I came here for dinner with my brother. I was in the area earlier in the week since they have a Korean grocery store next to it. I ordered the seafood pancake (good sized portion, very light crisp which could be good/bad depending on how you like it, the accompanying sauce wasn't seasoned enough for me) and soft tofu stew with seafood (very heavy on the cucumber taste). We visited here this week for the first time in over 2 years. We mostly hadn't gone due to COVID and I'm so glad we made the visit. The food was phenomenal and very authentic. We've gotten Korean food maybe 2 or 3 times over the last 2 years and it was nothing like what we got at this place last night. My dolsot Bibimbop took me back to the times when I'd go into a small restaurant in Korea where I'd just yell my order to the server and I'd serve myself some kimchi from the table. The taste was exactly as I remembered it. We also had the seafood & green onion pancake and my husband had Kimchi chigae. All of it was solid and exactly as I remember it tasting from when I was in Korea. So if you want real authentic Korean that isn't either "Americanized" in some way or where the favors just aren't quite right, you seriously need to go here. I pride myself as an excellent investigator. But somehow Korean BBQ Plus! slipped under my radar all these years. I must have driven by this restaurant a couple hundred times. Out of those a couple hundred times, I must have told myself to try it a hundred times? Well, I finally came here for lunch last week. The restaurant was about half full when my friends and I walked in. We were seated quickly but had to wait a while before our order was taken. The lone waitress, who was working hard, was very apologetic when she got around to us, which made up for the wait. We got: an order of kalbi, haemul soondubu (seafood tofu stew), samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), and haemul pajeon (seafood pancake). First came the delicious banchan array (18 different types). Soon after, our order all came at the same time. My hearty seafood tofu stew with clams, mussels, squid, and small shrimps was very satisfying. The kalbi was a hit. Tasty, not overcooked, but most importantly not too greasy. I didn't try the samgyetang, but my female friend liked the taste of it. From what I saw, the rice-stuffed game hen swam in a broth that had ginseng and red dates. The whole meal came out to about $60 (T/T included). Not bad for all that food. They even brought us those small Yakult probiotic drinks after the meal. Nice way to end the meal. I had a good time here. I will definitely come back for more! The taste was really good for concord area! The bachans were yummy as well as the kimchi pancake. I was also surprised how good the kimchi jigae soup was as well. It tasted like they make their own bone broth for the soup. Although there was only one waitress she was very fast! I've ordered take out from this bbq spot a few times now and haven't been disappointed. Most recently I ordered Galbi, Bulgogi, and Japchae. All so flavorful! The galbi was a pretty small portion compared to the bulgogi. Galbi still had the bone in (which was delicious) and was just over a few pieces. These come with different sides of kimchi and rice. I really liked the 12 side dishes provided. Each one was very good and the kim chee and spicy Diakon radish were very hot. The bi bim naeng myun was also very spicy and quite good. The spicy pork was fairly good, but not the best I've had. The restaurant was very clean and the waiter had a great personality. He really went out of his way to make a connection with us and to convey how welcome we were in their restaurant. This means a lot to me since I'm Caucasian and have not always been made to feel welcome in Korean restaurants over the years, dispite the fact I absolutely love the food. We found the prices to be average to slightly costly ($20 for Beef Ribs, $17 for Spicy Pork, $10 for my Bi Bim Naeng Myon), but the lunch specials were reasonably priced so maybe next time I'll go for lunch. My criticisms have to do with the length of time it took for our food to arrive (over half an hour for any food to be put on the table), and the fact that several tables seated after us were served appetizers and even main dishes before we got anything. There didn't seem to be any intentional slight since the staff was so gracious and willing to fill up our side dishes without any hesitation when we asked. I would recommend this restaurant to others, although I feel it lacks the charm and perhaps higher standards of Korea House in Concord. read more

Came up to visit some friends and have the KBBQ at this location. It's a good vibe here, makes me young with it's dark atmos and K-Pop playing. When you ask them to make something spicy here, they actually make it spicy, but I am of the oriental in physical appearance so maybe they know I can handle the hotness. The prices here are a bit expensive but the service was very nice, I'm not from the area but I would come here again to try something else on their massive menu. read more

Wow, talk about side dishes! Koran BBQ Plus! serves the most side dishes, bar none! At one point, I asked our server if she made a mistake serving us some egg dish in a clay pot. She mentioned that it was part of the side dish. These alone are enough to constitute a meal, very awesome! Alas, we ordered Bibimbap, Bulgogi, and Samgyeopsal Gui. All three dishes were delicious. I just learned that adding 'Dolsot' to 'Bibimbap' gives you a dish served in a fiery sizzling bowl. (Which I prefer) Their Bibimbab taste good regardless. Their bulgogi? Yumm-o. Samgyeopsal Gui? I highly recommend this restaurant. It has a homey feel to it and the flavor was surprisingly authentic. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the taste. Besides that, the servers was super friendly and has a welcoming attitude. It was our first time. My parents and I got hungry while waiting for our dog's procedure to be done at Sage. I am a fan of Korean food, so I brought my friends along to try this place out with me. Walking into the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly by the hostess. It's definitely a much cleaner place, in the sense that the smell didn't have that Korean BBQ scent I usually know by; it was very well-ventilated. I definitely enjoyed that I didn't smell like I walked out of a BBQ place after our meal was finished. I tried their bibimbap, which was presented to me in a large bowl with a side of rice. The waitress also gave us the traditional Korean side dishes at the same time. I liked eating it because of the flavors it presented to me, and I think it's something anyone should try if they're doing Korean for the first time. I'd slowly ease into it with this dish first and then maybe with a side of bulgogi if you want some meat and some salt to go with the freshness of the vegetables in the bibimbap (which I did because bulgogi is a Korean staple to me anyways!). It was very filling, but left me comfortably full and not feeling super uncomfortable. I also liked that their table settings included metal chopsticks and not the wooden cheap kind that you can buy in bulk. Reason being is that at least I won't risk getting splinters when I'm eating hot food or soup. Overall, I would definitely come back here to try more of their dishes, especially since there was a lot of food on their menu that looked and were described very tasty! I didn't give this place a 5/5 because at one point, the waitress was rushing to serve us our food and spilled a bit of the spicy chicken's hot sauce (I forgot the name) on my friend's leg. She apologized, but didn't really do much afterwards. Additionally, one of my friends was vegetarian and although the waitress said she could add mushrooms to her dish, she failed to mention to additional charge that was added to the dish (I know it's a given at any restaurant, but quality customer service would mention the additional charge, especially if the waiter/waitress suggested the options). read more

What an awesome Korean restaurant! A++! I have been craving Korean BBQ for a long time and I found this place on Yelp. I came here with my sister last Thursday after work. It's tucked away in Concord not visible from the street but it's worth the trip! Great service! We ended up staying a long time to chat and they didn't rush us to leave or anything. Returned today because we were craving a hot soup on a cold rainy day. DH ordered the short rib soup, which came with clear noodles. It was a hearty but relatively healthy soup, and the broth had a pure flavor. Very good. I can't remember the name of the soup I ordered but it was listed under the "Noodles" section of the menu. It was a very generous portion of egg noodles with bits of beef, egg, and veggies. It's a spicy broth, but if you're used to spicy foods, I would call it medium spicy. I immediately found the broth too salty for my taste. Aside from the salt and spice, I didn't find it very flavorful. We also had the pan-fried mackerel. If you like mackerel as we do, this is simply but deliciously made. Although I didn't particularly enjoy the noodle soup I ordered this time, I would still rate this establishment 5 stars overall. read more

I can't believe I haven't written a review for my favorite Korean restaurant in the area. I've been coming here for almost 3 years since I moved to Concord from LA where I had the luxury of being close to Ktown. I also come here a lot because I keep craving Korean food ever since I visited South Korea. Let me start by saying that they have the best mul naengmyeon in the area. The cold noodles have the best "chewiness" among the ones I've tried around here. I wish there's more crushed ice in the broth, but it has very good flavor and I'm glad I can get good naengmyeon here (don't forget to add vinegar and mustard!). It goes so well with any grilled meat they offer like samgyupsal, galbi, or spicy pork bulgogi. They serve some traditional Korean food that you can find in other restaurants and some that you can only find here. The food is generally executed here very well compared to other restaurants in the area. Their kimchi jjigae has good kimchi flavor and warms you up on a cold day. Another favorite is the yukgaejang/spicy beef soup with noodles. The dumpling and rice cake soup is very simple but delicious. Their kimchi pancake is most of the times fluffy and crispy but we've also had it sometimes when it's not as crispy. Their stir fried gopchang (intestines) has good flavor, clean tasting, and cooked well. The army stew and gamjatang are perfect to share with 2 or more people. The banchan can be really good but sometimes the flavor is just ok. There's still a lot in their menu that I want to try. The service is great and I'll definitely keep coming back. read more

Pretty solid Korean food. I had the LA Galbi short ribs ($24) and they were delicious. Not too fatty, but also not too learn, great beefy flavor, and the marinade was tasty, with onions on the bottom to soak up the fantastic sauce. My normal go-to place for Korean food is Korea House. I still think the short ribs are better at Korea house, as you get more and they are cut a little thicker which I like, but its also a few dollars more. However, the banchan dishes here are excellent, some of the best I've had in the area. You get a ton of them, and they were for the most part all good (only exception were the beans which were undercooked and needed more flavor). Service was two women who were trying to do everything, they looked extremely busy so you had to wave them down for anything. read more

I absolutely love this place. My go-to is the La Gal Bi and an extra set of Banchan. It's kinda off the street towards the back of the little shopping center, so it's like a hidden treasure of deliciousness. There are many Korean places around this area, but this is my favorite. Placed an order of bulgogi to go today. The server wasn't unfriendly, but I could tell he didn't want to help out more than was minimally necessary. "We aren't doing lunch today, so it's dinner portions all day," he said to me right away. I appreciate that he was upfront about it. "How big are the dinner portions?" I asked. "They're a lot bigger than the lunch portions," he answered. Thanks. I never would have figured that one out. Opened up my bulgogi when I got home. Had to get out the food scissors and start trimming the fat off the slices of beef. Oh well, at least it was delicious and came with all the Korian appetizers like kim chee, sprouts, pickled vegetables, spicy potatoes, etc. The rice to meat ratio was low, but I'd rather have more beef than rice. We ordered another dish but our waitress forgot it. Good food, and we liked their team but OMG slow service. The two waitresses spent more time talking to each other than servicing their tables. Not sure how this place wasn't on my radar. I've been going to Korea House for years since moving this way. Came here on Labor Day. Called ahead to confirm they were open. Arrived around 4:45 PM. When we walked in there were two other tables seated. As soon as we sat down the party of 1 left. So we pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves. Unlike many Korean restaurants today their menu is quite extensive. It took the waitress a good amount of time before she decided to come take our order (-1/2 star for the seemingly inattentive customer service). The ban Chan--which took over 15 mins to arrive at our table was bountiful. Unfortunately they never came by to ask if we wanted anything replenished. We ordered the following: 1. Kalbi 2. Pork belly 3. Fried Mandoo 4. Yukejang soup Compared to Korea House their Kalbi portions were skimpy. (-1/2 star for kalbi portions)On the other hand their pork belly portions were generous! Much more in their portion than Go Goong in Dublin. The yukejang was quite flavorful- but unfortunately just not as flavorful as Go Goong. If they only had meulchi (Little fish) in their BSM Chan my kids would be quite satisfied at this korean bbq restaurant. Most likely I'll be back- just not sure when. read more

A little update to my previous reviews. Everything is still good except the chicken fried rice. I think they dramatically shrunk the portion of that thing? But it is still so good. Not sure how I feel about the value overall. A little pricey for the area. Japchae, BBQ chicken still superb. Tried a new soup (kimchi tofu) when I'm sick cures my cancer (jokes). Still would come back, but might not get the fried rice anymore because it happened twice in a row with the small portion. read more
