Great ambiance and food! Nice beer and cocktail selections too. My shrimp and grits was one of top 5 best I've ever had. My son's steak was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is located inside a big shopping plaza area but inside it was beautiful and cozy. 4 stars instead of 5 because they sat me in a booth under a leaky AC Roof and put a rag there to absorb the leak and said I can wipe it before I scoot out ....weird...maybe I wouldn't have minded if they offered something like free dessert or beer, something as a reward to deal with something I shouldn't have had to deal with.
This was my first time dining here. I had been hearing a lot of chatter about it. My friends and I decided to give it a try. They offered good service and good food. My waiter Jonathan was exceptionally nice and helpful. He was prompt bringing food to the table and our food came out hot and fast which is rare. They have unisex restrooms but the floors were wet so I can't speak on the cleanliness of the restrooms. Not sure if it was water from handwashing or other fluids inside. Prices are moderate and I'd certainly visit again.
Wanting to share this great menu w/friends we came to 44 Mills for early dinner; this place isn't a secret anymore & fills up fast. The summer menu is great; we ordered burrata cheese w/fresh fruit & crostinis & chicken lollipops for apps. Very different & both delicious. For entrees we ordered the shrimp & grits, pork chop & short ribs. Both the presentation & taste were over the top. They had a nice wine list & made some great suggestions, overall a great dinner. 44 Mills had become our 1st choice when we come to town, don't miss it!
I feel like this is one of those small neighborhood gems that people tend to forget about, including myself. It's been a couple of years since I was last here, but decided to stop in for dinner yesterday evening and was very impressed with the overall service and menu. Everything looked and sounded so good that it was hard to choose. I ended up getting the short ribs with mashed potatoes and some carrots and separately, I ordered some crispy calamari. For dessert I took home the lemon berry mascarpone cake. Everything was so delicious that I'm thinking about going back today.
Second time here for dinner and it was even better than the first thanks to Amelia! Our server was friendly, helpful, professional and fast. She anticipated our needs and checked in often. It was a busy night so it stood out to me that she was so attentive. Our food was delicious of course: deviled eggs, salmon, and burger. She explained the Cabarrus burger contest. Their burger is amazing, check it out! I saw groups as well as couples. Dining room is not large but the layout maximizes the space: high tops, regular tables and booths as well as bar seating. Nice ambiance, low lighting, casual. Bathrooms are gender neutral, clean, nice decor. We were one of the last tables and Amelia took time to chat with us. She even asked our names! We'll definitely be back and ask for Amelia!
Chase as the new mgr is a great change. We loved him as the bartender. There are new servers there now who try really hard. One suggestion is to make sure you hear all of the order so as to not make a mistake. I was served pork and not the roasted chicken dinner. For someone who doesn't eat pork that was disheartening. But thankfully Chase understood and apologized and took care of that portion of the bill. I'm not sure when we will be back.
This is such a cute local spot that has the perfect ambiance with dim lighting that makes the place more intimate and cozy. Our server Amelia was great. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend asking for her! Started off with one of the holiday specialty drinks , the mimosa mistletoe which was a cranberry and rosemary ice cube served with champagne. This was so good that more than one round was ordered. The truffle fries are a great way to start the meal. The entrees we decided on was the fresh cut salmon and the roasted chicken breast. 10/10! Everything was perfect to the presentation, portion amount, and the taste. Nothing went to waste! I absolutely enjoyed my dinner here and can't wait to come back!
We started with an order of Calamari appetizer which was cooked to tender crispy perfection. We all ordered the braised short rib. It was phenomenal. Our server was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. She brought out the dessert we ordered with a candle for my mother's birthday, which was very sweet. The chocolate cake was melt in your mouth perfection! It was moist, and chocolaty chocolate without being overly sweet. When you walked in the waiting area is relatively small, but we only waited. Two minutes. I think most people make reservations.; we did not so we were very fortunate that we were able to be seated so quickly. The lighting in here is perfect slightly dim, but not so much. You can't see your food. There is a large full-size bar with excellent bartenders as everyone at our table. Enjoyed their drinks. We will definitely go back.
Great service but a bit loud inside. The food was hot and fresh but the proximity of other parties dampened the experience. Nonetheless this is a great spot for bites and great drink selection.

We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate with little wait time. It was packed, prime time Friday night. The hostesses and our waiter were a delight. We was cracking jokes and having the best convos. Ok now for the nitty gritty. I ordered a rosé, it was still although it was in the sparkling wine section. It was still good as I could do with either and didn't have a preference. For our apps we ordered the truffle fries and the bang bang shrimp. SMACKING! Both were hella good! The bang bang shrimp had a light, nicely seasoned batter that was crunchy and held with the bang bang sauce drizzle. The shrimp were huge in size. Definitely a reorder. The truffle fries OMG! Every fry was coated in truffle. The parmesan cheese and whatever that white cream sauce they added on top paired so well with the fries that we couldn't stop eating them. No for real. Definitely a reorder. For my main I ordered the 44 cheeseburger. I don't eat pork so they put it on the side so my friend could put it on her chicken sandwich. The burger is a smash burger with 2 patties, pimento in the cheese, lettuce and tomatoes with a house remoulade sauce. The burger was DELICIOUS! The patty was nicely grilled, had some crunch on the edges but was juicy and seasoned! The burger comes with fries but since we ordered the truffle fries I asked to sub. They had salads and so I got the caesar salad. That was a miss. I did like the freshness of the salad. So I will give kudos for that but the dressing was a no go. It was watery and lacking true caesar flavor. I'm definitely coming back! Parking was a breeze since it's in a plaza. We were able to snag a park right in front!

Went for lunch and food did not disappoint! This is my second time visiting 44Mills. This time, I ordered the A44 Burger (made with Waygu) and it was probably the best burger I've ever had. The only negative is that my bun got soggy. Maybe they added too much sauce on it so next time, I'd request light sauce and drain the grease from my burger. My husband enjoyed his hot honey sandwich and no complaints and may daughter did like her chicken tenders and fries. Our server was very friendly and knew the menu well. We'd definitely visit again soon.

Such a cute spot! I really enjoyed everything about my visit -- the vibe, the food, the drinks, and especially the service. I had the lavender lemonade cocktail with Ketel One, and it was AMAZING. Refreshing, flavorful and not overly sweet. I also tried the chicken lollipops and deviled eggs, and both were delicious. The wings were crispy, saucy and packed with flavor, and the deviled eggs were really good too. Nothing was bland! The service was just as good as the food. I wish I could remember the names of the gentleman and young lady who took care of me because they were both so helpful, attentive and welcoming. The ambiance is cute and relaxed -- definitely a place where you can sit, have a good cocktail, eat some good food and enjoy yourself. I will absolutely be back because there are several other things on the menu I want to try. read more

INCREDIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!!! Asia was our waitress and from the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. I'm in town for the weekend and decided to stop by 44 Mills and had a great time. I love small, quiet places with great music that fills the background. My server was great attentive and great energy the whole time. For food I had the 44 burger(can't remember what the menu calls it). This is just a smash burger with pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. It comes with chips but I subbed it with old bay fries. First if you're an old bay person already then you'll love the fries. Great blend and taste and not too hard, felt like a perfect blend. Now the smash burger was honestly a great choice. I'm a pimento cheese guy and it does take the show on the burger. The sauce they have on the burger compliments it so well. It was a great choice if you're in the mood for one. Overall great experience. This place already has a positive reputation for being really good and I see why. If I come back to the area I would definitely come again and would recommend you try it out. read more

From the outside you would not expect what you find when you enter the doors. It's definitely got more of an atmosphere going on inside than out. Wife and I got the pimento cheese rangoons which were good, just basically fried pockets of pimento cheese. We also ordered the liver mush croutons which were amazing! I've never had liver mush prepared that way and I would come back just to get that app. For our mains I ordered the shrimp and grits which did not disappoint, the shrimp were big and succulent. The grits were perfectly cooked and the sausage/sauce added that extra smokiness and zing. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and truffle fries. It's been a while since I've had truffle fries that actually tasted like truffle. Most places have them on the menu and they don't add up, but 44 mills delivered! Service was great, very attentive and polite. And to finish it off the Cheesecake was perfectly velvety and rich, It was so good I managed to find room in my already full belly! read more

While traveling, we stopped for lunch here today. I had the autumn salad with salmon and a side of cheese grits. The grits were enough for two. The salad was huge and filling and I'm glad the dressing arrived in the side. My husband had the creole omelet with potatoes. The omelet was tasty and the potatoes were amazing. I also had the pear necessities cocktail. Also delicious. Will definitely add to my list whenever I'm in the area. Service was friendly as well including running out after I'd left my gloves. read more
This was my first time trying 44 Mills. They've been on my radar for years. We stopped in to check out their Million Dollar Burger for the Cabarrus Burger Madness Challenge and it did not disappoint. The burger was HUGE!! I did not finish it, but I got a good chunk eaten and I was proud lol. We also tried a few cocktails and really enjoy them as well! 44 Mills has a lot of great items on the menu too so I can't wait to go back and try more options. But this burger was definitely the star of the show!! The bottom bread did get a little soggy from the jalapenos but it was still amazing. I will be back next year for their next burger they dream up. YUM!! read more

The food was excellent! We ordered the truffle fries 8/10, bang bang shrimp 10/10, chicken & mash 7/10, Mac n cheese 8/10 and the short rib was incredible 10/10! Got take out the other night to try the burger of the month. WOW millions dollar burger isn't playing. Super yummy! Great season in the patty and all the ingredients come together for that wow factor. Just not a fan of the jalapeños I also ordered the steak pappardale pasta. So delicious. I had half the burger and half of the pasta for my dinner. So so good. I called in my take out order and pick up was fast. read more

It's been years since I ate at 44 Mills so I stopped on my way from West CLT to High Point. Chase was the manager that took care of me at the bar. Nice guy and provided the suggestion of their competition burger- $44 Million Burger. The Caesar salad was a good start. The burger tasted great and it had a menagerie of toppings including something called "cowboy candy" . It had bacon, avocado ranch, BBQ sauce. It was quite tasty! The fries were hot and crispy. Plenty of good dressing and the romaine lettuce was crispy and fresh. No issues with this meal. Good place close to 85 for a quick bite or a quiet meal. Cheers! read more

I wanted to try something different so me and my adult child went here for brunch. The food was seasoned nicely. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. The ambiance is peaceful and comfy. I would recommend this place for a nice cozy brunch and their mocktails were very tasty. read more

Was looking for a cool place near PNC arena in the summer and we came to this amazing restaurant. At that time I had the Salmon plate with risotto. And it was amazing. Today we were shopping at concord mills and decided to drop by again. The food is amazing. The menu items are priceless. The appetizers and food and drinks are all so wonderful. Our servers have all been so great and the service is so quick. One of my favorite places and we will be back over and over!! read more

I visited 44 Mills Kitchen to meet a friend for brunch. To my surprise Brunch ends at 3 PM- the same time of my arrival. The lighting is dim and super intimate. The wait staff is really and attentive. I had an old fashion that was made to perfection. The food has a great appearance but not much flavor. I give it a 3 start at best! The ambiance, overall atmosphere and service is what makes this place so great. Our waitress was Emily. She made great suggestions, had pleasant conversation, and was very professional. I actually would go back just to converse with her! I ordered a creole Omlette with cheese grits and bacon. My friend had salmon with broccolini. My grits just weren't good. They weren't creamy like southern grits should be. Although, people were speaking amongst themselves the environment was not loud. The music was really good! Is this place good for groups of 6 or more?
I had a group of 6 for a lunch, and while the wait was long, we had the option of dining inside or outside.
Does 44 Mills have a kids' menu?
They might. I would call the restaurant to be sure. We did see some kids during our visit, but I can't be sure if there is a specific kids menu.
Any other cheese options for the burger besides pimento?
You can substitute the pimento cheese for either cheddar or American cheese.
Does 44 mills do reservations, I talked to someone on the phone and they said they didn't and she told me to make one on Yelp?
They have an option on the Yelp app to make a reservation for 44 mills and set what time you'll be arriving. My fiancé and I did that and they had our name down and we were seated promptly.
Does this place offer takeout? Or is it done in only?
They do offer takeout. But the experience of enjoying a meal there is great !
Is this place kid friendly?
They have a kids menu. We've taken our kids there and I've seen lots of others. Check out the kids menu before going if your kids are picky though.
