On our way from Boston to Charlotte to spend the Fourth of July weekend with friends in Winston-Salem, we stopped at Pickled Peach, and we're so glad we did. We loved the name, and it's easy to see why it's a local favorite. The place has a lot of charm, and everyone was welcoming, cheerful, and accommodating. We liked the casual setup - you can grab a local beer from the fridge, order at the counter, find a spot on the covered patio, and they'll bring your smoothies and food to you. Everything was fresh and delicious, and our kids enjoyed their meals too. The salads were a little different from what was listed on the menu because they use what's fresh that day, but they were still really good, and the dressing was amazing. Before heading home, we picked up a crumble, a snickerdoodle, and a dried cherry chocolate chunk cookie. So glad we did, they were all delicious! read more

Mouthwatering sandwiches, soups, and salads with high quality ingredients served in a quaint atmosphere featuring a spacious outdoor seating area nestled in "downtown" Davidson. This little spot screams Southern Charm and hits every mark for me. They were absolutely slammed midday on a weekday, so prepare for that! They get through the orders seamlessly though. Only one bathroom and a pretty substantial line for it, so again, just prepare! I can't imagine you'd go wrong with any food item here. I had the Burrata salad which was outstanding. My friend had the Chopped Butter Lettuce. We also ordered the Pesto Orzo Pasta Salad which may not be an every day option but yum!! It absolutely should be. Really enjoyed a stop into this place while visiting Davidson on a weekend. Loved the interior and it was tough to pick a sandwich as they all sounded good. The seating is all outside on their patio, it was a lovely day so we enjoyed it, but I imagine it gets hot in the summer/cold in winters. It was really lively on a Sunday around 1130. We enjoyed a pulled chicken sandwich and got the veggies and hummus for our daughter (who's obsessed with hummus). I also got a cinnamon and sugar donut that was ok. It was a brioche style donut and I was expecting more of the cake style for that donut. My daughter loved that too though. Everything was delicious, will definitely be returning. read more

I happy to report I visited The Pickled Peqch and believe it's the sweetest spot with the sweetest patio in the most charming town of Davidson, NC! We landed in Charlotte and were in search of lunch when I found The Pickled Peach through Yelp. We split a sandwich (white bean hummus with avocado on toasted sourdough) and salad (grilled chicken). We washed it down with some unsweetened tea. I would do it all over again (every morsel!) again and again! I'm sorry there are no pictures- I was so hungry after traveling all day that I forgot. :) Extra notes: The staff members were oh so friendly and helpfu! I really wanted this place to be good, especially since several of the reviews seemed positive. Sadly, we were very disappointed in the food even though the servers were very lovely. We both had sandwiches and there is a lot of bread but not a lot of filling. The soup of the day was butternut squash and it tasted like it had been warmed over a bit. The town of Davidson holds many unique restaurants and stores. The Pickled Peach is one such venue. It's a little bit hidden on the side of a building off Main Street but Goggle maps will take you straight to it. You order everything at the counter and they'll bring it out to you when it's ready. They have limited indoor seating but a fairly large covered porch. I thought the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with our questions. Our sandwiches were good but not on the bread they said it came on and mine was toasted way too much but I didn't send it back. I just cut off what was not worth eating. They would probably garner another star had the sandwich been correct because at the higher end of pricing on a sandwich with a very small side I want the quality to be checked off on all the boxes. I went to the Pickled Peach and got an iced caramel latte and the gluten-free Blue Ridge Mountain cookie. I thought the cookie was extremely good. Even if you are not gluten-free, I would still recommend it. In terms of the latte, it was just ok. I thought that there could have been more caramel flavoring because I couldn't taste it. When I return, I would love to get one of their delicious-looking salads and a pastry, skipping the coffee. I loved that the seating was all outside under a covered patio. This was somehow our first time at the pickled peach and it did not disappoint! I got the falafael salad and my boyfriend got the grilled cheese. We both also got strawberry acai smoothies. The food is delicious and you can tell it's fresh. The smoothies are real ingredients as well, so if you're craving the processed/sugary type of smoothie this may not be for you but I personally loved it. They also have a kids menu, although we didn't have any children/people with us who ordered from it. The servers were all extremely nice and efficient with orders, service, etc. Even though it was busy from the farmers market (Saturday morning), our food came out relatively quickly and the tables were cleaned and turned over quickly. My husband and I have eaten at Pickled Peach several times, and we've always enjoyed their soups and sandwiches. Their menu is interesting and somewhat unique, and we've tried several items, including with meat and vegetarian. Check their board for the three daily soups. We had their black bean and mushroom soup recently, and it was excellent. My favorite sandwich is the ham with brie and pickled peaches. The white bean hummus is also really good for a vegetarian option. But since I've started eating lower carb, I recently tried their halloumi salad. I've never had halloumi, but thought I'd give this Cyprus cheese a try. Halloumi is more like a salty version of feta. They slice it thinly and grill it, then add it to a salad with a delicious, yet light dressing. My favorite part is the lemon zest - wow, what flavor it adds! I definitely want to try their falafel next. My husband has had their meatball and corned beef sandwiches. He preferred the meatball over the corned beef, as their wasn't much meat on that sandwich, as is typical. But the cheese and toasted bread were so good! They have several beverage options, including our favorite Spindrift sparkling waters. Their dessert options are excellent! My only wish is that they'd stay open later, especially on weekends. Just. Mid. I am always left dissatisfied and still hungry. I think the portion sizes are small for the price, and the food feels rushed. I got a BLT from there and it was severely lacking. The lemon chicken soup was prob the best thing I ever had there (7.5/10) and it isnt even on the menu regularly. Their baked goods are yummy though, and the location is really nice. It's very rare for me to give bad reviews, especially in the case of place we've enjoyed for years - you can look at my other reviews to confirm. I ordered their roast beef w horseradish cream sandwich tonight as I have many times in the past. In the past the roast beef WAS pink, sliced thin and very tasty. TONIGHT it was grey, sliced thick, with gristle and fat - it was disgusting, I mostly just ate the bread. I'd chalk it up to a bad night and give them another chance, but that doesn't happen due to the inattention of one person. My wife said her turkey sandwich was 'just OK, i could make a better one.' She said The Pickled Peach hasn't been as good as it was for a long time. And I'd noticed she wasn't keen on going there the last few times. This place is such a gem for Davidson. The meatball sandwich is my absolute favorite. The bread is always toasty and the sauce ratio is perfect. The kids portion is great for my littles as are their strawberry or green smoothies. The BLT is also wonderful. This popular sandwich shop located on Main Street, offers homemade sandwiches, soups, salads. I wandered in to grab a sandwich for the road and was told to wait by the pickup window for my order. I waited over 40 minutes for the cornmeal shrimp sandwich which was pretty good, but not worth the long wait. The roll was fresh; however, the sandwich could have used a few more shrimp and less cornmeal breading. I noticed several people walking back and forth to the pickup window checking to see if their orders were ready. I really like this lovely soup/sandwich/salad place in Davidson. The place has a unique casual ambiance and the food is fresh. The service is always consistent and pleasant. The cafe fits very well into Davidson casual stroll atmosphere and is definitely a hidden gem. I have to complement on a variety of different drinks, good tea and good cappuccino. One of our favorite local lunch spots! I love that everything is homemade and different from what you can find at other restaurants. They have delicious vegetarian menu items. The desserts are the BEST and they offer several delicious gluten free options. Soups are always great! The braised beef sandwich never disappoints! The ham sandwich with pickled peaches on it is a comfort food for us! And even the turkey sandwich is simple and delicious! Their iced teas are so good. The first time you go, ordering can be a little tricky as there's a lot to look at before you get to the register. Service is always friendly. Seating is a large covered patio area/semi-outdoors. 2.5 stars but I'll round up. I came here on a cold rainy day, seeking sustinance and warmth in food form. What I found was just ok, definitely nothing to write home about, and writing this I'm wondering if it had been a nice day out, would I have been more disappointed? At any rate, I ordered the meatball sub, and was also able to try some of the fresh made soup(so perfect on a cold winter day!). The sub was underwhelming at best, the bread was reasonably soft and came out warm, but the actual meatballs were bland, the sauce tasted like it was barely there, and the cheese, while looking enticing, just floated on top of the sandwich without much to offer. Ultimately I didn't gag, but my mouth just felt bored, and like I overpaid for a meatball sub I could have gotten at Subway. The soup was much better, full of flavor, hearty and piping hot and just what the Dr. ordered on a cold day, if recommend that above the sub for sure. One point of interest that rankled me a bit, tips are sought when you pay for your meal, but then you have to buss your own table and pretty much serve yourself...not sure what the tip is for?? read more
