Great Place, Food and Drink and Ambience is good. I would recommend and go back again and again.

Food was excellent, service was great. We were able to have a private room for our ladies lunch and it was thoroughly enjoyable!

This Foundry is settled within a country club/55+ community - I wasn't sure what to expect but it's very modern and well set up. We were able to be seated without a reservation. I tried the mango martini and loved how fresh it tasted. We got the whipped ricotta as an appetizer - big fan of the pairing with honey but the chives were a bit overpowering IMO. For dinner I had the chicken wrap with house fries, and my husband had the burnt ends, which were very tender. Estimate $30-$40 per person, not unreasonable - we enjoyed everything we ordered and would eat here again. read more

We tried this place today looking for a more upscale experience. Well well well. We found a pool bar. A place for a burger and a beer after playing in a pool. It took 10 minutes to be seated, the hostess was nice but Slow. So we stood in front of a freaking fireplace that was on in August. (Singing)....Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..... the server was friendly. Big warning!! The menu has items marked as Gluten Free, that are NOT!!! The steak Fritz has fries in the same oil as they fry wheat products. So please question the menu and don't trust it. That type of incompetence is hard to ignore. The food when it did come out ( don't be in a rush, it was a long wait.... ) was good. Not worth the wait, not worth almost dying. The smoked shrimp cocktail was interesting, the shrimp was overcooked and the cocktail sauce was very very sweet. The kale pesto was sooo bad. And such a small serving. Overcooked pasta, unseasoned pesto, and the kale makes it so bad. Impressive to make pesto bad. The French dip was average. read more

Forget it. Tonight was supposed to be Sushi Night and it was a joke and the epitome of bad service. Wife signed me up for a Sushi Dinner catered by Cool Fish in Cornelius which is a favorite. Bottom line is had a glass of wine at the bar, went to the Event Center and was send back to the Foundry to were I sat at the bar and when I asked the Bartender what did I need to do to get served. She told me I needed to be seated at a table with a server. Moved to an empty table and finally a server appeared and offered to move me to another table with others or I could be seated at the Bar.??? Brought out edame with Wasabe and another glass of wine. Almost a hour later, Still no Sushi. Told the manager, I'm out of here. His response was the traditional, It's coming out now, 10 minutes, everything is made fresh. I can't believe this place is in a 55+ community. When my friend told me she made a reservation here, I was mildly apprehensive. How good can dinner be in a retirement community? My pineapple martini with plantation rum, pineapple liquor, and lime juice was soooo good on a humid summer night. So was today's "bartender's special". My friend ordered one and can't drink a lot, so she asked me to finish hers and I don't look gift horses in the mouth. Of course I drank it. They had a ratatouille served on a bed of polenta as a special. It was pretty liquidy, but it was really good. The short rib pot roast was cooked perfectly and I loved the demi-glace with the garlic mashed potatoes. The carrots were a bit underdone though. A comment that everyone who ordered it made. The restaurant was a nice modern atmosphere. Nothing about it said "retirement community". Service was great. This place is a great option in this sleepy area outside of Charlotte. read more

We made reservations at The Foundry to take our neighbors to because we had a wonderful experience. With reservations we still had to wait 15-20 minutes. When we finally got a table it was not set with tableware and had to ask for water. We needed up having to go to the bar to get water ordered and tableware when the food finally came. I must have to say that the food was great and we'd love to say that we'd be back. read more

After living in Denver for 2 years- it was time to finally try The Foundry! It's tucked in a neighborhood as I'm sure you've read. It's right across from East Lincoln High School. You do need to go through a gate and they have to let you in through a checkpoint of sorts. One side says members- make sure you go to the guests side. A worker will let you through. Once you get through the gate, it's easy to find! Tons and tons of parking as it's also a golf course there. The restaurant entrance didn't seem to be clearly labeled, but it's in the middle. The grounds are beautiful! It's a 55+ community and definitely resort living. I'd want to check it out someday! We made a reservation (it was Friday night) but we didn't seem to need it. The hostess was friendly and sat us to our booth. I heard that it wasn't super kid friendly (because of the location) but after looking at the menu and saw a whole kids menu we decided to try it. Our server did take a few minutes to come over, but once he did, he was attentive. Wings- we got the dry rub. My husband loved them. I thought they would be better with sauce. If we go back I'd try them again with sauce because they were a good size and I liked the crunch! The blue cheese was also good and seemed to be homemade. Wedge salad- lots of blue cheese, could've had more lettuce for $10. Pizza- My kids got this as their meal. It was undercooked so the crust was not crispy on the bottom. It was 3/5. We didn't say anything because it was for them and they do not care haha. Peruvian Chicken- not what I expected but it was good. I saw some other photos on Yelp that looked a little different but it's always hard to tell. This is chicken on the bone which I never love as a heads up. It's a chicken breast with about 1/4 a cup of rice and very few vegetables. Not worth the $22 once I saw it in person. Pot roast- this was my husband's dish. If he don't have an appetizer and salad before he would've complained about the tiny portion size. I'd estimate it was about 3oz of beef, 1 piece of broccoli, 1 piece of carrot, some green beans and potatoes (see photo). Again- questionable if it's worth the price which I think was $21 or $22. Cookie skillet- Delish and my kids wanted more as usual! Ice cream was good too! We also got a glass of house wine ($9) and a beer ($6). The best deal was the kids drinks, they were only $1! The entree portion sizes are questionable for the cost. Maybe because of being in a 55+ community? Not sure ... but definitely a great option in Denver for something other than bar food. The service here needs improvement. The consistency of checking on tables, asking for anything, drink re-fills, etc is not meeting expectations for the prices. The food is hit or miss depending on what you get. The Salmon Burger and Burger are good choices. read more

Almost awesome--but really REALLY good! Country club atmosphere. Tucked in a 55+ community. Didn't need a reservation, but they asked if we had one. Server was fairly attentive--drinks were empty a couple of times. The harvest salad was awesome! Really well balanced with spiced apples, goat cheese, candied pecans--absolutely yummy. The crab crusted salmon was really tasty, however the parsnip puree wasn't so great. Too sweet. Burnt ends were smoky but kind of bizarre to have them served in a sauce. The mac and cheese was epic! Finally a restaurant that does it right. Collards were ok--could have used more vinegar. Overall, really happy with the place. If the food didn't have some shortcomings at $30/plate, I'd be giving 5/5. For that price I was hoping for better overall but man it was good! They were out of a couple things, like the pot roast and grouper. Also the parking lot is kind of confusing to get out of at night just go alllllllll the way left. read more

We came here to celebrate my birthday on a calm Sunday evening. Very nice and comfortable environment! Very friendly staff. Food was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their meals and appetizers! We had a party of 7 with 3 children under 6! The staff was very accommodating and helpful! Specifically Stephanie our waitress did an amazing job helping us understand the menu, recommending good choices and checking in on us early and often! We sat inside but did see the outside is very nice also! Highly recommend this restaurant anyone celebrating anything or wanting just a nice dinner outside of uptown clt. read more

I loved the ambiance of this place. I think this is a hidden gem since it's located in a 55+ community. However the prices of the food is fabulous and you get great value. This place is only two years old so the interior is very modern and looks like a hotel. The dining area has big booths that seat 7+ comfortably even though it was just the 2 of us. They have a bar area and I've never seen it get too full where you can grab a seat. They have a large alcohol selection and a good menu. We ordered a couple of appetizers, an entree each, and two desserts. I loved every single dish. I would definitely come back. read more

It is freezing in there! When asked whether there was mustard in their gold sauce, the server said "no". My friend ordered the chicken and mini waffles and asked again if the sauce had mustard in it. She again said no. She is allergic to mustard. The chicken came smothered in the gold sauce which had mustard in it. The food had to be sent back. My friend asked for a different sauce and the manager said it would be an up charge. Are you kidding? You screwed up the order and then you're going to charge her for a different sauce? Another friend had the breakfast pizza. It was totally burnt on one side. She didn't send it back though. She asked for hot tea and the server didn't know what kind of tea they had, and we had to suggest to her that she bring out a box of teas out so she could choose one. I had the omelet. It was ok but slightly overcooked. The server never came back for refills. Very disappointing. read more

We originally stopped in here as a friend highly recommended it to us. We didn't know that it was in a 55+ community, but that doesn't even matter. Their pizza is some of the best (wood fired) pizza we have had, in the whole Charlotte area. We have tried a few other items and appetizers, but we keep going back to the pizza. The building is even nice to walk around, afterwards, to walk your meal off :) We were bummed that they closed for some time (for non members due to COVID), but they just re-opened up, and they have a limited menu, but the pizza is still on there. The employees are super friendly, and the atmosphere is great, as well. read more

We come here a decent amount and that's why the review isn't 1 star...normally the food and service are kept at a decently high standard. Last night was the worst dining experience I've had over the last few years. The restaurant was maybe 50% full, guessing due to staffing issues (understandable, but everyone is dealing with that). Took 15 minutes to get our drinks, which didn't make a lot of sense considering they were just beers. The appetizers were good (as usual, again this was just a bizarre night). The major issues started to happen with the entrees...my wife ordered the red grouper, $26. Came out absolutely raw in the center, which tells me it's frozen. Waitress took it back, didn't apologize or anything, and just began to walk away. We stopped her and asked if my wife could get something else, she rolled her eyes and said sure. Salmon came out 15 mins later, teetering on raw again but edible. We needed another set of silverware since the first ones were taken away with the grouper, waitress said no problem and then immediately went to the computer and proceeded to stand there for 5 mins. Need to prioritize tasks!!! I waited tables for years and this was pathetic, she had 3 total tables to deal with. We just grabbed a set from another table, since she never came back with any... Then we got to the bill...she had a 10 top that she was individually splitting, and spent 20 mins (not an exaggeration) at the computer attempting to split it, even as it was obvious that the two smaller tables were ready to leave. Eventually came over to both and said "hi their checks are going to take a while, I'll do yours now". Ended up bringing our checks (nothing was accurate but we just wanted to get out of there) and rolled her eyes again as we paid. Probably shouldn't be splitting 10 tops to begin with but that's just bad policy. It's very nice having a restaurant that we enjoy so close to home, but another visit like this and we won't ever be back. read more

What a great experience! This is a gated community. Stopped at their gate and asked if we could go to their restaurant. The gatehouse attendant was very pleasant and let us in. We walked into the restaurant and was seated by the manager, Nina. A very nice, accommodating woman. Certainly an asset to The Foundry. Our meals were all excellent. I tried their meatball app. These meatballs are house made, coated with a delicious marinara sauce. I was loving them! Others ordered beautiful salads and fish and chips. This is a beautiful restaurant but the lighting is excessive...they need lower wattage bulbs or dimmers in multiple areas that allows diners to see the menu/food but would make their atmosphere feel more relaxed. We had a lovely service experience by Jennifer which included a visit by a manager. The menu has a nice depth of offerings and the chef has clearly put a great deal of thought into the menu. We had calabash shrimp appetizer which included large crispy large shrimp with a slaw of vegetables and cilantro sauce...excellent. The Brussel sprout salad was highly recommended but we felt was a bit heavy, dry, lacking the punch of acid normally found in salads. For main courses we ordered the Spicy Italian pizza (aka meat lovers) which had a lovely light crust but there was an excessive quantity of toppings which made it heavy and challenging to eat. The wood grilled salmon was a bit cool and overcooked and the dish had an array of ingredients and sauces which felt a bit heavy handed. You can see the kitchen team puts a tremendous amount of work into their offerings but would probably benefit from some simplification of the dishes that allows the cooks to deliver excellence and take this restaurant from good to great. read more
