Hi Adventurers! This place is such an amazing venue for weddings! We do several events through out the year for this location and each time I am alway in awe of the beauty in which they set the place up. The entire staff is alway so helpful and courteous! I recommend this place for the ambiance of an old barn with bulb lights throughout the building and soft candlelight glow on the beams above you (battery operated). It has a big enough space for a dance floor, a bar on a different floor so everyone isn't smooshed, and the best part is it creates such an intimate feel amongst your guests who are attending. They have a valet parking option which is great since the venue lot is a little small. The scenic drive on the way to this location is also worth the hour drive from Central Jersey. read more

The charm of this place begins and ends with its physical structure. The service, food and experience fell sharply off a cliff. We were booked for our wedding, which included a room to stay in the night before the event. About a month prior we were told that they mistakenly double booked the room and another couple would be in it. We had to find a lousy hotel ten minutes away. At least half a dozen of our guests coming from across the country were also supposed to stay on the premises and were bumped due to double booking. When we arrived at the venue on the day of the wedding, the entire place, inside and out, was still riddled with dirty cups, decor and mess from the party the night before. We had to pick up the garbage from the grass in the service area in the heat of summer ourselves. The ashtrays were filled with butts and ash and nothing about the venue was ready or set for our event, including the tractor that was to be set up for photos. Only one worker was in the place until about two hours before our guests were due to arrive. To make things worse, we prepared for our big day in the heat of September--no A/C was put on until an hour before the ceremony. The entire bridal party was dying of heat and covered in sweat. You can't trust anything the owner tells you about the place. The bachelor suite had a pool table in it when we viewed the space and had been removed prior to our date. Worst of all, the food was inedible. Guests returned their plates for being too salty to consume. Others complained of undercooked side dishes or not being accommodated when asked for condiments, like butter. When approached about this after the affair, we received rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful responses. A simple apology or just acknowledgement of what went wrong would have left a better taste in our mouth, but unfortunately it has come to this--a bitter review to warn others as our last resort. read more

Very dissapointed with how I was treated over a simple phone call. Asked in reference in setting up an appointment in viewing Jacks Barn and the girl would not even assist Me unless I was sure if the prices. I am not one to waste time and was very serious and making this venue the destination for my fiancée and Mine wedding. Attended a wedding there last weekend . Can I say loved loved loved . Everything was perfect . The decor was stunning . Funky lit candles through the dining area . Rustic different sized chairs . My daughter held her wedding at Jack's Barn this year. We had found it on the internet, looked carefully at the website, read reviews, checked the Facebook page, made an appointment to visit and fell in love with the concept of a barn wedding. Everything about it was really perfect -- Darren, the owner and his daughter Demi, the manager have a list of preferred vendors to work with which made the whole experience of planning your own wedding from beginning to end much easier. We knew we were working with people who had been successful there before and could be trusted to do a good job. Even though it was an hour and a half from our house, much of it was accomplished in a few visits and over the phone. The site is really spectacular, the gardens beautiful, and everything about the day ran totally smooth. You can dress it up or down, make the wedding as formal or as informal as you want, borrow lots of items or rent them very economically. One thing I loved is that it has lots of spaces for people to talk and at the same time a great dance floor and space for a band -- how many times have you been to a wedding where the music is so loud that you honestly can't hear anything that anyone says to you? I honestly can't say enough good things about Jack's Barn. Weddings can obviously be a nightmare and a money pit if you let them, but with a little thought and a venue like this the important day becomes a real joy. read more

Building and grounds are beautiful. The owner is a nightmare to try to work with. He also is willing to break contract with you and steal from you. Leading up to our wedding day at Jack's Barn, the GM was wonderful to work with. Demi was accommodating, knowledgeable, and responded quickly. I wish that was the end of my experience and this review. But sadly, it is not. The day of our wedding (11/19) there were issues that my husband and I overlooked, because nothing can be as perfectly envisioned for such an important event. However, in hindsight, not having the layout ready or decor available even after agreed upon previously is frustrating. Additionally, walking their dogs on the property to relieve themselves in sight of guests was unnecessary. And finally, rushing us out the doors even though the contract stipulates we have an hour to clean up and vacate the premises was awful. We left items behind unintentionally due to this and also could not say goodbye properly to guests. However, all of that could have been forgiven if the owner, Darren, had not broken contract and unfairly withheld a quarter of our damage deposit even though, and Darren agrees, we did not break our end of the contract or damage the premises. Darren told us he was holding our money for himself because of presumed disrespect. Apparently, signs that were on printed computer paper stating "no smoking" were removed, according to Darren. He stated that he found the sign, not on the wall of the groomsmen suite, but rather on the table inside the suite the next day. He said we intentionally took the sign down from the wall, which is disrespectful and so he withheld our money. We even asked him if it's at all plausible that a sign fell down and someone placed it on the table instead of leaving it on the ground, but he said that's impossible. He then added that the sign was removed in the bridal suite, which it was not. I was in there all day and no one moved any signage or decor. My husband and I apologized for any perceived disrespect. We assured him that no damage was done, that we did not see anyone move the signs and we did not move them either, and that there was no cigar or cigarette smoking inside. Darren agreed with us, over the phone and in writing, that we did not break the contract and that no one smoked indoors or caused damage. He stated that he is the owner of this business and can run it as he sees fit. And so, he felt disrespected because a sign was moved, and so he decided to not give us our full damage deposit back. If you don't care about losing items, being rushed out of the venue even though you were working under the idea that you had clean up and packing time, and not receiving your full refund back of the deposit than book this venue. read more

What a GREAT venue!! We had our wedding there in November and it couldn't have been more perfect! The Barn had the perfect, romantic, rustic feel that we were looking for. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and out! We luckily booked our wedding there within 6 months but it was literally the ONLY date they had available and we worked around that date for our wedding so we could have it here. They are booked solid and for good reason! Demi and Darren were wonderful from start to finish. They were so professional, went over everything, set up our meeting times up well in advance so we were prepared for payments, ideas, last minute questions, everything! They have a ton of items that you can use for the day (at no cost) to get your ideas down without having to trek stuff from your car and bring them home. The have everything from table runners to card mailboxes to things to use for your seating chart! The day of the event went off without 1 hitch! They helped us during the day and clean up after to help us just get organized. I can't say enough about Jack's except to have your event there! You will not be sorry! ...and use David's Country Inn as your caterer because they were also AMAZING! read more

From a vendor point of view, I had the pleasure of working at Jacks Barn this weekend and it was a great experience. Darren and Demi were very friendly and helpful over the telephone prior to the event/wedding. Upon arriving to set up the flowers and design the alter area, I was greeted by Darren with a warm welcome and organized details for the days event. They were accommodating and helpful in helping me set up which was amazing. The decor and overall feel of this location is nostalgic and lovely. Very clean and beautifully kept grounds and interior. You really get a great look and feel of the old style barn but with a touch of today's Pinterest favorites. The wedding and cocktail hour areas are super cool and from what I know they offer a wide variety of rentals as well which seemed awesome. I truly enjoyed everything about this venue. Highly recommend it and hope to work there again one day in the future. read more

The building on Route 31 that holds both Jack's Barn and 122 Main Antiques was closed for many years... then a few years ago, new owners opened Jack's Barn as an antique store, with an event space, called The Loft at Jack's Barn, upstairs. They've been renovating the building since then, and recently brought in another dealer, 122 Main Antiques, to share the space. The merchandise and direction of the antique store has changed drastically since they re-opened the space. At one point, it was mainly interior decorating supplies, with very few antiques. But they are definitely an antique store at the time I am writing this (Feb.14,2016). Today the Jack's Barn side had furniture, sets of china dinnerware, linens, jewelry, some ceramic items, 78 and 45 rpm vinyl records, and some (new) ribbon that they are selling off, I assume from when they were selling mainly interior decorating supplies and fabrics. There was nothing that particularly struck me (though I lingered over three blue-glazed Westinghouse pieces made by Hall China), but that doesn't mean that there won't be anything there that interests you. The 122 Main Antiques side had a wider variety: old cameras, clocks, ceramics, globes of the world, bookends, snow shoes, wooden boxes, small sculptures, a tramp art lamp made with popsicle sticks, clocks (both cuckoo and novelty), packages and advertising. They also had a sign saying that they buy vintage audio equipment. Again, there was nothing that really grabbed me (though that tramp art popsicle lamp was pretty cool), but that doesn't mean that there won't be anything that fits into your collection(s). If you are in the Oxford, NJ, area, it's worth stopping, though I'm not sure I would make a special trip. read more

We booked the Loft at Jack's Barn almost 18 months before our wedding. When we walked into the venue, we were blown away, but what sealed the deal, was the owner, Darren. Once we met him and saw his passion for the Loft, we knew we had found our venue. Darren and Demi helped us along the way with timely emails (sometimes very late at night), phone calls, and meetings. The Loft had many upgrades from the time we booked until our wedding day! The folks at The Loft will make any "Type A" bride feel calm! We had the best experience with hosting an event at Jack's Barn. Darren and Chris are both wonderful to deal with and so helpful with all our needs. They go above and beyond to make our event so great. The party we had had amazing reviews from all our guests, the photos taken there are unbelievable and we will cherish the wonderful memory forever. We loved having everything under one roof and being able to personalize our party exactly how we wanted to. The bar inside the barn is so rustic and beautiful and the lighting and tables are exactly what we wanted. We even were able to rent a wonderful red pick up truck for photos that made the event over the top, and everything was done through the barn. The "one stop shopping" made our lives so much easier and we loved it. We would strongly recommend having any type of event there. The grounds are beautiful both inside and out and it's well worth the price!!! Loved it, makes us want to get married all over again just to do it there :) read more

My husband and I were married at Jack's Barn on November 19th, the final day of the wedding season. We had looked at a few other venues, but when we walked into the loft, we knew we found our place. Darren, the owner, was super attentive from day 1, answering any questions or concerns at the drop of a hat. We attended the open house last February which gave us many ideas on vendors, transportation, etc on the day of. We were away at the 30 day mark prior to the wedding, and Darren and Demi were quick to work with us to make sure our timeline was perfect. When we had a potential issue with a vendor, Darren was quick to hop on the phone with me and discuss/help the situation be resolved. On the day of the wedding, Darren actually offered to pick us up at the salon to avoid added costs for us. The wedding day was more perfect than I could ever have expected. Everything ran smoothly with no issues. The venue turned out beautiful with our DIY touches. Everyone that attended the wedding could not stop talking about how great a venue it was, and what a great time they had. We had Frungillo as our caterer, and the compliments on the food are still coming! There are comments in other reviews about Darren's attentiveness, and I can say, without a doubt, that it was the best thing we could have had for our wedding. My husband and I are a bit over-organized (okay, we are both type-A!), and anything we needed, he was there - going above and beyond our expectations. We cannot say enough great things about Jack's Barn. I would recommend the venue in a heartbeat. Looking back, and remembering some of the more negative reviews that we read, they all brought up having to do everything themselves - you just have realize going in that this is not a wedding hall. This is the type of venue where it is what you make it. We had a vision, and after putting all the details together, it did not disappoint! My mom and I drove to Jack's Barn to check it out as a potential venue to host my wedding. However, upon pulling into the extremely tiny, unpaved driveway off an very busy road, there were two people (blonde girl and an older man) who were standing right there whom were both instantly rude with complete arrogance. Right off the bat we were not impressed and knew I wasn't going to host my wedding here. The one thing about being in the hospitality and event business is the way you talk and approach strangers at any moment - hands down terrible manners.
