I'm really really glad I booked this hotel instead of other hotels nearby. This hotel, you can literally walk out the door and go a block and a half and your restaurants are right there in either direction. I wanna make it extremely clear how nice though the hotel was. All of your modern enemies, and all in top form! Absolutely perfectly comfortable beds and pillows. An outstanding air conditioner or heater that worked remarkably well in the room to control your climate to exactly how you wanted it. Super clean with all the bathroom and other amenities. No need to Uber. I want to really point out that this town has multiple breweries and wineries and restaurants. If drinking is part of your agenda wow you won't have anything to worry about you'll be able to walk a block or two, have your drinks and walk back to your room! There's also wonderful restaurants here as well. Finally, it's not a crazy loud town. It's very quiet just a lot of mature fun! I'm told this is one of the nicer hotels in the area especially at this price point, and that seems to check out. I thought it was quite lovely overall. I was visiting family in the area. It was my first time staying at a hotel vs staying with family, and I'd definitely consider this option again. The hotel is located right downtown, within walking distance of main streets. Staff was very pleasant at check in. My room was quite spacious and very clean. There was a couch and desk, big bathroom. They have a fitness room, but the equipment is old and some of it wasn't functioning well. They put out a good breakfast spread with actual hot food and plenty of choices. The only real off thing about my whole stay was that the morning I stayed they had omelettes that contained tiny pieces of sausage and it wasn't labeled as containing meat - which as a vegetarian I wasn't thrilled about. When I brought this up to a staff member they were a little dismissive. Beyond that one interaction though, everything here was quite nice and I'd be happy to stay here again. Actually, I'm quite excited that I have such a nice option and am going to make this a go-to whenever I need a hotel in the area. :) read more

Beware this location. I'm not sure what I did, but the front desk attendant was absent most of the time during our stay, tried to pick a fight with me (kept asked "You goood?" and not making eye contact) when she took 5 minutes to clean a table before checking me in with my wife, and ended up putting us into a really smelly (chlorine and musk?) room. The room itself had a greasy, dirty texture on the floor that stuck to our feet after showering, requiring us to wash off our feet before putting shoes on. And finally, I found out later that the front desk attendant charged us a pet fee even though we had no pet with us and never even asked about animals. We had to request a refund after the fact, and since customer service didn't believe us we had to wait for them to call the hotel to confirm we did not bring an animal before getting refunded. Would recommend the Penn Stroud if you are in the area instead of Hampton Inn Stroudsburg/Poconos if you want clean rooms and a pleasant stay. read more

Our room was a disaster. The heating unit was not functional, making it cold for us. The drain for the tub never went down so we had to shower in a filled tub. We told maintenance which took them almost 12 hours to get to us. He put Drano down the tub and that never worked. The telephone had no connection. And the heating unit he said "it is what it is". This is a tired Hampton Inn in need of renovation. The hallway smells like Marijuana. A portion of the hotel is smoking and the smell gives it away. Wallpaper peeling in the hallway, carpet dirty. One of the window shades in the room covered with bugs and dirt when I pulled on it. The breakfast was surly. The person in charge of keeping things supplied was complaining the people were taking all the bananas!! (Among other things). I can say without a doubt this is the worst Hampton I've ever stayed at. The carpets both in the hallways and my room were filthy and obviously in need of a good vacuuming and shampooing, yet reeked of a sickly-sweet smell of deodorizer. In the bathroom, there were only 2 tiny washcloths and 2 towels (no place to hang them to let them dry before the every-other-day housekeeping), and the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were both bone-dry. No coffee cups or drinking glasses were to be found. The worst part was the constant noise: our room was on a lower floor, and we could hear every footstep coming both from the room above us and the hallway on the floor above us. Any conversations in neighboring bathrooms came loud and clear through the air vents into our bathroom, and conversations in the hallways were also loud and clear. Even worse, all night long an intermittent but regular noise could be heard coming from the walls. I first thought it was plumbing, but even at 3:30 AM when everyone was asleep the noise was still regular, which leads me to think it was an HVAC problem. The noise was loud enough to prevent a deep, sound sleep. In short, the place was noisy for the entire 24 hours we were there (we had a 2-night reservation, but fled after the first night). I will never return to this hotel again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either. And oh by the way, this hotel is not cheap! ALL OLD PHOTOS ON HERE! :( Okay, so I was pretty nervous when I got a recommendation to this hotel from my wedding venue, because this pictures do not do this place justice. I was actually VERY nervous. I read that they remodeled, but I hadn't seen any photos. Well, thankfully it turned out much better than I thought. We had many of friends/family staying here for our wedding. The parking lot is a decent size, and thankfully they have an overhang that you can park underneath and not get rained on like we did. This hotel is also two blocks away from the main street in town, so no need to take your car and pay for parking. When you walk in, you can easily tell this place is MUCH more modern than the photos. It's actually very nice. On the right you have many seating and the left is where snacks and the desk is. (if you need pamphlets of the area, you'll find that in the laundry room). Past the seating on the right is a hallway with the indoor pool and gym, and straight through the lobby is where the breakfast is. I have to say, the breakfast was pretty awesome. They have a large amount of seating, and even a TV in there. We also rented out the meeting room which was about 55.00 per hour. Our room was VERY modern and the bathroom was beautiful and bright. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. I don't have much to complain about. The couch turns into a sofa bed, also. They have shampoo/conditioner with a company called "ZERO%" which I actually LOVED, that is attached to the wall, and they give you a bar of soap. If you're visiting East Stroudsburg, I 100% recommend you stay here. The people were friendly as well, and one of our guests brought their dog. Every time I stay at a Hampton Inn, I realize why it's my favorite: they have the most comfortable pillows out of any hotel chain!! They also have the best free breakfast, with eggs and actual potatoes, more than just the standard continental breakfast. This location gets 5 stars because Henry at the front desk had amazing customer service and another young lady behind the desk whose name I didn't get made a restaurant recommendation to Sarah Street Grill, which I now recommend, too, for dinner/drinks within walking distance from the hotel! (Goombas Pizza on Main St also has a killer slice!) This Hampton Inn has a small pool, fitness center, and lots of parking! This place was awful. We checked in and the lobby looks nice. We get to our room the bathroom sink faucet moves, not bolted down, the shower is so concave I almost fell. Felt like I should have had a skateboard dropping into a half pipe. Could not change the temperatures the room. The floors were sticky I dared not to wear shoes. No carpet which was awkward. Well, to begin with upon arriving, the receptionist was pretty good so we thought that we're not gonna have any bad experience because the receptionist was so nice. Her name is Amina and this is why I'm giving it 3 star not a 2 star. But however, when my niece and I got into our room we saw a device on top of the dresser which I have never seen in any other resort no hotel that have ever stayed in price of this one, but we were in we sat down and as we were in the room, that was a strong smell of bleach, and that device some type of machine that was on the dresser was I don't know what it was doing there, but we felt thought that there's something wrong with this room so after being there for 45 minutes and starting to get sick, our eyes and throat were burning. We then went downstairs to the front desk and explain the situation which should've never happened to us if they had went back to do a final inspection to make sure that everything is OK before any guest arrives in their room, but not leaving any device at all in the room and make sure that there's no bleach sent in the room so I then showed him a picture of that device that was left in the room, and the gentleman that I spoke to in the front desk was a bit shocked and told us that this should've never been left in the room and that he will definitely have to change our room because of what we also had told him regarding the room has a strong smell of bleach to the point where it was really cutting my oxygen cause I have asthma and that's when I noticed that I had to request for another room, but he did. He gave me another room he gave me another bigger room but we couldn't stay in the room because we had to try to get some fresh air so we've stayed out for a minute and we came back later on that evening. However, all this could've been prevented if they went back and double check to see if everything is in order and Nothing was left behind, but I guess that wasn't the case then; But thank God, we're OK because sitting there for 45 minutes and feeling like my oxygen was being cut off wasn't a really pretty nice feeling with my eyes also burning me now no way I wasn't really filling it and that's why I'm not giving it a 4 star cause it's all the little things also that we didn't like but it's alright though however what really matter to us was our room that I had a strong smell of bleach and with that device that was left behind! read more

[1086] 2/2020 We stayed here since it's about 10 miles from Camelback and we were going skiing. The hotel is clean and nice with plenty of parking. Close to Main Street which is happening The hotel seems new so I'm hoping they are still updating. The shower had no shelf for my stuff and I really didn't want to put my bar of soap on the floor. Ew. No hook to hang my towel when I showered so I had to wet the floor when I finished. The room really needs a safe ..even a small one. The room was clean and updated. Really comfy as we got a good nights sleep. Wished the TV was a smart TV so I could hook to my iPad since I couldn't find anything to watch. Has a coffee machine and fridge but no microwave The room comes with a free breakfast in the lobby of which was tasty. The hotel does not have a store so we only had vending machine snack options. The first room I was assigned was definitely not cleaned even tho the desk told me it had been logged in as cleaned. Slept-in sheets, towels dropped on sink. The 2nd room was cleaned except for a definite black ring in the toilet. The breakfast was good, the coffee was plentiful and hot, the staff was friendly. the hotel itself was clean and inviting with very close proximity to town. My one request would be that the cleaning staff keep the volume down when servicing rooms. Granted, it was around noon but there was a lot of loud laughter and yelling back and forth in the hall that went on the entire time they were cleaning. I'm not against trying to make a tedious job more enjoyable but this seemed a bit excessive. Overall, it's a good place to stay. However, I think ALL the hotels in Stroudsburg are over priced. $265 a night is too much for the town's mediocre hotels. For that price, they could purchase new pillows! What probably elevates this more than others however are their renovations- definitely more upscale than typical Hampton Inns simply with their decor and color schemes. They also have digital keys available at this location. Stayed here last weekend on a last minute ski trip (which ended up getting rained out). Check in process was a breeze, and our room (430, end of hall, corner) was clean and had a little view of the McMichael Creek. Sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable but to be expected. Wish there were sheer curtains to cover the window in addition to given black out curtains to allow natural light in, but still have privacy. Also, the shower has only one curtain, which also doubles as the liner. We found that it was a bit leaky after 3 showers in rapid succession, so something for future guests to be aware of. Keyana and Nicole were professional and extremely helpful at the front desk. In fact, we accidentally left the kids swimsuits in the shower, and didn't realize until we are already on the road. I called the front desk, and Keyana was so very helpful in reaching out to Housekeeping, gathering the clothes, and having them ready at the front desk waiting for us. Housekeeping even found my daughter's vest, which was another item that we missed! During our stay, both of these ladies were so helpful with guiding us through the amenities available throughout the facility. Pool area was warm (felt at least 90°), but the pool water itself was a but chillier (75ish). Breakfast was standard omelettes, sausage, french toast, pastries, dry cereals, oatmeal, and make-your-own waffles; juice, milk, coffee, teas. For the price this hotel is very below the Hilton standards I have stayed in to become a Gold Member. I was allowed to check in early thanks to the young lady at the front desk this morning but was not greeted as a honors member at all. Now the problems: this hotel has no microwave in the room at least ours Hotel feels and looks outdated especially the gym with the leaking ceiling There was no sweet shop visible to purchase snacks/drinks only saw a couple of soda machines on the floors The refrigerators in the room did not get cold The carpet in the room was dirty as you can see spots and the bathroom was not cleaned well The doors have a gap where you can see light and the hallway The tv is a joke super small for 2022/the remote didn't work half the time There was no visible workstation with the standard desktop and printer Hilton usually offers in the hotels The hotel is tucked away in a residential neighborhood The evening shift the lady and the guy tonight we're to busy laughing and joking to acknowledge the guest Will probably skip breakfast in the morning due to how this hotel feels. Fresh baked cookies at the front desk My king size bed was cozy, nice size room and clean bathrooms. My one night made me want to stay another. They were totally booked so I drove home. The other inns do not compare. They were renovating during my stay. It was quiet and clean. If you've ever did a renovation you know that's impossible. It's very popular so book your trip in advance. #HAMPTON INN, Stroudsburg, PA Interestingly the hotel is situated in a quiet, safe neighborhood, yet still only a few minutes from the highway. To get to the highway you drive through a nice little downtown with Starbucks and other stores we took advantage of. The hotel itself was very comfortable and inviting. Friendly staff and very hospitable. The room was clean and spacious and nicely decorated. We were in room 135. The accessories worked well, TV, iron, fridge. The bathroom was large and very well-lit, lots of fresh-clean towels, and stocked with great Neutrogena products. Breakfast the next morning was great. Large selection of items and stocked continuously. Even with a large number of breakfast patrons there was plenty of room to eat and relaxing. We keep expensive equipment in our vehicle and felt extremely safe with it overnight. We definitely plan on visiting this Hampton Inn again when in the area. If you're thinking of staying here... DON'T! My husband and I stayed here in room 321. There was mold/mildew in the bathroom above the shower, a vent with no fan, there was dirt/crud all along the edges of the walls in the bathroom as well as what appeared to be dust and paint flecks on the floor under the vanity, there was a ring of crust around the top of the sink hidden by the lip of the counter, and house keeping left a towel from the previous client who stayed there hanging on the back of the bathroom door. As for the rest of the room there was dust, one of the lampshades looked like either coffee or soda was splattered on it, the bed skirt was ratty, there was chipping/peeling paint at the top of the closet door, there was nothing to cover the sides of the air conditioner/heating unit from where the original unit would of actually fit and there was mold/mildew on either side where the unit obviously was sweating in the summer, they also didn't give us a tag for on the door to let the staff know we had our dog with us in case house keeping or anyone doing repairs would of needed to come in for any reason. In the hallway of the 3rd floor there were multiple damaged celing tiles as well as discolored, warped, and peeling wall paper, despite no smoking signs there were still people vaping in the rooms and the hall would randomly smell like Marijuana at random times throughout the day and the soda vending machine was out of order. Both elevators had crud/dirt along the edges of the floor by the walls and in the grove where the doors closed, and one had a chipped tile in it. On the first floor where you get off the elevator to go to the lobby there are celing tiles with visible water damage, and there was a large stack of drywall sitting propped against the wall in the ice room. Going into the lobby all of the hand sanitizing stations had dirty footers and some even had filthy catchers for excess sanitizer like they were never cleaned, there was visible dust by doors/windows, and the ATM was out of order as well. The daytime staff was nice/personable but the evening staff spent most of their time on their phones sitting in the dining area and I felt as if I was inconveniensing the front desk clerk when I went to get a drink from the snack bar because he had to put his phone down to come over and put it in the computer on my room, the lobby also highly smelled of chlorine from the pool more than any kind of cleaner. Outside was littered with cigarette butts and at one point a staff member arguing with what could only be assumed to be their significant other sitting on the bench outside of the lobby. The only positive thing I can say about my stay is the dog waste station was well maintained and stocked with poo bags. If anyone from Hampton Inn's corporate office of the Hilton brand would like to contact me I have pictures to back all of this up I'm happy to share. read more

I'm not even sure how it is possible that this hotel operates under the Hampton/Hilton name. I have stayed in many, many Hampton Inns all over the country and I have never experienced anything quite like this. Obvious musty odor upon entry to room. In too much of a hurry to deal since I had a wedding to attend. So, I cranked the air in hopes of clearing out the humidity and smell and left. Returned after a long evening and the odor was even worse. Too tired to deal so I went to bed. Woke up with swollen lips and eyes. Wondering if there is a toxic mold going on in this room?! How anyone who enters this room could not notice the odor is unbelievable. There is a tiny fridge sitting on the floor in the corner of the room, bizarre in and of itself-perhaps that is the culprit? Breakfast is complimentary and usually pretty good. It was okay at this location, but there was not a seat to be had at 9 a.m. on Labor Day morning. If they get this room cleaned up, the location is great. read more

Our trip to PA started out very nice but after being out of our room for 11 hours we returned to find that our room had not been cleaned. We requested housekeeping when we checked in and they even knocked on our door to clean before we were leaving. Now I do understand that sometimes these things happen but when I spoke to the front desk manager to tell her how disatified I was she was not at all helpful. Quick Saturday night stay just 4 blocks from the Sherman Theater and close to downtown. Modern decor and well kept. Staff was all very nice and accommodating. There's some renovation going on (March 2019) but it was unnoticeable. Room was spacious and clean like other Hampton properties. Plenty of parking. Coffee and tea all day in the lobby. Overall, the usual Hampton Inn, but our bathroom hadn't been cleaned...lipstick on counter, hairs in sink, brown substance on floor. Yea. Nasty. But 10 hours of driving and kids just needed to sleep, so we did. Hilton Corp sent my complaint (made via app) to the property. Nothing. No response at all. Located in an easily accessible area, its situated within a somewhat residential area. This was my first time actually staying in the Poconos and I wanted to stay somewhere that was no fuss, clean and a great location. I received all of that and more from this gem of a hotel. There is ample free parking on the premises. Upon walking in, we were greeted with the biggest smiles ever by the front desk staff. I've stayed in 5 star hotels around the country and I've never felt more welcomed. There were fresh cookies at the desk, breakfast was included with our stay and check in was a breeze. The hotel is under renovation but it did not disturb our peace and even the workers were kind. I stayed on the 2nd floor. The room was clean, neat and new. The hotel has a wonderful pool and a fitness area. The lighting gives a calming effect throughout the hotel and the overall service makes it a hit. People are friendly, breakfast is good and place itself is quite, off the main St, you will see why, pool is indoor, so guests can enjoy it all year long. I stayed here for an overnight ski trip to Camelback, which is about a 15 minute drive away (with no traffic). Hampton Inn is Hilton's budget hotel line, but for the most part, they get all the details right. This is one of the few hotels in the area that has an indoor pool, which was why I picked it. The pool was clean and probably due to the time of the year, relatively unused. The room was clean and decently appointed and the appliances looked new. However the best thing about all of the Hampton Inn's I've been to (and I've been to a lot of them, probably 40 or so) is that they provide you real eggs instead of the powdered stuff or none at all. I always overeat the breakfast because the workers are always quick to replenish the stocks and they always have a good variety to choose from. It's my way of cutting down on my lunch bill for the day (unless it's a business lunch on someone else, then I only eat a waffle). I have to laugh at the complain of the location for an earlier review (Yeah, I'm looking at your Richard P.). The hotel is located a few blocks from downtown Stroudsbourg, which is set near the Poconos which is far removed from an urban center. What do you expect? You're there to get away from the crowds! I cannot say enough great things about my stay. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the most wonderful front desk clerk. I wish I had gotten her name because she should be the face of Hotel. Our room was clean and very comfortable. I only wish that we could have stayed longer. The food was great and hot. Lots of variety for breakfast. The coffee was fresh. I have to admit after reading the reviews I was kind of wary about staying here. I was attending a reception in the area and need a place to stay. Stupid me, I booked the room before checking reviews on yelp. I stressed about staying here but decided to try it out. Thank God I did. We checked in and the front desk person was super nice, quick and informative. Easy check, in no problems. We went up to our room and I hesitantly opened the door expecting to see a room from the Bates motel. Surprise! It was your typical hotel room. Clean, odor free and modern hotel room. I looked around dumbfound wondering if there was there a monster under the bed? Nope no hidden surprises. TV, refrig, climate control, bathroom all worked great. I slept fine in a big comfortable bed and woke up to a WONDERFUL breakfast that was included with my stay. Sausage, potatoes, ham and cheese bagel sandwiches, waffles, oatmeal with all the toppings, yogurt, pastries, fruit and a nice variety of cereals. The coffee was good+, regular, robust, decaf and tea. So I sat at a nice clean table watched a modern day flat screen TV while I ate my wonderful breakfast. I went back for seconds of the oatmeal. Just let me add real quick there were a variety of toppings for the oatmeal; nuts, brown sugar and raisins. The staff was great, friendly and efficient. The woman in charge of the breakfast buffet kept the entire area super clean and was also attentive to what was going on in her area. The front desk staff was quick and friendly. If you need a place to stay in the Stroudsburg area I would highly recommend this hotel. The price was reasonable and I was able to secure a discount so I was really happy with my stay here. We stayed at this Hampton while snowboarding at Shawnee. It's pretty quiet, not much going on around town...and that's ok. The front desk staff was very helpful when we were trying to find something to do, other than hit the slopes. There's an indoor pool. It isn't too far from Shawnee (if that's where you're going). I think Camelback is also around that area. There's a Perkins down the road and WAWA!!! Plenty of free parking and complimentary breakfast. read more
