This was our first time and what a bad experience! The weight staff was working very hard to try to keep up. But our main issue was with the condition we received our food in. My steak was so burnt that when I showed it to the waitress she said oh my, I put it in for medium rare. I showed the picture that I'm including in this review to the lady at the front and she only apologized. She didn't offer to make it right, to reduce our bill, or not even charge us for the steak that we couldn't eat!! The picture of this steak was even worse in person, but nobody seemed to care, including the cashier who seemed to be in charge! All they seemed interested to do was to get people in and out whether what they were paying for was edible or not they just didn't care! I wish that somebody with authority and who cared would reach out and try to make this right!! This is not the way to do business! Especially when an issue like this is brought to your attention!! They should've done everything they could to try to make it right and I gave her at least three opportunities to do that, but she didn't!!! read more

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have higher reviews. My husband and I were out shopping and decided to stop in here to eat at the recommendation of our son. We pulled in and noticed the outside of the building needed a little painting but not a big deal at all. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and seated. Our server came over and got our drink order almost as soon as we sat down. When he came back with our drinks he brought a bowl of hush puppies to us to munch on. I ordered the combination platter with deviled crab, jumbo shrimp and oysters. My husband got the combination platter with salt and pepper catfish and oysters. We both got a side salad as well. As we waited on our food we looked around and the place was very clean and decorated as you expect a seafood restaurant to be decorated. The food was delicious and our server was super attentive. The only thing I didn't like was the coleslaw. It had a vinegar taste to it that I just didn't like. When we went to pay the ladies behind the counter couldn't have been any nicer. If you like seafood this is the place! The food is fabulous. Endless hush puppies that are so good! I have tried just about every fish plate they have and all of them were spot on! On 5/21/25 went to order a shrimp plate asked if we could do half broiled and half fried.. it was no problem in the past. Take out person over the phone .. was abrupt and said no. Ok.. fine . I'm a Sous chef.. I get it. But.. if you are going to talk smack about a customer.. make sure you hang up. She admit instead of asking if it could be done... she just told us no. I wish I could give a negative review. We went there last night for supper. Everything started off wrong with our rude waitress by the name of Madalinn she had the personality of a brick wasn't attentive whatsoever like she could really care less what you needed. Other waitresses may feel the same way, but at least they don't act like it and it's not obvious. Then we ordered our food. It came out absolutely terrible. I ordered the Alaska white fish and stuffed clam. It came out with one puny, shriveled up half burnt piece of Alaska whitefish that was absolutely edible and the stuffed clam tasted like it was off a.k.a. gone rancid. We probably never go back there. I wouldn't care this place shut down the rest of our parties. Food was no better. Everyone complained. We didn't say anything to our worthless waitress because it wouldn't have done any good so we'll just never patronize. This business again. That's a damn shame!!!! read more

We decided to give this place a try. Little disappointed in the food. To me it's not cooked enough , I like it good and chrispy. Love their hush puppy they give you. I guess everyone make shrimp cocktail different but never seen it like they serve it. It was served on a big piece of lettuce and small shrimp pilled on and that was it. Usually it comes in a big glass type container and shrimp mixed with cocktail sauce and sometimes a type of garnish on the side. But we did eat it. Hubby fish wasn't cooked all the way. Anybody going to Oceanview Seafood on Hwy 8 in Lexington, NC BEWARE! This is what we were served and the manager wanted us to bring it back so he can see it. The problem with that is we live in Thomasville. We got food on the way home. This pic is not as bad as the real thing and the smell is awful. Now, tell me how is it going to smell tomorrow? My friend bit into it before she smelled it and about got sick. The manager acted so clueless and stated that he took it out of the freezer himself. How many of you would eat this? How many of you would get upset because the manager offered no solution but bring it back? How many of you would call the health department and report them? I am very upset because the fish was rotten and the shrimp still had the shells on all of them. It used to be a good restaurant but it is going down hill. BEWARE! I am not really hard to please but don't mess with my food or my money and don't try mess with my intelligence. Reginald Sally is going to take this back and I hope that manager gains some sense by then. My advice is STAY AWAY from the Oceanview Seafood!!! read more

I found the food at Ocean View very good. The portions were a good size. Everything was hot and fresh. I feel the price was fair in relationship to the quality of the food.The only problem was that the door threshold at take out was very high and obviously non-ADA compliant so I could not enter to pay and pick up my order. Fortunately another take-out customer took my credit card to The counter and paid for the order and then returned the receipt and food to me. read more

My husband and I were driving through Lexington on our way home from visiting Seagrove for the day and decided to try something different than BBQ. We chose Ocean View Seafood. We had cajun grilled flounder and lightly fried oysters. Both were excellent! The flounder was fresh with just the right amount of seasoning. The oysters were prepared perfectly and they were huge! This was the best seafood we have had anywhere in our area! And, the staff is friendly. Our waitress checked back with all her tables frequently. The Seafood at Ocean View is decent altho I found mine a little salty. The quality & prep is above average to average. The quantity is good & prices are reasonable. We went about an hour before closing-- not many customers and we didn't have a good Server (never came back with beverage refill; didn't bring condiments for Sweet Potato; didn't ever check on us; didn't offer Tea to go) but one of the other Servers jumped in to take care of us. read more

Home town style seafood as one would expect. The waitress was super nice and took care of me. They give everyone a bowl of piping hot hush puppies which are pretty standard but still quite tasty. I had a salad with jumbo Cajun shrimp and it was very good. The Thursday popcorn shrimp plate for $7 looked pretty good too. read more

Ocean View food was great except for the oyster stew, my wife said it was bland and not much taste, the crab legs I received were good size and plentiful. The waitress was very prompt and paid attention to our needs and very quick. My only fault was when I asked if they gave a Veterans discount and the answer was no, I thought I had received the discount on prior visits but might be mistaking. Service didn't even deserve a 1 star! Worst experience with seafood ever! Shrimp was cold and rubbery. Slaw was bitter tasting. Hush puppies were stale. Even the waitress was not on her job had to ask for refills and silverware! And to top it off they didn't want to make it right! When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was on break.
