Excellent service and food. We tried the cheese toast this time and were not disappointed. I got the special which was a coffee rubbed NY strip, served with asparagus and loaded mashed potato's. All around a great dish. My wife got the pecan chicken breast which is always excellent. Only complaints were the steak was overdone but they corrected the mistake promptly. Nice atmosphere, I believe it was a retired bank. Nice lighting and a soft jazz background music. I went with the Hawaiian ribeye, which is their teriyaki-inspired take. The ribeye cap was the highlight, super tender, and the eye had a great sear and a lot of flavor. Overall a really solid steak, especially if you like a slightly sweeter profile. Got the cream corn risotto on the side. It was really good but very rich, definitely something you can only have a few bites of before it starts to feel heavy. My wife ordered the pecan crusted chicken. The portion was huge, but it stayed really juicy and had a nice crunch on the outside. Easy to split or take leftovers home. Cocktails were great too. The Negroni was well balanced and the blackberry smash was super easy to drink. They had a fried shrimp special (ninja shrimp or something?) and that ended up being one of the best parts of the meal. They have many choices for sides that are all generous portions. My favorite was the corn risotto. It was so yummy I could eat the whole thing! Their desserts were amazing!! We had dinner reservations for a Saturday night to celebrate mine and my oldest son's birthday, while he was in town for the weekend. I had made reservations a month in advance and was really looking forward to this visit. It was our first time here. When we arrived on time for our table, we were brought upstairs to a very small, 4 person square table, and the hostess was dragging over a chair. We were a party of 5. This table was way too small, so we had to wait for them to figure out where our table was, and why we didn't have the said table ready. This is an enormous restaurant with loads of larger tables, some with just couples, and many with teens in prom attire. Needless to say, we spotted a round table with 6 seats, was told it was for someone else (excuse me?), but was gladly seated there with no questions. This would be 5 star, but I took a star for the lack of table. I am still wondering, where was my reservation for a table for 5 people?? I really don't know. We had some great drinks. Birthday boy had a Nail in the Coffin, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I would skip the bread basket here. I think $9 for bread is over the top. It should just be given to customers without charge. A few of us tried the French onion soup, and the lobster bisque. Very tasty! Dinner was an assortment of many tastes. Keep in mind, sides and even butter is extra, so just a reminder when ordering. We tried the petite filet mignon, prime aged sirloin, boneless short rib, Epic burger, with sides of truffle fries, broccoli and cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts, and creamed spinach. Large portions and very good. Birthday boy wanted a S'mores Martini and we ordered 2 slices of cake. The Epic cake and the cheesecake with caramel and praline. Epic is our favorite restaurant. It's service is unmatched; it's food is excellent, including steaks; and it's ambience is great too. We usually sit in the bar, which is fun. I would highly recommend this restaurant because you can't find anything on its menu that you won't enjoy. And the drinks its bartenders make are spot on. My only suggestion for them is that maybe once a year they change up their menu and offer some new dishes. But as far as we are concerned, it's the best around. read more

Tonight was our 35th wedding anniversary and we were looking forward to dinner at Epic. We hadn't been back in while and were excited to try it again. I ordered the Short ribs, huge favorite but they were out of it. Wife wanted the Smokin Hot Couple, but with fried shrimp. They messed that up and brought an extra side of fried shrimp in addition to the shrimp that comes with the meal. I had to make an alternate selection so I went with the double bone-pork chop. Medium. It came so rare I that I couldn't eat it. Since we didn't want to make a fuss, my wife and I ate her side of fried shrimp and the filet medallions on her meal. By the time Caitlin checked on us, it was too late to send my chop back so I said I'd just reheat for lunch tomorrow. Manager comes by and asks to recook it. Since again, it was too late I said I'd just take it home. Never once did he apologize or offer anything in compensation for ruining our dinner. I am so disappointed that this is the last time I will visit Epic. We used to be a frequent diners there, but no more. I was in Mooresville for business traveling alone and wanted to grab an early dinner before heading to my hotel. The bar at Epic opens at 4 with the appetizer menu only until 5 pm. First of all, walking into Epic felt like walking into a 1940s or 1950s elegant restaurant and bar. It's lovely with lots of wood and character. I found a seat in the bar and started with a Blueberry Lemondrop Martini. It was fantastic. Not too sweet, and the hint of blueberry was just right. I ordered a Caesar salad and the bacon wrapped scallops. Both were absolutely to die for. The scallops were perfectly cooked and were served in clam shells with creamed spinach. The salad was a generous portion. Service was good. Had an incredible meal. Very filling for an appetizer and salad. Loves the menu and can't wait to return. read more

Epic Chophouse is one of the most popular restaurants in my area and is considered a high end place; however, it is my least favorite. This is a very expensive restaurant and the food is not worth the price. My last meal was a fish dish and it was covered up with so much butter. Return visit (after an unfortunate meal last March ... with a prompt, concerned, and professional follow up from the restaurant). Everything was OUTSTANDING. Phenomenal server and service. Wonderful menu (which was always the case). Food delicious, prompt, and well prepared. Lovely wine list with excellent recommendation from the server. Five stars across the board. Only thing a diner might want to know that is modestly different from my experience of a "typical" steakhouse is that bread wasn't served after we ordered. There was only one "artisan bread" on the menu that was cranberry...so we skipped it. This visit really, really lived up to our expectations and the other reviews we've read. Phenomenal restaurant! We were down for vacation and did one fancy night out at Epic with the kids. Definitely not the cheapest option in town but the food and service were outstanding! Our waitress was there the perfect amount at the right times, anticipated needs and was prompt. She was able to answer questions about ingredients and portions. Ordinarily we enjoy Epic, however last evening it just fell apart for some reason; we asked for a table downstairs because the upstairs is so loud, but last night the music downstairs was SO loud that we couldn't even have a dinner conversation without yelling "what!?"...even our waitress was literally yelling the specials. 2 in our party ordered slightly dirty martinis and they were so heavy on olive juice that they were undrinkable. Our entrees were arriving before we even finished our appetizer- and we shared an appetizer! My steak was great, but my husband had halibut that had so much garlic on it...was just not good. The cheesecake was good, at least...Sadly, the couple we took had not been there before and were not impressed. I'm very reluctant to return and pay another almost $400 for an awful experience...I can promise I'm not the complaining type, but this was really a shame. read more

The FROZEN meatballs at epic chophouse, which is supposed to be a steakhouse is the worst thing I've eaten in my life. How can you feel good about serving 2 frozen hardened meatballs for $18 that claim to be wagyu? I even mentioned it to the server and still was charged for these baseballs. Ridiculous. First time back since my last review. Food was still amazing. This time, however, I had a couple issues. First of all, the waiter didn't do a great job setting expectations on the food. A loaded baked potato, for instance, should come with sour cream. Mine didn't. When I saw the horseradish cream, I mistook it for sour cream and put it on my potato which elicited a comment from the waiter. Secondly the steak orders got mixed up on terms of doneness. I ordered rare and my daughter ordered medium rare. However they came out to us reversed. My daughter and I were ok with how these were cooked and we didn't say anything about it. We had table service by a waitress in addition to the waiter. She was the one who brought out our wine, but it seemed she did more than this task. IMO she filled in for the waiter and did much of his responsibilities. I thought she did an excellent job and wish I could have designated our tip solely for her. Nevertheless I left a generous tip. Maybe we just caught them on an off night. However for the price you pay to dine here, a bit more is expected. read more

I came here for a Valentine's date with my significant other. We had a reservation set at nighttime. We got there on time and they didn't have seat already prepared for us, which surprised us. We got seated shortly and were quickly provided a menu and lemon water. The ambiance was dark, formal, and romantic, which was perfect for a lovely dinner location. We ordered an appetizer, the bacon wrapped scallops rockefeller, which was very, very delicious. The scallops were tender and perfectly cooked. They were covered by a cream that was delicious. The price was expensive for two scallops but my partner and I loved them and would definitely ordered them again. For the entree, I ordered the seared blood orange jumbo diver scallops. The food was served on hot plates. My scallop entree was delicious and were perfectly cooked. The entree included zucchini noodles and blood orange cream. The noodles were thin and flavorful from the cream. They had a piece of dried blood orange on the top of the noodles for garnish. On the side, they provided a nice portion of mashed potatoes, which was soft and delicious. Overall, this experience was a 10/10. I would recommend coming here for a dinner date. We just left this restaurant, was celebrating my 54th birthday! Hailey was our server she was amazing! The appetizer was fine my martini was great! The entrees were trash! I ordered 14 oz 104 ribeye with a loaded potatoe, blue cheese crumbs on my medium cooked steak! It was tough could not even cut it with the steak knife, absolutely no flavor not even the basic salt and pepper! Keena ordered chicken pasta and the sauce looked liked mash potatoes! Presentation is amazing the food has no flavor at all!! The manager came out offered another cut of steak... no thank you not today not ever! The worst birthday dinner ever! The four cheese bread was a cheesy delight perfectly toasted and browned. Warm soft heaven. But the real standout was the service by Lucas. He has a sparkling friendly personality. He was the exact level of interaction and performed the classic 17 points of service with a flair. Clearly the management invested in this young man's training. Ask for him by name. Trust me on this. Another outstanding dinner at Epic. Our server, Q, was knowledgeable, polite and attentive. He remembered everything and was very professional. Came with family to celebrate a birthday. I usually get ribeye when we come here but this time, I opted for the BLT salad because thick cut bacon, arugula and vinaigrette is one tasty combination. And again, BACON! It's what I was feeling and I went with it. I did try this seasonal pumpkin beer in tap and whole it didn't really have a pumpkin flavor, it was very good. The rest of the family had ribs, steak kabobs, and ribeye steaks. We all enjoyed our meals and there were no complaints. No pics because we were too busy eating and enjoying ourselves, plus there are probably 100s of pics out there of everything in their menu. The restaurant was busy as usual and the ambiance was energetic. Love this place and hope to return very soon, most likely for prime rib Mondays. read more

We have been a customer at Epic since they opened and knowing what an upscale wonderful experience they offer, we chose this restaurant to celebrate an important occasion in our family. The very unfriendly waitress apparently incorrectly ordered the wrong steaks for two members of our party. No problem. She immediately took the steaks and said she would correct the mistake. Apparently she turned the corrected order in as a new order. After having already waited 30 minutes for our food, these two members had to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes to get their correct steaks. A medium rare steak does not take 30 minutes to cook. To make up for their mistake the manager comped us our bottle of very inexpensive wine. Really?? That's the best you could do to apologize for your mistake on a $600+ meal. To add to the bad experience, the " birthday" dessert was plopped down on the table with an unlit candle. Sorry, but we didn't bring candles with us. After serving everyone's dessert, she finally lit the candle. As a regular customer used to your usually excellent service, we were very disappointed. Epic you need to do better than this and we know you can do better. We have the server's name, and will specify from this point on we do not want her to serve our table - # 2-2. read more

We walked into Epic without a reservation with a party of 9 at 8pm on Father's Day. We weren't sure if they would be able to accommodate us but figured we'd ask. A man named Alex at the front explained to us it was too late to put our names on the waitlist but welcomed us into the bar area where he helped us find a table, brought over chairs, brought over a waitress and helped up squeeze our last minute party in. I wanted to take a moment to appreciate the above and beyond effort he made for us! I unfortunately didn't get our servers name but she did a great job as well, especially getting thrown such a big party so late in the day! She got everything right, was quick to refill drinks and notice low glasses. Excellent attention to detail and poise in a overwhelming situation for sure. The food and drinks were absolutely the divine. The cheese toast was a hit as always. The lobster bisque was delightful. The scallops stole the show for sure. I'll start by saying I went a year ago and it was a little better. This is not a steakhouse for people who know or like steak. They claim steaks are prime and dry aged. THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE. The steaks lack flavor, are tough, absolutely covered in salt... it's a disgrace. A sirloin from Texas Roadhouse is light years better. I eat at steakhouses all over the US regularly and this is by far the biggest disappointment of the year, perhaps ever. The apps were ok. However, they clam to have waygu meatballs, another lie. They were meat baseballs. Hard as rock. And for the love of god avoid the lobster bisque. An over salty, "get drunk off the sherry" blob of thick gloop. Not even dessert was good. For context, I was with a large group and we were all disappointed and shocked. Mark my words, Gordon Ramsey will be at this place for some kitchen rescue episode soon. Considering the prices, I feel it my responsibility to warn others. Just say no, and find literally anywhere else. This place needs an intervention. First time here anto celebrate my birthday. The service was amazing however some of the food wasn't as tasty as we hoped for. We started with the Shanghai shrimp and lobster bisque as appetizers. No complaints on the shrimp, it was phenomenal and tasted exactly like Bang Bang Shrimp from Bonefish. The lobster bisques were pretty good but we've had better. Drinks were strong and my husband enjoyed the Black Walnut Old Fashion. For the main course, I ordered the short rib while my husband ordered the lobster and shrimp linguine. The short rib, although tender, lacked in seasoning and didn't have that rich, robust sauce that everyone loves on their short rib. My husband felt the same about the pasta, lacked flavor. We ended the night with the molten lava cake, tasted yummy. All in all, the service was great and we may be back, but will order different items. Free parking behind the building fyi! read more

Had dinner at the Epic Chophouse this evening and it was very good. We split the Tomahawk Ribeye cooked medium. It was very flavorful but I think medium rare would have been better. The lobster bisque soup was delicious. Make sure you get a bread course to dunk in the soup. Potatoes are huge. My friend had the creme brûlée and said it was amazing. I will definitely come back the next time I am in the area. There was just something slightly off about the service that kept this from being 5 stars. read more
