    Complimentary Bread Service (3/5)
    Ian N.

Smoked Bone-in Pork Arista (4/5): So much smoke flavor! The meat was good but a little too fatty. I typically like a fruit chutney with pork chops, but I didn't think this needed the blackberry mostarda. The polenta was tasty. My favorite part was gnawing on the bone at the end. Duck Fat Potatoes (4/5): Lightly crispy exterior with a soft, fluffy interior. The crab fat mayo was mostly savory with a bit of tanginess and paired nicely with the potatoes. Squid Ink Conchiglie (4/5): The pasta texture was PERFECT. Very chewy. The shrimp was decent (bonus points for not having to peel them). There was too much sauce though, and it was too acidic. Pickle-Brined Fried Quail (4/5): More crispy than crunchy. The meat was tender, but maybe too tender? I would've preferred chicken. The chili oil was VERY peanut forward. I liked the wasabi tobiko. It added the flavor without the spice. The green garlic slaw helped cut through the oil so that was a good addition. Wagyu Beef Tartare (4/5): The beef was good and had a nice texture, but the overall dish was also too acidic. I liked the added texture of the thin, crispy sunchokes. Bread Service (3/5): A slightly better version of Hawaiian rolls with some nice flaky salt on top. Milk Bread Pudding (4/5): Had a nice saltiness to it. Lots of butterscotch flavor. The crusty parts were my favorite but the inside was very soft. The ice cream was too melty on top. Maybe it would've been better on the side? RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

W8 ranch wagyu skillet burger and hash brown waffle

Ate at Kindred with a friend and we shared the wagyu burger and the hash brown waffle topped with crème fraîche and caviar. Both were delish and worth ordering. The burger was cooked well and satisfying, and the hash brown waffle was crisp and balanced by the crème fraîche and caviar. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming without feeling formal. A great brunch spot for sharing dishes and taking your time. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Davidson.

This place is so delicious and welcoming. The design is spacious and chic. The staff is very friendly and super attentive. Our cocktails were expertly prepared. The chef took great care to address allergies. Can't wait to return.

Kindred was a mixed experience for me. The menu felt hit or miss. The Hamachi Crudo was surprisingly bland and did not deliver much flavor, while the duck fat potatoes were the standout of the night. The milk bread lived up to the hype and genuinely left us speechless. The atmosphere is cute but a bit cramped. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall it felt a bit overpriced for what we received, but there were moments that really shined so I am not writing it off entirely.

We were in the Charlotte area celebrating our anniversary and booked a reservation at Kindred. We got the duck fat potatoes, squid ink pasta, rigatoni and crispy oysters. Everything was good and the vibe was nice. Our favorite part of the meal was the bread, I would go back just for that! Staff were friendly and we had a nice time. I did get a spicy drink (can't remember what it was called) that really did not agree with me. If we were in the area we would come back to try out some other menu items.

While the food was good I wouldn't say I was blown away. We had the beet salad which I found underwhelming and lacking flavor, and then I had high hopes for my flounder Milanese but it also fella little short and also lacked the flavor I was expecting. My friend got the pork arista however which was really good and a large cut! The milk bread was also very good.

Attended a holiday dinner at Kindred and boy was I blown away!! I'm sure our experience was a little different than a typical dinner but just makes me want to go back and try it again. We were served family style with rounds and rounds of dishes to try for the table. There wasn't a single course that was bad. My highlight was the duck confit fries and the wagyu beef tartare. Both amazing!! I also loved the fresh bread, it was warm and delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and has a cool old building feel. Big windows and exposed brick. It felt very homey. The staff were very attentive and gave great suggestions on drinks. They even gave us info on the chef, owners. and history of the restaurant. We even learned they were included in the Michelin guide!! How exciting and not surprising at all. Can't wait to go back again.

We made sure to reserve a table before driving about two hours to get here. We were sat at table promptly and started ordering almost the entire menu ! The stand outs to me were the speciality bourbon drinks and crispy oysters. Cast-iron hash brown waffle was delicious but too much dill for my liking, but by all means you should try it at least once. Poke bowl was light and refreshing not too heavy. Try the charred chocolate babka and the milk bread cinnamon roll after to finish your meal. Staff were top notch !!!

duck fat fries - must order

We had a nice time visiting here. I'm not much a fancy restaurant kind of girl but we had a gift card and decided to check it out. My thoughts: PROS: - Beautiful old building and the ambiance is really nice. I would love to spend a night here when it's not busy - Amazing bartender who truly loved his job - Eclectic menu (small and unique which can be a pro or a con depending on how adventurous you are with food) - FLAVOR. The food is really good CONS: - Pricey and small portions. I know this is a niche spot but just be prepared you might need to order a couple of things if you are hungry - Crowded. Plan ahead and make reservations - Parking is not very easy. Be prepared to walk I was so excited to try to the Wagyu Beef Tartare here and it was nicely priced for what it was. It was a bit lemony for me but the combo of flavors was really unique. The duck fat fries were outstanding - GET THEM. Make sure to ask for the milk bread which we learned was complimentary. It was really delicious and not initially offered at the bar but I read about it so I asked. The cocktails were tasty and I'd go back to try more. Two cocktails, a pasta, tartare and the fries were around $100. I'd go back to try more on a special occasion.

Ambiance was great and food was excellent! Ellis was a great waiter and made sure we were informed and had a wonderful time for our first visit. It was my birthday and we added that to the reservation. Cons is I wish we had a better spot in the restaurant. We were seated at the top of the stairs by the bathrooms and for the occasion it was not the most desired spot. Also we did order the cheese and salumi board to start which I was very excited for and it was forgotten to put it. They were very nice about it and offered to put it in but we just got our main meals and didn't want to bother at that point. We had a comped cinnamon roll for the mistake

Kindred can do no wrong. We've done special dinners, regular dinner, and now Saturday brunch and never left disappointed. The menu changes (as if should) with the seasons, but if they have the fries with crab mayo, it's a must order. Also any dessert involving the milk bread. The bananas foster milk bread is to die for. The service is always top notch and thoughtful. Ambiance makes you feel comfortable and it's perfect for a date night.

I decided to build my own plate with the scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuit. Definitely a good choice! The biscuits and housemade jam were the best! Can't wait to try more menu items.

    Espresso martini

Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The service is top notch, and our waiter shared a bit about all the plates which helped our decisions. To start, the complimentary bread is to die for! I would go back just for that... Their take on an espresso martini was delicious and different with the Mezcal. I'm sure each cocktail was just as good. I opted for the squid ink pasta dish and it was perfect! We each tried a different pasta dish, and the gnocchi was a crowd favorite. You can't go wrong with anything here as the food is always fresh and the menu changes a bit each day. Thank you, Kindred!

    Paul use their website

Coming in from out of town. I know it is a nice place, but not sure about the dress code. Can I get away without feeling out of place if I were to wear khakis, a nice collared shirt and tennis shoes OR do I need to wear dress shoes, etc.?

You can definitely wear khakis etc. I've been there twice and haven't noticed a dress code!

Is Kindred kid-friendly during lunch hours?

I should think that you could take children there. As a customer, I love seeing "good" children out with adults. The only problem with Kindred would be the prices. I think is is a little bit pricey for children, but otherwise go for it!
