What amazing food. Hot and flavorful! We went there on a recommendation of our son's friend and we were blown away by how good the food was. A great verity from wild boar to halibut. I had the seafood linguine with lobster sauce and was impressed on the verity and quantity of seafood in the dish. It has salmon, calamari, cod, shrimp and scallops. The lobster sauce was fantastic. My son had the fish and chips. There was two huge portions and hand cut chips. It said it was served hot and flaky. My wife had the grilled halibut. Again, she said it was well cooked, flaky and hot. I am so excited to write a review about this unexpected gem in Lords Valley, PA which my wife and I enjoyed unexpectedly yesterday. Food: I ended up getting the Hunter Valley Burger and my wife got the Tuna Melt Panini. To speak specifically about my meal, it is one of the five best burgers I have had period. The combination of flavors just made it a joy every bite and I never felt like one bite was better than another. The fries were perfectly cut shoestring fries. We ended up getting dessert, apple streusel, which was also outstanding with some strawberries complimenting the flavor Aesthetic: clean, simple set up with ~12 tables and dessert container on the right side of the room. Hunter Valley restaurant was a pleasant visit. It has good visibility, along Route 739, and there's plenty of parking within the strip mall. As soon as we entered, we were met by the owners. They were so helpful and accommodating with our many questions regarding their many items. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and has plenty of seating. I don't usually give kudos to regular coffee, but this one was commendable and the refills were appreciated. Every single entree was enjoyed, the portions were large, and all of the ingredients were fresh. We enjoyed the Spanish Omelet, the Hunter Valley Burger, the Cast Iron Roasted California Quail, and the Falafel Panini. For dessert, we enjoyed the Crepe Chocolate Cake. Every layer of this cake was rich, the perfect amount of firmness, and the presentation was nice. Ok so I'll start by saying some of the dishes are a bit pricey but they are all excellent . I had the wild boar schnitzel and I think it was a great deal only $25 and it was a huge portion and absolutely delicious ! Loved the wild rice pilaf and side of mushroom sauce . Restrauant snob finds gem in the Pocconos, a simple and humble atmosphere with no distractions outside their delicious food so bring your own wine, beer or booze they do not serve alcohol. I love too cook and I do not dine out often when I am here in the Pocconos. But now I have a reason not to always cook while here. See you guys soon. read more

I was en route south to Tennessee and hungry. Went on Yelp and saw good things about this place. Another plus for travelers is that it is not too far from the highway exit. The menu is original and varied...if I had had more time, I might have had a bigger meal, but I was very happy with the tuna melt and grilled veggies!! I hope to return some day! read more

My 11 friends and I arrived without a reservation for lunch. The owner was very welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing. We had mostly dumplings with many unique flavors. The best thing I can say is the waitress was sweet and attentive. The appetizers, clam chowder and salad, were OK... The entrees were both Awful...the pastrami wrap was made with what seemed like fake meat...the boar schnitzel was a bore....tasteless and the "wild" rice was colored yellow rice with a couple of grains (literally) of dark (wild?) rice in it...$65 dollars later we are going home hungry. read more

We were looking forward to eating at a new restaurant, especially one with such a varied and interesting menu. However, I can't say it met our expectations. I have never written a review before but felt they needed feedback. The food was not worth the prices they charge. Now maybe it's because I was brought up with fine dining, but I'm more relaxed now and this still was not great. For such high end prices it never occurred to us that they didn't have a bar. This place is BYOB, which would have been fine if we had known, but we didn't. That being said, the grilled salmon, mixed vegetables and desert pavlova were the best things we ordered. If all the meals were like this I would have given more stars. The grilled shrimp was decent. The side salads were different and that was interesting but they were served with the meal instead of before the entrees (didn't even know we'd get them as it's not listed on the menu and the waitress didn't say anything until we asked about salads - usually you are asked for choice of dressing but we had to ask about that too). I'll start with the kids meals - too much food for little ones at too high a price. But the french fries were good. Appetizer - The calamari, a favorite of my family, seemed like it was phony fish or something as the pieces were all completely uniform (and very wide) which I have never seen before. It wasn't hot enough and the coating was not that crispy. Taste was ok. I love baked potato and we order the New Trend Potato. It was awful. Couldn't taste the arugula in it and the turkey bacon seems like ham not bacon (yuck). If I had known, I would have asked for just a baked potato. The service was also not good - we were 6 but not only didn't the food come out all at once, but the wild rice (which my chef daughter said had no taste) wasn't even brought until we asked for it and then it took a few minutes to get (ie: way after the main course was served). We had ordered an extra side salad and the never came so we had to cancel it. Our potato was not brought out with the food and we had to ask for that too. No one ever came back to ask how our meals were or if we wanted something else to drink. The table was not cleared before we were told that she'd bring the check - then we had to ask for a desert menu! We sat with a dirty table for quite awhile and when they did clear off the plates, they didn't take away used butter cups, large crumbs and more on the table - again, for the prices they charge I expect much better service. So, maybe it would have been good to go for breakfast or even a light lunch, but we would never eat there again for dinner - not worth the price. read more

Sometimes you stumble on a place that doesn't seem elegant or "Instagramable" but the food is just out of this world. Actually out of this country because the owner is Russian and he can cook like nobody's business. My wife and I started out with the homemade fried pelmeni (chicken) and were pleasantly surprised. I had ordered the Traditional Newfoundland Moose Stroganoff and my wife ordered the Wild Boar Bavarian Schnitzel from their "From the Hunter's Bag" part of the menu. Who knew you can get these exotic meats in the middle of nowhere. We were amazed and highly impressed for sure. The meat was tender and each plate had enough food for leftovers. But we ate everything!! And as if that wasn't enough, we had to share a slice of their in-house vanilla crepe cake. Amazing. The food was so good we asked for a menu just so we can go back again. We had a great experience at Hunter Valley. The menu is sophisticated and unique but still has all the basics. The crepes with smoked salmon and caviar were beautifully prepared and absolutely huge (and super delicious). The burger was juicy and delicious, too. There is sort of no ambience, it's like an upscale diner vibe but with all this unbelievable food. Super sweet staff, welcoming and warm. We are looking forward to going back! We had the salmon tartare- so much flavor, Greek salad- perfectly dressed and authentic, the spring rolls - so different and with surprisingly good flavor and no dip needed, the green borscht - delish, and the skirt steak - loved it. Stopped by during roadtrip along Route 84, wanting to make a change from our usual stop in Milford, about 10 min further along 84. We didn't want to deal with the usual crowds, tight parking and likely wait time for Saturday lunch at our usual places. Just WOW! I'm so glad we took a chance here, given that the reviews were so good, and the added plus- was ez on and off the highway. The menu was great - LOTS of selection and BREAKFAST ALL DAY!!! We had Greek omelette (well done as requested) that came with a side salad tossed in vinaigrette (so fresh!) and crepe with fresh fruit, and Unsweetened IT, clearly fresh brewed. It was all perfect, and I'm not usually one to throw good reviews around unless it's really fantastic. This was. We ate outside, which allowed our pooch to hang table side. Service was great. Check was $30 plus tip, which was a great value and much less than a possibly lesser meal would be in Milford I think. Note: to look at it you might raise an eyebrow, sorta hole in the wall looking BUT DONT LET THAT FOOL YOU! Never been but def will go back, and it's now our "go to" on route 84.
