Baked goods

I like the pickled peach, their sandwiches, like the Rueben and the cornmeal shrimp, can be amazing. However, I think most choices are just okay. They have very fresh ingredients which you can tell their baked goods - amazing, every single one I've had is good. Service I would say is always friendly but average. Ambience, can get really busy.

Really enjoyed a stop into this place while visiting Davidson on a weekend. Loved the interior and it was tough to pick a sandwich as they all sounded good. The seating is all outside on their patio, it was a lovely day so we enjoyed it, but I imagine it gets hot in the summer/cold in winters. It was really lively on a Sunday around 1130. We enjoyed a pulled chicken sandwich and got the veggies and hummus for our daughter (who's obsessed with hummus). I also got a cinnamon and sugar donut that was ok. It was a brioche style donut and I was expecting more of the cake style for that donut. My daughter loved that too though. Everything was delicious, will definitely be returning.

Positive experience as so many others stated. In addition to the great food, service was great. They sell lots of local products. I'd like to come back to shop. Right next to the farmers market. Parking is limited. My husband liked the cookie he had so much he bought more to take home. Clean bathroom. I'd love to come back.

This is my second time coming here. Such a cute lunch spot for me and my best friends. I am gluten free and I love how many options I have including desserts.

Great food, Kale Caesar and halloumi salad. Good wine bottle. And when you say avocado -- bam. ** to all the restaurants in America, generous avocado says "we care, we appreciate good veggies, etc". Look at this pic!!

The town of Davidson holds many unique restaurants and stores. The Pickled Peach is one such venue. It's a little bit hidden on the side of a building off Main Street but Goggle maps will take you straight to it. You order everything at the counter and they'll bring it out to you when it's ready. They have limited indoor seating but a fairly large covered porch. I thought the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with our questions. Our sandwiches were good but not on the bread they said it came on and mine was toasted way too much but I didn't send it back. I just cut off what was not worth eating. They would probably garner another star had the sandwich been correct because at the higher end of pricing on a sandwich with a very small side I want the quality to be checked off on all the boxes. We also got a dessert and those were very good.

This was somehow our first time at the pickled peach and it did not disappoint! I got the falafael salad and my boyfriend got the grilled cheese. We both also got strawberry acai smoothies. The food is delicious and you can tell it's fresh. The smoothies are real ingredients as well, so if you're craving the processed/sugary type of smoothie this may not be for you but I personally loved it. They also have a kids menu, although we didn't have any children/people with us who ordered from it. The servers were all extremely nice and efficient with orders, service, etc. Even though it was busy from the farmers market (Saturday morning), our food came out relatively quickly and the tables were cleaned and turned over quickly. Overall great atmosphere! If you haven't been before, you order at the counter and then go find a seat. Your food will be brought to you once prepared.

Corned beef - needed more meat, but still tasty

Great spot to bring out of towners, everything we have tried on the menu is great! One of our favorite places in Davidson.

Set right in downtown Davidson across from Davidson College, the atmosphere strikes that perfect balance--lively but still intimate. The menu evolves frequently, so what we saw differed from what's posted online--but that turned out to be part of the charm. Everything sounded appealing, and choosing wasn't difficult. Our server stood out immediately--deeply knowledgeable and able to walk through each dish with impressive detail, right down to preparation. It's easy to see why Kindred earned "Recommended" status in the inaugural Michelin Guide American South and continues to be recognized for top-tier hospitality and cuisine. We started with the Little Gem lettuce salad--fresh, bright, and elevated by the perfect crunch and subtle richness of pistachios. For my entrée, I had the rigatoni with guanciale, English peas, and pecorino sardo--rich, balanced, and full of flavor without being heavy. A memorable meal all around.

My cousin had something with gin and sage and her husband had an herbaceous drink with bourbon. Flavorful, light and refreshing! Everyone was happy.

We had an 8:00 reservation but opted to sit at the bar as it's a rare occurrence for us. I couldn't decide what I wanted and asked the bartenders what they would recommend. I ended up opting for a lovely French wine. We ordered an appetizer and split a pork dish. At the end of our meal I asked for an appertif of sambuca and a bread pudding. To which the bartender told me we were going to "tap the brakes"...?? I was honestly confused about being cut off after one drink with meals served and a bar that was half empty and truly it made me upset. While I understand the responsibility of not over-serving, you also have the responsibility of being right about your judgement to which was wrong. We ended up leaving and spending our money elsewhere, a place where I was served because I was not in fact drunk. I was trying to enjoy a few drinks on a date. Be better flat iron.

We ordered spinach artichoke dip and chicken tenders for the kids. We were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. The appetizer was good, but nothing amazing. The chicken tenders were big and flavorful. Yet, the fries definitely stole the show. I'm not a fan of shoestring fries, but they were seasoned so well that I didn't mind. While our appetizer and kids' meals came out quickly, our entrees were a little slow to arrive. I ordered the salmon and fries, since I could steal any more from the kiddos. The salmon was a decent portion and seasoned nicely. However, it was slightly over cooked. Overall, the experience was good.

The hostess greeted us immediately upon walking in and showed us to our table. Their kids menu is nice and simple (burger, tenders, grilled cheese and even salmon). My kiddos chose the classic chicken tenders and fries. Their meals came out pretty quickly. Each plate came with three large tenders and a very generous amount of fries (which were well seasoned and tasted great). My husband and I started with the Spinach & Artichoke Dip. It was nice and warm and was also a great portion size. It would probably be sufficient for four people to share. The entrees took a while to come out, but in their defense, they got really busy. For my entree, I tried the Shrimp New Orleans. The presentation was great and again, it was a nice side. Although the meal tasted fine, I'm not sure about "the best on the menu". The service was great. All staff members were professional and attentive. The dining room and restrooms were clean. I love the patio and breezeway seating for nice days. Overall, I enjoyed our visit.

Chef Erick + team take every measure to prevent cross contamination for those with allergies - whether seafood or gluten. I also love the way their set up is: order your drinks from king canary, order your food from the Marlee Jeans side. It's perfect for gathering with a group as they give you a number tent and the server/food runner brings you the food as soon as it is prepared. In my opinion, this prevents food from sitting in the windows and getting cold cause "it's not my table." The concept of gathering your own utensils (not plastic) is spot on as it allows those who only want to drink and sit and socialize not feel pressured to order a full sit down meal, thus washing cutlery that's never been used. For this most recent visit, I took advantage of their snow-weather special: $30 for 1 dozen raw oysters as well as their lobster Mac and cheese. Coming out hot and bubbly with a cheese crust, I had to wait for the Mac and cheese to cool off to eat. I sat at the raw bar and watched Chef Erick personally shuck my oysters. My short rib quesadilla was just as flavorful though I think I prefer the short rib panini instead.

I originally wanted sweet tea (sadly they didn't have any ), so I switched it up and ordered their spicy Bloody Mary instead... and WOW. Holy moly, it was GOOD. Easily the highlight of the meal for me. We tried a few different things -- the tuna wontons, burrata salad with shrimp, panini, and potato wedges. The presentation was great and everything was decent, but the food itself was just okay overall. Atmosphere and drinks definitely carried the experience for me. Giving this one 4 stars because the vibe was really nice, patio was dog-friendly, and that Bloody Mary deserves its own shoutout.

We came in on a Saturday night for my friend's son's birthday with a 6:30 reservation for six people and didn't receive our food until nearly 8:30--almost a full three hours later. It was very clear the restaurant was severely understaffed, with only two servers handling the entire dining room and no bartender. Our server, Linda, truly did everything she could and remained kind and attentive despite the situation, but it was simply too much for one person to manage. Unfortunately, when the food finally arrived, it only added to the frustration. None of the steaks were cooked correctly, and the food was not served at an appropriate temperature. The only items anyone in our group really enjoyed were the shrimp appetizer and the French onion soup. At that point, after such a long wait, we didn't even feel it was worth sending anything back. This situation felt completely avoidable with proper staffing and management. While we appreciate Linda's effort, the overall experience was unacceptable, especially for what was meant to be a special birthday celebration, and prices of food! The only reason I gave two stars instead of one is because Linda tried her hardest!

Our waitress was sweet and I felt bad for her as she had to apologize multiple times for the wait. Assuming the issue was in the kitchen? Starters were pretty basic and followed the same theme as the rest of our meal; not put together well but nice concept. Brussels sprouts were cooked perfectly but the cheese (which was awesome) was more of a garnish than a part of the dish. There just wasn't enough for each bite. Lobster bisque was nice but the lobster was scarce and the pieces were unevenly cooked. The Steakhouse Salad was just a mess. Once again, bacon bits were not enough and the dressing was a quick blast across one half. Once the first half was eaten you were just chewing down dry lettuce. My steak was weirdly unseasoned. I mean some bites had some salt taste but for the most part it was just beef. And overcooked. Normally you can say "well, your ideas of med rare is different than..." Not this time. Very little pink and only in the middle. Demi-glaze was really good. Wife's catfish was just a mess. Batter was not bonded to the fish at all. The sauce was nice but...guess what? Only a small smear on one of the two pieces. Fish itself was super mushy. Scalloped potatoes were just mush as well and had no flavor at all. I asked for S&P and both the steak and potatoes became marginally better. Bananas Foster...not it at all. I'm not in the kitchen so I can't say for sure but I don't believe a flame or drop of rum touched this little fella. It was a plate of bananas with ice cream. Everything without exception felt unbalanced and rushed.
