Harker's appears on GolfNow on a daily basis which depending on how you look at it, could be a good thing or a bad thing. Thursday 1pm tee-time for 18 with a cart for $22 and change? Yep! First the good. The course for the most part is actually in pretty good shape. Fairways are green and lush. Nice differentiated cut between the fairway and the rough and the greens are what you would expect. What's a little iffy? If you're not in the fairway or fairly close to it, a lot of holes have rock hard exposed dirt patches around/under/close to some of the trees that are impossible to hit off of (unless you want to break a shaft or fracture your wrist) or your ball will roll forever into the next fairway, etc. What's bad? Zero and I mean zero on pace of play enforcement. After 3 hours we got through a grand total of......11 holes. Multiple groups of 4+ people meandering and not giving a crap about anything but their own nonsense. We eventually went back to the beginning and played 1-4 and 8-9 before the cart had to get turned in. So....11 holes in 3 hours and then 6 more in an hour. Yeah, it was that painfully-disgustingly slow. Overall, sure, some of the cart paths ride and look like the government uses this place as bomb range from time to time and you will lose balls here without question with some of the hazards like the creek, trees and aforementioned brownout spots but.....if you can find them on GolfNow, the price is definitely right and you could do much worse at other area courses. (Sidebar, the hours that Yelp has listed I assume are for the onsite restaurant as the golf courses is open daily.)

It sorta reminded me of a ski lodge, they had a fireplace, a comfy bar with seating for about 10-15, about 10-20 tables, all with wooden chairs with handles, and tons of windows with beautiful views of the golf course. The menu appealed to everyone as they have a page of bar specials, such as bar pizza, buffalo chicken, chicken tenders, etc. on one page and on the other page is a seasonal selection of meats, pastas, and seafood. I came in the fall and tried their tortelloni (homemade pasta) stuffed with butternut squash stuffing served with pine nuts in a creamy buttery sauce with pieces of fresh butternut squash, it was one of the best dishes I have ever had, OMG! So amazing, I just had to write about it. Highly recommended. It also came with a small tasty side salad. The waitress was super attentive and kept asking if we needed anything and the food came out in a timely manner. I did not order any desert, but the deserts did look very tasty and I was told they're all homemade. I did have an espresso to go for the ride home. Sadly, the country club is over an hour from me and I'm not a golfer, so I doubt I'll be back anytime soon, but I would definitely recommend it for a wedding, it's elegant, graceful, and grandiose, the food was very delightful, and the management was super nice.

There was chicken, beef and salmon, and the pieces were, maybe 2oz. each - maybe 2 bites. The woman in line in front of me asked for just salmon as she did not eat meat. She was told no - she had to wait until every one was served and she could get more if there was any left. (I didn't think quick enough to offer her mine.) They told me the same thing for the steamed veggies. Unlimited salad, rolls and mashed potatoes, though. The cocktail hour had wonderful butlered options. But the crudités were sitting out on tables, in 90+ degree heat, with no ice or chilling. (The cheese pieces were slimy) I really wanted to like this place, but I would hesitate to return, especially in the summer. Maybe the bulk of the issues were the results the wedding party's requests?
