Lunchtime landed me at #JacksCornerTap Ribs, fries, collard greens and drinks. I ordered the ribs. The barbecue sauce on the ribs was very good, But if you removed the barbecue sauce from the ribs, they weren't very appetizing. The meat itself just didn't taste that good. They passed the pull a part test ---- fall off the bone test, just work on flavoring the meat. The french fries were hot and crispy. I love a crispy fry. I did not like the collard greens at all. They taste like they were cooked in a pot full of unsalted butter and that's it. I added vinegar to the dish and tried to perk them up and that made them worse. Now if you are looking for a good libation to wash down this food, the lemon drop martini hit the spot. I had two of them. Jack's Corner Tap has a lot more menu options and I am willing to give them another try. I just won't be ordering ribs or collard greens. We used to go to Jack's every Wednesday -- for the trivia, and for the service. Now that you've let Mikko go, we won't be going anymore -- in part because the food isn't worth the prices, and in part because this represents a really poor business decision. We walked in at 10 minutes after 9PM tonight, were seated and given menus. 5 minutes later the server walked up and said it was so dead the kitchen just decided to close really quickly. Really people? Awful guest service!! Service is really going downhill. Communicate to the front of house *first* and don't close the kitchen until the hostess mentions this and refrains from handing out food menus upon seating guests!! read more

First time checking this place out yesterday and it was a pretty decent spot. The space is very open, sports bar vibe--I could see it being a great place to meet up for happy hour. Which of this place last night for the first time with my family, and found it to be your typical local hire and sports bar that she would normally see in Cornelius at that location. Even though it looked pretty crowded out on the patio the inside was full but not so much where it was uncomfortable. We were seated immediately and given the builder burger menu which little did we know was the special of the night. That would probably be the only negative to the experience, is that being that it was our first time there, that was not explained to us. So be it we ordered from the full menu. I have to say that the food came out extremely hot and actually very well done I had the Cuban was very hot, the chips, were hot however they were a little bit more sloppy than crunchy. We also tried the buffalo chicken dip, which was actually very tasty, as it came with large chunks of chicken and arrived piping hot with tortilla chips. This is obviously a local neighborhood spot, but if you're in the mood to people watch, and I was, this is a good place to go to. read more

The plan was to go to Fresh Chef Kitchen with my son, but the line was out the door and the people in that line smelled like Ben Gay. They gave me dirty looks, possibly because they knew I thought they smelled like Ben Gay. We were out. Next Stop: Little Big Burger, but there were construction workers (they were a little bit big) still working on it. Jack's was right next door. I had only been there for beer and pretzels with a friend, but since those were good, we went in and ate outside on the patio. My burger and fries were perfectly cooked. Even the pickles were great (I always put pickles on my burger). The fries were crispy and tasty. My son's burger was also excellent, but the chips--which looked crispy--were soft and tasteless. Phone keeps checking me in here when I'm at the grocery, figured I ought to at least stop in for a look. For better or worse it's a neighborhood bar and eatery. Daytime barkeeps are friendly enough and seem to know just about everyone coming and going. TVs are everywhere as distractions but not competing with the piped-in music. Not sure what Jack intended but it has comfortably settled into this :-) $2 tacos on Monday: choice of steak, chicken, fish, other fish... Went with the grilled fish and am pleased; real chunks of fish, tomato, and fresh crunchy cabbages on cool soft fresh tortillas. Doesn't really need it but 'Yea Tabasco!' Guessing the bar and the restaurant use the same kitchen. So based on today's effort I would consider dining in. read more

Definitely not a place I can recommend any longer. I've tried and tried, but today was the last straw. I started by ordering a House Bloody Mary and specifying that I did not want to go to the Bloody Mary bar (they're not my thing, please just make me your finest) AND a water. The waitress came back with what looked like a water and I proceeded to chug because it was a hot day. WOW...nope. That was straight vodka. The vodka I was supposed to use for my trip to the Bloody Mary bar that I specifically didn't want... Ok, no worries. Strike 1 on me. Then it came to food. I ordered a veggie burger in a wrap with sweet potato fries. Please refer to my pictures. I know that this isn't a traditional sports bar order, but I'm trying to eat more plant based foods and currently scouting for the best veggie burger in town. Folks, this ain't it. The patty only made it into half of the wrap. It was flavorful but overall just a mush. The serving of sweet potato fries was skimpy. All of my friends made comments that it looked like they left half the order in the kitchen. I asked the waitress if this was a full serving and she said all of the food is weighed and that's a full serving of fries. Boy, now I felt like a loser.... So on I ate. It's playoff football. Put dressing on my to go order ceasar salad. by the time i got back to work the salad was warm and soggy. I said something about it to the hostess and she didn't seem to care or offer to remake the salad. Also, I order a side cearar and I was charged over $8 when the menu list $5.00. i did say Side ceasar on the phone placing my order. The side of shrimp was over $7.00 when the appetizer was $10.00 and i only received 5 pieces of shrimp. Mainly I'm not happy with being over charged and the salad being terrible. 10/10 recommend this place for lunch, ESPECIALLY if Lori is on staff! She treated us like we were family, and she was so sweet to my 18 month old! We came in about 10 minutes after they opened & the service was FAST, food was FRESH, and the place was CLEAN and friendly! The tunes playing were perfect, my son had a little dance party the whole time. Other guests were super sweet to our son & overall the vibes were just great! It's smaller on the inside so I could see it getting full easily in the winter months, around lunch or rush hours...but the patio is still nice whenever the weather is nice. I ordered the Bonzai Chicken sandwich & sweet potato fries. 12/10 on all of it! The fries were crispy, yet soft on the inside. The sauce they have with it (honey & cinnamon i think) was TOO good! The sandwich was juicy, FLAVORFUL, and had the best bun ever. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. The bacon was crispy, the tomato was ripe, the lettuce was fresh, the pineapple was JUICY, the chicken was flavorful and juicy as well! Stopped in for a quick bite on a Monday night. It was low key and quiet. Hadn't been here for several years. We ordered a house salad and the grilled fish sandwich with pub fries. Sounds like nothing special, right? Well, it was amazingly top notch! The salad greens were extremely fresh, absolutely no 'stored in the refrigerator' taste that so many eateries suffer from. I love the way they chopped up the tomatoes, onions and cuc! The fish was fresh, and the portion was very generous! It was cooked perfectly and served on a great bun that didn't fall apart. The pub fries were crisp and delish as well. Service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is warm, even though it's probably thought of as a sports bar. Plenty of TVs to keep up with any games being played. Not sure why we haven't visited more, but will be inclined to in the future! read more

We wanted to like this place but quickly realized why we just visit Al's across the parking lot instead. Food was obviously frozen despite descriptions like "house made pork" on their menu. My husband ordered it without mustard and pickles and the server came back out and said they were premade so she couldn't do that. My Philly was obviously frozen meat, and my husband ordered a burger that was clearly a frozen patty as well. Do yourselves a favor and just don't come here unless you're not eating. read more

A local friend of mine recommended Jacks so we met there on a Monday afternoon. The place was fantastic. Nice atmosphere, sports on multiple TV's, great staff. There were drink and food specials on Mondays and Thursdays. A couple of $2 Tacos were a meal in themselves. I'll be going back often. read more

Fantastic Upscale Bar Food 4th of July and we decided to grab a quick dinner before the fireworks. My wife and I have been coming here since they opened a couple of years ago and this is one of her favorite places. I like it too and with the exception of the Oyster Po Boy, the food is generally good. They have never mastered that one. I had the Prime Rib which was one of their daily specials. It was excellent and great cut of meat. Only downside was the salad that came with it. Lettuce was limp and the balsamic dressing left much to be desired. My wife had Philly Cheese Steak Wraps which she enjoyed and even brought the leftovers home for a midnight snack. Service was excellent. They just took over the space next door and expanded the restaurant and the remodel came across well. Good casual place to go. Plenty of wide screen TV's so it's a nice place to catch a game or in todays, case, NASCAR at Daytona. Would recommend to anyone. read more

Stopping in at Jacks on a SAT night. They have this band named "the unknown Band" that is amazing. Not sure where they found them but the guitarist played an Eddie Vanhalen solo that was spot on! I was pleasantly surprised by Jack's Corner Tap. My friend and I were just looking for a spot to grab some lunch and watch the UNC football game. We landed on Jack's and were expecting just some run of the mill Sports Bar food. Jack's ended up impressing us. I got the Bonsai Burger which had bacon, swiss cheese, pineapple, and was marinated in teriyaki sauce. The burger ended up being juicy and delicious. As my side, I got the homemade chips which were cooked just right and came with some delicious ranch. Also, Yelp has a check-in offer that gets you a free appetizer with the purchase of two meals. We went for it and got the Loaded Tater Tots. This wasn't just a little sampler that they brought out. They brought out a huge pile of tots topped with sour cream, guac, jalapeños, diced tomatoes, and more. Definitely take advantage of this. They have a good amount of options on the menu, considering it's a sports bar. This is the type of place that you could find something on the menu for just about anyone. This is also a great place to watch the game. They have TV's everywhere that the eye can see, and a number of large projectors. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful when we wanted to turn on the UNC game on a TV that was closer to our table. I saw them accommodate several patrons who had a specific game that they wanted to watch. The beer selection isn't great, but they have a good number of local options, including some choices from NODA. If you are in the Lake Norman area and are looking for a place to watch the game and grab a bite to eat, Jack's Corner Tap is definitely the place. read more

This has been a place I've visited on a couple of Sundays and I just have to say they have $2 mimosas which in the greater area is one of...if not the best...deal around. Fish tacos are ok and the dish comes with 2 and a nice big bowl of beans, so plenty of food. Menu has very reasonably priced dishes. Add in a nice patio for warmer months and plenty of TVs inside, it is a nice go to place for eating, drinking, and viewing games. FYI: Huntersville Police do run road blocks on the back road between this place and Macs Speed Shop at night sometimes...........beware!!!! read more

We used to go weekly. Then service changes and prices went up. Decided to try a carry out order. Gave my order and while I was asking a last question I received a "see you soon" and click-hangup. Called back and finished my question and "when will it be ready?" Told 15-20 minutes. I arrived 13 minutes later and saw the order on a counter. Got home and found items missing, food cold and pub chips soggy and cold. (I live 1/2 mile away--about three minutes). And to top it all when I warmed it in the microwave it ended up overcooked. $37 for a burger and fish sandwich and tip. For anger, disappointment, and lousy food. Never again Jack. read more
