We went to dinner at Safari tonight and there was a fly in our food. I normally would never leave a review for a restaurant even if we had a bad experience. However, the manager never came to our table to apologize and no discount was offered. We will not be returning .

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I was really confused what the theme was walking in. The name safari made me think jungle but then it is a lot of random knickknacks and trinkets from decades before.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was curious but was confused on the core identity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The main dictator was the live band that was honestly pretty good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food itself was just okay but the dessert that is a slice of banana pudding cheesecake was amazing. Waitress was also fine nothing crazy. Wasn't the worst food but I wouldn't be sad never going again.

A number of years ago, even before we moved to Trilogy in Denver, we had dined at this restaurant a couple of times and it really was nothing to write home about. However, since we moved here, this is one of our normal Sunday Brunch spots and it had gotten to the point, that I should have upgraded my rating to probably a 4 Star. That is, until today. Normally we'll get a nice cup of hot potato soup to start with. The soup was just shy of being totally cold. Tepid at best. If I had wanted Vichyssoise, I would have ordered Vichyssoise. This is the reason we no longer patronize FATZ in Lincolnton because the soup is never hot. It gets worse. I ordered County Chicken with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Gravy with Fried Okra. All were lute warm at best. My wife had the Beef Tips and along with Okra and guess what, the same results. She did ask the server to take it back to the kitchen and throw it into the and heat it up. As for myself, I asked for a to go box and took it home and threw in the microwave to get it to the proper temperature. As for the rating, based on today's performance, I going to leave it at 2 stars. Big disappointment.

First time eating here and we absolutely loved it ! We love ordering The fried mushrooms as appetizer where ever we go and they were soooo good here, not greasy at all and my husband ordered the Cajun Alfredo pasta and it was sooo good! Everything was very tasty and good prices so we will be back !

We didn't use it on this visit, but they offer valet service, which is useful because of the parking congestion that can occur at Birkdale. My first impression was that this is a very beautiful restaurant. There is lots of lighting, thoughtful artistic pieces, and it has an airy, aquatic ambiance. Even the restrooms were lovely! There is an outdoor patio, as well as a front dining area where the bar is, and a rear dining area with visibility to the kitchen. The front and rear areas are separated by a glass waterfall sign bearing the restaurant's name. We had an absolute outstanding server named Saige. She was attentive and made great recommendations for us. To start, we had Caesar salads. The presentation of these was unique, having somewhat of a ruffled appearance. For the second course, we tried the sautéed shrimp with Cajun spice and charred bread as well as bacon wrapped scallops with Calabrian tomato jam. Finally, for the third course, we had the hanger steak with blue cheese butter and new potatoes. I love blue cheese, and I really loved it as an addition to this dish. Every item I tried, I would order again. Unfortunately, we didn't save room for dessert, but we've heard they are fantastic...next time! After dinner, we went and sat at the bar for a little while, and the staff there was just as delightful. Dining here was a whole experience that I plan to repeat again in the future!

The manager even comes around to check on guests, which is a thoughtful touch that you don't see everywhere. They also have amazing happy hour deals, especially on the oysters. The French fries are fantastic, and the burger is just as good. We've had consistently great experiences and look forward to coming back again.

Seaboy absolutely delivered. From the outside, the building is understated and looks more like it belongs near the beach at Oak Island. Once you step inside, however, it is clean, classy, well-appointed, and charmingly coastal without being overly themed or tacky. It feels like the premium restaurant it is. We didn't make reservations because we arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and never expected the place to be completely slammed that early. Jackie, the hostess, took our name and phone number and promised to call as soon as something opened at the bar. Since there wasn't much room to wait inside, she encouraged us to relax in our car. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, she called and made sure we got the first two available seats. Samantha, the bartender, was both an excellent server and a talented mixologist. She was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, somehow keeping up with all the drinks for the dining room without allowing anyone at the bar to feel ignored. I told her I wasn't much of a drinker but gave her the name of a liquor I enjoy. She created her own cocktail for me, and it was a solid 10 out of 10. Could I walk in and order that exact drink again? Probably not. Would I trust her to surprise me again in a heartbeat? Absolutely. My wife started with a shrimp appetizer that she said may have been the best shrimp she has ever eaten. I had the Caesar salad, which was the only part of the meal that was merely okay. It was beautifully presented, generously portioned, properly dressed, and topped with excellent cheese. Unfortunately, the dressing lacked the bold, savory punch I expect from a great Caesar. Our entrées, however, were phenomenal. I ordered the swordfish, and it was so good that my wife essentially took it over because she liked it even more than the seafood pasta special she had ordered. Fortunately, her rich, cheesy seafood creation was outstanding, so I was perfectly happy with the trade. I polished off her meal, then finished whatever swordfish she left behind! We ended with the deconstructed Key lime pie. It was flavorful and enjoyable, although, like the Caesar, I felt it could have used just a little more refinement. At one point, the chef and owner came out to the bar, shook our hands, introduced himself, and thanked us for coming. He stayed for a little friendly conversation, which was a genuinely nice and personal touch. Those minor critiques aside, the service, food quality, atmosphere, and hospitality were all excellent. Seaboy has immediately become one of our favorite choices for a premium meal, and the overall experience was absolutely five out of five. We will definitely be back soon. To those about to nosh, we salute you!

Just a step above. On a whim, my wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. I hadn't been to a Showmars in probably 20 years, and honestly, I'd forgotten what it was like. I ordered the traditional gyro with fries, and my wife had the All-American Pita Burger with onion rings. You order at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring your food out on real plates--actual dishes you have to wash. I was shocked. In a good way. My pita bread was excellent. The meat could've used a touch more seasoning, and the tzatziki was very tart--almost too tart for my taste--but still fresh and satisfying. The fries were perfect. My wife's pita burger was solid, though the meat seemed more like gyro meat than a traditional burger patty. But those onion rings? Fire. Crispy, golden, and totally addictive. We were genuinely impressed--and a little stunned, to be honest. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast and efficient, and the whole experience felt way above what I expected. Next time, I'm trying the fish. We saw a few plates go by and they looked incredible. To those about to nosh... we salute you!!
