This is definitely not a handicapped friendly place. We explained my husband was in a wheelchair paralyzed and we needed a low table and were told EXACTLY THIS, well you're out of we don't have have none and walked away You shouldn't leave a patron feeling inadequate because you failed to operate for ALL people , capable and handicapable. While walking around downtown Salisbury, I was craving aome seafood. Ran across this restaurant and immediately craved some oysters. Walked in around 4pmish and didnt have to wait for seating. Our waitress was super friendly and efficient. Ordered the crabdip and we honestly wernt much of a fan. Tastes like tuna and didnt really taste any "crab" which was a bummer foe the pricing. Now the oysters were delicious. With some hot sauce, salt, cocktail sauce, theh tasted delicious! Also ordered the fish tacos and you get such a great portion goe the price. All delicious and definitely would recommend if you are in the area. read more

We stopped in for lunch after a meeting in Salisbury NC. Wow, what a great little gem! The food was fresh and flavorful. The service was personable and the food came out fast. The shrimp and oyster basket was large enough to share; the portions are very large. I think it's pretty cool that they put a "southern" spin on the seafood! This was our first time eating here. We've tried to dine in multiple times but they were super busy and the wait was long. That's gotta say something right? We ordered the Low Country Boil and hushpuppies. It was good, but a little plain. Even with Old Bay and Lemon Pepper, it wasn't very flavorful. It wasn't a traditional boil... Not quite as messy if you like that kinda thing. Potatoes were cut up, and the corn wasn't seasoned. The shrimp were huge and the kielbasa was good. Overall it was a good option if you don't wanna get your hands dirty... but we prefer messy low country boils lol. Drinks were good... the live music was amazing!! I don't know the girls name but she made it awesome. Atmosphere is loud even without the music... just a heads up for people who get overstimulated easy or don't like a lot of noise when you're eating. BUT it is an oyster bar sooooo that's just how it is lol. read more

Located in cute, quaint downtown Salisbury, Shuckin' Shack is a great spot for seafood lovers--but also offers some solid options for those that don't partake. With numerous steamed & fried options on the menu, I opted for the calabash shrimp & oysters and was not at all disappointed. Fresh seafood, perfectly seasoned, & expertly prepared--with Old Bay included among the table condiments for added flavor--a total win in my book! The Pineapple Jalapeño Mule that I selected from their signature cocktail list was an excellent accompaniment--bright & refreshing with just the right touch of spice. Local favorite, there was a waiting list at night but the crowd move fast. Menu items are plenty, you can get seafood, burgers and wings. Of course majority of people got seafood which is what it is known for. They have a lot of customers so seafood inventory is not old. if you choose the steam options, some other restaurants might serve you old and chewy clams/mussels/shrimps. Fried items are ok, bonus is their dipping sauce. Service is excellent, waitress come by and check on us all the time. They need to change the oil for their wings, I can see and taste that it is getting old. Crab legs are not in season so don't get the crab legs, it looks so skinny like a pencil. Shuckin shack in Salisbury - who knew you could get so much seafood in the middle of the triad! So many options from crab, to scallops, oysters and more. We happened to walk by this place and had to try it out! It's vibe reminds you of a coastal beach bar with colorful decor and a long bar. Their staff was super helpful and kind but the service left a little to be desired. We ordered a dozen of their grilled oysters and unfortunately they forgot to put them in but they were super kind and had them come out quickly after they realized. The oysters themselves were a great price and came from VA. The toppings added a nice flavor bonus but if you prefer the taste of oysters these toppings may be too much as the bacon and cheese over power the oysters. This was our first time here and overall it was good. It was a busy day and they seemed to be somewhat short staffed, this could have affected the food quality. It is branded as a seafood restaurant but feels more like a sports bars inside. It's hard to find good seafood in this area of NC, not near the coast, and it was decent. We ordered the charbroiled oysters which didn't have much flavor and were covered in cheese. We will most likely try it again when in Salisbury but will order something different. read more

A hidden gem. Every table was filled, the waitresses were understaffed, however, they were so attentive, respectful, professional, and making the absolute best of being incredibly busy. The draft beer selection is great. The fried pickles were spears - interesting take on them, they were good! The charred oysters were delicious. I'm giving this 5 starts because I absolutely love eating here. The food is so good and so plentiful that I basically roll out of the place. With that said, this is definitely a shack type of seafood restaurant and if that isn't your type of place you will not find what you're looking for here. A major chunk of the menu is fried and the bar is busy and they have great drinks. If you like that sort of thing you can almost feel the sand on the floor and the beach just out the back door. It's exactly the type of place you might expect to walk off the beach and grab a meal while nursing a sunburn. read more

Before my last visit, I would 100% rate 5 stars. However, my last visit was such a bummer. I always get the Greggah (lobster roll) and crab dip to start off. Our appetizer took a very long time to come out, and they changed the bread. (I know I know, the world is understaffed) However, the biggest disappointment was my lobster roll. I used to get 2, that's how delicious they were! This visit, there was no flavor, and they changed the delicious rolls to hot dog buns. For it to be $20, I was disappointed. (Looked yummy though) Of course, I'll be back, but I might need to find a new favorite on the menu. read more

Second time eating here and please know that all in our party are "southern" fish and seafood eaters, so we all order battered and fried dishes. I had the cod with FF, slaw and a side of hush puppies which were very good. My friend had flounder and it was great as well. The flounder was torn a little from the removing from the pan process and the chef insisted on sending out a better looking piece. Because of that, I was able partake in the flounder as well. I do believe it had a little better taste than the cod. Several people in our party got fried oysters and they were small and overcooked. I've never had anything other than fried menu items so I can't weigh in on other menu items. It does get very busy around 5:30, so get there early or be prepared for a wait. There's live music, but we're usually leaving as they are setting up. read more

GREAT little place in downtown Salisbury. On this Thursday night, the place was packed by 5:45pm, so we sat at the bar. I had a fabulous Moscow Mule while waiting for my absolutely delicious side salad. My only suggestion would be to have a Little more dressing for it. I don't like a lot of dressing, but this was definitely not enough. Then opted for a pound of snow crab legs. They were served piping hot and were delicious. However, if you want some thing to accompany the crab legs, you must order it separately, as all that comes with the crab legs is melted butter and a lemon wedge. My husband also had a pound of crab legs and the seafood boil and he ate every bit of both! All in all, a great experience! read more

I was in town looking for lunch and most of the seafood choices don't open until 3-4pm so I decided to give this place a first try. I was skeptical b/c as I approached on foot, there was a very long line at the hot dog joint right next door. My fear jumped even more when I looked inside the screen door and noticed the place was nearly empty at 1300 on a Friday! It's normally a bad sigh when u have a very long line stretching down the block and an empty place right next door. But alas, I was pleasantly surprised!! This place looks like a hole in the wall but it was really great; very much the small town wonder!! The service was great, the food, delicious, and the price very reasonable. I had the grilled shrimp quesadillas with nachos. The quesadilla was chock full of hot, juicy shrimp and cheese filling; everything was fresh and good.
