Kaitlyn also came out and made sure we had what we needed, and was very attentive. It's always a treat when Chef Huber comes out and talks with us. The really cool thing about Recipe is you almost ALWAYS will bump into someone you know. Tonight we bumped into my best friend from College (WAY BACK TO THE 1980s) and another person that I work with on an ongoing basis. So the 'social connection' is a great vibe here. I got their sandwich special, the Buffalo Soldier. It was chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, and ranch on ciabatta. I made it a combo with chips and a soda. With tip I think the total was around $17. That was a touch more expensive than I was expecting especially with just a bag of chips on the side. The sandwich was good. Between the blue cheese and the ranch it was really creamy and most of the toppings slide off with the second bite. I don't mind a mess though! The ciabatta bread was the perfect compliment for the sandwich. It was a cute spot and I especially liked the creative sandwich names. I'd go back and try the chicken ceasar wrap next time.

Their crust is thin and light, but still sturdy enough to hold all your toppings. Crisp on the bottom, soft inside, it's truly wonderful. While you can get a single pizza as a carry out order the buffet is where its at. Any given hour there are eight or so different pizzas up on the line, but they're never sitting long enough to get cold. They usually get eaten pretty quickly, especially around lunch time, but there is always an eagle eyed employee keeping track of whats out there and communicating with the kitchen. During the day they are nearly constantly making fresh pies of all varieties. Something you want and don't see it out there? Just ask! They will be happy to make a specific type of pizza for you and have it out in a flash. They cut the slices on the small side so you can try out more options, or maybe just feel better about how many you've had! This place isn't fancy, isn't modern, it's just really yummy! The staff is polite and the food is delicious. They do one thing here and they do it very, very well. Absolutely worth a visit.

We then had the muffuletta and tuna salad sandwiches as our entrees. We've both ordered these in the past and loved them so much we have not strayed to try other items yet. Fried Okra - B+ - They're definitely breading and frying it themselves is the plus, but a bit bland on its own. Was really good in the ranch. Broccoli salad - B+ - A little runny, but overall quite enjoyable and a solid change up to the hearty sides. Corn pudding - A- - Excellent flavor, truly, but very runny. That said, it didn't both us much, just use a spoon! Hush puppies - C - The only thing that didn't stand out, and honestly, that's OK. In the future, we will both opt for cornbread because it was just so so good, that the pupps could not compete. All in all. This was a 6 star experience. The prices would be considered high if they were not so generous with their portions on everything, and if the food were not this tasty. We had enough left over for a 2nd meal (and even re-heated, everything was great).
