The food is delicious, everything is so good and such high quality ingredients which is rare these days. Their staff is nice and the inside of the restaurant is so clean and cozy, it's really nice. This is a nice place to eat. I have tried so many of their dishes and specials, I honestly can't list them all, everything is good. I love the pot roast when they have it, the ribeye is good, the side dishes are all good, the greek dishes are good, the burgers are really good- the best burgers in town. Just everything is good, I like everything. The breakfast is good also. Even if you are a picky eater and don't like as much of a variety of food as I do, you will love whatever you order here. There is something for everybody. The owner is such a kind and hardworking, sincerely nice person who cares about her customers, and her food is the best! Stopped by for a late lunch recently while in the area. Sits on the grounds at the golf course, a large restaurant with high ceilings. It not busy on the afternoon of our visit, our server was very kind, professional and friendly. She dropped off menus with water, took our order on her return, answered all our questions and made us feel welcome. After giving the menu a once over. I opted for a Flatbread, with crispy onion strips. This was a solid choice for me, the flatbread was very good, well made and served hot. The crispy onions were also very good, served with a spicy aioli sipping sauce. Met a good friend here for lunch. Thursday at noon wasn't busy. Seated promptly but wasn't super hungry. Server was very friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere. Ordered a bowl or tomato basil soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Simple but she said the soup was made in-house. Soup was garnished with a little parm cheese and 4 croutons. Sandwich grilled to perfection. The soup was delicious. Wouldn't definitely get again. A great lunch experience. If you're ever down Mocksville way, stop in and say hello here. Olive Tree never disappoints! I truly appreciate them being open on Sundays, because several other local options are not. Our server was so friendly and we were never in need of anything. The Italian Flatbread is delicious! The dough tastes so fresh and the toppings are perfect. My friends ordered steak salads, and the chef/owner (I believe) actually came out to explain that it looked small, but they were 4oz pieces and the only steak pieces they had left because they are about to close for a week due to the holiday. She was so kind and offered to bring them each a piece of chicken in case the steak wasn't filling enough. Of course, it was the perfect about for both of them and no other protein was needed but we all raved about how kind and executional that type of service was. Of course, it's decorated so classic and beautifully and we had a table in front of the window overlooking the golf course. It's all around such a nice place and always a good experience! read more

We met friends there last night. GPS took me a weird way, so PSA just take I40 to the Mocksville exit. It's a really pretty area tucked in a golf course and there's a playground. We were greeted immediately and our server was attentive. It's definitely a spot that has regulars. There's also a bar around the corner. We ordered the fried green tomato app and it was delish, sadly there were only 3. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was delish. The tazaki doesn't come with it so it's something to ask for, and was heavy on the dill. The sautéed veggies were good. It also came with the Mediterranean potatoes and I was expecting rosemary, but had a sweet taste so maybe cinnamon? My kid had the Mac and cheese and fries. The Mac had definitely been reheated but the cheese was good, as were the fries. It wasn't busy, but wonder if it's busier on the weekends. I'll try it out again. read more

We had tried to eat before but couldn't find it, arrived this time and found much better signage. The parking lot is a little walk from the restaurant doors so if you are handicapped or have trouble with mobility, you should probably get dropped off at the door. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and there was a sign with specials right there. The area restaurant has plenty of seating and good lighting. There were not a lot of patrons at this time, and the noise level was rather low. There was plenty seats available at the bar on the left side of the room as well. We were seated right away and our waitress brought our drinks out quickly. We started with the fried salmon nuggets which absolutely blew me away. They were lightly breaded with cornmeal and the fish inside was cooked perfectly. The salmon was juicy and flaked nicely and had a great fresh flavor. I got the fried pork chops with ham gravy, cheesy polenta and collard greens. Pork was cooked great and the crust wasn't too much. The gravy was a great addition, and take a bite of the pork, gravy, and polenta together all went together nicely. I had never had collards before so Im probably not a fair judge. They were a bit salty and were not much to write home about but they were not bad at all. The side of fries were crispy and hot. No overall big complaints, wasn't the most amazing food but I would certainly be back to try some of their other menu items. read more

Great location with plenty of parking, right off HWY 64! Each time I have been for breakfast, the location has been very clean, great service, and food has been on point. The grits are extremely good but I would say they are more like dinner grits. Am I the only person that thinks breakfast grits and dinner grits are different? We were headed through Mocksville and took the opportunity to stop in at the newly opened Olive Tree Restaurant. Our understanding is this location is affiliated with the Olive Tree in Winston. We weren't quite sure what to expect since we knew it was located at a golf course. Neither my wife or I are golfers so we were a bit apprehensive. Colin Creek Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Mocksville and we enjoyed the drive. The parking lot is easy to navigate and the restaurant is visible from the main entrance. The trees lining the driveway and parking area are big and beautiful, it felt very charming on a spring morning. We snapped a few pictures and headed in. We were immediately greeted by two young ladies at the hostess stand. One of the young ladies took us to a table and provided us menus, we also quickly looked at the specials board. Lendis stopped in and welcomed us and also took our drink orders. We began to look over the menu and since we arrived about 10:30am we were offered both breakfast and lunch menus. Everything on both menus sounded delicious and we thought the prices were very reasonable. We both decided to order the Breakfast Steam Engine (smoked ham, turkey & applewood smoked bacon with scrambled egg, Gruyère cheese & honey mustard on griddled brioche Texas toast). We both ordered the Honey mustard on the side and my wife asked for hers to be served on a biscuit while I kept the Texas toast. I also ordered a side of hashbrowns while my wife chose a side of bacon. The interior is warm and inviting and we noticed a few things including a 100% sanitation score, a full bar and it appears they are preparing an outdoor covered patio space. Lendis told us they opened in January and are open every day except for Tuesday's. Our Breakfast Steam Engines arrived in a timely manner and looked yummy. We both dug in and thought they were very tasty. Lendis also stopped in numerous times to check in on us and we felt very well taken care of. We both agreed it was a great stop and we are anxious to make our way back out for lunch and dinner as well. We highly recommend, fabulous service, delicious food and a beautiful setting which makes it welcoming for all even if you aren't a golfer. read more

Best shrimp and grits I have ever eaten, and I've had them in a few different cities. We also had salmon bites for an appetizer, which was spot on.. The salmon tasted fresh with no fishy flavor. Not overdone and not under done. And at the end, we had a custard, coconut custard, that was to die for. read more

So glad this place was finally able to open, it's been a long time coming! The inside is very clean. There are a lot of tables, and even a bar! Unfortunately, they currently only have 1 high chair but they have 2 more ordered! We went in for breakfast this morning and the seasoned potatoes were definitely my favorite, and my daughter loved her cup of fresh fruit. Now, the only reason I'm doing 4 stars vs 5 stars - there are areas that could use some improvement! It did seem like our waitress might be new to being a waitress. She didn't stop by very often, but this will get better with time I'm sure! There's also a lot of chatting up at the hostess stand. Food wise, I just wish my omelet had been seasoned! Even if it was just salt and pepper. (Though our waitress wasn't super attentive, the owner really was! We stopped in here for dinner without doing a lot of research. I have seen a lot of buzz about it online and decided to give it a try. The Olive Tree Restaurant is just south of Mocksville on highway 64. I assumed this was a traditional American / Southern restaurant but was blown away by the dining room, menu, and the fact they have a full bar. Not what I was expecting from a restaurant that is in the middle of nowhere. The menu is large. Something for everyone. Handhelds including burgers, hot dog, wraps, and clubs. They also have more expensive entrees ranging from $15, $24, to the dreaded "market price". It includes steaks, chicken, shrimp & grits, salmon, pork, etc.. They also have salads, flatbreads, wings and appetizers. We tried the spinach & artichoke souffle as a starter and the Mediterranean flat bread as the entree. Both items were good. Solid 3 stars on the food we tried. I'm sure there are other items on the menu that are better. Onto the booze. They had four beers on tap, one regional and three national brands. Lots more in bottles and cans. Decent wine list. About seven red and seven white on the menu. You can get the wine by glass or the bottle. Full bar available if you want something stronger. I do wish this place success. Very unique for the area. I plan on coming back to try other items on the menu. read more

My wife and I came here for a private event, but they don't open to the public for 2 more weeks. The facilities are amazing. A mix of old-world charm and modern clean lines. The food was Bruscetta balsamic chicken. The balsamic glaze and the cheese were a perfect combination of flavors. These came with roasted Greek potatoes. I couldn't atop getting more even when I was full. For such a simple dish, it was awesome. Along with these was a Mediterranean salad. I don't know what the dressing was, but yu-mee. Next were sautéed vegetables. Again, scrumptious. Spinach and artichoke dip on pita bread rounded things out. Oh, there was a charcuterie board setup that included the most amazing dried figs! Me and friend came here today highly recommended and we walked in and waited for someone to seat us. A woman said have a seat anywhere and the was only 2 tables being waited on, not busy at all. We sat and sat and no one acknowledged us, brought us a menu. We watched 2 couples walk in and were greeted and taken to a table with menus and silverware. We ended up walking out. Rude and horrible service. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Get better staff. How do they make money treating people like that? Horrible. They don't even deserve 1 star. read more

If you've been to the original location in Winston you know how good they are. Well this one we loved too. Out in Mocksville at the Colin creek golf club, they've done a really nice job of outfitting the place. Great indoor seating and the patio will be really nice when the season is finally upon us covered but open. Really pretty out there. Plenty of parking out front also. We went on a Thursday evening for dinner. Granted I'd only been for lunch at the other location, this place had a nice dinner menu too. Plenty to choose from, fish, Steak, chicken, flatbreads, sandwiches and salads. Also have a full bar. Probably limited on variety of liquor but they have all the basics. Nice wine variety too, and some beer. We had a bottle of Prosecco to share and they have good prices on wine bottles. Not many places can you get a bottle of Prosecco for $27. Ordered the bruschetta for an app and loved the presentation and the thin crostini they use . Nice and light and good balsamic drizzle. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and fries and both were so good! Loved the battered twice fried fries. So crunchy til they last one! The chicken was nice and seasoned and plenty of good tzatziki. Pretty big pita and nice salad filling. My friend had the Gyro and fruit and she ate every bit of it. She also loved the tzatziki. Good amount of meat in the pita so pretty filling. Our server Kim was super sweet and loved we could joke around with her. Kept checking in on us, really good service and quick. Everything is in place for it to become a real "GO TO" restaurant, Great setting in a very fine original Country Club Club House. The food is quite good and service is outstanding. Definitely being set up by people who know what they are doing as they also own the successful Olive Tree on Stratford Road in Winston Salem. I found it to be everything I want on a casual night out to dinner. The bar is perfectly located and the tables there are tall top with comfortable chairs. We've eaten there twice and gotten take out once, all were great experiences. I like the variety of food types on the menu that ranges from inexpensive sandwich options up to higher end date night out dishes. Absolutely love the BBQ Chicken, Bacon, & Blue Cheese Flatbread, I get it without the Blue Cheese as a personal choice. My son got the club sandwich and said it was really good. I've also gotten a few drinks from the bar and they were spot on as well. Its a new place and I'm sure they have a few kinks to work out but considering the lack of anything else good to eat in Mocksville (other than Mexican), we fell lucky to have this place in our town. For a town of our size, its really sad there is nothing but a dozen fast food places, bar food joints, and some other rather ran down places. We decided to try The Olive Tree for the first time tonight. We ordered take out and the background noise was so loud, the girl taking the order had a very hard time hearing me. It took about 8 minutes to place an order of a Chicken Souvlaki Gyro, a Greek Mediterranean Salad with house vinaigrette and a cheeseburger. The Chicken Souvlaki tasted nothing like traditional souvlaki (it was good but not what I expected) and the salad we received was merely a garden salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumbers and onions - it had no artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives or feta cheese. The price difference for a garden salad vs. the Greek Mediterranean Salad was several dollars. A very small container of house dressing was given for a large salad. Seems like this may be just growing pains but for the amount of money we spent, the order should have been right. read more
