I came back again today after a mixed on my most recent order. They offered me a gift card and allowed me to use it with no problem at all. The young lady that took my order was very friendly but as she was attempting to take my order taking a manager (I assume) kept interrupting us. She didn't say excuse me and did it twice. Although she was notifying her about a glitch in their soft drink options for the night, a simple "excuse me" would have been appreciated. Been here 3 times in the last couple months. The Utica greens appetizer and in their beef sandwich are very tasty. Chicken Dona was a nice surprise and a generous portion. Parmesans are okay. Expected something more when you pay an up charge for a Caesar salad. It's not. Lobster Bisque Crab Linguine is indeed just bisque, some shrimp, but no crab. I thought about eating here for almost a year and finally made it in. If you're just looking for good food, go here. I was impressed. However, it wasn't an overall amazing experience. When I walked in, I took photos. I noticed how clean the kitchen was and took a photo (from the dining area) to help out. Before ordering my food, I received a message from the top demanding that I delete the photo of the kitchen. Not very hospitable. Especially when I was trying to help. They also add 3% to your check if you use a credit card. The Old Fashioned tasted great and a good pour, but the Blue Moon tap was watered down. And prices are a little high. Side Note: good yet small piece of bread with meal. The 4 stars is for very good food and quality service from Kaci and others. Worth checking out but didn't love the 3% extra charge and being asked to delete photo of kitchen right when sitting down--after being granted permission. I enjoyed the food but just a weird Big Brother vibe for me. It's mostly locals that dine here but worth a shot if you're in the area. We came here for an early lunch Sunday and we're so impressed! We were quickly seated and the wakes came by to ask for our drink order. We also placed a kids French toast sticks with bacon. It came out quickly and the kids devoured it. Our food came out quickly as well and it was so tasty! The Philly Chattahoochee m cheesesteak was huge and flavorful. Pros: My soup was tasty, but should have been hotter. Cons: Our service was TERRIBLE! It took over 45 minutes for food to arrive, and one friend waited 30 minutes just for her drink. I think our waitress was doing her best - it was Friday at 1 PM, and the restaurant was crowded - so, perhaps they were shorthanded. It was very frustrating to watch other groups come in, place their orders, get their food, and then leave before our food even arrived at the table! If the waitress or manager had come to our table and apologized, or maybe comped the very late drink, I'd be willing to give them another chance. I was late in pre-ordering for my Christmas Eve dinner. I was declined by other places for being too late and found out that MiAmichis did catering. Showed up there Monday Dec. 22 and discouraged that they are closed on Mondays. Nick happened to be coming out the side door, asked if he could help me. I told him what I needed and he recommended the size tray and how many breadsticks I needed. He happily took my order right then and there in the parking lot! Nick called me later in the day with the total. I paid over the phone on Tuesday and picked up on Christmas Eve day. Nick told me exactly how to heat everything up, even gave me an extra pint of sauce for the eggplant parm and everything came out delish! Thanks Nick for accommodating my late order. I've been here 1.5 times. The ".5" time was when my wife had lunch with her friends and brought half of her wrap home for me. It was very good. We went last week to celebrate our anniversary. It was my first time eating there. Here is my review and the reason for only 3 stars: Food: Very good. I ordered the baked ravioli. My only complaint (and it's very minor) was that they but the small, finger sized piece of bread in a part of the plate where the watery part of the sauce got to it. No biggie at all. My wife ordered the Pesto pasta dish and that was kind of bland and didn't taste very special at all. I would suggest avoiding the desserts. The chocolate cake had excellent mousse but the cake seemed like a grocery store Betty Crocker box that wasn't made properly. It was very dry as was my tiramisu. They looked very tempting in the glass diner like display case that was very prominent when you first walk in but judging by how they were already in fitted plastic boxes, they probably buy them from a 3rd party and we had the misfortune of ending up with the stale ones (it was a Sunday and they're closed on Mondays so that's probably the reason). Atmosphere and ambiance: this is what dragged their rating way down. The prices and decor gives the impression of being high end. However, the tables and full view of the kitchen from most of the dining room gave off the impression of a diner, not a fine restaurant. Speaking of the tables, they were a hard white slab with no tablecloth and had a pizza store type grated cheese dispenser and cheap salt and pepper shakers and nothing else. They should have just put the old stainless napkin dispenser on the table too since they use paper napkins. All in all it was like there was a war between fine dining and noisy pizza shop where the bulk of the pizza business is take-out. Sorry if I seem picky but they have a near $40 item on their menu so I expect more. Speaking of noise, oh man, it was horribly loud inside. I don't usually do this but when I realized we had to literally shout to have any kind of conversation, I used my phone app to measure and the noise level averaged 80db with peaks over 85db. Hearing loss begins at 90 decibels. This alone will keep us from going back unless it's for a quick lunch outside, where it is quieter. read more

Sunday afternoon in late October and it's about 80 under sunny skies with just enough breeze to notice so we opted to sit on the patio; too loud on the east side, too hot on the west, so we wound up under the canopy... perfect! got settled with menus and icy water while waiting for the app special which was umm-ay-zing. badabing calamari is exceptional and kinda huge; lightly breaded and crisp, fried up to the brink of chewiness plus a healthy splash of saucy sauce... sweet and thick with a smidgen of spicy zip that is reminiscent of the coconut-shrimp sauce from Sparky's in Stanhope; it warms the soul but never burns. dinner salad is a fair portion of greens with the house dressing plus sliced tomato and cucumber which eats good for salad. Nonni P's lasagna arrived on schedule in all its marinara and layered-pasta glory along with a couple bread sticks and a cider beside her. it's a good sized slab with three meats, two cheeses, and a dose of fancy italian herbage to bring it all together. not sure how I managed to not get a picture of it but that's what happens when the food looks good enough to eat ;-) my lovely bride chose the goat cheese and beet salad which added walnut, craisins, and sliced avocado to a bed of arugula and other sordid greens to tamp down a glass of chianti. ...half of each came home for second dinner, just saying read more

This restaurant does an excellent job of using Social Media effectively. They kept showing up on Yelp and the Lake Norman Page on Face Book. I know that this can be manipulated to inflate the overall rating for a restaurant, so I start out as open-minded cynic with the "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude. The one thing that made me curious was that there are a number of Yelp reviewers and Yelp Elite that I know and respect who had gone to Mi Amiche and had given in very high marks A week ago, Friday, my wife and I decided to give it a try. Was not my first choice for than day but my wife is tired of Burgers and loves Italian Cuisines. Fortunately for me. It's in a new section off of Morrison Plantation just before the intersection with Brawley School Road. The names of the establishments are not prominent so a bit hard to fine. Finally found it although going about 5 mph, I was pulling into a parking slot with turn signal on when someone dropping off a already late employee, almost took out the right side of a Buick SUV. They skidded to a stop, and I had to wait for them to move before I could pull into the parking spot. No problem because we were not in a hurry with no schedule so a very minor aggravation No damage to vehicles and only lost a minute or two but it only 11:30 am so we were ahead of the lunch crowd Walked in and were immedicably seated at a corner table looking down on Morrison Plantation Rd. Interior is expansive and reflect back to the 1960's Rat Pack Day but also some Godfather themes My wife and I both started out with the Italian Wedding Soup and a bit different from what I am used to from Western PA was excellent. For some reason, I wife has developed a taste for a Chocolat Martinn but not me. (Too Sweet). She ordered one and enjoyed it. After soup course, I order the Mi Amiche Sub with Pasta Salad. Both were excellent. In particular the Pasta Salad was one of the best I have had in years. The Mi Amiche Sub was amazing in the Amoun of meat they could pack on a Sandwich. It was huge and not only did I have some to take home but also for the next two meals. My wife ordered the Sausage, Onion, Green Pepper Sub with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. As someone who has been to Mi Amiche several times, I was disappointed in our most recent visit last week. We ordered the Chef's Caesar Salad with chicken, Beer Cheese Pretzel, and Chicken Primavera. Two of the tree items were very good. The Chef's Caesar Salad was drowning in dressing, so much so I only ate half (the dressing was spicy since there was so much) and the amount of chicken with it wasn't enough. When I told the server I was disappointed with it and why, she only apologized and did not offer anything else. The Chicken Primavera was very tasty, but lacked vegetables. We sat out on their enclosed patio, it was a little noisy, but not too bad and would be a good place to see the sunset. The service was good with exception of not addressing the problem with my salad. The wine is rather costly per glass, $10 each for a small pour. If we decide to return, I'll be more choosy about what we order and if we're not happy escalate any issues to the manager if the server fails to offer a solution. read more

Solid experience! We've been wanting to try for awhile so made a reservation request online. I never heard from the restaurant about whether my reservation was approved or not which was a little weird, but thankfully they had it on the books because the place was packed. We went with friends who had been for lunch before and said it was good. The servings are massive - be warned! My husband and I thought we were on top of things by splitting dishes, but we still overate. Seriously stuffed right now typing this. Food was solid. My drink was good, but a bit steep at $15. Service was great. Husband thought we were rushed a bit, but I didn't get that vibe honestly. We even sat and chatted with our friends once we were done. This is the first time having eaten here for a Mothers Day present by my son and future daughter in law. Having lived in Boston for a brief period and visiting New York with friends, this restaurant reminds me of the family owned and operated restaurants where the family takes care of their patrons like family. The service was nothing short of incredible, and the food was outstanding. You may think that that it's too expensive, for the online menus, but I can attest that you will walk out with a box better portions are so huge . I hate to give this place such a poor rating as we had wanted to try it for quite some time, but it just was not good. It was just OK but not at an "OK" restaurant price. In general, the whole atmosphere is just very bland. The staff was nice, but you feel like you're sitting in something that was built half way then decided to stop, paint everything white, and throw some photos of famous Italians on the walls. The selection on the menu seems great, but everything we had was underwhelming. The fried mozzarella was undercooked, the penne was over cooked, the ravioli that came with my incredibly tiny cuts of steak was undercooked. And speaking of the little tiny steak (see pictures) that came with a "demiglaze"... It was basically a beef broth. The food was so boring that we chose to not get dessert and went down the road to another Italian restaurant to get tiramisu and coffee. We will not be coming back. read more

We went here for brunch with a group of 9 and we had a great experience! We sat out on the patio which is spacious and the weather was perfect. We ordered a couple of the fun fall drinks like the apple cider mimosa and caramel apple mule, which were both delicious. I got the steak, eggs, and green for my meal and it was fantastic. I had no idea what to expect with the greens, but they were cheesy and a little bit spicy, just packed with flavor. I ordered my eggs over easy and the yolk was perfectly runny and it made the perfect sauce for the potatoes and toast. The steak was also perfectly cooked and seasoned. Nick catered a wedding at our home last month for 29 guests. He was very accommodating and helpful in planning a menu. He personally delivered the 4 appetizers at 12:30 and later delivered 3 dinner entries and salad at 5pm. We were expecting 3 appetizers however,Nick brought an extra pasta salad on the house. I should also mention with dinner, NIck delivered desserts from Good Eats and Sweets (also 5 stars). No exaggeration, there was enough food for 50 people. The quality of the food was outstanding. Every dish was homemade, fresh, prepared to perfection and delicious. Not only the best Italian food in this area, but the best food in general. I'm astonished this place isn't a 5 star rated Italian place here locally. We went at a slower time of the day (2pm) so service was top notch (Thanks Cassidy!). I'd like to assume, based on the enthusiasm of the staff and owner, that this type of service stays consistent throughout the busy hours. Nick, the owner, was on site and was very passionate and gave great recommendations. The important part. Incredible food. Every single item we had was way above expectations. Meatballs with bread sticks (I spooned the extra sauce lol), pesto based bruschetta (I do not typically like anything pesto based...this dish was extremely good and fresh). Mains: lobster bisque and crab linguini was fantastic. "Spicy" is a loosely based term. Know you'll get a slight spice that really adds some originality to an already original dish. I would have been happy with crab and lobster, but it's topped with heaps of shrimp as well. Veal Piccata sauce was incredible. Creamy and with that touch of lemon and caper you hope for. We slightly regretted trying the veal (we usually always go chicken) but that is a preference choice. Veal is richer and the lightness of the chicken would have been welcomed in the flavorful sauces. All in all a late lunch turned into a great experience with some of the best food I've had in a loooong time. It's a sociable spot so not only do you get proper Italian food you get a truly authentic experience. **Last note: incredible portions. By the time we got to the main we could only eat so much.
