What a cute family owned restaurant! Inside consists of many tables and booths. The hostess told us that we could seat ourselves and menus were already at the table. We came in wanting breakfast! Our waitress was friendly and funny the entire time. All of the entrees were delicious! This is your typical little Greek diner starting with the owner manning the cash register directly beside the entrance. The nostalgic dining area is open and comfortable, the servers are friendly and attentive and the menu is expansive. It had an impressive 98 sanitation score. Breakfast is offered all day, of course, and portions are generous. Maybe it's due to its lake area location, but it does seem a little pricier than other Greek joints that I have frequented, as most menu items start at around $10. I ordered the Chicken Tips Pita and fries. The pita was loaded with chicken that was tasty but a bit dry. The pita bread itself was delicious (whether it was made in house or not) as was the tsiki sauce. The fries were better than most. My friend's chicken quesadilla was huge and, again, loaded with chicken, cheese, peppers and onions. It ran around $9. Most other customers chose breakfast, and what I saw, gave me food envy. Great diner food at extremely reasonable prices. The owner takes care of the customers as does his staff! They make you feel appreciated right from entering their quaint homey place! We have only had breakfast but their omelettes are great; the pancakes take up the whole plate and are fluffy and they know how to really cook a over medium egg! If you ask for crispy hashbrowns you get crispy- woohoo! The give you generous portions and make sure to keep your water glass full as well as your coffee! Today they even gave us a carafe! They cook their bacon perfectly and their turkey sausage has great flavor. We must be becoming a regular since some of the faces are starting to look familiar Today after several visits I did share one concern with the owner and he was very responsive in making sure it was corrected. I went out of town to visit family and my dad suggested the Westland Restaurant. I had went there once before and everything was great! It's a small diner with little seating, I went on a Wednesday so there weren't meant people there. simply decorated with great service. The server checked on us and never let you coffee get cold. For breakfast I had the BIGGEST piece of bologna I had ever seen (a little too much) with egg and cheese on a biscuit. Everything tasted really great and hot. I didn't finish the giant piece of meat but it was really good! Everyone enjoyed their meals, it was nice to have a simple breakfast near the lake. This is a great place on business 16 that is only opened for breakfast and lunch. Word of mouth and spectacular friendly service often result I long lines out the door particularly midmorning through noon on weekends. Breakfast are the way to go. Quick though made to order, the portions are large and the prices are low. It is hard to imagine anyone going away hungry. And they have a great version of my favorite: pork chop eggs complete with great potatoes and homemade toast. The lunch portions are also large and well priced. After a few years and many, many visits (I have probably checked in less than half of them), it's time to update my review for Westlake and upgrade them to 5 stars. Westlake is a breakfast favorite when I am visiting my parents in Denver, and it dawned on me during this morning's visit that of the 50+ meals I have had here, I have never had a bad meal. Not one. I asked my parents, who visit a lot more often than I do, if they have ever had a bad meal to fact check my assumption and like me, they have also never had a bad meal at Westlake. They have lunch at Westlake fairly often as well. What prompted this dialogue? Believe it or not, the bologna sandwich. When the super thick cut bologna sandwich hit the table this morning, which I had never seen, I thought "Jesus, that looks amazing. Are these people amazing at EVERYTHING?!" Turns out yep, pretty much. Though I have had many things on the Westlake menu, the liver mush is still my go-to. I typically alternate between having it two ways: as a plate with two eggs, fresh fruit on the side, and sourdough toast, or as a sandwich on white toast with egg, cheese, mustard, and mayo. You really can't go wrong either way if you're a liver mush fan. Westlake also has really good coffee. No, it is isn't flavored froo froo coffee. It's the kind that's black, comes in a mug, and you get a server frequently asking "Wanna warm up, honey?" Why yes, yes I do. I have noticed some of the negative reviews criticizing the service as slow. I have likely had more meals at Westlake than all of those people combined, and I have never noticed that myself. You do need to understand that this is THE breakfast spot on the Denver side of the lake and they do get very busy on the weekends. The servers are always hustling, and it is never slow to the point of frustration. If you are in such a diabolical hurry that you cannot afford the time to sit down in a cooked to order-style southern diner, do you really need to be here? Westlake isn't, after all, fast food. read more

Use to go there a lot but on two different occasions I witnessed the son who runs the business embarrass one of the waitresses in front of the restaurant crowd to where she was upset and crying. Then on another visit when I was checking out one waitress came up to the owner who happened to be standing by the register and explained to him that the cook made the wrong omelette and the customer didn't want that one. He stated to remake the omelette to the one ordered he ordered but charge him for the wrong one because it was more money to make. Pretty petty and dishonest especially when it was the cooks fault. Never ate there again and do not recommend. We go to Stacy's which always has a great atmosphere and their food is so much better. To the owners reply, this took place about 5 months ago so you may not recall these incidents but they did occur. The waitress happened to be the waitress serving us and when she came back to our table she was in tears. As far as comping the meal that wasn't done. We distinctively heard you tell the waitress to charge them for the higher priced item. read more

Maybe because of frustration with another restaurant we tried to dine at, I now give Westlake a 5 star rating. Food has always been good but customer service is outstanding. Last Sunday, our friends were getting ready to drive back to Ohio and we went out to brunch. We first tried another restaurant in the area and they had no concept of restaurant management and controlling traffic, we left after 10 minutes of watching a disaster in process. Drove north on Hwy 16 to Westlake and were not disappointed. For Sunday brunch, they have it down to a science. Not the proper table configuration? No problem. Tables and chairs can be moved to meet the current needs. Food is typical diner and very good. Recommend the pork chops. Very good, moist and meaty with great flavor which is hard to achieve with pork. Highly recommend for a good Sunday brunch read more

Sad with regret for my experience with this establishment. My first time ordering over the phone for pick service from this restaurant. I've never experienced such poor presentation of breakfast.. If I knew my breakfast eggs sausage and hash browns would be put all together like a burrito I would not have patronized this place. The cheese was melted on my sausage and hash browns were melted into my eggs. Also let me add the food was not good at all. When I called to ask about this the owner or manger was extremely rude. He even had the audacity to tell me that's how they do things. Well NP I won't be back and maybe this treatment is a ethnic issue! read more

Love this place. Been here twice and my breakfast has been on point. They have that country small town vibe and you can tell who the regulars are as the servers greet them with a small and call them by their first names. Last time I was here I got 2 eggs over medium with a side of livermush and a country ham biscuit. This time I got a livermush and egg sandwich and a gravy biscuit. Our servers both times were extremely nice and polite.
