The inside feels like (or is?) part counter restaurant and part antiques store. I knew I had come for a hot dog and the folks behind the counter were patient while I decided on a side item, ultimately settling on onion rings. I hung out until they handed me a paper bag with my order. I had parked right out front so I didn't have far to go to enjoy my lunch. Everything (especially the onion rings) was really hot. The footlong was really good. The dog itself might have been fried and it was great to see pretty full coverage across the full dog. Onion rings were pretty greasy, as evidenced by the dark spot soaking through the paper bag. They were tasty though. I did go back in to ask for an extra couple ketchup packets. If I'm in the area, I'd return to Goody Shop cafe and try some of their other offerings.

The person on the other end of the phone said no problem. I asked how much the order would be. She said $20 something. To which I reiterated that I was only ordering the patties. She replied that she had to charge me for 3 burgers. To which I replied that I would have to cancel the order as I cannot afford to spend over $20 on lunch when I can go to Wendys and get 3 patties for 7or 8 dollars. Then she said that I should just go to Wendys and get those patties and disconnected the call. I was expecting to spend more than what it would cost me at Wendys but not over 2x as much. Then the rudeness to top it off. Disappointing... I had heard such good things about their food...

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.

Decent local spot if you're looking for a casual pub-style meal, but nothing really stood out…read moreduring our visit. The menu offers the typical pub fare with a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers, though there wasn't anything particularly unique. The service was friendly, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, the French dip sandwich was underwhelming. The bread tasted stale and had a rubbery texture, making it difficult to enjoy. The roast beef was acceptable, but the sandwich lacked the flavor and freshness you would expect, and the au jus didn't add much to elevate it. Overall, the experience was average. It's not a bad place to grab a quick bite, but based on this visit, I wouldn't specifically return for the French dip.
