I had not been to this sleepy country town before despite being well-traveled in North Carolina, but I thought this distinctive cafe worth the stop. Offered a vegetarian-friendly menu, I struggled to choose but restrained myself to a salad with imported goat cheese, which was rather delightful. More filling options abounded, and I regretted not getting the New Orleans style red beans and rice, particularly given how hard it is to find that dish vegetarian in New Orleans. The interior had the sort of atmosphere you might find in Bywater or thereabouts, and admitted of more appreciation than I had time to give. There aren't a ton of places you'd find out this way that will offer food that meets special dietary needs either, so unless you're planning on eating in Charlotte this is a good stop.

Even though I pass Salisbury daily on my commute, I never think to stop. Last Sunday I decided to take a minute to explore downtown for lunch. Found this place unfortunately 5 minutes before they closed, but it looked so inviting I made a plan to try again on my drive home at the end of the week. So glad I did. Their menu had several inviting items, but decided to keep it simple with the steak sandwich special. It was was far from simple and well beyond what I was expecting. The steak and onions were grilled perfectly, and the horseradish aioli was an amazing compliment. A huge shout out to the staff. Absolutely gracious and generous. Loved my whole experience and will definitely be back. A perfect excuse to explore more of the downtown area shops.

I spend a lot of time in Salisbury lately and this has been a place I've wanted to try and I'm so glad I finally tried them. The place is a small restaurant that feels so warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding and was so delicious. The people are so nice and welcoming. I love the menu, becuase it has so many options. I have to return to try more amazing things that I saw on the menu this time! It's definitely a 5 star for me.

Great food, great service and cozy atmosphere! We were visiting the area on Sunday so the menu was limited and they close at 2 - but well worth the effort!

While I didn't care for what I ordered, my husband loved their biscuits and gravy, and he is very picky! Their scrambled eggs were very moist and fluffy, but could have used some seasoning. The restaurant is adorable and we'd pop in again!!

Sweet Meadow is a delicious eclectic cafe in downtown Salisbury with fresh farm to table food and awesome service. They offer a lovely patio space and a wonderful Sunday brunch.

Stopped by for lunch with friends and family. Funky little restaurant on a side street with street parking. Inside is bright and open with eclectic art on the walls and around the dining room(s). Wine and beer list offered local product! The menu is a nice array of personal and shareable appetizers, entree salads, soups, sandwiches and dinners. We had the berry brie appetizer, the black bean soup (dill sour cream is a must!), and the vegetable burrito (also available with chicken or shrimp). Served with homemade mango salsa. All dishes were beautifully presented and tasted homemade and wonderful. Definitely would recommend!

Super cute restaurant in downtown Salisbury. Very homey feel. The gentlemen who seated us and checked in on us was absolutely wonderful. He was so kind and really seemed to care about our experience. The lady, not so much but she did her job. We ordered waters, the salmon sandwich w/side salad, tuna sandwich w/ side salad, cheese pizza and side of fruit. The salmon was cooked to a wonderful medium and the ciabatta bread was toasted perfectly. The tuna was okay. There was a bit too much peppercorn. The side salad came with a heap of spring mix, one tomato and one slice of cucumber. The dressing was a bit thick and overpowering-didn't use much of it. Our total was about $45-but, my children were still hungry when we left-they shared the pizza and fruit. There is no kids menu, so keep that in mind. The pizza was $9 and the fruit was $5. The fruit had three pieces of honeydew melon, two pieces of watermelon and grapes. I don't know that I would return just because I have very young children and $26 for two pizzas and fruit (no beverage or dessert) just wouldn't work. I did want to try their brunch menu because I heard it's delicious. But, you should definitely check them out for yourself-maybe just for date night!

What an amazing, cozy, eclectic, inviting, cool, fun and welcoming place this is! The decor, atmosphere, the plates of food we viewed as we waited to be seated, just the overall first minute of our visit was intoxicating to the senses! The menu -Sunday Brunch, Brunch, and cocktail had so many wonderful options to choose from. We decided on a special Bacon Quiche with Brunch Potatoes and fruit and Eggs Benedict with Brunch Potatoes. Nothing special to drink this visit besides a sweet tea (which was on point) and ice water. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned to perfect. Just the right amount of crispness to the fluffiness of the thicker slices. The quiche was flavorful and filling with the smokey bacon, tang of red onion, and bite of the white cheddar. The Eggs Benedict, with the creamy hollandaise mixed into the runny egg brought out some of the flavor from the Canadian bacon making every bite delectably indulgent. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We will return on a Sunday to try more brunch items and on a weeknight to try some of the items other reviewers raved about.

Her Coconut shrimp were cooked that had it been a piece of meat it would be Well Done. There was no sign of coconut on the shrimp. And the dipping sauce wasn't even good. My wings were cooked to death. I was rolling them in the wing sauce to possibly give them some moisture. They were cooked dry I was having to wash each one down with my beverage. As we sat there talking to each other about how disappointed in our meal. I called our youngest son to see if he and his wife had eaten there in a while. And his first remark was we sure have a the quality of the food had gone down in flavor and quality. Not sure if we will get give DJ's another chance or not. Our server, I forget her name, was the epitome of hospitality and service. She anticipated our needs (refills, to go containers etc) - chatted about the history or the restaurant and town - providing suggestions not just for dinner but attractions on our way to our destination. She was just so very cool. The food was great - I opted for Greek Spaghetti. Different than I've had before but enjoyed it all the same. It was like the flavor was liquid or broth form, pooled at the bottom of the dish. Another version I had was dry, like Pesto. Anyway - when I figured out all the goodness was at the bottom of the plate - it was all over from there. Mixed it up a little. Toss in a little crushed red peppers for taste. Then inhaled it all until it was all gone. The al dente noodles. Charred chicken. All just right. The service for me made it an excellent experience. Food was good and I enjoyed it enough that if I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop in - but not before trying other places first. But if I lived in the area, I'd be a regular.

It's hard to choose from the menu, because it's huge. The last time I went, I brought my grandson and we both decided right off that we will have breakfast. We are huge breakfast lovers. We chose what we wanted and ordered, our drinks came out and the food followed fast. Everything was perfect. They have some of the absolute best pancakes ever. I should've ordered the short stack (two pancakes) but I ended up ordering the large one by mistake. No worries, it was still fabulous. Lots of pecans and the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. Grandson ordered the meat lovers omelette and said it was the best one he's ever had. There was an almost unbelievable amount of meat in that omelette. I took a small bite and it was very good. We've had other things in the past, their eggs Benedict are superior as well as their hash browns. Before you go, do not neglect the dessert cabinet by the register. They make a fabulous rainbow cake.

However, this was my daughter's last night visiting us before returning to the West Coast, and we have fond memories of eating at CB during our family travels when she was MUCH younger. We arrived at this location an hour before closing, which I try to avoid with any restaurant. The parking lot was sparse at that hour, so parking wasn't a problem. We were immediately escorted to our table after making our way to the host station. There were still several tables occupied, which made me feel less guilty about our arrival time. Drinks were promptly brought to our table and then we placed our order. Now comes to the one-star deduction explanation. By my phone, at least 30 minutes went by before I asked our server if our food was coming out or did we need to go elsewhere. Up until this time, our server hid in the kitchen. While he appeared geniunely polite, I think he was honestly afraid to ask the kitchen crew what was taking so long. Our server's supervisor came out and apologized for the delay explaining that our order had been lost (our server later told us the order printer ran out of paper and no one seemed to notice). In an effort to make it up to us, the supervisor stated he would take off the priciest meal on our ticket. Within a few minutes, our order did come out and thankfully the food was delicious, which actually was this restaurant's saving grace. I don't normally travel through this area unless headed to the Charlotte airport, so it's unlikely I'll stop again at this CB location. My recommendation though would be to come during busier times of the day when the staff seemed to be more "on point."

And it seems the servers get pressured from management on this and it negatively shows to families with children who come to this location. And if you ask for an extra plate to share all sorts of negative emotions are displayed from servers. This has happened on multiple occasions. With young kids who do not eat much anyway, not sure why this location wants to pick battles with families with kids. All of this doesn't just flow from the servers, it comes from the management/owner(s) who instead of finding a way to balance margins and customer service, they sacrifice customer service for minimal margin gain by directing their staff and probably reprimanding them for these kinds of situations. We have visited multiple other longhorns over the years and this is the only one that displays a noticeable stinginess and negative attitude with extra plates and kid's meal orders. All other longhorns have provided excellent service when we order the same thing at any other longhorn we go to and have no complaints; the Salisbury location however today decided to seemingly cut one of our kids meal steaks in half and serve one steak as two on separate kids meals. Our server today was sweet and very nice until we ordered, then a noticeable shift took place in the tone and atmosphere, and the staff seemed to try and "get back" at us by providing us with the tiniest steaks possible, literally half the size of a normal kid's steak we have ever received in the years we have been going to Longhorn and getting kids meals. With 3 young kids all over 2 years old present; ordering 2 kids meals and an extra plate with our family of 5 should not be met with this kind of disgruntlement from staff. This kind of stinginess flows from the higher ups at this location and it shows. And of all the days to deliver a passive aggressive retaliation on kids meals to my kids, they chose Father's Day. We will not be returning to this location as it is not family friendly. So now, losing customers and revenue over this pettiness doesn't seem so good for the margins anymore does it?
