I ordered for pickup and have mixed feelings. First, the positives: the ambiance inside is super cool--the dining setup looks perfect for a date night. The service was also a standout; the staff was super nice from the phone order to the counter. The portions were great, and the Berkshire Gyoza appetizer was delicious (no complaints there). Unfortunately, the main entrees missed the mark. The Chashu Don was drowning in sauce, which made the rice completely soggy. I know pickup implies some travel time, but this felt like an issue with the sauce ratio. The pork belly itself was inconsistent--some pieces were soft and delicious, but others weren't the best quality. The Combo Fried Rice was also a letdown; it had barely any protein (maybe 3 pieces of shrimp total) and the flavor just wasn't there. The ambience here is the coolest part of it. If you go with just two people, you might sit on the second or the third little level inside these little octagon pads, which is super cool. That is why we chose to come here. My friend got the Ramen and she absolutely loved it and said it was delicious. I got the Goza and fried rice. The Gyozas themselves were really good, but there was not enough dipping sauce. The fried rice was also good but needed a little bit more sauce on it as well in some way. There was a way outside once we were done. We had gone early to dinner. So seems to be a popular spot. The service was very nice and friendly and very helpful. read more

This is the cutest hidden gem! Let me start by saying my husband and I were instantly transported back to the quaint ramen shops of Tokyo! The decor, tables, use of space, and the aesthetic, all comes together to give you a great authentic experience. The customer service was OUTSTANDING and we enjoyed our dining experience. The shrimp was not our favorite (6/10) and the fried rice blew our mind!! I chose spice level 2. The chashu pork was perfectly seared and tender, adding a nice smoky flavor to the bowl. I also ordered the shrimp lollipop as an appetizer, you can tell came out fresh and hot. Service was awesome. I loved the toppings -- corn, green onions, soft-boiled egg, and seaweed -- they all added a great balance of texture and freshness. The noodles had a nice chew, and the broth was hearty. I've been to Yoshi twice now, and overall I really enjoy it here. Like any spot, I've found a few standouts that I'd happily order again--and a couple I'd skip next time. Starters * Gyoza: -- Perfectly crisp with a flavorful filling. A classic done right. * Shrimp Lollipops: -- A must-order. Super crunchy, packed with flavor, and easily one of my favorites. * Kaki Fry (fried oysters): -- Unfortunately a miss for me. They weren't fresh, carried a strong fishy taste, and left a lingering aftertaste. Ramen * Curry Ramen: -- Bold and hearty, but not my personal go-to. Still worth trying if you like curry flavor. * Tokyo Shoyu: -- A lighter, simpler broth. On the bland side, but approachable for beginners. * Hakata Tonkotsu: -- Rich, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. This is my favorite and my go-to bowl. Rice Bowl * Unagi Don: -- A hearty bowl with tender eel. The unagi-to-rice ratio is a bit off (lots of rice to get through), but still very enjoyable if you're hungry. Customer service is alway great and place is very casual. Family and kid friendly. Overall, I'm really glad Yoshi opened in Fort Mill--it saves me a drive for quality ramen. I returned here with my husband, so he can experience the honeycomb booth dining lol... Well, let me start my saying he absolutely hated the honeycomb booth seating! What was I thinking?? My husband is 6'2"...and he found the booth quite tight and uncomfy. To his credit, it wasn't exactly a comfy experience...but what I had hoped to be a fun one. The honeycomb booths on the top level are quite hot (no A/C up there)...plus no cushion...plus this tilted back. My husband squirmed throughout the meal (see pic lol!). At least he got to experience it for once and for all? Honeycomb booth aside, we loved the foods...as anticipated. My husband tried this Unagi Don...and I just got couple of apps, the Lollipop Shrimp, Garlic Tofu and Pork Belly Buns. Not only were they all delish, they were so nicely presented! Loved the cute Pork Belly Buns Bicycle!! I will say that their drink menu was a bit weak. We both ended up ordered sodas...Green Tea and Ume Soda...which came in cans. A bit disappointed with that. Might have mentioned already, but the place itself is really cute. Not just the honeycomb seating, but love the flowery roof decor! I just wish the place was a bit bigger...more space, more seatings. This is one of the hottest spots in town right now. I always see a line and finally went for my birthday. Lunch time was not as crowded and we were seated right away. We even got to sit in one of the honeycomb seats. The ambience is unique and they really were creative with seating in a small space. It made me feel like I was transported. The menu is largely ramen, but there are other Japanese dishes. I ordered gyoza as an appetizer and the spicy garlic chicken ramen as my main dish. Gyoza were good. My ramen was authentic and I honestly could have gone up in spice. I will say it was extremely garlicky, almost too much for me. So happy we were able to finally try this place! We tried to come here a few times around dinner, but it was busy! They do have a live waitlist which is awesome. We finally made it in during their lunch service and couldn't be happier! Everything was fantastic from the service to the final dish! We started off the night with the Parmesan truffle fries, and they were the perfect portion. Both my boyfriend and I got the miso Ramen and it was soooo crave-able. From the little slice of butter that comes melted in, to the perfectly tenderized chicken, that literally breaks apart with a SPOON! I couldn't have asked for a better dish. We were seated as soon as we walking in on a Saturday afternoon in the honeycomb seats. The seats are cute but if you are looking for something with some back support I would not suggest sitting there. Our server was amazing and checked on us on a regular and we even had help with pouring our left overs. If you have ever tried pouring broth out of a bowl into a container you may know the struggle when it comes to not trying to make a mess. But I can say that this new ramen spot is serving up seriously satisfying bowls that hit all the right notes rich, velvety broths, perfectly chewy noodles, and toppings that feel thoughtful, not forced! We had a really nice time at Yoshi Ramen with friends who had raved about their experience prior. We luckily did the online waitlist as we had heard about the long waits outside the restaurant, so were able to show up not long prior to seating. The waitstaff was really helpful in suggesting some food and providing levels of spice so we knew what we were getting ourselves into. They were very attentive throughout, and filled our waters quickly which was really nice for our friends who ordered level 3 spicy dishes. We ordered the takoyaki to share, and then I ordered the sapporo miso ramen. Both were really delicious, came out quickly, and were large portions! Only downsides were that I wish they offered more drink options for beer or sake, in addition to waters and teas. Additionally, it did feel like we were rushed out at the end of the meal. We barely finished and they essentially pushed us out the door. I get wanting to ensure they can get more customers in, but we likely would have ordered more food or teas - instead we took our outing to another location to extend our evening. Wow! Our family of 4 was so incredibly impressed by our first dining experience at Yoshi Ramen. We decided to give them a try because our teen boys absolutely love ramen, and I saw they had good reviews. The restaurant is super clean, modern, with a cool vibe; but also very casual. Service was attentive and very knowledgeable, providing recommendations that were perfect. We started with the dumplings (steamed) and the truffle fries. Both were incredibly delicious. The fries were HOT in terms of temp and perfect texture and seasoning. For entrees we ordered 2 of the ramen dishes, the shrimp fried rice, shrimp lollipops, and pork belly buns. I visited the week that they opened with family. We were sat immediately but it took about 45 minutes before we saw our first dish come out. I believe they were still working through some kinks and learning to handle the high volume. We ordered three appetizers and four sushi rolls- everything tasted great! This place is de the go to if you're wanting to save a bit of money and don't mind waiting a little bit. I can't attest to the drinks because they didn't have their license at the time. The staff was friendly and overall it was a decent experience. I plan on returning now that they've been open a bit longer. read more

We waited 25 minutes for our table of 2 and were able to sit in the very cool honeycomb area at the very top (which is a great idea to maximize seating!) I got the Lychee Ramune and the Tokyo Shoyu with sweet corn and it was all delicious! Typically, ramen places don't have chicken Shoyu options so I was very happy they had one. Wow what a gem we have here in Fort Mill. I've been twice so far and can't wait to go again - once for dine in and once for carry out. Both times my order was exactly as requested and delicious both times. Last time I had a carry out for 8 and the order was packed perfectly. When I dined in the service was so good I never waited for anything. Seating could be an issue for large parties so call ahead. It's a popular place so expect a wait during peak hours. Theres an online checkin but I think you scan at the restaurant. I'm not sure. I had the spicy garlic the first time, then the Kaaraage curry the second. I have been to Yoshi a few times and each time, the service and food have been excellent. I have tried many dishes such as the fried rice, Korean wings, Takoyaki, shrimp lollipops and ramen. This particular visit we decided on ramen, tea and my daughter wanted truffle fries. The truffle fries weren't anything to write home about but I also wouldn't expect them to be in an Asian restaurant. My daughter had the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and I had the Spicy Garlic Ramen. She said that was her ramen was really good but the spicy garlic is chef's kiss. The broth is on the thicker side, right level of spice and so flavorful. The ramen is so filling and took me until the next day to get through but was even better tasting the next day. I have been thinking about this ramen since and will be going this week. I want to also mention that the service is friendly, consistent and Tyhe staff is super nice. It also does not hurt that this place is super cute. What a gem in Fort Mill. read more

What a gem to have in Ft. Mill. This place is adorable with the honeycomb seating. Very instagram-worthy. The staff is very friendly. The only negative is that they do not estimate the wait time properly. They told us our wait would be 30-40 min. However, we waited over 50 min. They have a nifty process though. You give your phone number and they text you a link to watch your place in line. It keeps track of your wait time and the time of everyone in front of and behind you. We figured we were in a bit of trouble seeing we were #15 on the list and the #1 spot had been waiting 55 min. We came on a Friday at 7pm. There aren't many tables; the place is small. We ordered the pork gyoza as an appetizer. I guess it is entered electronically on her tablet to the kitchen, because I kid you not, as soon as she stepped away from taking our order, the appetizer was on our table. It was very good. My husband got the soy garlic chicken strips for dinner, but wasn't that impressed. It did not come with any side, so in the middle of eating he called the waitress over and asked for white rice to go with it. He complained a bit that Bon Chon's chicken is alot better than Yoshi Ramen because of the flavor of the sauce and crispiness. I got the house spicy garlic pork ramen ($16) @ a spice level #3. Do not do this ! Lol. I pride myself in liking spicy food, but Level 3 was way too spicy for me. I managed to eat half the bowl, but it was a struggle. I told my husband "This is how you build your heat tolerance." Haha. I ordered a bottle of lychee soda ($3.50), which was interesting but didn't taste much different than my husband's can of Sprite ($2.50). We noticed they had soju for $16... have no idea what that is, but it's alcoholic. They had 3 Japanese beers, Blue Moon, Corona and several flavors of tea. They do not offer any dessert, which is a bit disappointing. We ended up getting ice cream nearby somewhere else. I would come back and try the Ramen again at a normal spice level. Our service was amazing, the place was clean and we had no wait when we went. We got the Ramen and the fried Korean style chicken wings with soy garlic sauce. we hoped to share the ramen with our daughter, but they use a lot of black pepper, and she won't eat spicy food yet. The broth, the egg and the meat were cooked perfectly. As far as flavor, I personally prefer Sheng Ramen. This place has the best Ramen in Tega Cay. They were packed on a Monday night but we were able to be seated in the beehive. The waiter was incredibly nice. He gave us enough time to read the menu and checked on us a few times. We received our food very quickly. Everything we had was really good! Tasty ramen with flavorful broth and really tender meat. The chicken in my ramen melted in my mouth. The inside of the restaurant is really fun with the beehive shaped seating on one wall. The stairs are a little steep but it was a fun experience.
