Normally I think of a sports bar and I think of mid food, irritated servers and cold beer. H2 has cold beer (and drinks) fantastic servers and really, really, really good food. I've yet to have something I didn't like. Flatbreads, wings,, salads, wraps, tuna tartare or burrata (at a sports bar!). And to top it all off, the service is top notch. Sometimes sports bars have unhappy/mean servers. Every single person is genuinely smiling and nice and happy to learn your name. Great job H2. Five stars. read more

This is a locals sports bar. Pretty cool vibe with a lot of space, great service, and it's very clean. They also have many TVs for sporting events. Just keep in mind it's mostly locals. I live in the next town and didn't recognize one person. The Fried Chicken Wings (not breaded) were standard for a sports bar. You also get a couple of carrots and celery sticks. My favorite part of the meal was the Blue Moon on tap followed by an Old Fashioned ($10--good price). This is one of my more pointless reviews because not many people from out of the area would venture here but whether that's the case or you're local, you go for the vibe and the drinks more than the food. At least that's based on my experience. If I go back, I'll try a different menu item. read more

Food was decent, especially the salmon. Service was confusing, we weren't sure who our assigned server was. First person took our order, then came back a few minutes later and said they totally forgot our order and asked "did you want the flat bread or the sandwich?" We clarified we wanted the sandwich and laughed it off. A few minutes later the flat bread comes out. A young server brings it out and stares us down and says "here's the flatbread" then stared at us confused when we corrected them. We had to ask for the sandwich. He begrudgingly took it back. Very bizarre. No apology from anyone. Then the food was only okay after that, spinach was burnt and over salted. Overall we won't be back. read more

The kids and I visited H2 a few nights ago. I had a great coupon from one of the coupon books you can buy from the Exchange Clubs, which is the only reason I knew it was even there! I am really glad we did. The service was nice and friendly and the bar atmosphere wasn't so pervasive. It was still calm enough to talk to your tablemates without having to shout. We ordered sweet teas to drink and agreed they needed more sugar. For an appetizer, we three shared an order of poutine, which I wasn't really excited about. It ended up being our favorite dish of the night: French fries topped with fried cheese curds and gravy. It was sinfully amazing. Our sandwiches were good, but most of us had something we'd change. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich was the favorite sandwich of the night. The spicy sauce had just the right amount of kick on it, and the addition of slaw cooled that down enough and provided a mayonnaise sauciness as well. This was the first time we'd had a Nashville Chicken Sandwich with coleslaw added and we all agreed it was a great addition. The shaved prime rib sandwich was very good. Next time we'd order it with mayonnaise and the horseradish sauce on the side, as that was a bit strong. I had the Cuban sandwich, which was also very good. The bottom was a little on the charred side, but not so much that it was inedible. It needed a little something, as it was dry. We would definitely visit again, but probably for lunch. When I go out for dinner, I like a little bit more upscale experience. Personal preference, only. This is a solid restaurant! read more

We found this place because of the poker game on Tuesdays and I absolutely love it. There is a wonderful outdoor patio that's nice to sit and lounge on while having a drink or even eating a meal. I've always liked coming to H2 in Cornelius. It's a good place to watch a game and get something to eat. As a hockey fan it's one of the few places I don't have to ask to have the hockey game on tv. I highly recommend the $3 chorizo tacos on Tuesday, Music Bingo on Thursdays and the Pub House wings (they're $1 each on Thursdays). If I had to pick only one thing as the "best" at H2 it would be the staff. For how well this place is organized, there are often large groups that go there and it's always taken care of so well. I most appreciate Danielle, Regan and Sara for the best and consistent hospitality. They truly make H2 be as special as it is. It's safe to say I'll be back, which is more than I can say for other "reviewers" Pros: Staff is super friendly and helpful. $3 tacos, $1 Pub House wings, Nachos, TV's, weeknight social activities Cons: It can be hard to know about since it's inside a business development and I don't think there's enough signage or lighting. Unfortunately, while I live locally and like to support H2, their service has been at best poor during the last several visits, at at worst non-existent. Iif it is at all busy, wait times are crazy long...it's like the staff does not care whether you get served or not. Today was a new low. It was busy - football Sunday - and I joined a table of friends already there - but it was at least 30 minutes before any staff even bothered to come by the table. I ordered a beer from the staff member - which was delivered by someone else - and 45 min hr later the staff member still had not come back (I wanted to do a food order). Crazy bad. lots of empty beer bottles on the table as well, so lots of missed sales. You would think a staff member would notice. I ended up leaving early - missing my games - so I could go find some food elsewhere. This is not the 1st occurrence of bad service. Occasionally it has been good, most times mediocre, sometimes downright bad. Can't see going back anytime if it might be the slight bit busy. read more

Sports bar. Friday night is Trivia Night and it is LOUD. People having fun, though. The strawberry avocado salad was good but not special. The shrimp tacos were judged as "probably the best shrimp tacos I've had" by my dining partner. And the nachos were terrific (I sampled those of another dinner partner). Service was a little slow but there was a wedding group attending and the wait staff was stretched. This place probably deserves a 5 on a normal night. read more

We ordered the chicken wings, and some of them were still pink in the middle. I didn't think I ate any of the raw ones, but my stomach has said otherwise. As long as it took for the wings to come out, they should have been thoroughly done. Perhaps it was the massive size of the wings that made it more difficult to cook them. I should not be subjected to food poisoning. Montezuma's revenge! The wings were really sub par even without the food poisoning. The loaded tots were also mediocre. I've definitely had better. The apple crisp was pretty good though, and the ice cream was quality. The place was not packed for a Sunday afternoon. H2 doesn't want a negative review (even though there are plenty already) and continue to get my review removed. I had a very unpleasant experience there recently where my friend and I were treated unfairly by the staff and other patrons in the bar. I came on here to share the experience I had of a bartender D a n y e l l e. She made us feel very unwelcome because we are not a "Cheers" regular like some of the other patrons are. There are other platforms to post negative reviews and I will also share my experiences there if this gets removed again. If you look at the reviews there is ironically several positive reviews in the past days where there isn't usually that many. If it's ok for the owner/management to force people to leave positive reviews to make up for a negative review then I have no problem continuing to share my negative feedback. If this establishment is so great then my negative review shouldn't be an impact. read more

Harvey's is back in Cornelius. You will also see a review that I wrote about Harvey's in Cornelius that was not very flattering. A bit of history to put things in perspective. Harvey's first opened in Huntersville a number of years ago and several years after that, they opened a second location at the corner of Liverpool Pkwy and W. Catawba here in Cornelius. They had many issues with both the physical facility (more like a drafty warehouse) and the quality of the food and service were never up to the standards of the Huntersville location. After a period of time,, they closed that place which was probably about two years ago, maybe longer. When Peninsula China Bistro closed, the moved into the space, renovated it and came back to Cornelius. Been open a couple of months now but last night was the first time my wife and I had a chance to try it. It's definitely a positive addition to the Cornelius dining scene. Nicely appointed decor, heavy on dark wood, beautiful bar and being a sports bar, a large array of Big Screen TV's Very good service. We were seated immediately and our server was attentive through out our dining experience. My wife chose the Grilled Chicken Salad but asked if she could substitute Grilled Salmon for the Chicken. They readily agreed to the change. The menu listed an Eastern Style NC BBQ Sandwich which I decided to try along with a side of tater tots. My wife enjoyed her Salmon while I enjoyed my BBQ. Only comment would be on the Eastern NC BBQ Sauce. Eastern Style Sauce for those not familiar with it is basically a Pepper Vinegar. This was a bit sweet and could have used a bit more heat. Still very good however. This place is a keeper and we will be back. As for my previous review, remember that it's actually a review of a restaurant that no longer exists. Would have been cleaner if they would have deleted that entry and started over. read more

Have become a big fan of H2, especially for their trivia nights. They have great specials, the food is good for a bar and the drink selection is good too. My two complaints are they lack a beer list and often the servers only will rattle off a few options and are never really knowledgable in the styles. They tend to have some great beers on draft I just wish they had a menu or chalkboard with the beers listed for those sitting at tables. Second was that the music bingo night was just awful. Really bad, I ended up leaving early because I couldn't stand another second. Terribly run, played the entire song for each option, I could just go on and on about how bad it was. read more

Stopped here for lunch in between bridal shopping with a friend. Better than expected! Menu is variable, ranging from salads, pastas, burgers, sandwiches, wings and more. I went with the southwestern chicken wrap with a side salad. Wrap was tasty, and their homemade balsamic dressing is very delicious. I could dip anything into it. We also tried the philly cheesesteak quesadillas, which were tasty and served with a good aioli dipping sauce. Visited the Cornelius location and I'd say it was more of a 3.5 but not a 3 so rounded up! Visited twice and definitely preferred my first meal better which was spinach dip chicken with roasted potatoes- the dip was actual spinach dip which personally I would have thinned out to a sauce consistency for better eating but the flavors were definitely. Hubby had the blackened shrimp salad and loved so much so on our 2nd visit he ordered it again. The 2nd visit for me was a huge let down. I opted for the black bean burger which arrived room temp void of flavor and dry! The only saving grace was the roasted potatoes I enjoyed the same as the first visit. On a positive side they give you a generous pour of wine ! We met one if the owners who seemed less than appreciative to met 2 patrons and quickly dismissed himself. We stopped into the new Cornelius location Harvey's on a Saturday night, the one that's now located by Harris Teeter off Jetton. Pluses: ~It's a beautiful restaurant. ~Not too large, it's about 60% bar & bar area seating and 40% booth seating. We were able to walk in and get the very last booth available. ~The restaurant has numerous televisions, which has obviously become a staple in this genre. ~It's not too loud, you can hear the people you're dining with. ~Service was immediate, very friendly and they do a very good job of attending to tables between the main server, back servers and I think even the host staff helped bus our tables, as we were ready. ~Food comes out lightning fast. Literally. We ordered and got our appetizers in under 5 minutes. The menu is a traditional bar menu. Pricing is great for this genre. They served both appetizers and something called "snacks", which I thought was a great idea. Snacks are just little portions of snack-y things when you only want a taste or have young kids with you. One of our group was really intrigued by the Waffles n' Bacon but ultimately decided to save it for another visit. Our group of four started with two appetizers. We got the Pepperjack Nachos with Roasted Chicken $8.99. It was tortilla chips layered with pepper jack & cheddar, black beans, fresh jalapenos, pico de gallo, salsa and sour cream and we added the chicken for an upcharge. I wasn't really a fan. The toppings were minimal (we eventually found more on the bottom of the plate). The chicken is plain and unseasoned and although cooked nicely, it didn't taste nice, it tasted like chicken straight out of the, err, chicken. I took a bite and thought, "I hope I didn't order chicken for my dinner... oh, yeah, I did." We also got the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla $6.99 at the recommendation of the server. This was roasted chicken, pepper jack and cheddar, red onions, pico de gallo, sour cream, bbq sauce and cilantro. If you look at my picture you'll see why everyone avoided it at first, with it's giant puddle of bbq sauce. It has all things that I like, but I didn't like it, with the tasteless chicken and bbq sauce soup over top. :( For dinner our friend got BBQ wings which she absolutely loved. $6.50. Her husband got the good lookin' Honey Swiss Chicken $9.50 which was Harvey's honey mustard dressing over grilled chicken breast with applewood bacon and melted Swiss served with L.T.O on brioche. He paired it with some nicely done housemade chips that could be elevated a bit with an automatic side of ranch to dip them in. My husband got the cutely named Jetton Village Burger which was a 1/2 pound medium rare burger topped with sharp cheddar, thick cut bacon and medium fried egg topped with L.T.O on brioche. $11.50. It looked really good and he cut it before I could take a picture but it got only an "OK" from him. (Still searching for that perfect Lake Norman area burger!) I ordered the Southwestern Chicken Wrap $8.50 filled with that unseasoned chicken again, fresh spinach, chipotle guacamole, tomatoes, black beans, cheddar/jack cheeses and a spicy cilantro chili sour cream sauce. Again, filled with items I love, but the protein always drives the ultimate decision and the lackluster chicken pulled it down to dull. I opted for the cajun fries, which our server also recommended and while I liked them, I drank two entire glasses of water before I could flag our server down to get some ranch on the side to cool them down. Yummy, but consider yourself warned! We all had a good laugh over what turned out to be a new addition to the menu "Buy the Kitchen a round $6". We asked our server about it and she had never seen it before. Can't help but wonder if it would have gotten my chicken seasoned! LOL All and all, I admit that I am a big bar food fan, ((fried mozzarella sticks are my comfort zone (and disappointingly missing here)). And that being said, I was the least fond of the food here, out of those from our table. However, on the plus side, Harvey's in Cornelius is new in this location, and people don't really know about it yet, so your chance of getting a seat during prime time is pretty good. The restaurant is attractive, comfortable and has great atmosphere. The service is prompt and very friendly. Tables are bused quickly and politely as you finish your plates. One thing was sort of uncomfortable though... you don't get a check, you get presented with the server's iPad for payment. So the server has to stand there...as you have to immediately stop talking to your table... to immediately pull out your credit card... and as a result, of course, the server must also stand there while you decide on a tip, as they watch. Very uncomfortable for the server and very uncomfortable for the patrons. That needs to be fixed quickly. So, all in all, good hangout place, nicely located, good place to meet friends and food is well-priced for the genre. read more

Yes, I know that's a LOT of starch but one of them was a substitute for -- I think -- Brussel sprouts, which I do NOT eat. But it was DELICIOUS. I had been craving a pork chop for months. Got a couple of apps to split between the table including the potato skins and nachos. Skins were ok, pretty solid but pretty average, but I loved the nachos! They were absolutely loaded with toppings and there were more than enough to share between 5 people. For my entree I got the salmon with a double side of vegetables. The salmon was just a tad too well for my personal taste but the flavor and seasoning was pretty good. The vegetables were nothing to write home about, but they were served in good portions. Restaurant is pretty casual with many larger TVs to watch the big game. Service was good and pretty fast. Overall, nothing too special, but a solid restaurant nonetheless. read more
