Moved to the area not long ago and had been eyeing the Pickled Peach as a great local spot. It didn't disappoint and actually exceeded our expectations! We got the southern BLT and shrimp Po Boy sandwiches, chips, beer & wine and coffees afterwards and were very happy with the food, service, cost and atmosphere. Insanely good sandwiches & desserts!! I got the hummus sandwich with Fresh mozzarella AND avocado. It's rare for me to bite into a Sammie and say "oh that's interesting", it's something so completely new and SO SO good. The bread is perfectly crisp. Like a fresh not heavy grilled Sammie. My husband got the shrimp sandwich and liked it pretty well, he just wasn't expecting it to be a little spicy. We both got desserts (the GF molly bar for me) and a chocolate cherry cookie for him. Both really sweet & balanced and hit the spot for us! They also have almond milk for lattes and they house make all their coffee syrups. I have had my eye on trying this spot out for a while and finally got to get over there after doing some holiday shopping in Davidson! Tucked away behind the cutest plant shop (Grow), is The Pickled Peach! A delightful spot to grab coffee, tea, soups, salads, sandwiches, and tasty bakery goods. On my visit, we ordered an oat milk latte, cornmeal crusted shrimp roll, grilled cheese, molasses cookie, berry turnover, and on oatmeal raisin cookie. Everything was fantastic. My oat milk latte was perfect and brought to my table outside on their diverted patio. Our food came out piping hot (fresh made) and season so well. Around 6 months ago I had the best espresso I've ever had in my life, and the Pickled Peach was the first to serve me an espresso that has satisfied that everlasting craving since. I had some time to kill while waiting for my son to finish his workouts nearby so I had a chance to check out my 'to try' list for Davidson and decided on Pickled Peach which I ended up regretting. The parking can get crazy in that area even during the week. I ordered the cornmeal fried shrimp sandwich( spicy mayo, butter lettuce, tomato, roasted long roll) and it comes with a small cup of carrot slaw. The sandwich was a nice size but the bread was dry and stale which screwed up everything else. Lots of healthy options for food, beverages, and coffees. Desserts too. Soup was delicious (and i'm not a huge soup person). You order at the front then grab silverware and a seat. From there it's like a traditional restaurant, they bring you food and clear the table for you. It was a very cold day but they hang blankets to enclose the patio which also had heaters. I didn't realize how sweet the coffee i ordered was and asked for a remake; they accommodated me which they didn't have to do and i really appreciated that. Will be back. read more

The Pickled Peach has a peach of my heart! I've been wanting to try TPP since I moved to Davidson this summer. However, shortly after I moved, they closed for the season and I had to wait til August when they reopened. So worth the wait! The fam and I came in for lunch on a Sunday after church. The place was busy and there was a line. The line moved quickly. It's a counter service restaurant. The counter area was small, but the seating area is outside in a covered patio. Plenty of table seating. The menu is pretty simple. They offer soups, sandwiches, salads, and delicious looking baked goods displayed at the counter. They also have other items on the counter that are seasonal. In addition, they offer coffee and tea on the market side of the building. We ordered: Shaved Red Beet sandwich $8 (2) Turkey sandwich $8.50 Seasonal salad (side) Dried Cherry and Chocolate cookie The sandwiches were very fresh and delicious! The beet sandwich and seasonal salad were both refreshing. The cookie was gooey and chocolatey and had the perfect dried cherry to chocolate to cookie ratio. Service was fast and friendly. It was super busy so I understand there was a bit of a wait for my food to come, wish they gave me a heads up of estimated wait time because I had my 17 month old son with me and it took about 20 mins. This place is really good and attempts to source locally and organically to the greatest extent they can. You place your order towards the back left hand side of the counter prior to finding your seat. It's a relatively small eclectic menu, a few items, including their house made soups of the day. This is a unique post but today was my probably 6th Visit and I've always been happy with my orders. Today I ordered the Falafel salad to go - I normally check my order for accuracy but figured I basically watched them work on it so what could be wrong. I got home 15 mins later to find the falafel was so hard I couldn't bite into it. It literally crumbled when I tried to break it apart! This was so disappointing! I sent them a message via Instagram where I follow them and to my sheer delight the responded that same day offering to buy my next meal and profusely apologized for the poor experience!!!! NOW THATS WHAT I CALL SERVICE!!! Thank you pickled peach !!! I will most definitely return in a few days and once again enjoy the tasty dishes. My only dislike and reason for not 5 stars is the space is not very accommodating for waiting for your order to go when its cold or poor weather. I do like their system for call ahead orders though which I try to stick with, but sometimes I just like to stop by when on my weekend walk to grab a sandy to go. I have been passing this place for years and always meaning to stop by and grab some food. Finally stopped in for an early lunch and was very happy that I did. They have a lot of options and based on a recommendation I got the slow braised beef sandwich. I am very glad that I went with this option. Great flavor, good portions. They also have a variety of iced tea that is offered. The food is very fresh. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. Very comfortable seating but on a nice weekend day, it does get crowded. Lunch or the DMV? Waited 10-15 minutes in line just to order and then once ordering, we took a seat outside to wait on our food. I ordered 2 sandwiches and a PB&J for my son with one smoothie. After 10 minutes I thought to myself, surely it can't be taking this long for 3 sandwiches and a drink? So I walked in and asked if the food would be brought to us or if I needed to wait on it since none of the employees implied how service works there. So I go outside, another 15 minutes go by and still no food. It's 90 degrees outside I have a 6 month old and a 2 year old so this time my husband walks in and asks about our food and they said they'd be right out with it. Another 5 minutes go by and someone finally walks out with our food but not my smoothie. Don't you think I should've received my drink shortly after ordering to have something to drink during that ridiculously long wait? (Especially a smoothie on a hot summers day). Well, we were starving, paid $34 for sandwiches so we ate and left. Food was mediocre at best. I could've made a better sandwich at home. Sourdough was dry, not a good ratio of Turkey on the sandwich and your 'side' is a dinky little condiment cup with coleslaw. Overall, super unimpressed and will not be returning! read more

This place has a long line for a reason! We looked up good lunch spots in our way home after doing a nearby hike, and this place was great! Definitely not a quick stop since it's so busy, but it was a great spot to sit and enjoy a lunch. They have a great menu of homemade soups, salads, and sandwiches. Incredibly disappointed! I had multiple people tell me this place was the best. After placing my order in person and being told it would be less than 15 minutes. Over 30 minutes later I went to check. The kitchen had lost my order which I get happens. 10 minutes later they had it ready, let me add it was 3 salads - very easy. This is a nice soup and sandwich spot. The price was high for what you get but of really good quality. Service was good. I got a braised pulled chicken sandwich and a mocha latte. The sandwich (about the size of a Big Mac) was really tasty. The chicken had really good flavor and was served on a hamburger type bun which was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the inside. The mocha latte was served in a 6-8oz cup and was really good. All of that cost $14. I will come back here again if in the area. read more

I asked for it to be remade which the service was great but it then took an additional 15 minutes. While wandering through Davidson one sunny Sunday, we realized it was lunch time. I turned to Yelp for suggestions and found the Pickled Peach! This is a deli style restaurant -- you order from the counter and take a seat. Staff brings your food to you when ready by calling your name. We marveled at the salads and sweets in the display case up front before grabbing a menu and falling into line. The line was about 10 people deep when we arrived (doesn't sound like much but makes the tiny space seem really crowded!) but moved really quickly. I had the spinach salad with chicken. A tad pricy at $13 but tasty! Ted had the meatball sandwich. I snuck a bite -- also very good. The tomato/meat sauce was really flavorful. We shared the Sunday Green Beans (slow cooked overnight with bacon -- as good as they sound!!) and lentil bacon soup. 99% of seating is outdoors. Since it was warm and grossly humid when we were there, we opted to eat inside at the small counter/bar stools that line the perimeter. Yay, AC! While we didn't partake in any alcohol on this visit (thanks for not allowing us to booze it up before noon on Sunday, NC, I did notice their impressive selection. They had @5 beers on tap and exponentially more in bottles/cans. Plus wine. All in all, great little spot in Davidson! read more

I was visiting this area for work and myself and a colleague wanted something quick but tasty! This place did not disappoint! Lots of homemade baked goods greet you right away. They have gluten-free items from another bakery as well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. For newcomers, they guide you through the ordering process. They are also very patient with questions. Highlight: the house made, delicious soups! You grab a clean, one-time use spoon to give their daily soups a taste. They were all good! I ordered the tomato and it was savory, robust but not overpowering! It paired well with my toasted sandwich, great for dipping. We sat in a enclosed patio table area. It was a beautiful day and that atmosphere topped off the lunch. All the elements combined, made for a really nice, relaxing and delicious lunch.
