So good, as usual! My fiancé and I came in at around 12:30 on a weekday. It was pretty packed in the parking lot so we didn't think we would get a table, but we were immediately seated at the bar. We both ordered the sushi lunch special. I got mine with the sunshine roll, which was tasty! All the fish is so fresh and basically melts in your mouth. Not pictured is the delicious miso soup that comes out before your meal. A 10/10 sushi spot and definitely not one to be missed!

Loved this spot for lunch! Buta-kimchi was delicious- pork and kimchi combo can never go wrong. Also loved the gyu-don and the sushi lunch deal

The food was very good! I loved the lunch box (it's small for the price) and the ramen takundo was good too. The service and ambiance it's very good! It was a good surprise

What a great spot! Came here with some friends for dinner and there was no wait, which was great since it was 7:30 (prime dinner time), we got sat immediately! I started with a miso soup, and the kome fries, which were AMAZING i loved the honey wasabi aioli. Then came the nigiri and sushi, which was absolutely great- i got two salmon nigiris and 2 scallop nigiris which were all buttery and smooth, would 100% order again. Next i got the krab salad sushi which was just crab, avocado, and sesame seeds- simple, and refreshing. Everything came super quick, and the waitress was incredibly sweet. Loved every bit of the dinner! Would 100% recommend!

I love sushi and finally got to try Kome, which has been on my list for a while! They sadly don't take reservations so we waited for 30 minutes before we got a table. They do have a bench to wait inside but it quickly fills when there are like 5 parties ahead of you. I saw $$ on Google for Kome and I thought, shouldn't be too expensive. However, the portions are small so you end up paying a lot if you wanna be satisfied. The sushi tastes really good though! I would come back with a group to try more things We got: Nigiri set $20 Salmon box $20 Austin FC roll $18 Tempura zaru soba $14 Matcha parfait for dessert! $12 --This one was sooo good and unexpectedly huge. There is something like panna cotta on the bottom topped with matcha ice cream and mochi.

Ordered: Murasaki Moya cocktail (~$15) Nihon Sakari No. 13 (~$13) Brie Tempura (~$12): 5pc fried cheese & honey Yakitori (~$12): grilled tare chicken & onion skewers Vegetable Tempura (~$8): kabocha squash, onion, shishito peppers, carrot, fresh grated ginger and daikon Alone Together Roll (~$22): tuna, salmon, yellowtail, topped with bbq eel, go-go sauce, eel sauce, tempura crunch Austin FC Roll (~$18): krab salad, tuna, avocado, eel sauce topped with avocado & black tobiko Spooky Roll (~$15): spicy tuna, avocado, salmon on top, go-go sauce Texas Surf N Turf Roll (~$15): steak, shrimp tempura, avocado, spinach, candied jalapeño, cilantro, sesame seeds, tx green sauce, eel sauce Aya's take: Komé offers traditional Japanese comfort food among some other non-traditional provisions so you will surely find something you like here. I started with the Nihon Sakari No. 13 which is served in a beautiful square wooden masu cup (which I've never experienced before). They give enough sake to where it overflows into the masu cup. It was dry, light, and delicate in flavor with hints of floral taste. As far as the appetizers, the only one worth getting is the Vegetable Tempura. It was fried to perfection and I absolutely loved the tempura shishito peppers. I could've had a whole plate of just those! All the sushi rolls were satisfying and loaded with ingredients and flavors. My favorite were the Alone Together Roll & Austin FC Roll. All in all, we enjoyed our last dinner in Austin!

The well priced sushi spot offers a mid menu with fresh tasty sushi at a reasonable price. They are also very attentive to food allergies and the servers know the menu well. The problem I have is that whenever someone walks in the staff all shout welcome in in Japanese and it's really annoying and loud which destroys what would other be a really chill spot. It's also ridiculously dark in there too

Such a good spot for a nice lunch or dinner! While airport is a busy street, the location is convenient to drive to if you're already on airport. Try to have your whole party present, otherwise they may hold your spot but not seat you. Despite being packed, service was really quick. The menu has a lot of stuff, but in general it's a good mix of standard rolls with some innovative combos and specials mixed in. The price I thought is pretty reasonable, although my rolls were pretty small. I would go to meet friends for a casual hang, it's a bit loud in there at peak times.

Checked in with Jonathan--super friendly. The QR waitlist didn't work, but we were added manually and seated in about 10-15 minutes on a busy Saturday night. My meal (miso soup, veggie tempura, and bean curd nigiri) was okay, not memorable. My friend, who's a regular, enjoyed her sushi and matcha ice cream. The service was very attentive--too much so. We were interrupted constantly, which made it hard to enjoy the meal or talk. The seating was cramped. Chairs are fixed due to the tight layout, and my chair was pressed up against the person behind me. A server even knocked my chopsticks off my plate because of how close the tables were. They don't accept cash, even for tips, which was surprising. Friendly staff and quick service, but between the tight space and over-attentive service, I wouldn't dine in again--maybe just do takeout. My friend loves this place, so could have caught it on an off night.

Came for lunch and it was a great deal! Lunch was a good time to go because they don't take reservations and there's always a long wait at dinner. We got sat almost immediately and had great service. The bento lunch had a lot more food for only a couple dollars more ($24) but the sushi lunch was plenty of food ($22). The nigiri was fresh but could have been better with some toppings to spruce up the flavor. The rolls were the best part! We got the negi-hama and dynamite rolls, and would highly recommend either of them. The karage was also really juicy.

Saturday lunch time again around 2:45 pm. It is rainy day again, so Kitsune udon is such a craving. Came to pick up something near by then decided to have a quick lunch here. Wasn't planned but good to have some unplanned event sometimes to refresh. Service is decent, except sometimes it's not consistent depends on what server you would be facing that day. I can't eat salmon and shrimp but sushi lunch looked really good deal today. It comes with assorted Sushi listings of tuna, albacore, some other white fishes, salmon, and shrimp, miso soup and choice of roll. The server said he can't substitute (which I had past time they did ask chef and they said ok to replace them with white fishes), since everything is assorted aligning the pricing, which I never heard about it from any other sushi places I've been to with this kind of lunch sushi combinations. Well, it could be a Kome's thing so I wouldn't mind it too bad but I did cancel the order and just proceed with other menu. Instead Sushi lunch, I ordered 5 pork belly sushi, which is my top favorite menu from here. Hope they are consistent with what they can offer for a customer. Due to my past experience that it did got replaceable with other option, I did get confused today while ordering and took time for me to decide. Other than that, it was nice and cozy quick lunch.

midnight sun

Ambiance: My friend and I went for dinner around 7:20 PM without a reservation, so there was a short 10-15 minute wait. The lighting in there is dim, warm, and soft, so it makes for a nice dinner atmosphere. We were able to get a table in the corner which was nice (there is also bar seating as an option). Food: We ordered the okonomiyaki, spooky roll, and midnight sun roll. The okonomiyaki looks pretty busy presentation-wise, but I really enjoyed the taste and texture of it. It had a slight crispiness to it, and the sauce complemented the cabbage well -- not too subtle, not too overwhelming. I actually enjoyed the spooky roll more than the midnight sun as I felt that it had more flavor to it. Even though I love tempura, I felt the midnight sun didn't have much as much kick or uniqueness to it to validate its price point or place on the special side of the menu. The spooky roll felt a bit more refreshing and was a bit cheaper than the midnight sun roll. Service: Our waiter was friendly, and the food came super quickly. Water comes in a nice bottle at the table with cups, so that part is self-service. Overall, I think the flavors of the food make this restaurant worth trying, but it was on the pricier side for me.

Takowasa is not chewable, maki was good, karage was a bit dry. Overall okay place. Environment is chill. Good for family and friends. Service was nice. Will try more stuff next time.

The intimate, speakeasy setting is such a vibe! Hidden behind a bookcase tucked away in Holey Moley, Chef Saine and his small team bring you an incredible 14-course experience with top-tier ingredients sourced directly from local farmers in Japan. With only 6 seats per session, this is a cozy experience and one I definitely could not recommend more. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, located in East Austin, there is plenty of street parking. - Reservations can be tricky to land, but you can grab weeknight ones if you're flexible. - Pricing is about $170/person, with the option to add on drinks and extra bites (3 extra for $45/person). Tax and tip not included. My favorite bites were the maguro blue fin (an incredible start to the night!), the buttery Kanpachi amberjack, and the Wagyu ribeye with salted egg yolk (steak and eggs). Everything is stellar, and the Belgium chocolate ice cream finish with a little serenading from Chef is a great way to wrap up the experience. Service is top notch!

Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. It was a dreary Friday afternoon but you could not tll that from the folks sitting at the bar enjoying their lives in Uchiko. There are awesome lunch specials and a lunchtime happy hour. There is nothing quite like being on vacation, ordering amazing sushi, and pairing it with a delicious wine that costs $5 with one of your girlfriends - like truly, that is the good life. Our bartender hooked us up with a surprise order of 4 different nigiri - all were awesome. He even sent us a savory mushroom skewer and a complimentary dessert.
