We ordered the following appetizers: pepper shooters, fried calamari and the pork belly. Salads come with every meal and a nice small charcuterie board is complimentary. My steak came out exactly as I ordered it and was tender, well seasoned and hot when I received it. The chicken was very tasty and always also served hot. I really can't say enough about he server. She was a young darker haired girl with a great personality and very confident when she read us the specials. She even made a few suggestions, all of which were very good. The atmosphere is really nice and bother owners came to our table at the end of the evening. The owners were very cordial and talked to use for a short period of time. I wish the owners the very best of luck but I don't think they'll need it as this is a very well run restaurant. The pricing was very reasonable and overall, an excellent choice for a nice dinner.

Let's start with the obvious: this is supposedly a chop house. So how do you mess up the steak? I ordered medium and it came out rare, poorly cut, and completely flavorless. No crust, no seasoning, no care. It's impressive, honestly you have to actively try to make a steak this sad in a restaurant that literally has "chop house" in the name. Not worth the price for sure. The menu reads like someone threw darts at a culinary map. Sicilian kimchi? Why? The carpaccio had all the excitement of wet paper. The Caesar salad was wilted and bland. The onions and mushrooms were somehow both greasy and watery at the same time, an impressive feat of culinary confusion. The veal pasta was so aggressively lemony it tasted like someone dropped a bottle of Pledge into the pan. Then there was the whitefish special with chips that felt like a bizarre, half-hearted attempt to acknowledge the Jewish holiday. As a Jew, if that was the intention, it came across more like a punchline than a tribute. Presentation across the board looked rushed and sloppy. The real question is: who is the chef and what exactly are they doing back there? Because if your entire concept is a chop house and the steak is the worst part of the meal, something has gone very wrong. Gresham Chop House has great service, which is honestly the only reason this experience wasn't a complete disaster. But the kitchen needs a serious identity check, and maybe a salt shaker.

I was asked to give it another try in May and was very surprised at the excellent service, the delicious food, and the ambiance. Chef Louis came out and talked to us about the his concept of the restaurant moving forward, and thanked us for stopping in. So this weekend I tried it again, and was surprised that nothing had changed in the past month. Gret servers, and Chef Louis' food knocked it out of the park. We went, no reservation, and were seated right away. Being it was 4:30 in the afternoon it wasn't busy at all. The service was great, the timing of our food coming out was great, and our dinner was cooked to perfection. My husband had the filet mignon, I had the sea bass special. No choice of sides, you get what you get and most likely will get upset.... I've had better food sold out of the trunk of peoples cars and the audacity of the owners to call this "fine dining". Dollar general sells a better quality steak than this... Claimed they took 20% off the bill cause we didn't like the food but when we did the math, they took 20% off my steak and not the total bill. I dont understand how this place has such good reviews... What an absolute disgrace and disappointment. Do better... The interior decoration is one of a kind and a must see. It has a museum vibe to it, with many historical pictures, toys, collectible items, Art, and sculptures. I am going to guess that if all the decorative items were going to be sold, there's probably and estimated 1 Million value to all those items, just a guess. There is an area with souvenirs of The Office on sale and many items on display. As The Office was filmed in Scranton and it is one of the mayor attractions of the town, and part of it's cultural history. Scranton is full of history and this restaurant is part of it. One could spend hours looking at the incredible shadowboxes, model trains, war memorabilia, movie displays, model ships, etc, not to mention the Dunder Mifflin gift shop! The food, however, is another story. The menu is large and varied and has some delicious appetizers (particularly the Bang Bang Srimp and the Crab Balls--addictive) and entrees too, but the very pricey stars of the menu leave much to be desired. The "Just Seafood" entree looks mouthwatering by description and costs forty effing dollars, but I'm being completely honest when I tell you everything on that plate was drier than a popcorn fart. The dish comes with shrimp, scallops, and lump crab meat. The best thing on the plate was the THREE scallops they provided. The crab was genuinely the worst, driest crab I've ever had. Worse than low-quality frozen snow crab at Red Lobster or the grocery store. The shrimp was overcooked and pathetically seasoned with a light sprinkle of paprika (which fell mostly on one shrimp and none of the others). I had to salt my own food at the table because everything was flavorless. All in all, if you're in Scranton because you like The Office, stop here and have some CHEAP starters and drinks, grab some cool Dunder Mifflin merchandise at the gift shop, and enjoy all the awesome art they have at Coopers. Pay no mind to their expensive seafood, it sucks. Service: the waitstaff are lovely, friendly and attentive. They're great and deserve praise!
