I had not been to this sleepy country town before despite being well-traveled in North Carolina, but I thought this distinctive cafe worth the stop. Offered a vegetarian-friendly menu, I struggled to choose but restrained myself to a salad with imported goat cheese, which was rather delightful. More filling options abounded, and I regretted not getting the New Orleans style red beans and rice, particularly given how hard it is to find that dish vegetarian in New Orleans. The interior had the sort of atmosphere you might find in Bywater or thereabouts, and admitted of more appreciation than I had time to give. There aren't a ton of places you'd find out this way that will offer food that meets special dietary needs either, so unless you're planning on eating in Charlotte this is a good stop.

Even though I pass Salisbury daily on my commute, I never think to stop. Last Sunday I decided to take a minute to explore downtown for lunch. Found this place unfortunately 5 minutes before they closed, but it looked so inviting I made a plan to try again on my drive home at the end of the week. So glad I did. Their menu had several inviting items, but decided to keep it simple with the steak sandwich special. It was was far from simple and well beyond what I was expecting. The steak and onions were grilled perfectly, and the horseradish aioli was an amazing compliment. A huge shout out to the staff. Absolutely gracious and generous. Loved my whole experience and will definitely be back. A perfect excuse to explore more of the downtown area shops.

While I didn't care for what I ordered, my husband loved their biscuits and gravy, and he is very picky! Their scrambled eggs were very moist and fluffy, but could have used some seasoning. The restaurant is adorable and we'd pop in again!!

I spend a lot of time in Salisbury lately and this has been a place I've wanted to try and I'm so glad I finally tried them. The place is a small restaurant that feels so warm and welcoming. The food is outstanding and was so delicious. The people are so nice and welcoming. I love the menu, becuase it has so many options. I have to return to try more amazing things that I saw on the menu this time! It's definitely a 5 star for me.

Great food, great service and cozy atmosphere! We were visiting the area on Sunday so the menu was limited and they close at 2 - but well worth the effort!

Sweet Meadow is a delicious eclectic cafe in downtown Salisbury with fresh farm to table food and awesome service. They offer a lovely patio space and a wonderful Sunday brunch.

Stopped by for lunch with friends and family. Funky little restaurant on a side street with street parking. Inside is bright and open with eclectic art on the walls and around the dining room(s). Wine and beer list offered local product! The menu is a nice array of personal and shareable appetizers, entree salads, soups, sandwiches and dinners. We had the berry brie appetizer, the black bean soup (dill sour cream is a must!), and the vegetable burrito (also available with chicken or shrimp). Served with homemade mango salsa. All dishes were beautifully presented and tasted homemade and wonderful. Definitely would recommend!

Super cute restaurant in downtown Salisbury. Very homey feel. The gentlemen who seated us and checked in on us was absolutely wonderful. He was so kind and really seemed to care about our experience. The lady, not so much but she did her job. We ordered waters, the salmon sandwich w/side salad, tuna sandwich w/ side salad, cheese pizza and side of fruit. The salmon was cooked to a wonderful medium and the ciabatta bread was toasted perfectly. The tuna was okay. There was a bit too much peppercorn. The side salad came with a heap of spring mix, one tomato and one slice of cucumber. The dressing was a bit thick and overpowering-didn't use much of it. Our total was about $45-but, my children were still hungry when we left-they shared the pizza and fruit. There is no kids menu, so keep that in mind. The pizza was $9 and the fruit was $5. The fruit had three pieces of honeydew melon, two pieces of watermelon and grapes. I don't know that I would return just because I have very young children and $26 for two pizzas and fruit (no beverage or dessert) just wouldn't work. I did want to try their brunch menu because I heard it's delicious. But, you should definitely check them out for yourself-maybe just for date night!

What an amazing, cozy, eclectic, inviting, cool, fun and welcoming place this is! The decor, atmosphere, the plates of food we viewed as we waited to be seated, just the overall first minute of our visit was intoxicating to the senses! The menu -Sunday Brunch, Brunch, and cocktail had so many wonderful options to choose from. We decided on a special Bacon Quiche with Brunch Potatoes and fruit and Eggs Benedict with Brunch Potatoes. Nothing special to drink this visit besides a sweet tea (which was on point) and ice water. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned to perfect. Just the right amount of crispness to the fluffiness of the thicker slices. The quiche was flavorful and filling with the smokey bacon, tang of red onion, and bite of the white cheddar. The Eggs Benedict, with the creamy hollandaise mixed into the runny egg brought out some of the flavor from the Canadian bacon making every bite delectably indulgent. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We will return on a Sunday to try more brunch items and on a weeknight to try some of the items other reviewers raved about.

When I think of Grecian tips I'm thinking of Greek MARINADED beef or pork strips (wish they specified on the menu). At least put a grain of salt and pepper on it. I'm writing this feedback not to bash Palms Cafe but to hopefully get the owner and/or cooks to taste test their food from time to time. I also ordered buffalo wings...tasted like they were cooked with zero love. Heated in an oven or microwave and DRENCHED/SWIMMING in buffalo sauce. Wings should be fried crispy and tossed in the sauce. If anyone think I'm exaggerating go there and order the Grecian tips and buffalo wings and tell me I'm not on point with my review. I would love for the owner to reach out to me for a revisit on these 2 menu items after they revamp them‼

The inside is very clean and countryfied in their decor, and the people who work here are very friendly and positive people. When you go there and are seated, you feel like you're a regular. It's hard to choose from the menu, because it's huge. The last time I went, I brought my grandson and we both decided right off that we will have breakfast. We are huge breakfast lovers. We chose what we wanted and ordered, our drinks came out and the food followed fast. Everything was perfect. They have some of the absolute best pancakes ever. I should've ordered the short stack (two pancakes) but I ended up ordering the large one by mistake. No worries, it was still fabulous. Lots of pecans and the fluffiest pancakes I've ever had. Grandson ordered the meat lovers omelette and said it was the best one he's ever had. There was an almost unbelievable amount of meat in that omelette. I took a small bite and it was very good. We've had other things in the past, their eggs Benedict are superior as well as their hash browns. Before you go, do not neglect the dessert cabinet by the register. They make a fabulous rainbow cake.

Breakfastime is good, but not the greatest!…read more So far I have consumed the pineapple upside-down pancakes, and the nut and fruit croissant French toast. The pancakes themselves are light and fluffy, while the croissant French toast isn't exactly up to par in my opinion. These are both great themes and are great breakfast treats for once in a while, but I'm looking for more flavor in them! They don't have as much flavor as you would expect. Bacon is good (crunchy and hot), eggs are great (hard scrambled), and the home fries are pretty good, but if you don't like seasoning, don't order them. I would like a bit more of a crunch in those home fries, also. Both times, service has been quick and attentive. When you run out of drink, your server immediately fills it back up (take note other restaurants), and the restaurant itself definitely feels like an old-timer farmhouse restaurant. If you are in Salisbury, this is a great option for breakfast, but I would recommend you also go to Palms for breakfast, or even Marlowe's also.

From a former fan of the Happy Egg until they implemented a so-called credit card fee (something…read morethey had not done last year) after introducing their new menus early in 2026. In speaking with others in the restaurant business, they say included in the menu price is not only their food costs, but also all their overhead costs - including credit card processing fees - so begs the questions, why do some places add a fee for using a credit card? So I did a bit of research, and here is what I found: NC is moving toward tighter regulations A 2025 bill (House Bill 13) proposes: * A 2% cap on surcharges * Mandatory disclosure at the entrance and point of sale * A ban on surcharges if the business only accepts credit cards It hasn't fully passed yet, but it has momentum. If it becomes law, it will standardize what restaurants can charge and how they must disclose it. Check whether the fee applies to all cards If the restaurant charges the same fee for: * debit cards NOTE: Happy Egg, my server told me, charges 4% to use a Debit Card * credit cards * even prepaid cards ...that's a red flag. Why: Debit card processing is much cheaper. Charging the same fee across the board suggests the fee isn't tied to actual processing costs -- it's just extra revenue layered on top of already‑priced‑in costs. Look for "cash discount" language If the receipt says: * "Non‑cash adjustment" (Happy Egg charges 4% to use a credit card) * "Cash discount applied" ...but the menu prices are already high, it often means: * the "cash discount" is just the real price, * and the card price is inflated on top of it. This is one of the most common double‑dip setups. How to spot when a 6. Watch for restaurants that only recently added a fee If you've been going to a place for years and suddenly see: * a new 3-4% fee * with no change in menu prices ...it's very likely they simply added the fee without adjusting their pricing structure. The simplest rule of thumb If a restaurant: * never lowered menu prices, * adds a credit‑card fee, * and charges the same fee for all cards, you're almost certainly seeing double dipping. restaurant is double dipping
