This is the best taco food truck in the Charlotte area! We used Tin Kitchen to cater a birthday party and it was a huge success! We had about 30 people at the party and every single person was raving at the amazing tacos. Their pork belly tacos were my favorite! I also tried their black bean nachos and they were so good! Their spicy salsa roja is absolutely top tier. I loved that they were able to pull right up to the house that we were having the party at and were very efficient and quick in taking everyone's orders. I would highly recommended them for any party. Everyone was so nice and super accommodating. read more

We first experienced Tin Kitchen at a food truck event in Charlotte. It was amazing!! THEN they just catered a wedding we went to in Gastonia and OH MY GOSH what an incredible experience we had with them. The food from appetizers to main course were TOP NOTCH but I have to say the servers were the stars of the show. They were courteous, engaging and friendly and honestly a joy!! I hope they see this review and pat themselves on the back for being outstanding human beings who take pride in their work!! read more

I tried this food truck when they were at a local taproom. The guys working were great and offered me some suggestions. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the food. I ordered one of their special sliders which was alright. The shrimp taco was so-so and I was not a fan of the Al pastor (which is usually my favorite). read more

This food truck is great! The food is top notch and always fresh! Their menu has a variety of options that can work for everyone and all types of diets - tacos, sliders, nachos, etc. They are located at various breweries, so the foods go perfect with beer/drinks! They are always very helpful in making food choices. They also accept cash and card, which is super convenient nowadays! If you see them at a brewery near you, try them out! read more

Portion sizes are small for the price. Food takes 15 minutes to come out. We tried the Chipotle chicken quesadilla, pork carnitas quesadilla, and chips and salsa. Each quesadilla is $7.50 for three triangles and a side of sou. The chipotle chicken was better than the pork carnitas. Chips and salsa were ok. They ran out of their usual salsa so they substituted with a green salsa. read more

Pictured: - BBQ Beef Brisket w Chipotle Slaw (7/10) - Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla (6.5/10) Likes: - Great flavor on the bbq and very very tender. - Good value and unique flavors combos! Dislikes: - The BBQ Taco was spicy, and I'm not too sure about spicy barbecue. - The quesadilla needed some sauce on the inside, it was a little dry. Also had a few too many tomatoes! Always great to try an OG food truck, and I would definitely like to try a couple more things from Tin Kitchen! For now, the truck earns a 3.4 star rating because the food is great for a food truck, but could be better! read more

Food was excellent. Ordered the Chana bowl and the couscous was my favorite ! I have ate here in the past and usually get the goat cheese nachos, which are prefect for the munchies when your at the pub. Very good customer service, always a good attitude and helpful suggestions. Idk how these guys do it, with the heat and having to stand in a metal box all day there's no way I'd be able to serve up great food and happy smiles! Highly recommend this food truck, I would definitely check them out if you see them at an event. read more

Tin Kitchen is a food truck that I have repeatedly seen at breweries (Noda and Sycamore, just to name a few) but never felt compelled to try. That all ended one Sunday Funday when I found myself hungry and perched at Sycamore. Since they were conveniently located on site, I decided it would be as good as any time to finally try them. I placed my order for the buffalo cauliflower and lime shrimp tacos. I was then shocked when I heard my name called about two minutes later letting me know it was ready. I raced back to my seat and dove into the cauliflower taco. I was underwhelmed. All I could taste was buffalo sauce (that tasted like some of the mediocre bottled stuff) and nothing else. Maybe if they consider roasting the cauliflower beforehand, it would enhance the taste. The bleu cheese crumbles added absolutely nothing. I would suggest they make those thicker pieces. The cilantro-lime shrimp tacos were okay. I found the cilantro lime aioli to be watery and lacking real flavor. Nothing memorable about these at all. I think there definitely needs to be something with more of a substantial crunch on these tacos. Tin Kitchen regularly pops up in my business park so I figured I would give them another shot. I ordered a chicken tinga taco and, just like last time, my taco was ready in a flash. I definitely enjoyed this one the most, so far, of the three I have tried. Flavors were much more pronounced, with juicy chicken and a sauce with just the right amount of spice. Tacos are priced at $3.50 each and they are on the smaller side. In addition, they sell quesadillas, nachos, salads, and sliders. They normally have specials of the day. Personally, I do not feel inclined to try anything other than the tacos but I've heard the Korean BBQ sliders are pretty good so maybe on another day I see them around, I'll give those a shot. They keep their core menu pretty much the same so I can see myself trying out the remaining four taco flavors just to see if I end up liking any others. read more

As a venue owner it is so hard to find reliable, GOOD quality caterers. Not only is TIN kitchens menus always incredible, but their staff is top notch. They leave our prep area cleaner and more organized than when they arrived , treat fellow vendors and guests with such grace and are always a pleasure to be around! It doesn't hurt that their aesthetic is always clean, modern and trendy! Thanks for everything you do, TIN kitchen! - Caitlyn Holton (the legacy at Gregory downs, new Salem, NC) read more

Food trucks and tacos, enough said. I'm a huge fan of food trucks and I'm always happy to see Tin Kitchen at the foot truck Friday events. Who doesn't love tacos right? Luckily if you don't they have a wide variety of options like quesadillas for you who like to be extraordinary, but trust me when I tell you that these tacos are a must! I went ahead with one of their recommended tacos and got the chicken tinga. Omg! This is one my top tacos of all time. Never had it before, but it's now in the top. I was extra hungry so I got one of their quesadilla specials with chicken. I'm one of those extraordinary people who love things other than taco, but no worries I still love tacos. I love mixing these great tacos with my beer and enjoy having a nice conservation with the owners and chef of the food truck. Can't wait for the next Food Truck Friday to have another one of their delicious tacos. read more

So we came to "The Chamber" a Wooden Robot spin off and like the Wooden Robot but in it's own right "The Chamber is a cool place with a parking garage near by (Download the Parkmobile App in advance), the Light rail is seriously right at the back door and tto really top things off the THE TIN KITCHEN was parked right there in the backyard, ready for customers. The truck is very unassuming but the treasure that comes out of that truck is pretty amazing and flavorful. The wife had the salad with chicken, I ordered the Kim Chi Dilla and we had an order of Nachos and as always we shared the 3 items and they were all very good and of course with any items on the outside i am concerned with Whey in the flour products but I am happy to say "NO WHEY!" lol So for me I was happy on all fronts and so was the wife. If you see this truck out tooling around make sure you wave them down or if they are parked have some pretty tasty food and great customer service. The only downside is with any of these trucks is plastic ware, sauce cups etc. Did not bother the review score as it is the world we live in. So have some good food and enjoy. read more

I come here almost every time I go to NoDa Brewing. They are, after all, permanently parked outside. Everyone agrees tacos go great with beer. Especially after the Wednesday night run club around the block. Of course there aren't just tacos. They have quesadillas, sliders and nachos and will turn any taco or slider into a salad for you too. The prices aren't bad, but you can quickly rack up a bill when your eyes start getting bigger than your stomach. And who can blame you when you see these delicious flavor combos? There are drinks, although when you're hitting them up you're probably close to alcohol so... They have a card reader and will take your name and holler it out. When the line is short and quick it won't take more than 10 minutes to get your food. This is one of the best food trucks in the Charlotte area. read more

Love that Noda brewing always has a tin kitchen food truck on site! The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful and your food is served hot and in a timely manner. I've eaten from this food truck several times and have never been disappointed. They serve good sized portions and it's delicious. The menu isn't too diverse, but they can only keep so much on the truck so that's understandable. If you see one of the tin kitchen trucks anywhere, be sure to stop and get something, you won't be disappointed. read more

Terrible customer service. If you find them at an event you may want to go to another vendor. Their menu looks ok but that really doesn't matter if they run out of what you want and then can't or chose not to make it right. This was my first and last time ordering from this food truck. We were at an event and standing in a very long line on a 90+ degree day. After waiting in line for at least 30 minutes, the owner marked an entire section of items off the menu. I can understand that. It was busy. This is where I have an issue with them and their lack of care for their customers. When I got to the front I ordered 2 tacos (chicken and vegetarian) since what I originally wanted was no longer available. A minute later while I was waiting for the food, the woman who took my order called me back and said they were out of chicken. Seriously! Ok, well the only other item they had left that I could eat was a kids quesadilla. I asked if she could just substitute the kids quesadilla ($6) for the taco ($5)...and she replied that would be extra. WTF!! After a customer stood in that long line for nearly an hour by that time in 90 degree heat to buy from you, you couldn't just make a simple substitution and keep a customer happy!? SERIOUSLY!! You want to charge extra for a 1 dollar difference. That was stupid! I canceled the entire order. I own my own business and I know that you should give a damn about your customers. There were other food truck options available and next time I'll be sure to choose one of them instead. read more

I'd like to first off forewarn everyone that the tortillas for the tacos are dripping in oil and crispy on the edges. If you can get past the oiliness, then continue reading... The food here looks, smells, and tastes delicious. I ordered the BBQ Beef Brisket Tacos which comes with 2 tacos and a choice of a side (I got the cilantro rice). I wasn't even hungry and downed the dish in nearly 5 minutes flat. Yes, the filling was that good. The brisket was tender and drenched in flavorful sauce. It was accompanied with a slaw and green onions. The tortillas were really oily and on a healthy day I would respond with only a face of disgust. But, at least it's crispy. For a better idea for the level of fry, it's like they dipped it in oil and tossed it on the flat top. It's half way between a soft and hard taco shell. The serving size is large for 2 tacos, but small for $8 (that's the price of gourmet!). I would love to try more dishes here (gotta chase down the food truck) but I can't quite make this a regular excursion. read more

I had seen the TIN Kitchen rolling around Charlotte a bunch of times over the years and never gave it much of a thought or even knew what it served. That was a mistake....the food I had was A+. We ordered the chicken tinga & beef brisket tacos and then the chipotle chicken, pork al pastor and kids quesadillas with a side of ginger pickles. The tacos were great, but the quesadillas were the star of the show. The tortilla was buttery and crispy and the ingredients were tender and flavorful. If i were to come across this food truck again I would focus my efforts on the quesadillas. The only thing missing was a nice margarita. I typically don't like food trucks. They are usually over priced and overrated. And, it sucks eating food off a flimsy plate with a plastic fork while sitting on a curb of standing up....but, the TIN Kitchen would be my choice amongst the sea of trucks. read more

This is one of my favorite food trucks in Charlotte. They've been around for a while now and you can find them permanently at NoDa Brewing. We had a happy hour at NoDa so I decided to get some tacos while we were there. I went with the chana masala, cilantro-lime shrimp, and the cauliflower goat cheese (special) tacos. The chana masala was definitely my favorite of the three, but I really enjoyed all of them. They are pretty good sized tacos. They all had really good flavor. There wasn't a line when I was there, so the food was ready a few minutes after I ordered. They were really friendly and gave me some recommendations. I love a good food truck, but TIN Kitchen has set the bar so much higher than any other food truck I've had! They offer tacos, quesadillas, salads and nachos etc. and even have combo plates available (3 tacos for $10!) if you want to get a bang for your buck. The food is awesome, we ordered the following: *3 Taco Combo with Pork Belly, Brisket and Shrimp *Chicken Quesadilla Combo with Rice and Beans *Nachos (we did not add meat--though it is an option for $3 more) Everything was so tasty. The pork belly was my personal favorite, but all the tacos were fresh and flavorful. Each had it's own sauce that truly enhanced the taste of the proteins. The nachos also stood out as they are so different from what you expect. They are served with cotija cheese, salsa verda and a pretty hot red sauce. The chips are cold--which I know sounds strange, but the flavor profile with all the ingredients really works. Great experience all around! read more

TIN Kitchen is one of the best food trucks in queen city.....again I say the best! I have been a fan of this truck for years and I was introduced to them at Southpark eats when I worked in that area. They truly have something for everyone on this truck, vegan, vegetarian, etc. I believe they have more than one truck and I've probably tried most of their offerings and have never been disappointed as everything has always been superb! They're probably most known for the many taco offerings(buffalo cauliflower, stewed chick pea, chicken, pork belly, shrimp, beef brisket, etc.) and the salad and sliders are great as well. I was able to try them again recently outside of the panthers stadium and this time I tried the garden veggie quesadilla with roasted peppers, grilled squash, mushrooms, onions, and garlic aioli with a side of quinoa and chips and salsa......everything was amazing, so if you come across this truck, give them a try. read more

Tin Kitchen is the #1 thing still talked about to this day from our wedding in September 2023! Everyone LOVED the food truck & raved about the sliders, but the tacos were also very enjoyed. Several times I have tried to go to the Tin Kitchen Food Truck and the line is so long that I don't wait for it. But if the line is long, it has to be good. I caught it on a day at Wells Fargo when the line wasn't extremely long, but there were about six people ahead of me. Everyone told me to try the tacos so I decided on a three taco combo. There's plenty of different flavors from around the world. And in the combo you can mix and match. I got a buffalo cauliflower, pork belly and pork carnitas. The ordering process and getting food took a total of about 20 minutes. Finally I got to eat the tacos. The buffalo cauliflower was a little lackluster. The buffalo taste wasn't as strong or spicy as I like it and there didn't seem to be enough of the cauliflower pieces. I did appreciate the Blue cheese slaw. Now what made me up this review to four stars instead of three, is the pork belly taco. The pork belly is cooked to perfection with a sweet sauce paired with fresh kim chee. I would have been very happy to order just three of these and this is the dish I would come back for. The pork carnitas was not as spicy as I had hoped, but had good flavor. The rice on the taco was a little dry so I wasn't blown away by it. I'd give it another try as I think I will enjoy the Korean slider and I'd be willing to try some other tacos. But I do hate the wait time for this truck. read more

New food truck in CLT...yeah! When I visited Tin Kitchen during the South End Food Truck Rally I was pleasantly surprised by the array of tasty taco options written on their menu board. Despite being super busy, the dudes behind the Tin Kitchen were quite friendly and happy to serve the masses! While I was jonesin' for the Thai shrimp tacos, unfortunately, because of their popularity, those little crustacean envelopes were sold out. No worries, though, there were a handful of other delightful looking options to try! For $16, hubs and I split the beef brisket tacos & the pork belly tacos (3 each) with kimchi and hoisin sauce. Of the two, I favored the brisket quite a bit more. It was tender, savory and perfectly paired with a crunchy slaw. I was also a fan of the green rice as a side; it was a nicely flavored accompaniment and not the least bit mushy. No one wants mushy rice! As for the other taco plate, the pork belly was nicely cooked, but the hoisin sauce was almost saccharin sweet and overpowered the pork and the kimchi. Overall, Tin Kitchen is off to a great start and I'm looking forward to catching them again soon! read more

Food trucks can impress with the food stuffs they produce & TIN Kitchen definitely joins those ranks. One day they happened to set up shop a couple blocks from where I was staying so I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find them. It was a must do. They have a very interesting menu, but my eyes were immediately drawn to the Korean BBQ Slider. As my little bundle of goodness was handed to me from the window, I could smell the kimchi. To my husband's chagrin, I don't always enjoy the smell of kimchi, but if you want to mix it in a slider (or a Philly Cheesesteak), I will eat it up. The slider was bursting with flavor and full of BBQ beef goodness. The right mix of flavor for all the taste buds to enjoy: sour, sweet, savory, salt. They were all there. Make your way to the kitchen and don't leave until you try their food. It's too good to miss! This is a food truck you'll want to try! The food was prepared quickly, so I didn't even have to wait long. Variety: Good variety for a food truck. Ranged between tacos, nachos, street corn, etc. They also sell canned soda and bottled water. Price: Way to go, your prices rock! Quality: I am so impressed! The taco and nachos that I had were SUPERB. Much better than ones that I've eaten elsewhere on many occasions. The taco was juicy, super filled, and had me wanting more. The nachos inherited a stroke of creative genius! What a winner! I had no idea how I would feel about goat cheese on nachos with pulled pork on top, but you know what? It's the best risk I've ever taken and the reward was a very, VERY happy tummy. Heck yea, dude. Highly recommend you ordering those, just for funsies. You gotta go try this place!
