We just stopped by to eat on a recommendation from my 91 year old grandmother. I love you and thank you grandma Lessie. It was amazing. The service was great, there was no wait time to be seated and the feel of the restaurant was amazing. The food was great, came out hot and fresh just the way we ordered it. It has the down home welcome here type feel and it makes you feel invited and welcome. I recommend trying this restaurant.

Ordered via DoorDash, and loved their breakfast. Portion sizes were slightly too small, which is the reason one star is lacking. Other than that, we enjoyed this. Slightly greasy, but ok for a one off. Their salmon patty's is what won us over, they were delicious. Will like to visit their restaurant next time for the salmon patty's.

2 perfectly soft scrambled eggs, and a lot of crispy bacon.

We stopped in this newest location of the growing Cagney chain yesterday for a late breakfast, and it simply could not have been a better experience - food, service, atmosphere, pricing. We'd eaten several meals here when it was the Olde Orchard Diner, and while we enjoyed those, this dining experience was at an entirely different level. We got there a few minutes before 11 AM, and it was moderately busy, with some folks wrapping up a late breakfast, some beginning an early lunch. We seated ourselves, and were quickly presented menus, and our drink orders were taken. We decided to go for the late breakfast this time out - Alice choosing a special that included a pancake, 2 eggs, and bacon ($5.25), while I went with Country Fried Steak (after confirming it came with traditional white, peppered gravy), 2 eggs over medium, grits, and toast ($6.95). I wanted to try a side of hash browns (they have both the shredded, and the chunky, home fried styles here), and I went with the chunky because the waitress said they would come out nice and crispy. She was really cool, had worked for the Old Orchard Diner for 16 years, and then made the transition here - seems we were in a good place, indeed. The food came out rather quickly, 10 minutes or less, and perfect in every way. The pancake was huge, loaded with flavor, the syrup almost superfluous - the soft scrambled eggs superbly done, with the exact liquidity needed and requested - the bacon amazingly plentiful at these prices - the Country Fried Steak was exactly as expected, the white gravy sinful - the eggs over medium were, indeed, just that - the grits were the kind where you have no need for shrimp, the question never came up - the toast was perfect, the butter already applied - and the hash browns were sublime, no, more than that, it was food for the Gods - real potatoes, crispy as promised! I don't suggest that everyone will have the same experience - tastes vary, experiences are subject to a multitude of variances, expectations are often unfounded & woefully ignorant, and some folks go into a fish house and insist on ordering a steak, cooked well done. This house is local, Southern, diner cuisine at its best - the food, the atmosphere, and the people employed here reflect that - if you expect more, or except less, you are at the wrong place.

I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat. I was absolutely satisfied and way too full by the time I left. Luckily, we got there right before the church crowds and were seated immediately. I went with my usual breakfast pick of two eggs - over medium, shredded hashbrowns, sausage patties and toast. However, this time I added gravy to go with my biscuit. The eggs were perfectly cooked. No runny whites but the yolk was slimy goodness for my toast to soak up. The sausage was decent but I wished it would have been a tad spicer. Now, the biscuit. That was the best biscuit I had ever had. So light and fluffy. Perfectly crisp on the outside. Made for holding other perfect foods, like my gravy. *heart flutters* The service was good. Waitresses all interacted with the tables around us with smiles and our coffee and waters were always full! Top notch breakfast experience!

Do not eat at cagneys on old Salisbury. Me and my friend went. Our food was burnt and had no taste. The waitress was made aware, but didn't care. I had the Carolina burger which has chili, cheese, onions, slaw and mustard. I first left the slaw and mustard off. When I tasted it, I added those items and it was still gross and burnt. When I looked at the chili, it looked like dog food. Thin, watery with white specs. Chili is what makes the Carolina burger. I told Lewan the owner and he did absolutely nothing to make it right. He didn't volunteer any way to make things right. The best cagneys is at Cloverdale. I advise that you stay away from the old Salisbury rd location. Anytime an owner doesn't care about the prep, ingredients and delivery of your meal, that's not a place that you want to eat at

Country fried steak and eggs. Across the table ham and cheese omelet with gravy.

Soooooooo good. Very clean and excellent service. Husband got a ham and cheese omelette and a biscuit with gravy which he loved. It was so big he didn't even finish it all. I ordered country fried steak and eggs which breakfast potatoes. Sooo delish! Country fried steak was not dry like most places I've been and the gravy was very flavorful. The breakfast potatoes (I added onions), I could've eaten 3 plates of! If we're ever this way again, I'd definitely stop.

Thought I'd give the new place a try. Must say super friendly staff. I hadn't been smiled at so much in my life. Sat down, and hot waited on right away. I decided to try the daily special of meatloaf. Typically I don't ask people's opinion of the food I will order and try it. But when it comes to meatloaf it is either pretty good or oh my what was I thinking. The waitress said she didn't know but then said a lot of folks order it. Fine give me the meatloaf. I then eye fried squash a weakness of mine. So I ask for another suggestion as there are a lot of choices and she said tater tots. I saw a picture of Mac and cheese and said that looks good. My food was fairly fast out. Everything was like lava hot. The meatloaf was fairly good. It had flavor and wasn't just meat and onion. The fried squash oh my goodness!!! They need to let them rest a little longer as they were a little too oily at the bottom of the bowl. The Mac and cheese, which typically I am not a fan of, was pretty good. It was creamy, and super cheesy. My biggest complaint would be the service. Very, very friendly. However after my food arrived I didn't see anyone until I was done eating.

My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

My partner got the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit with an iced latte. The lattes: go with a flavored one if you grab a coffee here. Their plain latte was not that good but their vanilla latte was very good. Biscuits: WOW! The Hangover Cure is hefty with plenty of biscuit to go around - I had some to take home with me. It was absolutely everything I needed after a night of imbibing with friends. My partner also enjoyed his biscuit. Cinnamon roll: very good! They had a variety of baked goods to choose from. Technically they have to use the same waffle maker so if you are a severe Celiac you should be aware of that, luckily our party member is able to chance very slight cross-contamination so it was not a worry big enough to override the desire for waffles. If it is an issue for you, they offer pancakes instead so you can still have a treat. We did not experience any ill-effects but your mileage may vary of course. Both the gluten free and standard breakfast options were terrific, it seems like everything was made in-house. We will absolutely be back. It seems like they have some limitations on how much of certain foods they can turn out (for example, they probably only have a handful of waffle makers) so it did take a little while to get our food. This isn't uncommon for brunch at many places but I don't know what it's like during dinner service so I can't speak to that. The place itself is beautiful, it looks like an old home or B&B and it's got a cozy charm. My only complaint was the Mimosa price being a bit high and the drink itself just being a standard cava+orange juice. I'd love to see $2 knocked off the Mimosa price if I could choose, but otherwise everything was so good. Finally, do get a reservation or be prepared to wait during the top hours.

We called ahead last week to reserve a table for 8 but it ended up being just the 6 of us. They still sat us at a nice oversized table (almost too large) in a semi-private room which was a pleasant surprise. Our waiter Brandon was very nice and friendly, prompt with orders, and always checking back in regularly. He also offered some suggestions on personal and fan favorites (shrimp and grits, beignets) I can't resist flight options when they're on the menu, so I had to go with the mimosa flight. I tried the sunrise, tropical, and Tiffany (OJ/tequila, bacardi/coconut/pineapple, and lemonade / blue zest). My favorite was actually the Tiffany even though I'm not a huge fan of lemonade, it was light and refreshing and crisp/chill, exactly how I love it. The other two were tasty but not as cold - I asked for ice - but probably because they're made with tequilas that aren't refrigerated. For our entrees, we got an assortment of benedicts, salads, and chicken/waffles. I personally had the pork belly benedict. The pork belly itself was really good and the poached eggs were perfectly runny, but as a whole, it fell a little flat, just didn't quite deliver the entire burst of flavor I was hoping for. It was not bad by any means, I think it just needed a/more sauce or something. All in all though, we had a great time and would definitely return. Pricing is pretty fair/standard as well. I could definitely be tempted by the martini or margarita flight next time as well as the beignets which we totally forgot about after the waiter initially suggested them!

The hotel did not disclose this issue before check-in or at the time of booking. By the time I learned of the problem, my family had already settled into our rooms. I was traveling with a screaming infant, and the room temperatures reached approximately 90°F. Despite these conditions, the hotel did not provide fans, portable cooling units, or any meaningful accommodations to help guests cope with the heat. I had specifically requested that my two rooms be located next to each other when making the reservation, but that request was not honored. The staff was neither accommodating nor empathetic regarding the situation. I called the front desk several times to express my concerns. The gentleman with the beard who assisted me appeared indifferent to the seriousness of the situation and repeatedly stated that there was nothing that could be done. While I understand that he may not have been able to repair the air conditioning, the hotel could have offered a refund or another reasonable accommodation so that my family could relocate to a hotel with functioning air conditioning. No such option was offered. As a result, we were unable to sleep and experienced significant discomfort, including headaches and nausea due to the excessive heat. It is especially concerning that the hotel was aware the air conditioning was inoperable but failed to disclose this before guests checked in. Following our stay, I sent multiple emails to both CN Hotels and The Hawthorne Inn & Conference Center's reservations department regarding these serious concerns. To date, I have received no response or acknowledgment from either party. I documented the conditions throughout our stay and will be filing complaints with the North Carolina Department of Justice Consumer Protection Division and the Forsyth County Environmental Health Division. Hotels have a responsibility to disclose significant issues, such as the complete loss of air conditioning, before guests arrive so they can make an informed decision about whether to stay. Failing to disclose this information during an extreme heat wave, while refusing to offer a refund or reasonable accommodations, falls well below the level of customer service and transparency that guests should expect.
