The food is 5 stars for the area. Golden Tapai in the same shopping center being the only other Asian restaurant nearby that's even worth eating. That said, this place gets a 2 or a 3 at best on service. They just cannot get pick up orders right. If you call it in they'll reread it back to you and still not even come close. If you order through door dash, they'll likely give you the wrong order. This has happened the last 3-4 times in a row and other times prior to that. This isn't really a cute candle lit fancy date night kind of place. I've only actually eaten there once. It's in a strip mall next to a Harris Teeter. There are sit down spots, but it's well-lit and no table side service. The pho is good, the tom yum/kha is great. Pad Thai and other dishes aren't bad, but they can be kind of hit or miss. I do really like the spring rolls though! I'm close by, so we will eat here often, but if I'm in downtown Charlotte, there are better pho spots. read more

GREEN CURRY * The Green Curry was decent, but nothing remarkable. To be fair, my daughter ordered Tofu, which does not add much flavor on its own. PAD KA PRAO * This was the worst imitation of Thai food I have ever had. The sauce tasted like weak beef bouillon and the flavors of basil and garlic were non-existent. The bell pepper chunks were like an 1/8 of a bell pepper, which required cutting up into pieces before you could even take a bite. PAD SEE EW * The Pad See Ew was bland and the sauce lacked the typical Thai elements. A grocery store frozen food option would be much better. I really wanted this to be a great meal because there aren't many Thai options in my area! But, my chicken drunken noodle order was just not up to par. The best way I can describe it is that the small bit of flavor and seasonings that were added...they didn't get cooked into the meal. So, the chicken tasted like unseasoned chicken and the noodles tasted like they were just taken out of the boiling water. Also, the texture of the noodle was quite grainy and fall-apart-like, not that nice springy rice noodle texture that we expect in Thai dishes. Not warm or inviting, no welcome or hello or instructions on how to be served when seated, just someone ready to take your order. For a sit-down order, the food was served with all plastic hardware including forks, spoons, cups and bowls. Even the sides for the pho (a #25 special combination pho) was in a small plastic bag. The food itself was ok. I've had better broth with pho but once again it was not bad just not great. Thai tea was good. I did expect better service and quality of food at least for the price. The rolls were just over stuffed with lettuce two shrimp two leaves of cilantro and a few noodles. We also tried the wings Again! My only gripe is that the pad see ew can sometimes be a lil' dry and they refuse to give extra sauce - even if I pay. So, with leftovers, it's hard to bring it back to life.
