For well over a decade, this has been mine and my family's favorite comfort food. We could always count on quick, quality meals whether dining in or taking out. We place large orders every time we go, always tipping well, as the wait staff were fantastic. Tonight I called and ordered like I always do, and my sister went and picked it up. I noticed the bags and containers were different, portions were much smaller, and most upsetting, the Pink Lady roll I always get had spicy tuna mash in the middle instead of the normal whole salmon (which has always been my absolute favorite). I tasted it, realized what it was, and was disgusted. To me, spicy tuna is inedible, so I took it back to be remade, thinking that it was a simple mistake. Upon arriving, there is a new girl at the counter, and I inform her my roll was made incorrectly. She looked at it and said, "No, that's a Pink Lady." Since I had never seen her before, I assumed she was new and didn't know what she was talking about, so I told her I've been coming here for over 10 years, this isn't a Pink Lady. She then informs me that the menu has changed due to a change in ownership from the old owners to their son. So I glance at the new menu and I'm like oooookkk, so the Pink Lady is different now. Can I have the rolls remade the way I would like them please? She walks back to talk to who, I assume, is the owner, and she comes back saying that they will remake them the old way. So I'm like ok, thank you, just for my clarification, when I call in the future, how do I order to get my favorite roll, as I do not like spicy tuna. She goes back to talk to who I assume is the owner, taking a long time, before returning and saying, "This is how the menu is now, there is no way to make the modifications you want as we do not want to confuse the new sushi chef, he has only been trained on the new menu and there is simply no way to make any modifications." It was in that moment I knew I wouldn't be returning to my favorite restaurant. The interaction was very rude and dismissive and I was not informed of the change of ownership or menu changes when I called to place the order either. I don't know if it's lesser quality ingredients, inexperienced staff, cutting corners, or just the general way customers are treated during this change, but me and many more people I know will not be returning, and I've seen other people reviewing similar unsatisfied experiences. I miss it the way it was, and it's crushing to know it will never be the same. If I were the old owners who had built this into the thriving family business it has always been, I would be disappointed at the current reviews. read more

Under new management Asian Cafe is still a solid restaurant. The staff is friendly and efficient, although they do cover a lot of tables so not always the fastest but not in a bad way. The bar area and side bar seating looks like it will be reopened soon after being shut down in 2020. But the food has stayed as good as from previous owners. The menu has changed to reflect new pricing but I think you'll find your favorites from the past. read more

Great place to pop in real quick, grab a bite, and be on your way. Not only was my deep fried roll crispy, it was still intact and not mushy! We were seated quickly and with great friendliness. The atmosphere is casual and the lighting is what you'd expect. Noise level was a comfortable medium and to our enjoyment, played songs of worship. We went today and will not be returning. They are under new ownership and it's terrible. We ordered our usual dish and it was nothing like it used to be. The chicken was no longer white meat and the vegetables were not fresh. We asked for zucchini and broccoli and they did not put in either. The portions were also smaller and the order took twice as long as usual. This place is no longer what it used to be and it's so disappointing. This was our favorite place! Good quality chicken all white meat. Christian music that we would sing along with. And my grandkids couldn't get enough of the dumplings every trip. But today, no music, the quality of the chicken was lower. My granddaughter took one bite of the dumpling and refused to eat it. Even the ginger dressing was different . Service is still good, but what does that matter if the qualities gone down? Portion sizes are smaller. We went in at lunch and I asked for dinner plate so I'd have extra and I got charged dinner price, but I feel like I had much less food.. It's really sad. I stopped by The Asian Cafe the other day. Upon entry, you'll notice an outdate and weird setup. The bar is directly in front of you and is long. The sitting area for dinner is separated by a wall. The restaurant seemed clean though. You have to order your food first and then you can seat yourself. The food will be brought to you. This was different, but makes sense. For a starter, I ordered the spider roll and mongolian beef for my entree. My hubby ordered the bang bang shrimp. My spider roll was not good. The ingredients seemed stale and old. I was highly disappointed. The mongolian beef did not impress me either. I could not tell if the ingredients were either not fresh or cheap cuts of beef. My rating for the spider roll - 2/5 Mongolian beef - 2/5 Customer service - 5/5 My hubby's rating for the bang bang shrimp - 2/5. Loved in the area for several years but never tried this restaurant. The food is very good. The sushi is fresh and presentation is very nice. Very nice portions. Service is good. This is my go to place for great Chinese food. I have never had a bad experience until yesterday. The portions are so large that my son and I share and still take food home. Yesterday must have been an off day for our waiter. The food came out and it was just warm had to send it back. Had to ask twice for an extra plate/ Had to ask for silverware . Upon entering, you place your order with the cashier, they give you a number, then you seat yourself - your food will be brought to you. I ordered the Luncheon Sushi. You have the option for either 2 or 3 rolls, and I opted for the 3! My total with a drink was $19, but was less than impressed with what was brought to my table. Since moving from California, Ive been on the hunt for a new sushi spot in my new home, and unfortunately this will not be on my list, sushi-wise. They have a TON of other menu options, and I do anticipate coming back for the other menu selections to try. The tuna and salmon in my "fresh" tuna roll and "fresh" salmon roll tasted anything but fresh:( they were warm/room temperature and almost chewy. The taste was "off" so I moved onto the Crunchy Florida Roll. Almost exactly like a regular Crunch Roll, and am unable to describe the difference between the two? The shrimp tasted like it was pre-fried, as it was warm and more chewy than what shrimp normally is. The rolls were overly stuffed with rice. The hubby is a General's or sesame chix guy and the cuts of meat are generous and tender inside. Their bento box offering allows tasting several different menu sections. The owners have changed and they are tight with their money and cleaning supplies. The food is cheap, greasy, and bought frozen in bulk. This used to be a true restaurant with fresh food, plates, silverware, waiters, and the menu was on point. We ordered sweet & sour chicken. When the waitress brought the orders to the table, over half of the plate was fried rice. (That was odd) The rice tasted as if it had been cooked for two days. Dry, smelled, and maybe was the oil was old or the ingredients they had used but for them to add that much to each plate it was like they were trying to get rid of it. * Sweet tea was water. Literally I do not think it was even tea. What was very good! * egg, drop soup was fabulous * steamed vegetables were fabulous * chicken was fabulous However I'm not interested in eating here again. Dropped in here last night about 8:30 PM. Upon entering you are advised to order and pay for your food first and then the server will bring the food. I wasn't delighted about this process but oh well we ordered and sat down. The food was delicious, fresh sushi, and piping hot egg drop soup and wings. The server was nice. They now have a policy for dine in where you can seat yourself and when you're ready to order you have to return to the front, place your order and pay all before getting your food which, BTW is brought to your table.
