I have not been to overboards in several year, because of a few very rough visits. I visited in MAy and again this past weekend and the experience is was wonderful both times. I was asked to give it another try in May and was very surprised at the excellent service, the delicious food, and the ambiance. Chef Louis came out and talked to us about the his concept of the restaurant moving forward, and thanked us for stopping in. So this weekend I tried it again, and was surprised that nothing had changed in the past month. Gret servers, and Chef Louis' food knocked it out of the park. Delicious and left me wanting to come back and try another of his special creations. read more

Caught up with siblings and spouses at Overboards near my brother's cabin in Poconos. So many options and lots of seafood apps and mains as well as steaks and Italian classics. The most reasonable prices I have seen on a menu in months! Our server Lisa was a dynamo and a very nice young man took our drink order. Oysters from Virginia were good. Salmon on hash browns app was large. I thought my husband's flank steak was best main. Scallops were fresh but the Thai mango sauce was a bit too sweet. Others enjoyed chicken and seafood stew. Old pine boards made a cozy setting. All six of us enjoyed. read more

Just went back with family visiting, and again everything was fantastic. Our server was great, helpful and very attentive and kind. The food was excellent. I forgot to take a picture of the calamari appetizer but it was delicious. Tasted so fresh we felt like we were at a beach town. You really can't go wrong choosing Overboards. read more

Had another delicious dinner at Overboards. Have never had a bad meal there in the half dozen or so times we have eaten here. We made reservations and got there a few minutes early and were seated promptly. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Drinks were tasty and strong. Complimentary bread was warm and fresh. I had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly. My wife had the chicken, and shrimp, florentine which she also enjoyed and wound up taking half home because it was plentiful. We were too full for dessert but I took a nice piece of lemon meringue pie home to eat later :) read more

Terrible I'm so disappointed!!! Last time we went it was delicious. This time the fried mozzarella is smothered in prefabbed sauce and mush. I'm not quite sure what the salad dressing is. My steak was supposed to be burnt. It's hardly cooked. Terrible just terrible. I can't believe the diffence. Honestly nasty ! read more

New to area New Year's Eve we decided we would try Overboards what a great decision that was!! The food was outstanding! I had scallops and my husband had the rib eye steak both dishes we cooked to perfection and oh so good! Our waitress was very good even though they we super busy, she checked on us frequently. It started out with the host putting my party into the back of the second room like we were bothering her. Considering nobody was in the restaurant on either side. As for the food. Went to dinner for my mom's 86th birthday and couldn't be happier with choosing overboard. Everything was fresh and the waiter was great with my 6 year old niece. The restaurant is very small and they have a bar on other side of room. Highly recommend going for dinner pretty sure u need reservations they don't take walk ins read more

Long lost friends got together tonight at Overboards. Reservations for 6pm. Seated immediately, hostess brought menus. Our server, Emma, we prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I highly recommend this establishment for everyone to enjoy. The food was fabulous. read more

Overboards is still my favorite restaurant in the Greentown area of Lake Wallenpaupack. Despite new ownership since Fall 2023, the food and service is still tops due to the fact that chef Lou is still running the kitchen. Seafood is the featured offering, but there are also good steak, pork and chicken options as well. Scallops are the best in the area. The restaurant has now added Mondays, and is now open Thursday through Mondays. Service is great, ask for Brenda as your server. DO make a reservation during busy times, which means now through summer, as the place can be filled, although Monday evenings are usually quiet. read more

We had calamari for appetizer. It was delicious! My husband had the pork chops. They were so flavor full and moist. My crab cakes were the best I ever had. Ended with coffee and tiramisu . Perfect meal, great service. We highly recommend Overboards. read more

Went for dinner last night with my brother and his wife. He goes here a lot and mentioned it was a new owner, then last year. The meal was excellent, and service from Brenda was terrific. Appetizer special of portobello mushroom with shrimp and chorizo delicious. Pork osso bucco was done perfectly and very tender and tasty. Everyone else loved their dinner, veal and shrimp marsala (special), two had shrimp overboard, all delicious... the plates were empty! I look forward to going back! read more

The food was decent. The entree we both had were Large Scallops in a sweet Thai sauce with rice pilaf and sautéed broccoli. Very good but needed at least one more scallop per plate. Our appetizer was Fried Calamari with a Marinara sauce; good but overcooked. Service was slow but pleasant. It's ok but not a destination eatery. read more

Another excellent dinner. I adore the consistency of this restaurant. Time after time, after time it pleases and few places in the area can brag of such. The tropical scallops were a masterpiece. Do order a double of the coconut shrimp and enjoy the stuffed mushrooms. An excellent meal for a price that is more than fair for the quality. Yeah, the fifth star for the consistency. The food was incredible! Hands down, the best lobster I have ever had. It was so tender that I didn't even need to dip into the butter once. The fillet mignon was also done very well. Third time here in 4 weeks. Lucky me. I cam this time with my husband and daughter, both who have food allergies. Staff was very knowledgeable and also checked on a few things just in case. My daughter had the smoked salmon on potatoe pancakes and I had the onion soup. My daughter said the salmon was great and no reaction from her gluten allergy. Thet were not sure if they were GF. My soup was a cheesey full bowl. Our entrees were once again great. My husband ordered the stock menu chicken saltimbocca minus the butter for his lactose allergy. They said it might be oily but he said it was delicious. My daughter had the perfect cooked filet. I had the Salmon Wellingtin. It was perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. The Demi-morphs guarded the gate like vainglorious Cerberus, but all to no avail, for i had my trusty yo-yo on my person. The Demi-Morphs are an ignorant and barbaric people, unknowing of the mysteries of the yo-yo, and thus my obstacle shrunk in deference of what they perceived as divinity, my divinity!!! I am god to these people so long as the yo continues to yo; a Plutonian monument to omniscience and all that breaks the Monad's spirt. Great service. I always enjoy having the owner Chris coming over and welcoming us to the restaurant. The gumbo and french onion soup were delicious. The pinwheel flank steak special was outstanding. Nice place to eat. Seafood fishes have been very good. Hostess could be friendlier. Ambiance is just ok.

Very good food with good service. Had the Tuna martini for my appetizer. Raw tuna on a bed of seaweed salad with avocado pieces and topped with wasabi cream sauce served in a martini glass. Very good appetizer. Main course was baked trout with garlic and olive oil. Another ver good selection. Only issue is that that the restaurant hasn't been updated in 25 years. A group of us came here while visiting the lake. We got there a little late and got sat around 8. They were out of several of the menu items and our waitress wasn't the best. Excellent food and service! Started with the French onion soup. It was super beefy and probably the best one I've ever had. Had the Overboards Cioppino for dinner. Shrimp, clams, muscles, lobster and salmon in a light aromatic broth over rice. Holy molly it was delicious! My fiancé had the chicken saltimbocca and it was tender and flavorful. The Marsala sauce was filled with large checks of fresh mushrooms and he devoured it. Our 12 yo nephew had the petite filet which was cooked perfectly and seasoned. Hands down one of the best meals I've had on Lake Wally. If you haven't been yet, you need to go. read more

this was the worst dining experience ever. The food was horrible. The pork osso bucco was over cooked, dry, salty and the sauce was pasty and clumpy. The mediterranean seafood dish had clams as hard as rocks and a sauce the was inedible. There wasn't enough parmigiana cheese in the world to mask the poorly prepared dish and quality of fish. The calamari was rubbery, over cooked and salty. The sauce for the calamari was cold. Overall, if I could give less that a one star I would. read more

I came here with my mother a few months ago and we had an "okay" experience. The seafood pasta dish was incredibly oily and had no flavor, but a little bit of salt and pepper perked it up. They had pretty awesome French onion soup, I'll give them that. Their clam chowder is actually Manhattan style though, but their menu doesn't specify. It's also incredibly salty. My mom and I weren't that impressed but gave it another go a few days ago. It got worse, I'm sorry to say. Coconut prawns were $9, and while they were delicious, it only came with three shrimp. Three. For NINE dollars. And they were small, but butterflied to appear bigger. Rip off. We also each got the scallop and linguine dinner. It was $21 apiece - and we each only got 6 scallops. Come on. The scallops had no flavor and were slightly rubbery, plus the sauce was just pure oil, a few sparse chunks of raw garlic, and a ton of what tasted like white pepper. Lots of heat and no taste. I realize seafood is expensive, but $21 for 6 crap scallops (they weren't big) and a messy, greasy pile of linguine is barely worth half that. No wonder they were empty when we went there. The only reasons I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 are because the bread they serve is actually super good, the wait staff is incredibly attentive and nice, and the coconut prawns - while again, overpriced - were really tasty. Too bad everything else was a mess. I want this place to succeed because it's local and nice people work there, but I won't be back anytime soon unless they improve. read more

5stars n I'd give it 10 if u could. We found it on yelp on the way back from hiking the Catskills, Seafood is what we wanted n we got it. Easy to get to right on 507 lots of parking. GET A RESERVATION! The place is very cozy inside. Super friendly old school atmosphere going on. Melissa our waitress was awesome n attentive. Everything is made daily n fresh. Even the salad dressings. The soups are delicious. The fresh made bread n cinnamon butter (wow). Stuffed shrimp with crab dinner for mrs. and Crab cakes for me. Absolutely killer. Unexpected disappointment We chose this restaurant based off a high rating and reviews through yelp. However, neglected to pay attention to how old the reviews were. You'll think I made this series of unfortunate food mishaps up, but I assure you I didn't. We were the first guests seated when they opened at 4pm on a Sunday. 2 kids and 2 adults. We were first caught off guard by the pricey menu. We chose to order 2 bowls of clam chowder, coconut prawns appetizer, mozzarella appetizer, kids linguine with million dollar meatball, and kids chicken strips. You'll see pictures of the menu with our review. The kids menu was interesting (hard to decipher). It's cute that the owner allowed his child to write them out. BUT the food options were all ran together so it took a few times of reading it to determine the different options. One thing we didn't take a picture of was the front of the regular food menu. The fancy folders were previously from another place of business and Overboard placed a printed sticker over the top of the precious logo. A bit tacky. But whatever. While waiting on food we were served a mini loaf of bread with butter. It was good. The kids ate their apple sauce (came as their side, but before their meal). When our clam chowder came out we were surprised to see it was a Manhattan Clam Chowder (tomato base, not white cream). This was not stated on the menu and we neglected to ask, our bad. The chowder looked like a vegetable soup. Went to take one bite and it was cold, like out of the fridge cold. The waitress apologized and took it away. The prawns come out and they are a deep, dark, fried brown (clearly over cooked). Tried them anyways. The sauce they're served with the prawns was delicious. I think the shrimp would have been great if it hadn't been fried into a rubber state. A second mini loaf of bread was offered while we waited for food. It still tasted good but this one had a cold spot in the very middle of each slice. As if the bread were warmed from frozen. The Mozzarella appetizer had great flavor. The disappointment here is that it was served barley warm. The cheese was not melted at all. The linguine with million dollar meatball was an epic fail. The large meatball was cold in the center. The red sauce tasted like it was a Vodka sauce or fermented (neither of which should be on a child's plate!) The kids chicken was served with one of the pieces clearly cut in half. We assume this was to check to make sure the chicken was done. It was in fact done. Like the shrimp, it was so done it was rubberized. The taste? Horrid. We did not allow our child to eat it. The kids did however share the french fries. Luckily for us the waitress was able to get the meal comped, since we didn't really eat it anyways. I will add that there was another couple eating at the same time as us. They noted that the restaurant was usually very good and they've been going there over the last 5 years. Maybe this was a fluke?! Not sure. It was so bad that we will not be giving it another try. read more

We were here for just the weekend and decided to have dinner here. What a perfect choice. Drinks were delicious! My husband had the Ciopino, which was fabulous..chock full of perfectly cooked seafood. I had the pan seared red snapper, one of the day's specials, which was so very tasty.. But to add to our wonderful experience was the service we received! We were the last to arrive but we're not rushed and we were treated so kindly. Top notch experience! read more
