Catering By Tracy - Grilled banana peppers, mushrooms, whole chickens, Pork BBQ

Catering By Tracy

Hello yelpers, I…read morewanted to tell you about an awesome time we had yesterday at Lake Norman. My brother in law and sister in law hired catering by Tracy to cook dinner for us. This lady was so personable so humble about her business and her cooking. I'm going to start off with each item she cooked yesterday. Tracy cooked a phenomenal meal. We had grilled chicken which was seasoned and tender. She made a sauce called "yellow sauce" yummy. She also made us a Southern boil and it was delicious. It had jumbo shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes that were spot on with flavor and cooked to perfection. She made macaroni and cheese, creamy and cheesy (with just enough cheese). String beans which were well seasoned and a garden salad with homegrown tomatoes at least 2-3 kind she put in the salad. She made her own dressing (ranch and vinaigrette) garlic bread that we didn't get to touch because it was so much food, but I'm sure was good too. Her cocktail sauce addictive. Oh I can't forget the fudge brownie with white chocolate chucks the apple bites which taste like a mini apple pie. Both of these items were equally delicious. Last but not least, Ms. Tracy's personality was infectious, she seem like one of the family members, sweet, kind and open to people. That was truly the cherry on top for this wonderful gathering. Blessed by heartfelt food made with love. Thank you Jim and Susan and a special thank you to Tracy.

I attended a wedding that was catered by Catering by Tracy and the food was definitely decent. One…read morething that was incredibly frustrating was the pineapple on the fruit kabobs still had the outside skin on it making it just about impossible to eat during the cocktail hour. Overall the fruit was amazing and fresh though, just a bit impractical with the pineapple. Now the biggest reason I was unhappy with their catering was because when the dessert was served, they cut very few pieces and had them on the table for guests to grab. That's great, but those pieces were quickly gone and nobody was serving more pieces and the caterer didn't leave the little dessert plates on the table for people to serve themselves either. Secondly, while we sat down for dessert, the photographers yelled out that they wanted everyone on the dance floor for a quick group photo. After the photo was taken, I get back to my table and me and my husbands dessert is gone. The caterer was clearing all the tables as we took that photo which was so annoying since it took me forever to get a plate of dessert to begin with! Anyway, the foods not bad, just the way a few things were done was definitely the most memorable part of the wedding for me unfortunately.

Uptown

As a foodie transplant from the West Coast, walking into Reid's immediately reminded me of a…read morebeloved high-end grocer back home--something along the lines of Draeger's: beautifully curated, family-owned, and designed to feel like a destination rather than just a place to shop. There's a real sense of history here. From what I understand, Reid's is one of the oldest grocers in Charlotte, and that legacy shows in the details. The rich green tile, classic signage, and thoughtfully designed layout create an elevated, almost European-style market experience. It feels polished, intentional, and welcoming all at once. What stands out: * The store is beautifully merchandised and carefully curated with specialty and seasonal items you don't always find elsewhere. * The wine bar and café concept make this more than a grocery stop--it's a place to linger. I've enjoyed flights, tastings, and brunch on the patio, and each visit has felt like a small occasion. * Location-wise, it really depends on which store you're visiting. The SouthPark and Myers Park locations have easy, convenient parking, and there's also a newer location in Ballantyne (near Pineville). The Uptown locations, while not necessarily "easy parking," are incredibly walkable--perfect if you live, work, or have meetings nearby. If you're already Uptown, this is a fantastic stop to pick up elevated items for a beautiful dinner--think wine, specialty cheeses, or even something indulgent like caviar to round things out. One thing I appreciate is that Reid's doesn't try to be everything to everyone. It's not an organic-focused market like Whole Foods, and that's okay--it serves a different purpose. The clientele here tends to be people looking for specialty ingredients, elevated prepared foods, and a more curated shopping experience. Many shoppers probably visit both stores depending on their needs, and I find myself doing the same. When Reid's really shines: During the holidays and special seasons. Their selection of unique, festive, and hard-to-find items makes it a go-to for entertaining or finding something a little extra special. Overall, Reid's feels like a true Charlotte institution--elegant, distinctive, and consistently well executed. It's the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel enjoyable again, and I'm looking forward to continuing to explore more of what they offer as I keep eating my way through Charlotte. Bottom line: A beautifully curated local market with history, charm, and a destination-worthy wine bar--perfect for specialty shopping, brunch, and seasonal finds.

Went here for the first time…read more Food was good and tasty. The salmon wasn't dry like other places. Good amount of chicken pieces in the soup. Only downside is the noodles are not the bigger/thicker. Service is fast. You line up and they serve you. It's a quick to go spot. Ambiance is chill. Note: food is pricey for lunch Will have to stop by here some other time.
