It was full of cheese and sausage and was quite enjoyable. The grits were excellent. The biscuit was more of a roll type than the standard country biscuit, but it was fresh and tasty. When I first walked in, I saw the daily specials and desserts listed on a chalkboard. I love carrot cake so I asked for a piece, thinking I'd get a nice little slice. The waitress brought it to me and I just about fainted - this slice of cake was almost a quarter of a cake. It was massive. I ended up eating maybe an eighth of it and asking for a box to take the rest home. It was a lovely, lovely carrot cake and I highly recommend it. As a side note, as I said it was lunchtime and the majority of the other diners were ordering more typical lunch food. The two ladies across from me ordered the daily special, pot roast. Now I am not much of a pot roast person, but this not only looked delicious, it smelled heavenly. I can only surmise that their regular food is just as good as their breakfast food. It was so dry and sponge-like that it practically absorbed all moisture the moment it hit your mouth. To be fair, the vegetable soup was the bright spot of the meal. It had good flavor and tasted homemade. The drinks were also good, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit.
