This is a great place that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch. They are always busy. This last time we were told a 10 minute wait but it only turned out to be about three minutes before we were seated. The inside is very clean and countryfied in their decor, and the people who work here are very friendly and positive people. When you go there and are seated, you feel like you're a regular. It's hard to choose from the menu, because it's huge. The last time I went, I brought my grandson and we both decided right off that we will have breakfast. We are huge breakfast lovers. We chose what we wanted and ordered, our drinks came out and the food followed fast. Everything was perfect. They have some of the absolute best pancakes ever. I should've ordered the short stack (two pancakes) but I ended up ordering the large one by mistake. No worries, it was still fabulous. Lots of pecans and the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. Grandson ordered the meat lovers omelette and said it was the best one he's ever had. There was an almost unbelievable amount of meat in that omelette. I took a small bite and it was very good. We've had other things in the past, their eggs Benedict are superior as well as their hash browns. Before you go, do not neglect the dessert cabinet by the register. I've stopped in a couple of times for a late breakfast. Breakfastime is good, but not the greatest! So far I have consumed the pineapple upside-down pancakes, and the nut and fruit croissant French toast. The pancakes themselves are light and fluffy, while the croissant French toast isn't exactly up to par in my opinion. These are both great themes and are great breakfast treats for once in a while, but I'm looking for more flavor in them! They don't have as much flavor as you would expect. Bacon is good (crunchy and hot), eggs are great (hard scrambled), and the home fries are pretty good, but if you don't like seasoning, don't order them. I would like a bit more of a crunch in those home fries, also. Both times, service has been quick and attentive. When you run out of drink, your server immediately fills it back up (take note other restaurants), and the restaurant itself definitely feels like an old-timer farmhouse restaurant. If you are in Salisbury, this is a great option for breakfast, but I would recommend you also go to Palms for breakfast, or even Marlowe's also. read more

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The bananas foster pancakes were to die for (warning you need to have a sweet tooth to enjoy). The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the grits and eggs were fine. The biscuit was a little on the dry side but nothing a little jelly or gravy couldn't fix. My friend said they have great breakfast here, and breakfast is my favorite meal. He had me at livermush! I cannot buy livermush where I live in Florida:( When we walked in, the place reminded me of a brighter, fresher baby cousin to Cracker Barrel. The place was packed, but it was expected on a Sunday morning. Two seats were available at the bar so we just sat there instead of waiting for a table. We sat next to a friendly regular named Ron. While the staff obviously treated him well and already knew his usual order, they treated us with kindness and attentiveness too. Our order was taken in a timely manner. The server was patient with helping my friend get a platter with all the different food options he wanted for the most sensible price. None of the prices were high though. My livermush was cooked with a crunchy outside. Yummy! Iykyk. This is the only way livermush should be served. I made a biscuit with mine. Satisfaction. This place may be in my rotation going forward when I come home. Ron had a toasted croissant I may try next time with my livermush though. We had family in town from Oregon and they really like the Breakfastime near our home in the Hanes Mall area of Winston. Breakfasttime is a tried and true favorite of ours and whenever we have visitors we at least go a minimum of once. This family visit we went to our local Breakfastime, but also discovered when we were exploring areas of our state there is a Breakfastime in Salisbury. When we discovered this our visiting family once again said, "Yes, let's do Breakfastime"! We arrived about 10am. This particular location looks very different from other locations we have visited. It looks similar to an old residence or log home with a huge porch which even allows for outdoor dining. The parking lot is ample and we didn't have a problem finding a place to park. We checked in with the hostess and were told it would be about a 10 minute wait. The lobby area was pretty crowded so my wife inquired if they have a speaker system allowing guests to wait outside on the porch and hear their name called. The hostess confirmed and we proceeded to visit on the porch while we waited a few minutes for our name to be called. We were seated, our drink orders were taken and we were provided menus which appear to be the same offerings as our neighborhood location. We ordered some of our favorite dishes and our server was friendly and efficient. Once again, Breakfastime for the win. It is consistent, yummy and very reasonably priced. read more

I love this place. I stick to my usual favorites, waffles, French toast, hash browns, soup, and sandwiches. The bacon here is cooked between chewy and crispy. I prefer mine crispy and when I ask for it, it's always cooked perfectly for me -- not quite falling apart when you touch it. Everything I have tried is great. The servers are usually attentive and very friendly. The cakes are sitting in a case near the register and are very rich and decadent. You can get a refill of your drink to-go if you're not asked. It can get loud inside at times. I usually come after they first open, during a weekday lunch, or on the weekends after 1:30 to avoid a long wait. They have several locations and I have visited 3 of them. They are all fantastic, consistent, and the service has been excellent at all of them as well. The breakfast is huge. Indifference to customer concerns Most times the table service and food is adequate at the Salisbury location if you sit at a table to eat at that location. BUT my order for pick up was unfulfilled with hit or misss indifference, so that after arriving home discovered my order was incomplete; there were only 4 items and they left out 25% of my order. When I called back and spoke to the person who took my phone order and the manager Ms. Shirley, their remedy was inadequate and should be ridiculed... a) you can come back now and get your missing food item b) in the future we will include that missing item you paid for and we won't charge you for that item you already paid for in your future order with us if you remember to remind us. c) Blaming the Customer: I was told I should have read their non obvious sign at their cash register area, to check your order before leaving. 1) that sign was not obvious for if it was I may have checked, However that sign is an absurd suggestion that I should unbag my order at the pick up desk so that my food loses what ever heat may be still remaining And that I should wait even longer while my food totally loses the totality of its heat while waiting for them to eventually add the food item that they should have already confirmed for a complete order. My concern was met with indifference in tone uttered with perfunctory CYA words. For an eatery whose menu is essentially a "one trick pony" which is "breakfast", one might have thought they should be great at that one trick and be relatively concerned that they dropped the ball and screwed up their one and only trick. read more

Bottom Line: Classic hearty breakfast served by friendly staff. My husband and I stopped at Breakfastime on an early Saturday in May. The exterior, complete with a front porch, reminded me a bit of a Cracker Barrell and I nearly skipped towards the front door to see what awaited me inside. The country décor inside was perfect for a breakfast spot. We were seated nearly immediately and then started to peruse the large menu with all sorts of breakfast favorites on it. The menu has pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. Nothing super fancy but plenty of reliable favorites. I debated Chicken and Waffles or an Avocado Benedict but in the end I got a platter that enabled me to get savory protein and sweet breakfast dessert - scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit and pancakes. It is actually kind of hard to find a breakfast place where I can get both sweet and savory so I appreciated the amble combinations at Breakfastime. Now this is the spot. My wife and I had been driving by here for months and this place is always packed to the brim in the parking lot. We finally decided to check it out. The wait time is easily an hour unless you're here before 9, so prepare for that. I had the Waffle Monte Cristo with collards, which was amazing. While the collards were average, this sandwich had incredible melted cheese and the right amount of sweetener on it. This Waffle Sandwich is hot ham and Turkey, provolone and American cheese, with powdered sugar on a waffle with syrup to dip in. My big takeaway was my wife's plate though. We just finished breakfast at this restaurant. There were 4 of us. Half hour wait which was not a big deal My husband's pancakes came with a long hair in them. Had to beg for refills. Took 15-20 for food and we ate were actually talking while eating maybe 30 minutes when a lady came up to our table and said, we are going to have to ask you to leave now as we need this table. Before we left North Carolina we stopped off at this place for breakfast and I'm so glad we did. The staff is so very friendly, very bubbly and personable I really enjoyed talking to them. The food came out relatively quickly, it was so good. I ordered the Eggwhite omelet with veggies and I believe it was turkey sausage? It came with a side of fruit and toast and it was so filling and fresh and crunchy because of the veggies, it was delicious. I also had a cup of tea which they were very careful about bringing to me. Our group had a lot of fun here, we had a great conversation, the atmosphere is somewhat noisy but it's like a nice hum while you enjoy your food.
