Famous Toastery - Davidson, NC…read more Let me just start this the only way possible... "Best breakfast everrrrrrrr." (Read that in Chris Tucker's voice from Friday ) Listen. I don't throw those words around lightly. I'm a breakfast professional. I've traveled. I've eaten. I've sacrificed stretchy waistbands for less. First of all Kayla J. Service? VIP. Celebrity status. I felt like I walked in with a security detail. The way she checked on us? I thought she was about to hand me a Grammy. Attentive, friendly, and faster than my metabolism trying to survive those portions. Now let's talk FOOD. The corned beef hash with potatoes and eggs? My goodness. The eggs were perfectly cooked -- that yolk broke open like it had something to prove. The corned beef? Crispy, juicy, seasoned like somebody's grandma was back there supervising the kitchen. The potatoes? Golden. Crunchy. Faith restored. And these portions?? They don't believe in small plates here. They believe in "Cancel your lunch plans" plates. I wasn't eating breakfast... I was entering a commitment. You know it's serious when you're halfway through and start negotiating with yourself: "Alright... one more bite... for America." And don't even get me started on the pancakes. Fluffy like they were trained in altitude. Powdered sugar falling like breakfast confetti. Absolute madness. Famous Toastery in Davidson isn't just breakfast it's a spiritual experience with syrup. 10/10. Would return. Would loosen belt again. If you're anywhere near Davidson and not eating here... you're playing yourself.

This is the happy groom of a dream wedding!…read more My new wife and I are proud foodies and we eat in very high end restaurants. We shopped around through about 5 different well-known caterers in Charlotte, NC. None of the caterer's scored very high on our score card (and yeah, that's right we made a score card...wedding's are expensive and we weren't going to chance something as important as food). Then...our wedding planner pointed us to one final option. Mellorina's Catering Llc. Talk about an unexpected location. But I will testify Mel is a true pearl hidden in the depths of the ocean. Her professionalism, her prices, her food...OMG HER FOOD!!!!! I was born and raised in the south and I have not tasted chicken that tasted that good in my entire life. She is so flexible too. She made us a curry tofu dish, she made us a carribbean rice & peas, she made the most amazing mac & cheese, delectable corn bread, flawless dinner rolls. This woman's food is serious, she should be a 5 star chef, with her own restaurant, cooking books, the whole nine yards. All in all, if you want to know what caterer to use for your event in Charlotte, NC (or any surrounding areas) please stop wasting your time, stop searching, and find Mel. Find her catering company, and do whatever you have to do to get her on the books. There were many things that fell into place to make our wedding a dream come true. But one of the main reasons is because of the food & service from : Mellorina's Catering Llc You don't believe me, give the food a taste and see for yourself

I'm writing this as the sister of the bride because I witnessed firsthand how this caterer nearly…read moreruined what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of my sister's life. We were literally in the middle of getting ready for her wedding rehearsal when my sister got a call from her venue, The Magnolia Room. The venue was calling to say that there were no bartenders, no staff, and possibly not even any catering because the vendors told them they weren't coming -- they hadn't been paid. You can imagine the shock, panic, and heartbreak my sister felt getting this news the day before her wedding, while she's trying to enjoy what should have been a joyful moment with her family and friends. She checked her email and found a message from the caterer where he casually said that he would "no longer be able to take care of the wedding tomorrow due to health issues." That was it. No phone call, no warning -- just an email less than 24 hours before the wedding. He even sent her a list of the vendors he had never paid, despite the fact that my sister had paid him months ago, in full. Because of his complete failure and dishonesty, my sister had to come out of pocket again -- at the last minute -- to pay for services she had already paid him for. I watched her, exhausted, in tears, calling around to salvage her own wedding because of this man's utter lack of responsibility. My sister still has not received her money despite his promise of refunding her within 14 days after the wedding. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. It was heartbreaking to watch my sister go through this -- the stress, the expense, the betrayal -- all because someone took her money, made empty promises, and walked away. Do not trust this company with your event.

Less than 24 hours before my wedding, Alexander Cruz canceled on us after having been paid months and even years in advance through multiple payments. He claimed it was due to "health issues," but that doesn't excuse the fact that he never paid any of the subcontractors -- no rental company, no staffing company, no bartenders. They all confirmed to us that he never paid them, even though we had already paid him in full. He left us scrambling at the last minute, nearly ruining our wedding. His lack of professionalism and accountability is shocking. One week after our wedding, he still has not refunded us a single cent. To make matters worse, his supposed coordinator, Gina Ricca, completely ghosted us. When things fell apart, she simply disappeared without offering any help, apology, or explanation. At this point, it's clear this is not just poor business practice -- it's dishonest and borderline fraudulent behavior. He took our money, failed to deliver the service, failed to pay his subcontractors, and is now avoiding responsibility. He is a scammer, and I would strongly warn anyone against trusting him with your money or your event.

I would not change a thing. After many years of entertaining, I would suggest that the amount of food depends somewhat on the age of the guests. For people 15 to 30, you will need more food that for older people. Another possibility is to have someone serve the plates, particularly for the entree. It would be advantageous to have a pasta dish with unlimited access for huge appetites. I have attended several other parties catered by Armin which were great. So sorry the bride had a bad experience.
