Says best burgers in town - opinions vary.
    Fred B.

Visited this little place for lunch today, and was once again reminded that some days are diamonds, some days are stone - and this was a stone. Funky looking place inside and out, horse motif, farrier supplies for sale - very modestly furnished, peanuts on the table. They are very laid back here, very laid back - it took 30 minutes to get a cheeseburger, 2 hot dogs, and some fries. The dogs were small (Zack's in Burlington small), and the chili was a dark, dark, brown - and tasted commercially perpared They are cheap, 2 dogs and a side of pretty good fries were $4. The burger (about $5 with a side) was simply overcooked - crusty and charred on one side - not a burger that should have ever made it inside a bun. Saw on the wall that they had been written up in the November issue of Southern Living as a place that "serves up fresh, local food with no pretense..." - somebody missed the boat on that score. Needless to say we will not be back.

Under new management, this place is definitely a MUST!!! My daughter and I went on Monday, their grand reopening day for lunch and went back today, three days later for more deliciousness. Prices are extremely reasonable and I would highly recommend the Clydesdale Burger!

Ham & Cheese sandwich is excellent. Got a great salad with shrimp there, too . Every meal I have had there was great!

The chicken was fried nicely, crispy golden brown, tender and juicy. Good fried chicken. The mash done well, the greens very good with just a splash of vinegar. The peaches and cottage cheese just like when I was a kid, nothing fancy but good comfort food. Had dinner here recently. A busy little eatery thats very popular with locals. Good home cooking is whats on the menu here, with kind staff and fair prices. Sits in the corner of the strip center its in, a small interior with mostly booths and a few tables. Our servers have all been friendly and kind, they take their time and make sure your visit is good. 4 Stars a solid choice for a good home style meal 01258

We were seated and welcomed immediately. Our server was so nice and friendly and was still attentive to us while doing her other tasks. Everyone working was busy as a bee. We tried their cheese sticks as well as hush puppies and they were yummy, too! We will definitely go again if in the area!

My son and I were in Winston-Salem for the International Black Theatre Festival with Visit Winston,…read moreand when I learned we had free time for lunch, one recommendation immediately caught my attention. Between the rave reviews and the beautifully designed space, I knew this would be our stop. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the parking lot was on the smaller side, but any concern disappeared the moment we checked in. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked for my license plate so she could validate our parking, and had us seated almost immediately. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the experience. On the way to our table, I couldn't help but notice the inviting patio, perfect for lingering over lunch on a beautiful day. That said, I had reserved an indoor table, and I'm glad I did. The dining room is intimate, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's the kind of restaurant that feels equally suited for a catch-up with friends as it does for a date night. The tables are close together, creating a lively atmosphere, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you prefer a little more privacy. Our server, Aundria, made an already wonderful experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. It was also refreshing to see the entire team working together so seamlessly, with everyone stepping in to help one another throughout the meal. I ordered the lobster roll with shoestring fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The lobster was fresh, buttery, and generously portioned, making it one of those dishes I'd happily order again. Before we left, I asked Aundria what she reaches for when she dines there. Without hesitation, she recommended the Korean Beef Bowl, which has already earned a spot on my list for my next visit. As if the experience couldn't have ended on a sweeter note, it started raining just as we were leaving. The hostess grabbed an umbrella and walked me to my car, a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we experienced from start to finish. Great food is memorable, but genuine hospitality is what keeps me coming back. This restaurant delivered both, and it's officially earned a place on my list of Winston-Salem favorites.

My wife and I just moved from New Orleans and were looking for a new date night spot. Whereas the…read moreambience and cocktails are great, the food was incredibly disappointing. The "Korean Beef Bowl" came with about a cup of each beef, rice, cucumbers and maybe 1/4th of an avocado for $24. This looked and tasted like a $14 dollar plate at best (seriously, no kimchi even in a Korean bowl?); I left hungry. My wife got the Thai coconut curry, $30 bucks which included an $8 up charge for chicken, in which there were maybe 8 paper thin slices. The curry part was non existent both in volume and in taste. There was barely any sauce, very bland, and it essentially tasted like unseasoned noodles and vegetables. I would gladly come back for a happy hour and enjoy their other drink options and appetizers, but I just cannot justify paying the exorbitant prices for how mediocre the food ultimately was. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to add weight to the review but it was so lackluster looking that it just was not worth photographing in the moment.

We sat inside and the young lady helping us was very gracious. A short menu with some daily specials on the board. After giving the menu a once over, I opted for the BBQ plate with mashed taters and collard greens, with hush puppies and a pink lemonade. Served on disposable plates, it served its purpose. Nothing fancy, just good home style cooking. The bbq was pull apart tender, the mashed potatoes done well, the puppies golden brown and the collards proper. The greens needed seasoning but were cooked well. All in all, a simple homestyle lunch cooked well. 3.5 Stars rounded up for the kind service 01134
