Sandy at Second St Sundries went above and beyond to set up a last minute bridal brunch for my future sister in law over the weekend! She created this beautiful spread for us in their semi-private dining room and the food was really great. They serve a full Starbucks menu and it was truly an amazing kick off to wedding weekend. I can't thank her enough, go check it out!

Loveeeed this place! My first visit was yesterday with my mom and two of my children. The food was absolutely wonderful! I got a margherita flatbread, my mom got the chicken fajita bowl, and my kiddos got a cheese flatbread to share. All of the food was delicious. I even got my husband a buffalo chicken flatbread to take home to him. He loved it!! Said we have to go back soon! I'm from this area but currently live in Kannapolis but I'm coming to eat at this place as often as I can. The coffee I got was awesome too!! I also really appreciate the work this place does for autism. It's so special and should be commended for sure. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Came in for a late lunch after they were suggested by a local. Love the decor-very warm and inviting. They serve Starbucks coffee and make all the specialty drinks. Wi Fi is free. My chicken fajita quesadilla was tasty but messy. They put the salsa in the shell and not enough cheese to adequately hold it together. A little more cheese and salsa on the side would be perfect. Very nicely organized with friendly staff. Steady stream of customers for 2-3 PM. They are also open for breakfast. UPDATE I've been back several times this week (from out of State), I've enjoyed their Starbucks Latte several times and their fresh brewed iced tea. Today I stopped for breakfast and had a Farmer's Market Panini. They use a specific brand of flatbread(Sandellas) and I'm just not crazy about it. It's thin but tough and chewy. I see the locals ordering it and it seems very popular. Ingredients are fresh and tasty but still very little cheese. I had a Morning Glory muffin with coffee the other day and it was out of this world moist and delicious! I really like the look and feel of this place. Staff is friendly and service is quick. They have a large Conference Room for meetings, outside tables, comfy seating area, a gift shop, vegetarian menu options and a gluten free chocolate cookie that looks really good. I haven't found a menu favorite yet but would come back and try something else without hesitation. They would easily be 5 stars with some menu tweaks.

I have come to love taking a quick lunch break and heading down the block to Second Street Sundries! They have an amazing staff and their food is always great! I like to get the Chicken Fajita Bowl. The flatbread that it's served in is always super yummy & they have super filling portions!

Love the atmosphere and the food is great! The Starbucks coffee is better than the Starbucks shop on 24/27.

Would definitely recommend. The Tuscan turkey wrap was delicious and the wait was minimal. I will be going back.

We were down by Lake Tillery on a job so this was within a reasonable distance. Love the layout and decor in the restaurant. Oh, we picked a shareable for the table and spinach artichoke dip, which was a good choice to split between three people. We still have plenty of our workday left so I opted to go with the grilled salmon and a rather unique side in Mexican street corn.. for my second side I decided to add a house salad with homemade ranch dressing. The salad was a large portion to start with in the flavor of the Mexican corn in the salmon went well together. I made a great choice. The Mexican corn was three short corn on the cobs in a long dish with sauce on top of the corn. Public house is definitely the place to be in Albert mall for lunch dinner or a private event.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.

I'm actually writing this review while still sitting at the table at Scallywags tonight, which…read moreshould probably say something about how disappointing the experience has been. We came here with friends tonight, and I was genuinely excited to try the place. When we were seated, the woman who sat us was very nice and explained that they had just gotten a few large parties in, so it might be a little while before our waitress could get to us. We completely understood. My husband specifically asked her, "Is it okay if I go order our first round at the bar while we wait?" She told him yes. He went to the bar, and when bartender Lillie got to him, he explained that we were seated at a table. She refused to serve him and told him he had to order through our waitress. That alone would have been fine--clearly there was a communication issue between employees. What was NOT fine was what happened next. As my husband walked away, Lillie proceeded to make the comment, "We aren't doing that tonight," to other customers sitting at the bar, essentially talking about him to other patrons as he walked away. That was completely unnecessary and unprofessional. He didn't argue with her, give her an attitude, or demand to be served. He simply did exactly what another employee had just told him he was allowed to do. If employees aren't on the same page about how drinks are being handled on a busy night, that's an internal communication issue--not a reason to make comments about a customer to other customers. Eventually, we received a cocktail menu and ordered drinks through our waitress, Alley. About five minutes later, she came back and told us they were out of peach schnapps and therefore couldn't make the drinks we ordered. Looking at the cocktail menu, being out of that one ingredient appears to eliminate almost the entire specialty cocktail menu except for about three drinks. I completely understand running out of an ingredient, especially on a busy Saturday night. What I don't understand is not offering an alternative. A good bartender should be able to recommend something similar or say, "We're out of peach schnapps, but I can substitute something and make you something close." Instead, it was simply that they couldn't make the drinks. I was actually looking at tonight's food special and fully intended to order it. At this point, though, I don't want to add another potential disappointment to the evening. So while our friends eat, I'm sitting here drinking water and writing this review instead. We came in excited, we were patient and understanding about them being busy, and we weren't demanding anything unreasonable. Running out of an ingredient happens. Being busy happens. Employees misunderstanding each other happens. What shouldn't happen is a bartender making comments about a customer to other customers after he walks away--especially when that customer was simply following the instructions another employee had just given him. A little communication, hospitality, and professionalism would have completely changed this experience. Unfortunately, at this point in the evening, I've lost enough confidence in the experience that I don't even want to order dinner.

And after about 45 minutes. We finally had our drinks. While we were ordering the waitress just gave attitude looks to one in our party because they were asking for a configuration of wings that they did not do. So instead of just saying "the policy is this way" she just got everyone confused. We had asked for some house chips and that they not be cooked too crispy. After a while she brought them back to us, two pans- one crispy and one almost raw, floating in grease and said "This is the best we can do" with attitude. We couldn't eat this and had had had it with this waitress because of the attitude and also because people who were seated after us by this point were already eating and about to leave and we just got our chips. So we took the chips to the bar to show the person up there and ask to speak with a manager. The manager fill in came to our table, he was a cook but was filling in because the manager was not there. As I was trying to explain it to him, she came up, butted in, was arguing with me, the customer, about what had happened. I had began very calmly explaining to this guy our experience but when she came in with MORE attitude, I had to remind her to check herself. She was way over the line inappropriately talking to a customer the way she was. I mean yall, look at these chips in the pic- who would eat this? At this point we'd herb there way over an hour AND HALF and still NO WINGS. We decided to just go pay for those floppy raw potatoes and our drinks and leave. I won't be back and if you guys get this Abby (I think- heavyset, dark haired) waitress that says she's been there longer than everyone else, my advice is to change tables.
