it for a good 15 minutes. And that was about the same amount of time the food was ready. It was hot and freshly made. The lo mein would've been better except it had a weird burnt taste to it. The general tso's was the best thing we ordered. The chicken was crispy and flavorful with just the right of spice. The Mongolian beef was a disappointment. It would've been great if the beef was a little crispier and the sauce had more flavor. It came with fried rice but we did not enjoy that either as the rice was kind of mushy. The crab Rangoon wasn't crispy but the sauce that came with it was really good! Overall, I would come back for the general tso's meal as we thoroughly enjoyed it! I won't be back to this place. It was okay at best. I was excited to try, due to my craving for Chinese and reading the great reviews. I ordered a large sesame chicken with fried rice, broccoli and an egg roll. I tried the egg roll first, nothing but dough. I couldn't taste any of the insides because it was so doughy. The broccoli was cold mostly, except maybe two pieces. And I'm pretty sure I got the bottom of the batch for the sesame chicken. It was nothing but little fried crunchy pieces tossed in sauce. I think I actually saw maybe 6 pieces of chicken. The rest was nothing but crispy pieces of whatever it's coated with. The only thing I liked about China Garden was my fortune from the cookie. We ordered several dishes and unfortunately the dishes with the fried chicken (general tsao and sesame chicken) were not good at all because the frozen fried chicken pieces they used taste old and are chewy and both were smothered in too much sauce. The broccoli in the broccoli beef was soggy and the beef was gray and chewy. Unfortunately, it's another sub-standard, Concord Chinese take-out. read more

Not recommending this place. Not sanitary. Lunch is a better and deal than dinner for sure. After trying lunch there for a while, decided to drop in for dinner....um wrong choice. Watched an employee serving food after handling brooms without washing hands first. Disgusting. Also observed the same employee washing their ice tea dispenser in the sink where it is supposed to be for washing hands only. Not good. Nothing was good. Wonton soup, broth and wontons no flavor. Sesame chicken bland. General Cho's chicken no spice. Both are just sweet and tough to chew. Rice was bland and grainy. Next day wasn't any better. Usually the spices permeate the food. Nope. Four of us ate this, all agree not good. We usually eat at Fushing but they are closed on Monday so we tried this. We literally drove across town and we were completely let down! We got crab Rangoon which had no crab in it whatsoever and was nothing but dough that was chewy. The egg roll had no flavor and my wife literally threw it up. The sesame chicken wasn't the worst we've had, but the lo mein noodles had a weird taste like it was 2-3 days old! Heck you pay extra for lo mein and I guess they are making straight profit by selling the old stuff. Do yourself a favor and grab McDonald's before ordering from this place. To be honest, I think carryout for dinner on a Saturday was better than eating in for lunch on a weekday. I've had their sweet and sour chicken combo which is just as good as any other place's. Their General's chicken came with HUGE chunks of chicken which I wish were a little smaller. But the fried rice is what earned the place four stars (aside from the service). I'm usually not a fan of fried rice, but theirs is so flavorful and not greasy at all! I could've just eaten it! Also their service is ALWAYS friendly and more than happy to help you, even when they are swamped. I will definitely be back again and likely try other items on the menu. read more

The food was pretty good compared to some other places in our area. This place is a little bit of a drive for us (just for some chinese takeout) and there are plenty of places close by, but this one is worth the drive. The customer service was outstanding and we could tell the owner was working to get our repeated business. He even threw in a free cheese wonton for us to try. I can't have dairy but my partner ate it and loved it. I got the scallion chicken and it was nice and crispy! Partner had chicken and broccoli which was also good. My family orders from here at least once a month, and have for years (it's near our house, so it's very convenient when we don't feel like cooking). It's a great takeout place, and I love their food. There isn't much seating inside (a few booths), but we almost always call in our takeout order, so that isn't usually a problem. The service has always been friendly and reasonably fast. If I had to have a complaint, I'd say that I do wish that they'd deliver, but like I said, the restaurant is reasonably near our house, so it's not that big of a deal having to pick the food up. My particular favorites are the scallion chicken and the beef & broccoli. I also like that they don't care if you want something not spicy, or to substitute out something for something else. Not impressed! I used to goto the China Garden near Afton Ridge and its soooo much better. The fried foods taste like the oil needs to be changed. The egg rolls are the size of spring rolls and all i taste is the roll. The fried rice is fine but not great. I think i'll find another location to order from.
