Jacks salad
Ashley U.

First time checking this place out yesterday and it was a pretty decent spot. The space is very open, sports bar vibe--I could see it being a great place to meet up for happy hour. The drinks were really good and our server was on it! The food was good but nothing to ride home about. Can't really complain about anything... just kind of typical bar food. I'd def go back....matter fact I left my card there so I will 100% be back. Lol

The plan was to go to Fresh Chef Kitchen with my son, but the line was out the door and the people in that line smelled like Ben Gay. They gave me dirty looks, possibly because they knew I thought they smelled like Ben Gay. We were out. Next Stop: Little Big Burger, but there were construction workers (they were a little bit big) still working on it. Jack's was right next door. I had only been there for beer and pretzels with a friend, but since those were good, we went in and ate outside on the patio. My burger and fries were perfectly cooked. Even the pickles were great (I always put pickles on my burger). The fries were crispy and tasty. My son's burger was also excellent, but the chips--which looked crispy--were soft and tasteless. Since the service was very friendly and efficient, I give it a 4.5, which rounds up to a 5.

Fish tacos, sauce, and beverage

Phone keeps checking me in here when I'm at the grocery, figured I ought to at least stop in for a look. For better or worse it's a neighborhood bar and eatery. Daytime barkeeps are friendly enough and seem to know just about everyone coming and going. TVs are everywhere as distractions but not competing with the piped-in music. Not sure what Jack intended but it has comfortably settled into this :-) $2 tacos on Monday: choice of steak, chicken, fish, other fish... Went with the grilled fish and am pleased; real chunks of fish, tomato, and fresh crunchy cabbages on cool soft fresh tortillas. Doesn't really need it but 'Yea Tabasco!' Guessing the bar and the restaurant use the same kitchen. So based on today's effort I would consider dining in.

Veggie burger in a wrap. Only half of the patty made it into the wrap...

Definitely not a place I can recommend any longer. I've tried and tried, but today was the last straw. I started by ordering a House Bloody Mary and specifying that I did not want to go to the Bloody Mary bar (they're not my thing, please just make me your finest) AND a water. The waitress came back with what looked like a water and I proceeded to chug because it was a hot day. WOW...nope. That was straight vodka. The vodka I was supposed to use for my trip to the Bloody Mary bar that I specifically didn't want... Ok, no worries. Strike 1 on me. Then it came to food. I ordered a veggie burger in a wrap with sweet potato fries. Please refer to my pictures. I know that this isn't a traditional sports bar order, but I'm trying to eat more plant based foods and currently scouting for the best veggie burger in town. Folks, this ain't it. The patty only made it into half of the wrap. It was flavorful but overall just a mush. The serving of sweet potato fries was skimpy. All of my friends made comments that it looked like they left half the order in the kitchen. I asked the waitress if this was a full serving and she said all of the food is weighed and that's a full serving of fries. Boy, now I felt like a loser.... So on I ate. It's playoff football. I would've been inclined to stay and keep drinking, but our waitress wanted us to move along. Other food around us looked good, but honestly I've lost my enthusiasm for Jack's.

Bonzai Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries

10/10 recommend this place for lunch, ESPECIALLY if Lori is on staff! She treated us like we were family, and she was so sweet to my 18 month old! We came in about 10 minutes after they opened & the service was FAST, food was FRESH, and the place was CLEAN and friendly! The tunes playing were perfect, my son had a little dance party the whole time. Other guests were super sweet to our son & overall the vibes were just great! It's smaller on the inside so I could see it getting full easily in the winter months, around lunch or rush hours...but the patio is still nice whenever the weather is nice. I ordered the Bonzai Chicken sandwich & sweet potato fries. 12/10 on all of it! The fries were crispy, yet soft on the inside. The sauce they have with it (honey & cinnamon i think) was TOO good! The sandwich was juicy, FLAVORFUL, and had the best bun ever. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. The bacon was crispy, the tomato was ripe, the lettuce was fresh, the pineapple was JUICY, the chicken was flavorful and juicy as well! Next time we're in, we'll be sure to ask for Lori & probably order the exact same thing! We never needed anything because we were so well taken care of! Thanks again!

Welcome to the Serve, the Cornelius answer to how to be active while enjoying good times with friends. This was our first time here, and it's a very nice venue. To start, their coffee is delicious and strong. I had the Double Up, with scrambled eggs (with added cheddar), bacon, sausage links, sourdough toast, and fruit. My husband had the Short Rib Hash with a side of potatoes. He forgot the hash also had potatoes, and should have gotten something else, because he had far too many potatoes! My scrambled eggs were a little over cooked and the cheese was only melted on top (rather than being mixed in), but they were still decent. The bacon was perfectly crispy--as requested, and the sausage links were fine. The sourdough toast was buttered and delicious. And the fruit had watermelon--a nice addition to the usual fruit cup. My husband's short rib hash was good. The eggs were perfectly medium, but the potatoes were a bit salty. Easy Like Sunday still makes our favorite version of this dish. Our server was very pleasant, and the wait wasn't too long for our food. I loved that we could pay with ApplePay via the Toast handheld. While everything wasn't perfect, we'll definitely return and try some different items. I want to try them for dinner, too!

The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a great atmosphere and a welcoming vibe that makes it an enjoyable place to spend an evening. The location is convenient, and the space feels fresh, modern, and inviting. The service was also a highlight of the experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the meal enjoyable from start to finish. The restaurant is known for its casual yet upscale ambiance, which definitely came through during our visit.  Where the experience fell a bit short for me was the food. Everything was prepared well and perfectly edible, but nothing really stood out or felt especially memorable. It wasn't bad by any means--just not quite at the same level as the atmosphere and service. I went for the lobster tail ravioli, and it was just a bit too chewy for my taste. I was hoping for a dish that would make me eager to come back, but that didn't happen on this visit. I could, however, come back. I would give it a second chance and would like to try drinks from the bar.  Overall, Torrence and Knox is a great spot for the ambiance, service, and overall dining experience. If you're looking for a comfortable place to meet friends, enjoy drinks, or have a relaxed night out, it's definitely worth a visit. I'd return for the atmosphere alone and would be interested to try more of the menu in the future.

The place looks like a pub, inside and out, with a huge patio in the rear. All the workers we encountered were really polite and personable. It was very clean inside, even the bathrooms. We pretty much knew what we wanted but enjoyed looking at the menu anyway. Started off with a 20 oz Black & Tan and a 16 oz Harps. So good. My husband had the Fish and Chips. Perfect fry, thick and flaky fish, served with a side of malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The slaw was crisp and savory and the fries crisp. He loved every bite. I had the Bangers and Mash. The sausage was tender with a delicious onion gravy. Some veggies were included (green beans, cauliflower and carrot). The mash itself was creamy and chunky, just the way I love it. Complete comfort food. We ended the meal by splitting a dish of Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was sweet and savoury, with a hint of salt to balance, topped with vanilla ice cream and more toffee sauce. (I haven't had a Sticky Toffee Pudding since I was a child and this was such a delicious treat to share.) The whole experience was exceptional and we cannot wait to go back.

They, very kindly, offered to put us on the list while we were in-route! We arrived and were seated within minutes. Very cool of them to do that! Our waiter was very patient, friendly and explained the specials and menu items in detail. He made the dining a positive experience for sure! Potato bites were good. Whatever the shmear underneath was it could use some more of that! Bangers and mash were meh. Bland mash, overcooked bangers and not enough gravy. I was provided some extra gravy though. Fish and Chips were a big hit! Perfect cook and the batter was light, crisp and stuck to the fish well! Tartar was great. Slaw was on the boring side but unnecessary in the end. Everyone was friendly, a band was playing, the lights were dim, drinks were cold and the fish is good. If you live in the area I highly recommend checking it out!
