I told her about the reservations and that I was surprised that her business treated customers in such a poor manner. Her response was "if you don't like it leave." Obviously, we left I am not sure if the person who stated they were, the manager actually was in charge. I am extremely disheartened at the way our party was treated.

I was asked to give it another try in May and was very surprised at the excellent service, the delicious food, and the ambiance. Chef Louis came out and talked to us about the his concept of the restaurant moving forward, and thanked us for stopping in. So this weekend I tried it again, and was surprised that nothing had changed in the past month. Gret servers, and Chef Louis' food knocked it out of the park. Delicious and left me wanting to come back and try another of his special creations.

Live music in the evenings (solo guitars) creates a relaxing atmosphere. Service is always outstanding, with knowledgeable and friendly servers. For diners not staying on property it can be time consuming and expensive, but this is meant to be a high end guest experience, not a local casual restaurant. We love it here.

We went, no reservation, and were seated right away. Being it was 4:30 in the afternoon it wasn't busy at all. The service was great, the timing of our food coming out was great, and our dinner was cooked to perfection. My husband had the filet mignon, I had the sea bass special. He also had the chicken noodle soup, and I had the crab cakes. Everything was delicious! The restaurant itself is very cozy and inviting. We will definitely go back again in the future!

No choice of sides, you get what you get and most likely will get upset.... I've had better food sold out of the trunk of peoples cars and the audacity of the owners to call this "fine dining". Dollar general sells a better quality steak than this... Claimed they took 20% off the bill cause we didn't like the food but when we did the math, they took 20% off my steak and not the total bill. I dont understand how this place has such good reviews... What an absolute disgrace and disappointment. Do better... BYOB is also not allowed as it apparently takes a different license that they don't have. Anyway, I definitely recommend Balch's, particularly if you have a group.

Crab cake was flat as a pancake, awful, mushy, bready, greasy, no crab taste at all. Only flavor was red pepper. I left 3/4 of it. So $29.85 for lunch for 1 person before gratuity. Really expected a very good crab cake at a "fish" restaurant. Sorry, I really try and support small businesses, but cannot recommend Balch's.
