I've encountered & eaten from this food truck twice - once at Armored Cow Brewing and again months later at Veronet Vineyards. These folks may not give you forks, but they know what they're doing! Service has always been friendly and helpful, despite how busy the line can get. The cubanos are amazing - I've gotten the original and also the BBQuban. The OG is super solid, but OMG that BBQ one is just delectable and a great texture. Trust me. Try it. They also have the best yucca fries I've probably ever had. My issue with most yucca fries is that the texture tends to be pretty tough, but these are so soft inside - like they mashed the yucca first and then formed the fries. I don't know what magic they use, but they're incredible, and you must get some. We also got a churro filled with dulce de leche, and it came out nice and hot with lots of cinnamon sugar coating. I didn't love the dulce de leche filling for some reason - maybe I got spoiled by spending time in Argentina - so next time I'll likely go for the regular churro. read more

We recently hired No Forks to cater a party at camp north end. We've always loved the food, specifically the empanadas and maduros. Their service blew our guests away! Not only was every order right, cooked fresh and hot, but they brought all orders into our space so our guests didn't have to wait outside for their order. The food was ready super quick. The beef empanada was amazing. It was probably the best empanada I've ever had! It was so juicy and had so much flavor. The Miami Cuban was very good as well. The chicken croquettes inside were nothing special, so I would probably get a regular Cuban sandwich next time. The pork inside was very flavorful and the bread was nice and crunchy. We came to Lost Worlds Brewing to try the beer and to try this food truck. I'm a fan of Cuban food and with the awesome reviews, didn't seem this would miss. And it didn't. The food was so good!! I was disappointed that the person in front of us literally ordered the last 2 chicken empanadas. However someone else said the beef were just as good, if not better, so beef it was. They didn't disappoint! The meat was super flavorful! I also had 1/2 Cuban sandwich, 1/2 pan con lechon. Wow. The cubano was easily my favorite and the one I finished at the brewery. I took most of my pork sandwich home and let me tell you - it was even better the next day! I was actually mad that I had a small portion because I'd ate some of it the night before! I'm not typically a huge fan of yuca fries, but with the aioli they served, those were amazing too! The food was really really good and the owners were very nice. It was a nice day and decided to try out this food truck, located Lost Worlds Brewery. This food is phenomenal and a great spot to get some Cuban food! They have a good variety of different sandwiches, small bites, as well as desserts. They are all great! This food truck travels around the Charlotte and surrounding areas and has a neat little set up. The combo team of staff is on point! The owner is cooking and making the meals and the other staff member is assisting with check-outs and delivering food to tables. It's a great operation! So I was not interested... until the over-power smell of cuban-style, croquette filled sandwiches filled my nose after a long hike and 3 glasses of wine at the Veronet Vineyard... I was sitting on the patio, overlooking the vineyard and minding my own business when that savory smell of cuban style meats and grilled bread filled my nose, over-powering the gentle grapes in my glass. Walking around the vineyard tasting room, to the parking lot revealed what was tempting me from 110 yards away! No Forks... No Forks indeed... dont need them, just grab with hands and shove in mouth! Sandwich select was limited towards the end of the day... a SELL OUT... which says alot... but they still had some classic items and most importantly CHURROS! The latest food truck to arrive in Charlotte, No Forks Given is cranking out tasty Cubanos, Empanadas, and Croquettes. After a few soft launches, they made their public premier tonight at Pilot Brewing. While it was a cold, rainy night, they seemed pretty busy behind the window. The simple menu and affordable prices means you'll be trying many different Cuban handhelds. The "truck" is actually a tiny trailer, but the vibrant exterior is sure to get your attention. It's actually a nice change to your average truck that takes up a ton of room in the average brewery parking lot. Their starting menu featured just four sandwiches and three empanadas. Of course you have the traditional Cuban Sandwich but also Pan Con Lechon which featured Mojito Seasoned Pork, Sauteed Onions, and a Garlic Aioli. Empanadas ranges from beef, chicken, and even a tuna option! Our party of six got a little bit of everything. Both the Cuban and the Pan Con Lechon was delicious. The Cuban had a crunchier exterior but the Pan Con Lechon won the flavor contest. The pork was full of dynamic spices and the garlic aioli brought a bright pungency that gave the profile a well rounded savoriness. The authentic Cuban recipe bread is sourced from Suarez Bakery right here in Charlotte as well. While both empanadas were very tasty, I've got to say that the chicken was the clear winner. If only for the texture, the bigger chunks of chicken had more wholesomeness versus the ground beef, I could order a half dozen of 'em! Both empanadas had a rich dough that was fried to a beautiful golden brown. Not sure what I was expecting with the chicken croquet but they weren't my favorite. While it had a crispy, golden-brown exterior, the inside was a little mushy. It had a good flavor by the texture reminded me of re-fried beans. I prefer a firmer texture in croquettes but to each their own, the rest of the offerings are slam dunk superstars. Other than a few things they'll figure out with more experience, they have a recipe for a ton of success in Charlotte. I talked to Alan and Pat, the Chef/Owners of the truck, and they are working with different breweries and venues to try and get some "regular" spots. I have been craving Cuban food and was not able to find many places in Charlotte, ao I am very happy to see this foodtruck has a lot of regular places they are parked at! I have eaten from here a handful of times and have always been impressed! My go to order is the chicken empanada which packs a lot of flavor and is very savory on it's own. Another favorite is the guava dessert empanadas, they are 3 small empanadas (or a single small empanada) filled with a guava mixture that will have you wanting more! The owners are super friendly and always find time to start a conversation or send positive greetings my way when waiting to order/get food (which is typically not that long to order/get food). To the best of my knowledge this past Saturday was the first official outing for No Forks Given. The cold grey skies, complete with pouring rain and wind, didn't exactly offer up the best conditions for a "grand opening" but these guys soldiered on and served up some delicious Cuban inspired cuisine all the same. The brightly colored trailer-style food truck is just big enough for the two business owners Pat and Allen to get inside, work their magic, and provide some wonderful dishes. If the name didn't give it away everything is meant to be eaten with your hands. Sandwiches and Empanadas are the main fair with the Croquettes being their only "side." The menu is very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality of food you get and among our little group of friends we tried almost everything. My wife got a Cubano but I personally sampled the Chicken Croquettes and one each of the Beef and Chicken Empanadas. The croquettes threw me for a loop at first. I apparently have little knowledge of Cuban cuisine because at first glance I thought I was given a small egg roll by mistake. Once I broke one open though and I could tell the filling was more in line with what I expected. A soft blend of meat and spices (and dough?) fried just crisp enough to hold shape. It was very good flavor wise, but I feel like it could have benefited from just a few more seconds in the fryer to improve texture. The Beef Empanada was filled with flavor. Ground beef, seasoned, wrapped in dough and fried crisp. I didn't ask for the specifics spices within but it was delicious whatever they may be. The dough had a nice richness and the beef had just a touch of heat. The Chicken Empanada had an identical exterior, but superior interior. Say that three times fast. The filling here was a bit more complex than its beefy brother. The shredded chicken gave it a better texture and somehow helped the seasoning really pop. It seemed to have a bit more heat, as well as onion and garlic flavor when compared to the beef. Really enjoyed my visit despite the weather and look forward to seeing them out and about here on the streets of Charlotte. read more

Been waiting for these kooks to get on the street and they did not let me down! It is so hard to find a good Cubano in Charlotte that I gave up looking. Most are just the ingredients of a Cubano without the expertise of a good pressed sandwich, allowing the cheese and condiments to seep into the white of the bread and mingling with the fillings, the bread now crispy on top and bottom with very little of the "breadlines" smooshed out. These guys know what they are doing! The Cubano was a textual delight. It was crispy and meaty and cheesy and pressed well during the cooking. We also got a Pan Con Lechon which was also delightful. The garlic aioli was a perfect spread for the flavorful sandwich stuffings. We also got the beef empanadas. I LOVED them. Crispy, well cooked exterior filled with flavorful ground beef and even some whole green olives to give it some pop. But even better, they come with a green sauce that just knocked my socks off. I would eat if off the floor. Indeed, to get it all out of the small holder, I used our car key and then sucked all the goodness off the key. I would buy that stuff in bulk. Overall a very good experience. They guys are new at the game and it showed a little. As they progress and do more events I know that this can become one of Charlottes best trucks. I have never tasted such amazing tasting food. This time around I sunk my teeth into a choripan, some chicken croquettes and a beef empanada. Each bite was better than the last. I ate here at Laurel Gray Vineyards and I'm originally from Tampa, FL (born and raised). I've had a million cuban sandwiches and there are about 2 restaurants I would say are the best.
