Very underwhelming. My reviews on breakfast places is always can I make a better simple breakfast at home? It's so expensive to eat out, I really want it to be worth it. This was not. I got the corn beef hash. No flavor or seasoning. Had to add salt, pepper and hot sauce to give it any semblance of flavor. Tina got the oatmeal. It was fine. No fruit or anything included. When she asked for some on the side, they were "all out".. of fruit..!! Coffee was weak and mediocre. Service was ok. Love the atmosphere and outdoor seating. Such a delicious breakfast spot! I called to see what the wait was and I was told there were tables available! When we got there, we were seated immediately even though they were very busy! I was happy to see that they were busy because that usually is a good sign that the food is delicious! Our waitress came and took our drink order quickly and we did notice a sign on the door saying they were short staffed and to be patient. You could tell they were working as hard as they could. Our food came out fast and it was amazing! My western omelette with American cheese, ham, peppers and onions with toast and hashbrowns was great! New to the area and looking for a comfortable and tasty breakfast/lunch spot and I think I struck gold! I've eaten here twice so far, once for breakfast and once for lunch. This was our first visit to Sunrise Cafe, and I truly believe that five stars it's not enough. Every bit of the food was excellent. The service was super friendly and on point with a total team effort in terms of checking in on us, warming up our coffee, etc. I had the corned beef hash with two perfect over easy eggs and a side of sausage links because... well just because. My wife had a traditional Eggs Benedict and we had to try a piece of French toast as a side. That last comment brings me to one more five star point. It seems like you can get almost everything on the menu as a side, which allows a lot of creativity to mix and match to get exactly what you want. Tried this restaurant for the first time today and for a first time, it was OK. Torn between 3 and 4 stars however. Arrived at about 11 am on a rainy Saturday Morning and were promptly seated and given menu's. No one came to even acknowledge us much less take our beverage order for 10 minutes. Our server finally came and took our beverage order. I ordered black coffee and my wife ordered Cappuccino. Came out in about 5 minutes but no one took our order and we even had one server come by and refill my coffee before anyone took out order. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Hash Browns and Eggs over well. My wife orders a Farmers Pot Pie over Hash Browns as her Breakfast. Took awhile for breakfast to come out but not an unreasonable length of time. My wife loved her Farmer Pot Pie and declared it a keeper. Maybe I'm too picky but I found my Steak to a bit on the overdone side and while I like my Hash Browns some what on the crispy side, these were underdone in my opinion but again a matter of taste. They don't do the greatest job on Social Distancing but they do an outstanding job on sanitation between customers. Biggest reason for the 3 as opposed to a 4 rating was the service and granted it was at a busy time so will give it another shot later to see if it gets better. They are relatively new and hopefully they are learning as they go. read more

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and had no trouble getting seated. Even though there was a sign asking for patience as they were understaffed I didn't feel like service skipped a beat. The food was delicious and our Waitress kept the coffee cup full. It's a cute diner, no fuss no frills but good service, prices and yummy food. This tiny gem was packed during brunch time. It was worth the wait and the food was out quick. A little wait to get a table here normally but the restaurant is cute and the food is on a fancier level. Great presentation and so delicious! We love going there on Saturdays. One thing I don't like is the artificial creamers for the coffee is banned in other countries. I feel the greasiness in my cup. And the cappuccino comes in a tiny cup if I get that instead do it's a lose lose. Other than that we enjoy our time there and the staff is friendly. read more

Then when I ordered The Works omelet with no onions I was told she can ask them to put less onions but if I wanted no onions I would have to order the omelet a-la-cart. So, if I want one less item in the omelet I had to pay $2 more... two weeks later I am still confused. This must be a limitation to their POS system. Staff and food are great. Over heard the owner speaking to the staff on two separate occasions. He doesn't seem the nicest or most respectful of his employees. Not sure if it was just a bad day for him or what but it certainly made us question going back. However the staff themselves make up for it with their kindness and positive energy. We really like this place. The portions and flavors are great. I was a bit thrown by how BIG the french toast pieces actually are. It is definitely a unique take on french toast. What I can tell you is that they make it work. It is light and flavorful and they manage to achieve a beautiful consistency with it. By far one of my favorite breakfast places out here, it's right next to 24 hour fitness. The staff is very friendly and sweet. It can get crowded on Sundays after service (church) is finished. But if you want to come here during the week, when it is not busy I would try them out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Went here for the first time for breakfast this morning. Food was your average breakfast food (nothing special), service was lacking/slow unless you are a regular which we were not. What got us was the fact that the menu quotes one price however when my husband went to pay and questioned the amount for 2 basic breakfasts and was told the prices have gone up. I'm sorry if the prices have increased that would be something worth sharing! We paid $6 more than what was listed on their menu, definitely NOT worth the price we paid. We ate there Friday, September 2, 2022. We were a party of 4. We waited nearly 1 hour from arriving to being served. Do not go if your in a hurry, otherwise phone in your order. Was very disappointed with the Polish Sausage breakfast. Received it cold, pointed it out to the server who returned to the kitchen to have it reheated. She returned with it, but it had been deep fried. Disgusting. It was dripping with oil, crunchy, and tasted absolutely nasty. I refused it and requested link sausage instead. I also mentioned to the server never deep fry polish sausage. I wasn't charged for my meal, which was the right thing to do, but so what. To me, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
