This isn't my 1st or 2nd time here but with how everything tastes it's just like the first time! The pork chop has a roasted smoky grill taste throughout, the grits are a great complement. Great to see a chef- driven menu which constantly changes as they procure fresh ingredients. I heard their Sunday brunch is not to be missed and I can easily say I agree. Every week they offer a different cinnamon roll special. This week they had peanut butter and blackberry - what a great combo! The biscuits tasted like they each had a stick of butter in them (I mean that positively) and the sea salt on top added to the flavor profile. The restaurant has booths with rather tall walls between them, offering privacy between each booth. Our waitress was engaging and was happy to offer suggestions. February 15 Update 5 Stars! A Fantastic Return Visit - Thank You, On the Nines We recently returned to On the Nines after a previous visit where the food was great but the service was a bit lacking. This time, however, everything was spot on, and we couldn't be more pleased! From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient, making for a much more enjoyable experience. It was clear that the team had stepped up their game, and we truly appreciate the effort. As for the food--just outstanding. Two of us had the braised beef short rib special, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender, packed with rich, deep flavor. My wife ordered the linguine again because she loved it so much last time, and it did not disappoint. It's not often you find a dish so good you have to have it twice! And we can't forget to mention the pimento cheese appetizer--hands down the best we've had anywhere. A big thank you to the staff and kitchen team at On the Nines for making this visit so enjoyable. We're already looking forward to coming back! Jan 19 Update: following my review below, the executive chef and owner took the time to call me and discuss the below. He was extremely respectful and apologetic. He offered a gift card and asked that I call him personally next time so he can show us what they can do. Jan 18: We recently dined at On The Nines for a special occasion--my mother's 72nd birthday--and what should have been a lovely evening turned into one of the most frustrating dining experiences we've ever endured. To start, we arrived on time and were seated promptly. Our waiter took our drink orders, and everything seemed fine. I ordered a soda since I was driving, and my wife and mother each ordered cocktails, which were delivered without issue. Unfortunately, that was the last smooth moment of the night. When our appetizers arrived, my wife's salad was served split between her and my mother, despite that not being what we ordered. More frustratingly, my French onion soup never appeared. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked the waiter to cancel it if it wasn't ready. He agreed--but 10 minutes later, it finally showed up with my entrée. At that point, my wife's and mother's meals still had not arrived. I waited to eat my now-lukewarm entrée until their food came. The waiter eventually walked over to the neighboring table, picked up the meals that had been sitting there for 10 minutes, and gave them to my wife and mother. To top it off, the diners at that table had to hand over the missing condiments for my mother's dish, which the waiter forgot to grab. A manager finally intervened, offering to remake the meals. However, since this would have meant waiting another 30 minutes--and my dinner would have been cold--we declined. The manager offered complimentary dessert, which seemed like a fair resolution. We soldiered on, with the soup still sitting untouched in the middle of the table. Throughout the meal, the waiter never checked on us or offered refills. I eventually asked for another soda, and while it arrived promptly, the glass was badly cracked--sharp enough to potentially cut me. When I pointed this out, the waiter returned with a to-go cup and straw, quipping, "Here's one for the road," despite the fact that we were still eating and waiting for our promised dessert. We finished what we could of our meals, and when the waiter boxed our leftovers, he ignored my wife's request not to box her mostly finished plate. He packed it into an oversized container that was completely wasteful. The French onion soup remained untouched and forgotten. Finally, the waiter dropped off the check without ever offering dessert or coffee, despite the manager's earlier promise. We left disappointed and drove to Nothing Bundt Cakes for a last-minute birthday treat. There were so many issues with service, from inattentiveness to blatant mishandling of food, that I'm sure I'm forgetting some. Suffice it to say, this was a complete service failure and one of the worst fine dining experiences we've had. We expected far better for a special occasion. read more

This is a great place for dinner. The place was packed. The biscuits and raspberry butter was to die for. They only gave us one each but I could eat 3 myself. I had the special that was chicken cordon blue. It was very deconstructed. It was tasty but I wish it was the normal one. The steak tips and mashed potatoes for an appetizer were absolutely delicious! The drink I had was the golden hour. It was soooo good but very strong. Do not get more than one if you don't drink much. I felt that one drink. Husband had the shrimp and grits. They were great and flavorful. Totally recommend this place. Came here for granddaughter's birthday celebration. We made reservations for the 6 of us so we were seated quickly. Service was outstanding from beginning to end, not just from our server but from the hostesses and other wait staff we encountered. The menu was diverse but due to my dairy allergy, I only felt comfortable ordering the Beet Salad with shrimp ( but without feta). It was a large portion and delicious with a vinaigrette on the side. Other family members ordered meatloaf, Bistro Burgers, Ribeye Steaks, and Scallops. We all enjoyed our different meals. Noise level for a bustling Thurs nt was low enough that we didn't have to raise our voices to be heard. The restaurant filled up quickly after 6 pm but our service remained consistently prompt throughout our stay. This was my first time at On the Nines. It was a great choice for a special occasion such as a birthday dinner. I'd love to try their brunch sometime soon. read more

Made a reservation on line and mentioned going for anniversary. We were welcomed and celebrated the moment we walked in the door. We had a card from the staff and champagne to celebrate. Our waitress was incredible but everyone who came to our table was incredible felt like dining with friends. Now to the food. We both were mind blown. We took recommendations from our waitress and could not have been happier! We love trying new places and we will deff be back. The personal touches meant so much to us . Having a toddler can be tough to make time for a date night and to celebrate our 9 years together. Two of our four dishes (my wife's salad with shrimp and my MIL's chicken roulade) were so-so and based on this price point and the servers hype of the chef we were left underwhelmed. The third dish (my 10 yo son's salmon dish which was supposed to be served without certain ingredients agreed upon and written down by the server) came out as described on the menu although my son did eat it and thought it was decent. My dish which was the Halibut (grilled catch) was good although nowhere as good as my first dinner there. Tbh the corn in the dish tasted like canned corn and the overall sauce was just not that tasty. Just expected more. Not sure we will return. read more

Came here for my cousin's birthday. My other cousin stumbled up on it on open table. My only complaint is they didnt have any mock-tail options. I am currently not drinking and I asked for a mock-tail menu and the server suggested Orange juice, pineapple, juice and grenadine, essentially a sugar shock punch. Thankfully I used to work in Non-alc so I was able to tell her to make a a mock mule for me. Aside from that, our experience was great. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the shrimp and grits and they were so delicious. My cousins both ordered the ribeye and from the bite I had it was seasoned cooked perfectly. This is a great brunch spot! The beet and fried goat cheese salad is so good and the portions are huge. One downer- we thought that the salad with salmon was a $6 up charge, taking it from $12 to $18 but it's actually an $18 upgrade. Taking the meal from $12 to $30. LET ME START THIS OUT CORRECTLY! Service was IMPECCABLE! Savanna & caitlin were absolutely amazing. I felt like a QUEEN when i came to dinner. I was waiting on basically hand and foot. I started the evening with a Caesar salad & fresh out of the oven rosemary and sea salt biscuit which was accompanied by an apple butter! I enjoyed a lavender gin cocktail, which was perfect! For my entree I had the chef special feature of surf and turf, filet which btw was cooked PERFECTLY topped with a frickin fried lobster tail & a side of broccolini which had the most amazing garlic and lemon flavor was hand delivered to me by the AMAZING CHEF STEVE! For dessert I had an espresso martini of course & paired it with an amaretto crème brûlée! Which was all amazing! There were many service staff that stopped by to make sure i was okay and got anything i needed & there was NEVER a dirty dish left on my table for too long. On the Nines is one our top 5 favorite restaurants in Mooresville. We were there within the first two weeks of them opening and I recommended the ceiling sound panels to the owner / manager to quiet the noise level and they were added soon after. When asked where I wanted to go for my big 6 0hhhh birthday party, I said On the Nines.... Chastity was our server, and she was awesome. We had our two adult children, and friends with us to celebrate. I had the Pimento Filet which was outstanding. My wife and two others had the schnitzel. We have had the schnitzel at On the Nines before and it was delicious. It used to have a mushroom type of gravy and was very tasty. Here comes the zinger - Why did you change the sauce? It was an epic fail in our opinion... It seemed to be a tomato-based sauce and it ruined the schnitzel. We didn't complain because we love this place, but it will not be ordered our next time there. We still love On the Nines and we will be back, but we will not order the Schnitzel. In their defense the manager did offer to take it back and replace the dish, but we made the decision to just work it out... We will be back... It is that good... read more

Cannot wait to come back. Worth the drive if you don't live in the LKN area or in Mooresville itself. The restaurant is located and has views of on the golf course while the esthetic of the restaurant is simple elegance, understated yet beautiful. The menu has so many great choices you will want to come back to try them all. There were 7 of us here for a birthday brunch and we struggled to make decisions. We had narrowed it down to 3 entrees and then our server told us the specials and we were given more choices and asking her for another minute. Our table ordered the Croque Monsieur, Bistro Burger, Charleston Shrimp and Grits (generous portion of shrimp), and Ribeye Steak Tips with 2 poached eggs and potatoes which was a Sunday Special. The portions are large so you will have leftovers to take home. Next time I will definitely order the Bistro Burger or Chicken & Waffles. A friend let me taste the burger and it was a burger unlike any other. The flavor of the grill was obvious on the meat and it was delicious. We shared the Nines Deviled Eggs which we all devoured. The flavors are amazing, Virginia ham, black truffle, smoked salt, pink peppercorn and topped with chives. The eggs are served on this cute wooden display with egg cutouts that make it easy to share and pass around the table. Our server was amazing and did a great job with refills of liberations with special requests for sides of hot sauce. I wish I remembered her name to give her a well deserved praise and shout out. And when you check out, each person gets a wooden block holding your check, and a place to hold your card. She brings it back with a pen in the pen holder and it's a nice touch. We loved our waiter Diego (very quick at refilling our coffee, and patient/ knowledgeable about the menu), and all appreciated the portion sizes on the food and fresh modern atmosphere. This resturant has a menu that offers many excellent choices from grilled seafood to bone in pork chops. The night we went crab soup was being offered which was the best I've ever had. In addition to the soup I ordered their grilled halibut and shared with the table grilled oysters in garlic butter sauce. My wife had their linguine with shrimp and lobster in a pesto cream sauce. This is one of Mooresville's hottest restaurants and for good reason. The food is always thoughtfully prepared and high on flavor. Tonight was no different. You need to get reservations, especially during COVID to make sure you can get in. Tonight I had them but it was not too busy so likely would have been ok without them. The wait staff is trained well, and they take great care of you. Your courses come to the table appropriately, not all stacked one on top of the other. The food is delicious. The dish of the night was the deviled crab crusted salmon. I just knew the coating would be bready, but it was mostly crab with little filler. The fish was fresh and cooked to a perfect medium. Another highlight was the rosemary biscuits served with apple cinnamon butter. Fluffy and savory-sweet! My only complaint is the sheer trouble getting into the place. There is no easy way if you are mobility impaired. They do have a ramp, but it is quite a long walk from the closest parking spots. The handicapped spots are close to two flights of stairs, closer than the ramp, but hard to navigate. I realize a large majority of the population won't have trouble with this, but it is worth a mention if you are challenged. Great food, better service, and a beautiful setting! read more
