We decided on the their appetizer sampler just to get a feel for their food, and it wasn't a great feel. The wings were burnt, Maybe that's their "style" but it didn't work. They were so dry. With a name like the Buzzed Viking Brewing Company... a descendant of hearty axe wielding fjordlings like me cannot refuse the opportunity to stop and check it out while passing through the area. Indeed, if the cold North runs through you veins, you'll find house beer and mead aplenty to wet your whistle in an atmosphere that while housed in a modern shopping center, is still somehow appropos. Unfortunately, I had driving to do, so alcohol wasn't in the cards, but the menu appealed to us. We needed some comfort food, so we ended up with an appetizer sampler that included a baked pretzel, jalapeno poppers (instead of the fried ravioli that I guess they were out of), buffalo wings, and mozz sticks. We also got a pizza from the current specials, the spicy hawaiin. We like pineapple on pizza, and definitely prefer pepperoni to ham, and this also included jalapenos... so it sounded right up our alley. FYI, there are no waiters, you simply order at the bar, and they give you a numbered buzzer to pick up your food when ready. I greatly prefer this way of doing things honestly. For the food, honestly... a mixed bag, hence the one star off. The pretzel was great, probably the best of the bunch. Jalapeno poppers were nice and large, good flavor balance of cream cheese and jalapeno. Mozz sticks were mozz sticks. We didn't care for the wings. For one, they weren't tossed in the buffalo sauce, it was just poured over the top, and they also were a tad dry... maybe fried too long. The pizza was a letdown, especially since other reviews were so complimentary of it. The slices were very floppy, it maybe could have used a couple minutes more. The cheese had a nice flavor, but the sauce was not either of our preference. Could have used more pineapple, less jalapeno to balance the bites. Overall, we didn't finish it, and didn't take the leftovers for later. It could just be our personal tastes, so go and decide for yourself. Outside of food, it was trivia night, and people were having a great time. We would have taken part if we were staying longer. This is a cool place, loved the Nordic sign and paintings on the walls, it does gives that Viking vibe. On our way back home from Concord, we wanted to grab something to eat. My wife did a quick search and threw out a few options. We liked the sound of Buzzed Viking and decided to check it out. They are located in a small strip mall with ample parking. They have a small outdoor covered seating area but we went directly inside since it was a cold day. There is a bar on the right side with seating on the left and a small stage at the far side. There were a couple of guys playing live music on the stage. We slowly walked inside checking everything out. I saw a sign on the wall near the bar that said they offer a free beer to first responders, active duty, military veterans, teachers, nurses and doctors. We grabbed a high top table closer to the live music and had a seat. We were provided menus and our drink orders were taken. I decided to order an IPA and provided the server my ID showing I am a veteran. This was a very nice surprise and one that is always appreciated. I asked our server if the owners are also veterans and she said yes they are. We love to support veteran owned businesses and I also appreciated the free beer. They have beer, wine, cider, meads, cocktails and bourbon. We learned this location opened in July of 2020 and they have a second location in Locust, NC, which we believe opened in late 2022. We looked over the menu and my wife decided on the lemon pepper wings while I chose the T-Rex Carnivore pizza. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked good. Unfortunately, my wife did not enjoy the wings, there was way too much lemon pepper seasoning and it didn't have a good flavor. She was grateful she only ordered 5 of them. My pizza was very good. It was a little big for me to finish but that is okay, I love leftover pizza. Overall this was a good visit except for the wing seasoning. Hopefully they can perfect their recipe. Staying in the area for a long weekend so we Stopped by for a flight and a quick bite. The cranksgiving and blueberry cider were so good (I like sour ales and the bartender recommended the blueberry - so glad she did). Also got the T. rex pizza which was a meat pizza. Went in to this establishment on a Saturday afternoon on the recommendation of my wife. They weren't busy, we ordered two beers and two appetisers. All was nice, the appetisers were good. Then walks in some older man posting up Anti-Trump signs, people come here to relax and enjoy drinks and food. My question is, is it okay for me to walk in and post up Pro-Trump signs? Ownership/management should just stick to their business and not promote misguided patrons political views. We enjoy coming here from time to time-- they allow you to bring outside food in to enjoy with your drinks which is a major plus. We also enjoy the mead and beer selections. There is a nice patio that's covered, and there are games out there as well. read more

I saw they have cauliflower crust pizza so I wanted to try it. They opened at 11 am and we came around 11:30 am so it was still empty but I love how spacious and clean it was. We went for the food, not beer. Have no idea if the beer is any good but the food is seriously lacking. Their wings are mostly drumettes smothered in way too much sauce in hopes you won't notice how bad they really are. Their jalapeño poppers taste like jalapeños wrapped in white bread with some cream cheese and air fried. The pizza was disgusting. The burger, Son's of Ragnar Burger (burger listed in the Cabarrus Burger Madness), the main reason we went, was actually decent. It's not on the menu so you have to know to ask for it. We had to ask for a knife and the plastic that they provided was barely able to cut through the bun but definitely not the burger. What annoyed me the most, beyond paying for food that was not all that good, was the female bartender selecting 30% tip, TWICE, on the handheld machine. They hand you a machine with the total owed, no details. I asked for the details behind the charges so she printed and handed the machine to me a second time and AGAIN, she physically selected the 30% tip. That is ballsy, IMO. The wrathchild hazy is fantastic and they have some of the best mead outside of San Diego I have ever had here! The passion mead was my favorite. Great flavor. This place is always hit and miss and of course it's again part of the Concord/Kannapolis areas only things to do list, but we hit it on the 4th of July and caught a really good acoustic entertainer so we order a few bears and the Viking sampler. Food was not great and beer was so so. After 4 beers and our sampler we cashed out to what was a $75 tab. I mean if it's what the bill is it's what I will pay but that is not what will bring us back. It finally happened. I found a micro brewery that makes beer that I enjoy. The Buzzed Viking Brewery is located in a strip mall at 1048 Copperfield Blvd., Concord, NC. Their unassuming building has plenty of offstreet parking. Very casual, sit at any available table kind of place. We ordered a flight of beer to try and none of them were hoppy or bitter or chemical tasting. We got some pretzel bites, pizza and a dessert pizza to satisfy our hunger. We ordered a few pints and listened to the entertainers play depressing songs from the 1990s. We also ordered a few crawlers of their Belgian Triple to go. The Buzzed Viking is making delicious varieties of beer which you must try. The servers are super friendly. My highest recommendation. read more

I hope my experience was a 1 off, but the service was awful. Beer and food weren't bad, but our mead was funky(not in a good way). Me and my date showed up a little after 8pm on Saturday night. We were seated pretty close to the band, a little loud, but no biggie. A decent duo mostly doing cover tunes with some friends and patrons singing along. I guess it was a reasonable amount of time before we placed our order, but it probably wasn't even 8:30 yet and we were told the kitchen would be closing soon. My date ordered a water and she asked about a flavor of mead, but they didn't have it stock, so she got a different one. I ordered a pizza and a hazy IPA. The water never came, but we did get our alcohol. Her mead was not good, kind of a cough syrup after taste, maybe it wasn't fermented long enough? It was also a small pour in a pint glass, which is kind of strange. My hazy IPA was good enough though. Thing is, we never saw our server again until the place closed down. My date wanted her water and wanted to maybe try something else to drink, but we never had the chance and they didn't seem all that busy. Somebody did bring by our pizza, no plates, no napkins though. Alfredo chicken pizza, not bad. I eventually walked up to the bar around 9 or so to get said waters. Still no server. The band quit playing, they lights were turned on, they even started stacking chairs by 9:30 or so and our server finally came by and said "you guys still doing good"....... LOL. We hadn't been good in over an hour and she never asked once how our drinks or food were or if we wanted a second round. I still tipped 18%, because life sucks for servers, but I'll be sitting at the bar next time if I choose to come back. We left the mead in an awkward glass with 2 sips out of it sitting there and nobody even ever asked what we thought of it or why we didn't drink it. Phoenix was incredible and was always available, in spite of her being constantly busy. Definitely ask for her on arrival. They have a great process with ordering and food pickup; everything was delicious.
