This is the ribeye. That's how it was served. Take note the special care in plating and presentation.

They tried. This is just like benegans from the past. The steak was ...ok good. The pasta with Mussels were watery, as if the cook did not wait for the pasta dry off before adding the sauce, basic cooking 101. Service was good, but rushed, place was loud. Great beer menu.

We went to dinner at Safari tonight and there was a fly in our food. I normally would never leave a review for a restaurant even if we had a bad experience. However, the manager never came to our table to apologize and no discount was offered. We will not be returning .

I was really confused what the theme was walking in. The name safari made me think jungle but then it is a lot of random knickknacks and trinkets from decades before. I thought it was curious but was confused on the core identity. The main dictator was the live band that was honestly pretty good. Food itself was just okay but the dessert that is a slice of banana pudding cheesecake was amazing. Waitress was also fine nothing crazy. Wasn't the worst food but I wouldn't be sad never going again.

A number of years ago, even before we moved to Trilogy in Denver, we had dined at this restaurant a couple of times and it really was nothing to write home about. However, since we moved here, this is one of our normal Sunday Brunch spots and it had gotten to the point, that I should have upgraded my rating to probably a 4 Star. That is, until today. Normally we'll get a nice cup of hot potato soup to start with. The soup was just shy of being totally cold. Tepid at best. If I had wanted Vichyssoise, I would have ordered Vichyssoise. This is the reason we no longer patronize FATZ in Lincolnton because the soup is never hot. It gets worse. I ordered County Chicken with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Gravy with Fried Okra. All were lute warm at best. My wife had the Beef Tips and along with Okra and guess what, the same results. She did ask the server to take it back to the kitchen and throw it into the and heat it up. As for myself, I asked for a to go box and took it home and threw in the microwave to get it to the proper temperature. As for the rating, based on today's performance, I going to leave it at 2 stars. Big disappointment.

First time eating here and we absolutely loved it ! We love ordering The fried mushrooms as appetizer where ever we go and they were soooo good here, not greasy at all and my husband ordered the Cajun Alfredo pasta and it was sooo good! Everything was very tasty and good prices so we will be back !

    Reserved!

I cannot even express my frustration. We called to reserve a reservation because we needed special accommodations due to a health condition. When we arrived we were asked if a high top table was ok. When we called we told them where we would like to be seated (they even asked). I told them and their response was they had unexpected people show up. Is that not the whole point of making a reservation? Am I crazy because as we were leaving there was a table being reserved! The food was ok and service was good but we ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes due to the issue.

My server was amazing as we (Im)patiently waited for him. I ordered the roasted beet tower to start. Finely diced marinated beets with a thin slice of goat cheese topped with mixed greens and a vinaigrette. This dish tasted so fresh! My husband's only complaint was chasing the tiny beets around the plate (first world problems) I chose to have a cup of their creamy chicken soup. No rice, no potato filler - cream based, fresh chicken mushrooms and carrots danced around my mouth. Topped with Gruyère (I think) each bite was like a rich warm hug from grandma Our entrees arrived in a timely manner - him having the ahi tuna poke bowl. He chose to substitute the rice for mixed greens. He devoured the entree and noted the tuna being sweet for the longer sear - his fault, he forgot to ask for it to be cooked extremely rare or done raw, poke style as it was to be a poke bowl which is typically served raw. I chose the harvest bowl. A base of rice and quinoa topped with Brussel sprouts, beets, greens, goat cheese, and butternut squash. I chose to add grilled shrimp. Holy cow. I felt like all of the vegetables were home grown from the chef's garden. Perfectly roasted and seasoned. An impressive rice/quinoa topped vegetable ratio exceeded all expectations!!!

We didn't use it on this visit, but they offer valet service, which is useful because of the parking congestion that can occur at Birkdale. My first impression was that this is a very beautiful restaurant. There is lots of lighting, thoughtful artistic pieces, and it has an airy, aquatic ambiance. Even the restrooms were lovely! There is an outdoor patio, as well as a front dining area where the bar is, and a rear dining area with visibility to the kitchen. The front and rear areas are separated by a glass waterfall sign bearing the restaurant's name. We had an absolute outstanding server named Saige. She was attentive and made great recommendations for us. To start, we had Caesar salads. The presentation of these was unique, having somewhat of a ruffled appearance. For the second course, we tried the sautéed shrimp with Cajun spice and charred bread as well as bacon wrapped scallops with Calabrian tomato jam. Finally, for the third course, we had the hanger steak with blue cheese butter and new potatoes. I love blue cheese, and I really loved it as an addition to this dish. Every item I tried, I would order again. Unfortunately, we didn't save room for dessert, but we've heard they are fantastic...next time! After dinner, we went and sat at the bar for a little while, and the staff there was just as delightful. Dining here was a whole experience that I plan to repeat again in the future!

A little slow to start (perhaps we threw off their rhythm)...but went on for a great meal. Nice selection of reasonably priced and interesting wines by the glass. We started with the crab dip which is served with a lot of delicious focaccia. Truth is, that might have been enough...but we continued! She had the scallops, and I the swordfish. Both really outstanding. The swordfish in particular was impressive -- sizable and thick filet that was, nonetheless, not dry in the least. It's pricey. It's hard to get in to. Just a step above. On a whim, my wife and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. I hadn't been to a Showmars in probably 20 years, and honestly, I'd forgotten what it was like. I ordered the traditional gyro with fries, and my wife had the All-American Pita Burger with onion rings. You order at the counter, find a seat, and then they bring your food out on real plates--actual dishes you have to wash. I was shocked. In a good way. My pita bread was excellent. The meat could've used a touch more seasoning, and the tzatziki was very tart--almost too tart for my taste--but still fresh and satisfying. The fries were perfect. My wife's pita burger was solid, though the meat seemed more like gyro meat than a traditional burger patty. But those onion rings? Fire. Crispy, golden, and totally addictive. We were genuinely impressed--and a little stunned, to be honest. The restaurant was clean, the service was fast and efficient, and the whole experience felt way above what I expected. Next time, I'm trying the fish. We saw a few plates go by and they looked incredible. To those about to nosh... we salute you!!

It's perfect for gathering with a group as they give you a number tent and the server/food runner brings you the food as soon as it is prepared. In my opinion, this prevents food from sitting in the windows and getting cold cause "it's not my table." The concept of gathering your own utensils (not plastic) is spot on as it allows those who only want to drink and sit and socialize not feel pressured to order a full sit down meal, thus washing cutlery that's never been used. For this most recent visit, I took advantage of their snow-weather special: $30 for 1 dozen raw oysters as well as their lobster Mac and cheese.
