Cozy spot! Stayed here during my trip to Shawnee Mountain…read more Stroudsmoor Inn had a lot of great amenities including a full fitness center with enough machines for a full body workout. Most people usually don't like to work out on vacations so hotels try to get away with putting 3 dumbbells and an elliptical in a room and claiming they offer a "gym" on their facilities. This place was much better than usual! I got a great workout in before the festivities There is also a nice indoor pool with a hot tub that my kids took full advantage of. They had a lot of fun with all the other kids at the hotel. Room was nice and spacious and there was a private balcony that led to the back of the cabin with a nice view of the woods. Only reason we didn't hit that 5 star was because of the weird layout. The rooms were at a different location from all the amenities so after we were done swimming, we kinda had to wrap up and walk in the freezing cold to the other area to reach our room. The bathroom was also kinda small Other than that, it was a great stay! The staff was super friendly and we were very comfortable.

Don't be fooled by the beautiful property!!! As soon as you enter your room you are transported…read moreinto a bygone era of mismatched furniture that looks and smells like it hasn't been cleaned in 200 years. The carpets are damp and stained as well adding to your fear of not wanting any of your belongings to touch anything. Thankful our room had extra blankets so we could cover everything before sitting down. At midnight, woke up sick from the dust and mold and contemplated spending the rest of the night sleeping in the car. Cannot get out of here fast enough!!! Disgusting and the owners should be ashamed of themselves for not taking the same pride on what is presented behind closed doors as the take in the outside grounds.

Don't even think twice, book this hotel! Easy walking distance to the heart of town for a beer,…read morewine, or a meal or shopping! The Hampton Inn meets all expectations and exceeds many! Not a single complaint about the quality of the room, the quality of the hotel. Very comfortable beds! It's almost too good to be true how close this hotel is to the downtown area. I'm really really glad I booked this hotel instead of other hotels nearby. This hotel, you can literally walk out the door and go a block and a half and your restaurants are right there in either direction. I wanna make it extremely clear how nice though the hotel was. All of your modern enemies, and all in top form! Absolutely perfectly comfortable beds and pillows. An outstanding air conditioner or heater that worked remarkably well in the room to control your climate to exactly how you wanted it. Super clean with all the bathroom and other amenities. No need to Uber. I want to really point out that this town has multiple breweries and wineries and restaurants. If drinking is part of your agenda wow you won't have anything to worry about you'll be able to walk a block or two, have your drinks and walk back to your room! There's also wonderful restaurants here as well. Finally, it's not a crazy loud town. It's very quiet just a lot of mature fun! Super highly recommended if you're staying in the Delaware water gap area! Very close to the Delaware water gap for you to explore also!

I'm told this is one of the nicer hotels in the area especially at this price point, and that seems…read moreto check out. I thought it was quite lovely overall. I was visiting family in the area. It was my first time staying at a hotel vs staying with family, and I'd definitely consider this option again. The hotel is located right downtown, within walking distance of main streets. Staff was very pleasant at check in. My room was quite spacious and very clean. There was a couch and desk, big bathroom. They have a fitness room, but the equipment is old and some of it wasn't functioning well. They put out a good breakfast spread with actual hot food and plenty of choices. The only real off thing about my whole stay was that the morning I stayed they had omelettes that contained tiny pieces of sausage and it wasn't labeled as containing meat - which as a vegetarian I wasn't thrilled about. When I brought this up to a staff member they were a little dismissive. Beyond that one interaction though, everything here was quite nice and I'd be happy to stay here again. Actually, I'm quite excited that I have such a nice option and am going to make this a go-to whenever I need a hotel in the area. :)

It's amazing they can hide their yelp reviews and still charge $146 a night! This place was bad…read more Sad. And very scary. But the front desk people were very pleasant. We started to drive home 2 hrs from the Lake & decided to try & find accommodation for less than $200/night in Stroudsburg PA area. Wow!Impossible! But then wandered upon this place that uses photos of the huge inn out front that's been closed for years to trick guests into booking & staying in sub par rooms in old metal modular strips out back. Once probably a grand resort, now this is a broken down musty old motel with bad plumbing, crunchy sheets, and a tv that wouldn't turn on. The desk clerk told us there had been a recent fire so the swimming pool was out of order! We called the repair guy to our room after we checked in at 8:30 pm because we couldn't get the bath tub water to turn on. David, the feisty old handy man, came & barked at me that he has worked here 28 years and of course the knob works. He had to yank and twist and wrestle the knobby in just the right way for water to flow and slammed it hard to shut it off. I tried to mimick him & was terrified I wouldn't be able to shut off the water so gave up. Later, when his wife (?) came back to replace the broken tv. I asked her to show me her trick to turn the water on... and she did (a lot more back n forth wiggle force) but I decided not to use the tub/shower out of fear. The beds have a sheet and a cheap coverlet but no blanket. The mini fridge wasn't plugged in so may not have worked. The A/C had one setting: HIGH! Freezing us. I booked through booking.com but the web page didn't take my money. I had to pay at the desk. Then David called my cell at 11 pm to wake me up and ask if I booked a room & was I coming?!? "You just met me in room 46 where the plumbing wasn't working!" It's the kinda place my mum & I would have stayed for $49.99 in 1990 while traveling across rural PA visiting colleges (in places where we couldnt pitch our tent in a $35 camp site)! Crummy and cozy, semi-clean and a bit stale. But better than sleeping in our car.

This is such a nice area and @ one time (1950s) this was probably a nice property. The toilet in the lobby is visible to all though fading tinted glass. There is NOT a working pool, please see pictures of their outdoor pool. The spa area has very limited hours. I wanted to take a picture in the lobby, but did not feel safe. As much as I tried to like this place I need to warn others. DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY ON HOTWIRE. I have been to all 50 states traveling and was returning from my seventh trip to Europe and never seen a property this bad. I noticed on another travel review site that a family with a special needs child claimed that they were treated unfairly. I still have a teaching license and if those allegations are true there are agencies that could investigate.
