Food and service was great!!!! The fried tenderloin for breakfast is amazing!!! The waitress' treat you like you are family!!!

Burgers were not impressive at all. Waitress never came back to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything. Ranch tasted like tarter sauce (or cheap bottled walmart ranch). Another guy near us said that the ketchup didn't taste good at all. And to top it off, when paying the cashier asked if everything was good. My mom (who was paying) nicely said "not really" and the cashier NEVER acknowledged it! $20 down the drain for 2 lousy burgers, fries, onion rings (which also wasnt good), and 2 teas. Omelet had ample ingredients, good flavor. Fried potato cubes were excellent . Service was very slow. Took a long time to get our eggs. Yet she brought out the pancake 5 mins earlier! Poor timing for something as easy as pancakes and eggs! Ice tea tasted d. Changed to soda. Had to get own drink refill as server didn't come back for quite a while. read more

We were in town for a work trip and stopped in off a recommendation from someone. This was hands down such a cute restaurant and place to eat. The food was amazing, the staff was so friendly and nice and the service was exceptional. If you have time to stop in and try this place out give it a try. The food was also super cheap! read more

Nice little family restaurant in Denton. Visited after grandkid's softball game at South Davidson. We had a lot of the team and families....about 20 or so....and they accommodated us very well. The food was good(homemade pimento cheese was on point)! Pretty extensive menu with a lot of options. read more

Denton may be a small town but they have a hidden gem. The Village has fresh home style cooking at very reasonable prices. I don not hesitate to say that we are already making plans to go back. Flounder outstanding Ribeye hoagie outstanding Side dishes we tried: potato babies outstanding Vegetable beef soup beyond outstanding Baked apples outstanding Fried potatoes outstanding Creamed potatoes with brown gravy outstanding I think you get the drift Sweet Tea was on point Smaller parking lot but could do on street if needed There is a super cute public park across the street to let the kids blow off some steam after filling their tanks. Terrible food. Not worth complaining because it comes out bad over and over. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for breakfast.

This is a small town favorite. Expect some home cookin' here with a smile. I come into Denton once a year for the pirate invasion. My crew camps out near by and Village Restaurant is within walking distance so we usually make several trips there. Expect anything from burgers to fried catfish. And plenty of sides to choose from. And the best part is the low prices. Breakfast is also good with breakfast plates, waffles and sandwiches. Our friends brought us takeout one night. I had the chicken salad sandwich and onion rings. It had plenty of chicken, just enough mayo and relish on grilled sandwich bread. The onion rings were huge and in a thick batter. It hit the spot. We ate in for breakfast and I got a coffee, bacon and egg croissant and hasbrowns. Everything was delicious. Staff is extremely friendly and attentive. And the food comes out fast which was important since we were always on a time crunch. The inside is older and has some wear, but It's cozy. I didn't get the chance to take photos. I was told this was the best place in town. That definitely wasn't a lie. Great food, great service, smiling faces and very fair pricing. Home cooked food that's made to order so don't expect fast food service at a country cooking restaurant. I've been here several times now and always try something new and I haven't been let down yet. this restaurant is terrible. took a long time waiting on our food. when we did get our food it was Luke warm at best. the burgers are large and very dry , no flavor. you would think it would be better than it was because of all the people there. but this is Denton NC, people with no taste buds and not a whole lot of choices as far as restaurants. I am a food snob for sure, because I know quality and taste in other restaurants. they should shut this place down. or replace the cooks! yuck !! read more

Came through town for business , found this restaurant on yelp . Read the reviews and I have to agree with everyone else. Chicken pot pie was wonderful , the Green beans were Delicious , Baked apples were yumm-O, and the Mac & cheese was very tasty ....let's just say , Everything was great! read more

I give two stars because my experience happend some time ago but at that time they have a weekly service that includes all you can eat flounder and each time I ordered more flounder I was treated very rude and was even asked at one point by a clearly aggravated owner , which was who was waiting on us at the time , "are you sure your gonna eat all that ". I went here today with my work crew...11/24/2020 The sign said. Wait to be seated, so we did... 5 mins later we were told to seat ourselves .We had to sit at a dirty table cause all the tables were dirty, plates, dishes ,drinks .We sat down and ordered food that's on special , meaning already cooked. Well It was 48 mins to get our food ,and ppl who came in after us were getting there's , that says the cooks don't pull tickets in order, Well the BBQ chicken was cold in the mmiddle.It was boiled chicken and baked to brown it . The fries were undercooked and the oil they were using was Burnt, the fries were nasty, The broccoli and cheese was over cooked with some type if commercial cheese NASTY! All the food was nasty!!! After all it was a whole HR from the door to leave ,The Owner which was a lady ask me how my food was and when I told her, she went off the chain. She was VERY unprofessional . I didn't say anything mean just the truth.. She was pissed that I even said anything..The wait staff was great, They just ware very tight leggings and you can see Way too much for a family resturant!!! Denton is a small town and there isn't ANY Place that has good food!! I really hate I had to leave even one star!!! read more

Great blue plate specials and a tasteful, modern menu. Wonderful breakfast. The seafood is good some weeks, not good other weeks. Awesome salads that are out of a big city bistro without the inflated prices. The atmosphere is Dentonish, clean, and there is a roomy covered outdoor patio to have a nice meal in the warmer months. Excellent seafood platter big enough for two hungry travelers ... that way we left room to top it off with the delectable homemade blackberry cobbler & coffee before continuing on our journey . Wow! I grew up in Denton. It's a small town with not much to choose from, but the Village is by far the best. Almost everyday my friends and I would eat there after school. Denton is a town where everybody knows everybody, but if you're an outsider coming into the Village you're still treated like an old friend. My whole life I've eaten at the Village and I've never had anything that wasn't amazing. It's a very casual place with good southern home cooking. read more

Nothing beats The Village in Denton. From blue plate specials to seafood to creative salads, they have it all. A wide array of menu items, all done right. You can tell these people are professionals, from cooks to waitresses. Everything, from the menu selections to the interior and exterior of the restaurant, are done in great taste. For such a small town, Denton is lucky to have such a great restaurant in The Village. The building was once the library, and has housed The Village for a long, long time. My favorite is the Little Texas style shrimp, or harvest chicken salad. Used to go here all the time since it was local and had good food. Hadn't been in a while though so when we went back a few weeks ago for the fried flounder we were just slightly dissapointed. It was smaller than it used to be. Used to, a small flounder would cover the entire plate, now it just takes up maybe 1/3 of the plate. Came back again last night for an early Easter dinner with the family before some left to the beach for vacation and ordered the fried flounder plate again. Firstly, the service was terrible. The waitress who took our order dissapeared and another waitress had to do what seemed like covering for our first slack waitress. When we finally did get our food it had taken an extremely long time (even when they used to be busy it never took this long). This is when another problem occured, I found a hair on my fried piece of flounder, and I noticed it before the plate even finished hitting the table. They were nice enough to take the plate back and get me another one. This second fish was fine, although it was room temperature or colder. Another thing that this place used to do was serve good hot flounder, but tonight was not the case. After taking all of two bites I noticed something on the underneath side of my piece of fish, printed numbers, so I dug around and come to find out that the inspection number or some kind of label had been deep fried with my fish and served to me, it was covered in the breading and grease so it had to of been stuck on with my fish. This is unacceptable. The rest of my family could hardly finish eating their food as well given what had happened to mine twice now. Not only that but the condiment bottles were filthy, covered in a sticky mess that we had to use them with napkins wrapped around them. The waitress that dissapeared only returned from time to time just to apologize about what had happened, but I don't see why she bothered considering she wasn't waiting on our table anyway like she should have. It only got worse from there. My food was taken off the bill, but as we were leaving to pay the remainder of my family was given the "senior discount" which only amounted to taking $0.05 cents off their bill. Very dissapointing, and then when we spoke our complaints about everything to the lady checking us out, she had the nerve to speak under her breathe to the other waitstaff as we left that we would be back tomorrow, implying that we eat there all the time and something like that isn't a problem for us. This was by far the biggest insult we have ever experienced at any dining facility. I will not return to this place and never again will I recommend it to anybody wanting to eat fish or anything else for that matter. I will also be trying to get in contact with the owner to voice my complaints as well. read more
