Dinner with co workers. I had the 9 oz sirloin with asparagus. Started with a side salad. Salad was good , nothing special. Steak was very good, nothing usually great. Nice experience. Friendly staff. Cool old building. But two nights ago I ate at TRH , had basically the same thing and it was much better.

Went back just a couple weeks after our first experience and wanted to try a different dish. Boy am I glad I did, it was delicious!! And the Twisted Ribs were just as good as I remember from the first time. Our server did a pretty good job for a busy Friday night, though I did run out of my drink and had to ask for more. I really love their set up and decor, it's a mix of modern farmhouse, some glam, and some urban vibes with the ceiling. It's really fun and a nice option in downtown Kannapolis.

I recommend! Ambiance was contemporary, service was attentive and food was good! I ordered fried chicken sandwich with 101 barbecue. The bbq sauce was good, I ordered mine on the side! Mac and cheese was good, sweet potatoes fries wasn't a fan. Drinks delicious! I ordered Paloma and Sangria.

Came in for graduation dinner and was pleasantly surprised. The decor is very nice inside love the exposed brick look. The chairs were comfortable and tons of space I like they didn't try to stack tables on top of each other. Our server Julie was just great did amazing with larger party and everything came out perfect. The bar tender is the next super star all the drinks tasted great. Next time I'm in the area I will be stopping in for sure. I had the filet and it was cooked perfectly! The cinnamon butter for the bread is so good!

We were late in the game to make reservations for NYE. Using opentable we found a spot here for 8:30pm. Great! We arrive early so that we may enjoy a drink, first. We were called early to our table which worked out since, unbeknownst to us, they were closing at 9. We ordered our meals and then just enjoyed ourselves. We were given 2 rolls and when my husband asked for more we were told that they were out, or not making them any more. We thought that was strange. They did bring us 2 more rolls. We noticed the restaurant clearing out. My husband's salad was served, not mine. The waitstaff was not around for some time but once they came back out I asked about my salad. She looked dumbfounded like, what salad? Eventually my salad was brought out with my meal. Ok. We each ordered 9 ounce filets, medium. They were closer to well-done, but still tasted fine. Our check was brought to us with our desserts. It really felt rushed. If you close at 9 and you are a sit-down restaurant that allows 1.5 hours per table (as posted on their sign), DO NOT ACCEPT 8:30 RESERVATIONS. This was our second time coming there and while we want to support local, not chain, restaurants, I really see no need to return.

Pros: Reasonably priced menu Casual elegance Walk up bar Fast seating and service Easy parking (it was not a game day) Cute location downtown walkable area Cons: I didn't care much for my teriyaki salmon because I expected a sauce that was a tad thicker sticker and slightly sweet. Mine was on the salty side as if too much soy sauce was used. My shrimp was fried a bit hard and tasted like the oil was starting to get scorched. I imagine parking is difficult when there's a game at the stadium. There might also be a wait to get seated. You have to get the twisted ribs. It worth a visit just for the ribs, and that whipped cinnamon butter that they serve with the bread. I truly enjoyed this restaurant. Nothing pretentious. Just a classic menu with something for everyone. Chicken beef fish pasta wings burgers etc. Our waitress Zoey was friendly, gave recommendations and attentive service.

Saw a couple pictures online and decided to give this place a try , I did not regret the hour long drive at all , it was some of the best food I've ever had and the service was phenomenal. I am usually a steak type of guy but decided to try the fried chicken sandwich tossed in medium sauce , and it was by far my favorite it was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of spice I was looking for. The appetizer was simple cheese fries but even that was over the top and was great. My lady friend got the 6oz steak and this was the fastest I have ever seen her eat a steak (she's usually a slow eater) the sides were also very good and just overall a great experience !!!

Nice place in downtown Kannapolis. Service was really quick and everyone was friendly. I started with the loaded nachos. They were fine, a little cold though. Then I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly. I also liked the bacon a lot. The fries were very good as well. Overall, it was a nice place with reasonable prices as well.

Came for a birthday lunch with a large group and it was the perfect place! Alyssa was our waitress and she amazing for our group of 10...super attentive and patient with our group! I got the Southwest Chicken Grill with salad and beans and rice. A lot of our group got the prime rib sandwich and were super pleased. As mentioned, there are some things they do not serve for lunch that aren't noted on the menu.

Our visit here was on a Thursday evening in July. We have been to this area several times, but never visited Old Armor until this trip. Typically, we find ourselves here in the mornings when it is not open. However, since we already had dinner and were looking for something else to do downtown at night, we stopped in for a drink. It appeared to be one of the few businesses open around 10 PM. As stated, this is located in the heart of downtown Kannapolis. There is street parking nearby, as well as parking garages. I do not believe Old Armor has their own dedicated parking lot. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this establishment is dog friendly! We had our dog with us, and were happy that he could come inside and join us. This was actually part of the reason we chose to visit here, since we could bring him inside with us. We actually saw a few other dogs in the building when we first got there. The ambiance here was quite lively during our visit. It was line dancing night, so the entire front of the place was cleared out and full of dancers both young and old. There were a lot of patrons when we visited, but not so many that it was overcrowded. It was darker with some accent lighting and disco balls, which perfectly fit the vibe for the evening. To the left of the front door was an area with tables and chairs for those not dancing. There were also some cocktail tables around, along with more tables in the rear, and outdoor seating. This is a large space, and would have plenty of room for any size party coming in. Several TVs that were playing various sporting events hung around the perimeter. The bar was located near the middle of the establishment. Due to the dancing, we took our beers outside and enjoyed them in the outdoor seating. It was a nice night, and the outdoor space is a good setup. There was a satellite bar setup out there, but it was not in operation the night we visited. The wait staff at the bar were very friendly and helpful when we were ordering. We were able to sample any of the beers on tap before committing to a glass. I ended up ordering the Red Leg Corn Lager, and my fiancé ordered the Mango Tango Bravo. I personally had never had a corn lager before, but it was nice and crisp, and something I really enjoyed! Something I really admired about this business was their commitment to the armed forces, police, fire, and other essential responders and personnel. They had a pay-it-forward board for them, along with nods to those groups in both the theming and the beer imagery. We very much enjoyed our first visit to Old Armor. The beers were good, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was exciting and the patrons of the place were all very nice. This is a great spot in the heart of Kannapolis to enjoy a drink and take in the atmosphere of downtown. We will definitely be returning on our future trips to the area!

There was a beard competition in process when we arrived, so it was a but chaotic walking in because it was being held near the front entrance. Most of our group had the Charlotte Hornets Stinger Ale - $3 a can, but they had a large variety of beers. They are focused on honoring honor veterans and first responders , which is evident throughout place. They are located across from Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Atrium Health field. We ordered some food, which was a bit confusing at first. There is a kiosk in the corner, you place and pay for your order and you receive a text when it is ready. We split a Protein Bowl, which was better than we anticipated. It was packed with rice, lettuce and beans. It also had a significant amount grilled chicken drizzled with avocado lime crema. Everything was good and definitely worth stopping in.

If you order a beer, it will be fresh as it comes directly from the tanks, as it is brewed on site. The restaurant's name pays homage to the city's textile roots and the towels made at the mills. The restaurant design also incorporated the town's history with Cannon Mills. The restaurant has an industrial feel with the open kitchen, high ceilings, concrete floors, exposed brickwork and steel structures. The tables were crafted from a 160-year-old tree that fell on the mill property. There were garage doors that likely opened during the games. They offer a $10 lunch special that includes a drink, side and entree. The $10 menu had a lot to select from: sandwiches, wraps, salads, wings, and a burger. I went with the All-American burger and fries. My burger was a good size, cooked to order and tasted great. The fries were really good, too. Service was great and attentive too. I was even offered a tea to go. My waiter got me in and out of the restaurant fast so I could get to the Music Hall of Fame on time. I did stop at the mural again on my way back to the car. Parking was free in the street spots and no time limits. Although I am not sure about the rules on game days/nights. With my favorite mural on the building, I have a feeling I will be back again to try more menu items and maybe see a ballgame too.

Indeed, if the cold North runs through you veins, you'll find house beer and mead aplenty to wet your whistle in an atmosphere that while housed in a modern shopping center, is still somehow appropos. Unfortunately, I had driving to do, so alcohol wasn't in the cards, but the menu appealed to us. We needed some comfort food, so we ended up with an appetizer sampler that included a baked pretzel, jalapeno poppers (instead of the fried ravioli that I guess they were out of), buffalo wings, and mozz sticks. We also got a pizza from the current specials, the spicy hawaiin. We like pineapple on pizza, and definitely prefer pepperoni to ham, and this also included jalapenos... so it sounded right up our alley. FYI, there are no waiters, you simply order at the bar, and they give you a numbered buzzer to pick up your food when ready. I greatly prefer this way of doing things honestly. For the food, honestly... a mixed bag, hence the one star off. The pretzel was great, probably the best of the bunch. Jalapeno poppers were nice and large, good flavor balance of cream cheese and jalapeno. Mozz sticks were mozz sticks. We didn't care for the wings. For one, they weren't tossed in the buffalo sauce, it was just poured over the top, and they also were a tad dry... maybe fried too long. The pizza was a letdown, especially since other reviews were so complimentary of it. The slices were very floppy, it maybe could have used a couple minutes more. The cheese had a nice flavor, but the sauce was not either of our preference. Could have used more pineapple, less jalapeno to balance the bites. Overall, we didn't finish it, and didn't take the leftovers for later. It could just be our personal tastes, so go and decide for yourself. Outside of food, it was trivia night, and people were having a great time. We would have taken part if we were staying longer. I think if I lived in the area, I would still come here, and just figure out what food items are the ones to get and which ones aren't. Great atmosphere, friendly bartender and people.
