Just, WOW! I was in town for a cycling event and happened on this sundries shop for breakfast. Go for a morning coffee and veggie quiche, but stay for the service. The cashier (perhaps the owner) was so encouraging and supportive as I was obviously about to go on a bike ride and my server was so sweet. The eating area is exceptionally clean and very inviting. I could sit in a relaxing chair catching up on morning news while watching others sharing quiet conversations around the rest of the restaurant. The food is delicious the service is quick and friendly. I had an American omelette panini for breakfast one morning. I also purchased a hummus wrap, side salad and donuts for my daughter and her friend for lunch. Everything was delicious. The store is clean and spacious. Fresh and tasty. Ordered the sweet and spicy chicken wrap. It was more sweet than spicy but had a great flavor. Other party ordered the Tuscan Wrap and said it was really good. People behind counter weee friendly and willing to help fist timers. Looks like they promote opportunities for autism, which is admirable. read more

She created this beautiful spread for us in their semi-private dining room and the food was really great. They serve a full Starbucks menu and it was truly an amazing kick off to wedding weekend. Everything we had there was fresh. The place is clean and the service was great. Food was very good.

Loveeeed this place! My first visit was yesterday with my mom and two of my children. The food was absolutely wonderful! I got a margherita flatbread, my mom got the chicken fajita bowl, and my kiddos got a cheese flatbread to share. All of the food was delicious. I even got my husband a buffalo chicken flatbread to take home to him. He loved it!! Said we have to go back soon! I'm from this area but currently live in Kannapolis but I'm coming to eat at this place as often as I can. The coffee I got was awesome too!! I also really appreciate the work this place does for autism. It's so special and should be commended for sure. I would give 10 stars if I could. read more

Came in for a late lunch after they were suggested by a local. Love the decor-very warm and inviting. They serve Starbucks coffee and make all the specialty drinks. Wi Fi is free. My chicken fajita quesadilla was tasty but messy. They put the salsa in the shell and not enough cheese to adequately hold it together. A little more cheese and salsa on the side would be perfect. Very nicely organized with friendly staff. Steady stream of customers for 2-3 PM. They are also open for breakfast. UPDATE I've been back several times this week (from out of State), I've enjoyed their Starbucks Latte several times and their fresh brewed iced tea. Today I stopped for breakfast and had a Farmer's Market Panini. They use a specific brand of flatbread(Sandellas) and I'm just not crazy about it. It's thin but tough and chewy. I see the locals ordering it and it seems very popular. Ingredients are fresh and tasty but still very little cheese. I had a Morning Glory muffin with coffee the other day and it was out of this world moist and delicious! I really like the look and feel of this place. Staff is friendly and service is quick. They have a large Conference Room for meetings, outside tables, comfy seating area, a gift shop, vegetarian menu options and a gluten free chocolate cookie that looks really good. I haven't found a menu favorite yet but would come back and try something else without hesitation. They would easily be 5 stars with some menu tweaks. read more

Visited with my boss during a mediation at a nearby law firm. No offense, but did not expect to find such a good place in Albemarle. Food was excellent. Had a burrito and it was delicious and very filling. Atmosphere was open, airy, fun. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Prices were not bad at all. Tried this place for the first time. Ordered a Tuscan chicken panini. The chicken was very dry and tasteless. The only taste I found was from the sun dried tomatoes sparsely throughout. The panini did come out piping hot which was nice. Also ordered a turkey "blt" on flat bread. That was good with a bowl of loaded baked potato soup. Will try one more time and try something else. read more

Second Street Sundries was filling up fast at lunch today. Service is kinda slow but maybe they're getting the new-restaurant kinks worked out. Could use two registers humming to speed stuff up. THESE people today will wait a while for their order. Getting here at 1100 was ideal. Starbucks Coffee served. I had the Chicken Burrito which was pretty nice. Coffee was hot and fresh. On the menu are breakfast paninis, grilled flat breads, a couple each of quesadillas, burritos, wraps, rice bowls and salads. Might need to flush out that menu when things get dialed in. Four stars given in anticipation of this nice environment smoothing out the early slow service. Albemarle could always use more decent eatery options downtown. read more

Manager was very unpleasant. I ordered a drink that all the ingredients were in stock. The guy making the drink was confused because it was ordered under a discontinued drink, but it was a Cinnamon Dulce Frappe with almond milk. The manager comes up and tells me they can't make it and "just because I can bring it up on my phone doesn't mean they can do it!" She was very snarky and rude. The coffee turned out great, he did an amazing job and the girl taking my order was quiet but sweet. I wouldn't recommend coming here if she's working because that attitude was enough to make you loose an appetite. read more

Perfect place for a quick lunch.... had the flatbread (buffalo chicken) & it was huge (and good). Husband's quesadilla was also large - I didn't taste it but he liked it.... Love that they serve Pepsi :) :) Can make your meals a combo with a side salad, so that's a plus. It is counter service, not table service. We didn't realize that.
