There was no obvious notice when you entered, and didn't realize it until it was time to pay, when I noticed a small sign near the cash register. In today's world, where most restaurants accept cards or mobile payments, it would be helpful if this policy were posted more prominently at the entrance or mentioned before ordering. Overall, I can understand why it's a familiar spot for many locals, but based on my experience, it didn't offer anything that set it apart from an average breakfast diner.
