Had an absolutely fabulous dinner at The Ridge Restaurant last night! Started with the creamy Potato Leek Soup - perfectly seasoned and so comforting. Then dove into the Sunday Sauce special... wow, just like Nonna's - tender meatballs, sausage, beef & pork and that rich, slow-cooked gravy over penne pasta. Both dishes were delicious and beautifully prepared! Shoutout to our amazing server Alana and assistant Ebony - you two were attentive, friendly, and made the evening even better. Bonus points for being the first place that's ever thoughtfully packaged our leftovers into a go-box for us right at the table. What a nice touch! 05/31/26 My wife wanted to celebrate her birthday at the Ridge Restaurant with immediate family. We were very impressed with our 1st. time dining experience. The menue has an impressive selection of Appetizers, Entrees & Deserts Our waiters Anthony and Austin were on their game and made my wife's 75th Birthday extra special. Everything was Excellent! We went there for the first time and experienced the Early Bird Menu. Food was plentiful and excellently presented. Delicious Italian bread and flatbread crackers with roasted garlic and oil. House salad was lightly dressed and served in chilled bowls. Each entree was enough for two, maybe three. All sauces and gravies on food were delicious. Mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables-zucchini and tomatoes were really good. Oh, forgot to mention the appetizers- calamari was also good and portion was good; Hot Antipasto was delicious as well- clams, mussels, shrimps, stuffed artichokes and eggplant rollatini ! Coffee and mini cannoli's to finish off. We had to wrap up most of the food to enjoy tomorrow. Service was super. Riley was a great server. Her support staff were good too. It was a bit noisey in the back room but not a big problem. Music was nice.to listen to while eating. I would have liked if the Manager stopped by the table so I could have complimented him/ her. The portions are very generous along side an included salad & bread with roasted garlic dipping sauce so be careful if you don't have a place for leftovers. We started with an appetizer of crab & lobster stuffed mushroom caps and could have stopped there. Of course we continued with veal parmigiana & veal franchise. So much food, & so delicious. The next time you find yourself in Hawley, PA, stop in for dinner at The Ridge. It is a must do for a meal for sure. The service is top notch, especially when you are seated in Alana's section. Definitely come hungry as the portions are healthy. We loved the veal parm and stuffed shells, also the shrimp asparagus and pasta! Leave room for dessert, all great options. This restaurant is consistently GREAT! Food quality is outstanding, portions are large and the wait staff is very attentive, even when the restaurant is very busy. There are daily dinner, drink and sometimes dessert specials. There is on street 'metered' parking all around the downtown area. The meatball appetizer is fantastic. We like the pasta & chicken dishes the best, although; I have had the steak & veal chop and chicken scarpiello specials, which were all OMG delicious. The only criticism that we might have is the price. This is definitely a 4 $$$$ establishment. But keep in mind; good food is not always cheap and cheap food is not always good. We dine here at least once a month. Please give it a try, I doubt that you & your guests will be disappointed. read more

If you're going to charge $48 for a steak dinner, it should be cooked the way it is ordered. My husband ordered the prime ribeye, and it came out splattering grease everywhere to the point he had to hold up a napkin so he wasn't burned. Then, when he went to cut it, it was burnt to the plate. The waitress did not seem to care that he couldn't get it off the plate. The little bit he was able to eat, was so over cooked (he ordered it medium) that he didn't enjoy any of it. He left half the steak on his plate. The ambiance was nice, and my GF pasta was good, but the steak ruined the experience for both of us. Will not recommend or be back. read more

The caesar salad was perfection , best I've had in a long time . warm bread w/ a dish of warm oil infused garlic to start .. veal francese was light and tender . I went here for a work dinner and I was very surprised. The atmosphere was more on the fancy side. I got the Mozzarella Milanese, Penne alla vodka with a chicken cutlet on the side and the house salad. The waiter that took care of us was very nice and attentive. We went this evening for the first time. We have heard so many good things, and we were not disappointed!! The ambiance was beautiful/cozy, our waitress Brianna was amazing and went over and beyond to make our dinner great! Her service was A+, she even surprised us with a happy anniversary cannoli. The portions are huge and you will more than likely have lunch the next day, but who would complain about that! We are so happy to have discovered this local gem ourselves! Decided to try the Ridge. We were not disappointed. The service was on point. Our server was Dani, who had notable experience of 4 years there. The food was served in a timely fashion and was enjoyed by all. The overall ambiance of the location made you feel that you transported back to the early 1900's but enjoyed the modern day era. We had the Penni alla vodka, veal parmigiana, & calamari for dinner followed by the lemon cello marscapone along with the chocolate trilogy. A must try if you get the chance. Key observations: 1) Reservations in advance are a must 2) While not advertised as "family style" the portions are large...really large. All four of us took home leftovers 3) Take your time and enjoy, like a classic Italian family meal that runs for hours First time in, and managed to get reservations for 7:45 on a Sunday (called at 4pm). We arrived about 7:20 and the place was packed upon arrival, but the four of us grabbed two bar seats from diners who got seated. We spent the next 1/2 hour enjoying some cocktails and a nice bottle of 2013 Masi Amarone ($85 - a good value). Wine list offered a range of good choices, just would prefer vintages to be printed on the list...my only nitpick We were lucky enough to get a server we all knew from another 5 star venue! Was good to see Jordan and catch up! He did a great job. The menu is chock full of tasty choices, and there are a number of specials. In a unique twist (we liked this), the server sits down at your table and walks you through the details. Warm bread is delivered to your table with a plate of olive oil, parmesan and red pepper flakes for dipping. The table has a bottle of EVOO and a bowl of grated cheese as well. Thankfully (as we knew not of the portion size) we only ordered one appetizer (calamari) to share. We each ordered an entree - steak topped with crab, monkfish & shrimp over pasta with capers & cherry tomatoes, and two Sunday Gravy. Check out the pics of these platters - yes platters, not plates. Roughly half leftover for each of us. Food was terrific, service great throughout (water filled, wine poured, etc). Dessert was not a possibility given our diminished capacity! The Ridge, Located in the Hotel Belvidere Building, is in my opinion, the most evenly--paced, organized, great-tasting food, and superb staff in all of an NEPA. EXCEPTIONAL on all accounts and the entrée portions are huge and prices are ridiculously low. As Covid wanes, the owners did not Keystone their prices like many of the other restaurants I've come in contact recently. Dress code is very casual, as to the area of Lake Wallenpaupack, which is possibly the largest man-made lake in the USA. My friend and I were extremely impressed. We had a Burrata salad with home-grown tomatoes and prosciutto. We also opted for Linguine Mare Mondo a huge portion of pasta, shrimp, mushrooms, spinach in Pinot Grigio all bathed in a tomato Brodetto (a fish stew in tomato sauce). You will wait for your meal cuz everything is made to order. Don't eat here if you have to go to a show after dinner unless you allow ample time. Reservations are strongly recommended. To begin,we will return. It was a sunday evening and it was busy. I began with an app. If clams oreganato. Good portion and most delicious. We both had Old fashion cocktails which were very good. My entree was linguini LA fontana and my husband ordered a sunday special of seafood pescatorre. Bread basket was served with a roasted garlic olive oil. The portions of food were massive. I can eat left overs for two days my husband had leftovers as well. They have their "famous"Sangria. It is very good. As for the service, it was good but as I sat watching the other servers I felt we didn't get the attention others did. We were a party of 2. No room for desert, maybe next time.
