Homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese. I ate a crouton before I realized I didn't snap a pic lol.

Met a good friend here for lunch. Thursday at noon wasn't busy. Seated promptly but wasn't super hungry. Server was very friendly and efficient. Great atmosphere. Ordered a bowl or tomato basil soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Simple but she said the soup was made in-house. Soup was garnished with a little parm cheese and 4 croutons. Sandwich grilled to perfection. The soup was delicious. Wouldn't definitely get again. A great lunch experience. If you're ever down Mocksville way, stop in and say hello here. It's worth it.

Olive Tree never disappoints! I truly appreciate them being open on Sundays, because several other local options are not. Our server was so friendly and we were never in need of anything. The Italian Flatbread is delicious! The dough tastes so fresh and the toppings are perfect. My friends ordered steak salads, and the chef/owner (I believe) actually came out to explain that it looked small, but they were 4oz pieces and the only steak pieces they had left because they are about to close for a week due to the holiday. She was so kind and offered to bring them each a piece of chicken in case the steak wasn't filling enough. Of course, it was the perfect about for both of them and no other protein was needed but we all raved about how kind and executional that type of service was. Of course, it's decorated so classic and beautifully and we had a table in front of the window overlooking the golf course. It's all around such a nice place and always a good experience!

We met friends there last night. GPS took me a weird way, so PSA just take I40 to the Mocksville exit. It's a really pretty area tucked in a golf course and there's a playground. We were greeted immediately and our server was attentive. It's definitely a spot that has regulars. There's also a bar around the corner. We ordered the fried green tomato app and it was delish, sadly there were only 3. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and it was delish. The tazaki doesn't come with it so it's something to ask for, and was heavy on the dill. The sautéed veggies were good. It also came with the Mediterranean potatoes and I was expecting rosemary, but had a sweet taste so maybe cinnamon? My kid had the Mac and cheese and fries. The Mac had definitely been reheated but the cheese was good, as were the fries. It wasn't busy, but wonder if it's busier on the weekends. I'll try it out again.

We had tried to eat before but couldn't find it, arrived this time and found much better signage. The parking lot is a little walk from the restaurant doors so if you are handicapped or have trouble with mobility, you should probably get dropped off at the door. When we walked in we were greeted immediately and there was a sign with specials right there. The area restaurant has plenty of seating and good lighting. There were not a lot of patrons at this time, and the noise level was rather low. There was plenty seats available at the bar on the left side of the room as well. We were seated right away and our waitress brought our drinks out quickly. We started with the fried salmon nuggets which absolutely blew me away. They were lightly breaded with cornmeal and the fish inside was cooked perfectly. The salmon was juicy and flaked nicely and had a great fresh flavor. I got the fried pork chops with ham gravy, cheesy polenta and collard greens. Pork was cooked great and the crust wasn't too much. The gravy was a great addition, and take a bite of the pork, gravy, and polenta together all went together nicely. I had never had collards before so Im probably not a fair judge. They were a bit salty and were not much to write home about but they were not bad at all. The side of fries were crispy and hot. No overall big complaints, wasn't the most amazing food but I would certainly be back to try some of their other menu items.

Great location with plenty of parking, right off HWY 64! Each time I have been for breakfast, the location has been very clean, great service, and food has been on point. The grits are extremely good but I would say they are more like dinner grits. Am I the only person that thinks breakfast grits and dinner grits are different? With that being said, they have great flavor and you cannot go wrong here. I look forward to trying dinner here soon.

We were headed through Mocksville and took the opportunity to stop in at the newly opened Olive Tree Restaurant. Our understanding is this location is affiliated with the Olive Tree in Winston. We weren't quite sure what to expect since we knew it was located at a golf course. Neither my wife or I are golfers so we were a bit apprehensive. Colin Creek Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Mocksville and we enjoyed the drive. The parking lot is easy to navigate and the restaurant is visible from the main entrance. The trees lining the driveway and parking area are big and beautiful, it felt very charming on a spring morning. We snapped a few pictures and headed in. We were immediately greeted by two young ladies at the hostess stand. One of the young ladies took us to a table and provided us menus, we also quickly looked at the specials board. Lendis stopped in and welcomed us and also took our drink orders. We began to look over the menu and since we arrived about 10:30am we were offered both breakfast and lunch menus. Everything on both menus sounded delicious and we thought the prices were very reasonable. We both decided to order the Breakfast Steam Engine (smoked ham, turkey & applewood smoked bacon with scrambled egg, Gruyère cheese & honey mustard on griddled brioche Texas toast). We both ordered the Honey mustard on the side and my wife asked for hers to be served on a biscuit while I kept the Texas toast. I also ordered a side of hashbrowns while my wife chose a side of bacon. The interior is warm and inviting and we noticed a few things including a 100% sanitation score, a full bar and it appears they are preparing an outdoor covered patio space. Lendis told us they opened in January and are open every day except for Tuesday's. Our Breakfast Steam Engines arrived in a timely manner and looked yummy. We both dug in and thought they were very tasty. Lendis also stopped in numerous times to check in on us and we felt very well taken care of. We both agreed it was a great stop and we are anxious to make our way back out for lunch and dinner as well. We highly recommend, fabulous service, delicious food and a beautiful setting which makes it welcoming for all even if you aren't a golfer.

So glad this place was finally able to open, it's been a long time coming! The inside is very clean. There are a lot of tables, and even a bar! Unfortunately, they currently only have 1 high chair but they have 2 more ordered! We went in for breakfast this morning and the seasoned potatoes were definitely my favorite, and my daughter loved her cup of fresh fruit. Now, the only reason I'm doing 4 stars vs 5 stars - there are areas that could use some improvement! It did seem like our waitress might be new to being a waitress. She didn't stop by very often, but this will get better with time I'm sure! There's also a lot of chatting up at the hostess stand. Food wise, I just wish my omelet had been seasoned! Even if it was just salt and pepper. (Though our waitress wasn't super attentive, the owner really was! She apologized and felt so bad about the high chair and checked on us at least 3 times) We live SO close by, so we will return and I have my fingers crossed I can change this to 5 stars then!

My wife and I came here for a private event, but they don't open to the public for 2 more weeks. The facilities are amazing. A mix of old-world charm and modern clean lines. The food was Bruscetta balsamic chicken. The balsamic glaze and the cheese were a perfect combination of flavors. These came with roasted Greek potatoes. I couldn't atop getting more even when I was full. For such a simple dish, it was awesome. Along with these was a Mediterranean salad. I don't know what the dressing was, but yu-mee. Next were sautéed vegetables. Again, scrumptious. Spinach and artichoke dip on pita bread rounded things out. Oh, there was a charcuterie board setup that included the most amazing dried figs! The owners were so gracious and happy the entire time. It was a wonderful experience! We are anxious to return when they officially open.

Most of the people eating there seemed friendly, but they were morbidly obese and beat up looking. Why? Well if you eat food like this even once in a while, it's gonna cost you something other than money. Typical "country home cookin'" BS. I don't know how the chemicals in the ingredients they use are "country." If those cobblers are home-made I'll eat my hat. You get a spoonful of processed food slop that has a few slivers of dehydrated/rehydrated fruit somewhere in the oily guar-gummy mess. I also ordered the "chicken pie" envisioning an actual slice of pie coming or perhaps a mini pie of some sort. Nope.... another spoonful of processed food slop. Canned chicken and chemical goo and something that resembled high-fat "crust" was comingled with the goo. I asked for all vegetable sides and that translated to steam-pulverized green beans and mac and cheese. The chemicals in everything ensure that things taste good, and that good taste masks the hideous quality of the ingredients. The beans and mac and cheese tasted OK. I ate it, but that chicken pie..... lordy. Another reviewer mentioned that they've had better food in prison. I believe it, though I've never been to prison.... yet. I did enjoy watching the locals and the football game on the TV. It was interesting to see how morbidly obese men attach their open carry weapons to their hips about a foot deep under their love handles. You gotta lift that to get to the gun? The guy was funny and kind though. Don't know why he felt he needed a gun to protect himself when he was willing to eat the poison served on the styrofoam and Melmac dinnerware. I like tradition. I appreciate that this place is an institution in the community. I respect that. But they are serving poison. It's killing the community. Charge a bit more. Get better quality ingredients and recipes and maybe your community will survive long enough to carry your traditions longer into the future. And quit using styrofoam!!! That crap doesn't decompose for a thousand years if it ever does.

The food truck/vendor festival downtown was absolutely packed and the lines were so crazy we decided we'd rather sit down in a restaurant instead. When we walked in, they cleaned off a table and had us seated right away. We ordered the crab pretzel for an appetizer because it sounded unique and interesting. It was so rich, almost difficult to eat, so we won't be doing that again. We ordered our food and I ordered a cocktail. We actually watched the drink sit on the bar, all the ice melting... for at least 20 minutes before it was brought to our table. It was a watered down version of what could have been good. Our food took over an hour to arrive. We walked in around 1:30, and didn't leave until 2:50. The food arrived at 2:40. We only left because I had somewhere to be at 3, not because we were finished eating... my husband's burger and fries were lukewarm at best, as were my fries. My sandwich was only hot because they had forgotten to make it along with my husband's food, and someone called out for them to make one real quick. Which explains why my husband's food was no longer warm, because we watched it sit there while they made my food. I had time to take a couple bites of my sandwich before we had to try and flag down our waitress for the check and to-go boxes because I no longer had time to eat before my event. This was so, so disappointing and we were really surprised that nothing was comped from our bill. Even a check in from the manager would have been nice, just to acknowledge that this was not the norm? If it had been my first time in, I would never be back.
