Gets 2 stars for enduring over time. Great place to see where the elderly and the locals congregate. Most of the people eating there seemed friendly, but they were morbidly obese and beat up looking. Why? Well if you eat food like this even once in a while, it's gonna cost you something other than money. Typical "country home cookin'" BS. I don't know how the chemicals in the ingredients they use are "country." If those cobblers are home-made I'll eat my hat. You get a spoonful of processed food slop that has a few slivers of dehydrated/rehydrated fruit somewhere in the oily guar-gummy mess. I also ordered the "chicken pie" envisioning an actual slice of pie coming or perhaps a mini pie of some sort. Nope.... another spoonful of processed food slop. Canned chicken and chemical goo and something that resembled high-fat "crust" was comingled with the goo. I asked for all vegetable sides and that translated to steam-pulverized green beans and mac and cheese. The chemicals in everything ensure that things taste good, and that good taste masks the hideous quality of the ingredients. The beans and mac and cheese tasted OK. I ate it, but that chicken pie..... lordy. Another reviewer mentioned that they've had better food in prison. I believe it, though I've never been to prison.... yet. I did enjoy watching the locals and the football game on the TV. It was interesting to see how morbidly obese men attach their open carry weapons to their hips about a foot deep under their love handles. You gotta lift that to get to the gun? The guy was funny and kind though. Don't know why he felt he needed a gun to protect himself when he was willing to eat the poison served on the styrofoam and Melmac dinnerware. I like tradition. I appreciate that this place is an institution in the community. I respect that. But they are serving poison. It's killing the community. Charge a bit more. Get better quality ingredients and recipes and maybe your community will survive long enough to carry your traditions longer into the future. And quit using styrofoam!!! Millers is a Mocksville landmark. Been here since the 1950's and we've often enjoyed meals here over the years. It's good food for what it is: diner comfort food for all three meals. We stopped in today for a quick late breakfast before heading out grocery shopping. Miller's has always hit the mark for us, but not today. I ordered the three egg western omelette with gravy. My wife got two eggs over medium with hash browns, toast and CRISPY livermush. We also had a to-go order of home fries and a side of CRISPY bacon. My omelette was fine, no complaints. My wife was really disappointed in the livermush. Not only was it NOT crispy, it wasn't cooked all the way. She took one bite and left the rest. It's kind of a big deal for her because this is one of the few places she can get livermush and she really looks forward to it. Needless to say, this left her a little miffed. To add insult to injury, our to go order for my daughter was just as bad. The home fries had no color on them and were undercooked and the bacon was limp and rubbery. Like I said earlier, Miller's is usually spot on with their food. Not sure what's going on but it may be a while before we go back. Plenty of breakfast places around. My girlfriend, sister, and godsons were in town for a football game, so we decided to try this spot out because of their prices and reviews. All 5 of us ate for under $80 and all really enjoyed our food. I started with the lemon meringue pie, and that really did it for me. I loved it. The table started with mozzarella cheese sticks (DELICIOUS) and fried corn nuggets. I got the teriyaki chicken with collards & fried corn on the Cobb (DELICIOUS). Our server was phenomenal, and was SO good with my two godsons. She spoke to every single person at the table & was so personable. We had a GREAT experience here, and we would definitely recommend a visit if you're a local or just visiting. The inside area has two different parts to it, but both are good for a table of 1 or 6. This place is pretty much a staple of Mocksville. Any time I've been here there's always a table open for us to sit at immediately. Not because they aren't popular, because it's always pretty busy any time I've gone but they have a lot of seating. This time being no exception. Once seated our waitress brought us our drinks quickly, just water for us as usual. They have a little bottle of lemon juice on the table that you can add to your water. I love this and had never saw it anywhere but here. Their menu has a ton of options whether you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I ordered the 3 egg bacon omelette with shredded hash browns. Each time I come here I'm always impressed with how fast they bring out your order. This time I think it took about 5 minutes or so. And it's clear they don't have stuff pre-made and are just reheating it. Everything always tastes great and fresh. My one and only complaint is that the prices on the menu don't reflect their current prices. I get that with gas and the price of everything today that their prices have to go up. But it seems more expensive than I would have expected even with the price hikes. It ended up being about $25 for breakfast for two. I don't always have time to go out to breakfast but when I do this is the go to place in Mocksville, even if it seems a bit pricey. read more

Arrived in Mocksville on a Sunday evening and wanted some Sunday Supper. Millers Restaurant was about a mile from my hotel at I-40 past the mostly usual cardboard choices you find at most interstate highway exits. Glad I drove that mile to a better place and time. A quintessential southern diner with breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are three indoor dining areas in addition to what the refer to as "the back porch" which may be a bit of a secret. Oop's, mea culpa. Even later on a Sunday evening the place was still pretty busy but easy to find a physically distanced table indoors. Menu and offer of drink came quickly. Opted for the homemade meatloaf, with mashed potato and fried okra. Enjoyed it and cleaned my plate and ate all the fresh fried hush puppies that come with it. I was surprised when the section of the restaurant I was in filled up about 8:30 pm with an after church crowd. There are boards on the wall announcing the desserts and daily special. I took some homemade banana to go. Glad I did and I will be back. PS: On my way out the door I saw the most beautiful waffle being delivered to a table. Not fufu's or decoration just a perfect golden brown perfectly formed example of waffle perfection. It's still haunting me. read more

Good Basic Southern Comfort Diner Kinda reminds me of some of the diners on US 19 on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Good solid menu of meat and two and some very good breakfast combo's. One of my friends had recommended this place highly so I drove up after Church today and got there around 11:30 am. First crowd was beginning to leave and it was before the 12:00 non Church so had no problems with seating. Walked in and inquired and was told to seat myself. Found myself a comfortable booth that looked out over the Front Counter and part of a smaller dining area. Server was there shortly and took my beverage order while I was looking over the menu. Ordered Coffee and it was excellent and the cup never went dry. Choose one of the Breakfast specials which was two eggs and tenderloin along with biscuits and gravy. Eggs were order over well but came out over easy so I guess they only know one way to cook eggs. Tenderloin was tough and dry but still fairly good. Biscuits and Gravy were fantastic and the portion size was huge. Outside of under cooked eggs and overcooked tenderloin, the meal was pretty good and at a great price. Service was very good and as far as atmosphere, typical family restaurant which took me back many years. read more

I eat at Miller's about half the time I am in Mocksville, where my in-laws live. Miller's is open for three meals every day, and I rank breakfast as best, lunch as second best, and dinner . . . there are better places to eat dinner in Mocksville. On my most recent visit, i got the ham and cheese omlet. There was alot of ham. Almost too much ham, but I'm not one to complain about that. Any of the sandwiches or burgers for lunch are good, though since you are in Davie County why not get a pimento cheeseburger, a.k.a., the Davie County burger. My southern wife rates the sweet tea very highly - it's pretty darn sweet so you might consider the half-and-half. If you see it on the dessert menu, definitely give the cherry yum-yum a try! read more

Visited Miller's for lunch on a Saturday. It was early but the place was definitely busy. It's a big restaurant though and there is plenty of seating. The service was great and my waitress was very attentive. I don't think my sweet tea ever got below half-full. I ordered the footlong hot dog with chili, slaw, and mustard. The hot dog was good. Well-toasted bun. Maybe a bit heavy on the slaw but it worked. The curly fries were very good. Fried, crispy and delicious. They had a buttermilk pound cake behind the counter that looked awesome but I was already too full. I'll definitely make the trip to Miller's again in the future. read more

I was passing through this evening for a business trip. I was craving a home-cooked meal and this location seemed to fit the bill. Once I entered I was confused. There was no host or signs and there were two separate dining areas between the kitchen so I wasn't sure where to go. After a moment standing there a man walking by asked if I placed an order for pick up or was dining in. He then directed me to seat myself anywhere. After sitting at a table I was quickly greeted by a young lady and received my beverage promptly. She came back 3 times in as many minutes while I perused the menu to see if I was ready. While I was placing my order she started talking to someone else at another table. She was basically goofing off with whoever it was behind me. I got the daily special of chicken pot pie and it came quickly. It tasted good and sated my craving. When the food arrived the server refilled my drink and set the check on the table. She never checked on me while I ate. Another server offered to refill my drink and took away my empty dishes. I waited for my server to return so I could order dessert. After several minutes I got the menu out again thinking this would prompt her to come by. She finally did, but asked if I wanted to place a to go order. I said no and she left before I had a chance to say anything else. I waited several more minutes and she never came back. When I paid my check at the register the lady asked how everything was. I told her what happened and she apologized and offered go get me a dessert to go. My server at this point was hanging out with people at the order pick up. My assessment overall is that the food is tasty and reasonably priced. This is a good location for locals, but if you aren't from the area I advise you go somewhere else. It's clear that the staff are too preoccupied with socializing and entertaining the regulars to do their job properly. read more

This is a Mocksville landmark. It has been here for years. It's classic American and Southern food. This is an old school diner serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Burgers are decent as well as their blue plate specials. I have had breakfast here once and it was okay. I have a high regard and respect for local businesses that have done it right for years. People who have grown up eating here will tell you this place is the best. If you don't have the same history with Millers then you may consider it just okay. In my opinion, the food ranges from okay to really good. If you have any appreciation for the history of places like Millers then you have to give it an extra star. They do take plastic if you don't have cash, but there is a $5 minimum. Millers get very busy during prime time (lunch and dinner) so go early if you don't like crowds. read more

I am going to preface this by stating, the food is pretty decent and the staff is USUALLY very friendly. Although today I came in with my father (who is a black man, I am his white adopted daughter) and the amount of just nasty stares we got from other customers and attitude from the cashier woman, has caused us to never visit this establishment again. It is 2021 and it's sickening to me that people still treat others unfairly like this in a public establishment let alone at all. Racism is Lame guys grow up and learn to be better people. read more
