buttermilk thing, orange glaze, choco, plus babies
    Daniel P.

a guy I had lunch with just tested positive for the big 'C' last night so I'm out east looking for a rapid test before work. missed my turn so I pulled into a lot to reverse course and discovered donuts! ...so after getting a good result I decided to come back and get a cup of coffee and some baby donuts for the cutest of chicks (3 each chocolatey and glazed) plus a couple of odd fellows (orange glazed and this buttermilk-boat-thing) for my sister... and maybe a single choco-donut for me because, well, you know... the heart thing :-) coffee was screaming hot and the donut was moist and light and fluffy for cake and I'd like another :-) but the heart thing again :-( hopefully the girls will have consumed the others before I get home tonight.

I was craving some donuts. I've heard of this place in Salisbury. Glad to know I can support my local asian businesses!! So many variety of donuts. I wanted them all. But decided to just get 1/2 dozen. Can't have too much sugar while pregnant. Lol. Also, got the Thai Lemonade. And boy was that delicous! I'll make sure to stop here everytime I'm in Salisbury.

They have doughnuts on deck! You even have creative liberty to custom fill any doughnut. They have everything from donut holes, cream donuts, ice cream, boba tea etc. I always have a pleasurable experience when going. Great and quick customer service with clean interior.

Orange glaze, old fashioned, strawberry butterfly -two thumbs up-

Pretty good selection. It took me a good few minutes to decide which donuts I would buy to see if this bakery was worth a return trip. Everything I got was fresh and flavorful. Nothing worse than biting into a stale donut! I'm looking at you, Dunkin. There's a variety of cute cereal donuts, the usual glaze and sprinkle kinds, bear claws, twists, fritters. Something for everyone. And a personal fav, donuts that have frosting as a filling. For when you need that extra sweet stuff not just on top but inside- could anything be any more gluttonous? This trip I went with old fashioned, strawberry butterfly (this was super good), chocolate glaze and an orange glaze. I'm only in Salisbury sporadically, but I'll make my way here again. It's a quick turn right off of I-85. Lastly, I realized how conditioned I am to paying high prices for 'gourmet' donuts at other establishments. You pick a few items, and next this you know you have to hand over more than just a 20 dollar bill. Deep sigh. I paid a little over $6 for 5 delicious donuts, one of them the size of two. Give this place a shot. Your wallet and tummy will both leave happy.

When I think of Grecian tips I'm thinking of Greek MARINADED beef or pork strips (wish they specified on the menu). At least put a grain of salt and pepper on it. I'm writing this feedback not to bash Palms Cafe but to hopefully get the owner and/or cooks to taste test their food from time to time. I also ordered buffalo wings...tasted like they were cooked with zero love. Heated in an oven or microwave and DRENCHED/SWIMMING in buffalo sauce. Wings should be fried crispy and tossed in the sauce. If anyone think I'm exaggerating go there and order the Grecian tips and buffalo wings and tell me I'm not on point with my review. I would love for the owner to reach out to me for a revisit on these 2 menu items after they revamp them‼

The menu had lots of options to choose from, but it wasn't overwhelming. Our food was delivered to us quickly. I was very impressed with their Greek salad and salmon. My daughter's got a hamburger and chicken nuggets. The fries were great, and they also had an array of homemade cakes. I really regret not getting one. Our waitress was great looked after us and answered all our questions. When I go back to Salisbury, I won't hesitate to come here again.

The inside is very clean and countryfied in their decor, and the people who work here are very friendly and positive people. When you go there and are seated, you feel like you're a regular. It's hard to choose from the menu, because it's huge. The last time I went, I brought my grandson and we both decided right off that we will have breakfast. We are huge breakfast lovers. We chose what we wanted and ordered, our drinks came out and the food followed fast. Everything was perfect. They have some of the absolute best pancakes ever. I should've ordered the short stack (two pancakes) but I ended up ordering the large one by mistake. No worries, it was still fabulous. Lots of pecans and the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. Grandson ordered the meat lovers omelette and said it was the best one he's ever had. There was an almost unbelievable amount of meat in that omelette. I took a small bite and it was very good. We've had other things in the past, their eggs Benedict are superior as well as their hash browns. Before you go, do not neglect the dessert cabinet by the register. They make a fabulous rainbow cake.

I've stopped in a couple of times for a late breakfast. Breakfastime is good, but not the greatest!…read more So far I have consumed the pineapple upside-down pancakes, and the nut and fruit croissant French toast. The pancakes themselves are light and fluffy, while the croissant French toast isn't exactly up to par in my opinion. These are both great themes and are great breakfast treats for once in a while, but I'm looking for more flavor in them! They don't have as much flavor as you would expect. Bacon is good (crunchy and hot), eggs are great (hard scrambled), and the home fries are pretty good, but if you don't like seasoning, don't order them. I would like a bit more of a crunch in those home fries, also. Both times, service has been quick and attentive. When you run out of drink, your server immediately fills it back up (take note other restaurants), and the restaurant itself definitely feels like an old-timer farmhouse restaurant. If you are in Salisbury, this is a great option for breakfast, but I would recommend you also go to Palms for breakfast, or even Marlowe's also.

From a former fan of the Happy Egg until they implemented a so-called credit card fee (something…read morethey had not done last year) after introducing their new menus early in 2026. In speaking with others in the restaurant business, they say included in the menu price is not only their food costs, but also all their overhead costs - including credit card processing fees - so begs the questions, why do some places add a fee for using a credit card? So I did a bit of research, and here is what I found: NC is moving toward tighter regulations A 2025 bill (House Bill 13) proposes: * A 2% cap on surcharges * Mandatory disclosure at the entrance and point of sale * A ban on surcharges if the business only accepts credit cards It hasn't fully passed yet, but it has momentum. If it becomes law, it will standardize what restaurants can charge and how they must disclose it. Check whether the fee applies to all cards If the restaurant charges the same fee for: * debit cards NOTE: Happy Egg, my server told me, charges 4% to use a Debit Card * credit cards * even prepaid cards ...that's a red flag. Why: Debit card processing is much cheaper. Charging the same fee across the board suggests the fee isn't tied to actual processing costs -- it's just extra revenue layered on top of already‑priced‑in costs. Look for "cash discount" language If the receipt says: * "Non‑cash adjustment" (Happy Egg charges 4% to use a credit card) * "Cash discount applied" ...but the menu prices are already high, it often means: * the "cash discount" is just the real price, * and the card price is inflated on top of it. This is one of the most common double‑dip setups. How to spot when a 6. Watch for restaurants that only recently added a fee If you've been going to a place for years and suddenly see: * a new 3-4% fee * with no change in menu prices ...it's very likely they simply added the fee without adjusting their pricing structure. The simplest rule of thumb If a restaurant: * never lowered menu prices, * adds a credit‑card fee, * and charges the same fee for all cards, you're almost certainly seeing double dipping. restaurant is double dipping
