Steak Meal

I attended this spot for a wedding. It was an old mill from hundreds of years ago that was transformed into a bed and breakfast along with a large space for ceremonies and events. There was an outdoor area during the cocktail hour with a bar and several tables to sit at. The cocktail hour was a little tight given the number of people and the tight constraints. The actual location for where the main event was spacious and much better. For cocktail hour, there were numerous stations including different types of sliders, a pasta bar, taco bar, etc. There were also pass around apps too. My favorite was definitely the pork belly and quail egg. It was a great combination. The burger and chicken cutlet sliders were tasty and the cheese ravioli with vodka sauce was decent. The ravioli was very large though. The taco had a large amount of fixings available too. The salad course was a mixed field greens with poached pears, dried cranberries, carrot shaves, goat cheese, and candied walnuts in a honey Dijon balsamic vinaigrette. It was a little skimpy, but decent overall. I went with the grilled filet mignon that was served with a dark port wine reduction sauce. I do not think it was actually filet mignon, but more of a tenderloin cut of meat. It was cooked to an ideal temperature of medium rare and the wine reduction sauce complimented it nicely. The vegetables that were on the plate were not nearly cooked enough, however. Will I go back? Sure.

Our bartender said they've just reopened after a 2 year hiatus so I will overlook the disorganization. The drinks came out at all different times. My friends were done with drinks before I even got my glass of wine. How hard is it to pour a glass of wine? One of our flatbreads were incorrect. We ordered two of the Pear & Prosciutto but one came with figs. When we asked about it, our server said the chef said he made the same two Flatbreads. There was a little back & forth so I had to point out the figs and showed that figs weren't anywhere in the menu at all! She DID eventually replace it but by that time, everyone else's food was cold. Not that we were looking for any but there was no compensation for the inconvenience at all. Also, prices were high. Although it was tasty, $13 for that skinny 3" x 8" Flatbread was a high. $8 for the wine. Ambiance was nice & cozy with a huge fireplace.

Country sophistication at its best. Enjoy the tranquil open setting of this historic flour mill turned in to restaurant. The mill, built In 1770, supplied George Washington with flour during the war. The menu is gourmet, with excellent depth and variation. Food is delicately prepared from scratch exhibiting harmonic notes of perfect flavor and texture. Specials are offered complicating the guests decision making process. In the end, every dish is 5 star quality. Celebrate and enjoy that special occasion here with confidence of having a great meal.

Have your wedding here! We had the most lovely, cozy, beautiful and easy wedding here in May. My mother took over all planning and she loved working w the inn (Taylor), tavern (Brett), caterers (Dawn-Frungillo Caterers) and on site florist (Peggy). Our guests had so much fun and loved the venue. We all called it "the compound." Def rent out the entire Inn for the wkd (17 rooms) and have your close family and friends there. We had a rehearsal dinner in the "meeting house," fires both nights and after party at the tavern. Food was delicious. Beds comfortable. Decor quaint. And can't bet the natural setting.

Amazing weekend wedding with family. We all stayed at the inn. Do not recommend for kids or anyone having hard time walking.

They even had a live singer performing, which added a great vibe to the visit. We shared a pizza while doing our tasting, and it paired nicely with the wines. The wines were good overall, though not quite enough for us to buy a bottle. One of the wines seemed like it was starting to turn, but the rest were enjoyable. Despite that, we still had a lovely time. It's a cute stop if you're passing through and want to unwind with some music, food, and a laidback winery experience.

I made table reservations online for $20 (you get to choose a 3 hour block of time) -- and while it probably wasn't necessary the day we went, if the weather is warmer on a weekend, I'm guessing you'll need it! Minimal food available for purchase, but you can do tastings, flights, wine by the glass or bottles and are allowed to bring outside food and decorations (just not outside alcohol). Price point is reasonable, and we enjoyed a bottle of Cayuga white while overlooking the vines and fields. Peaceful venue, not fancy and kid friendly (which was a plus for us) and we appreciated being allowed to relax and enjoy the fresh air and wine! My husband enjoyed the red flight -- and while not the kind of wine that will knock your socks off, it's an unpretentious place and perfect for enjoying with loved ones.

From start to finish everything went smoothly thanks to the amazing team especially Te'Niijah and A'tasia. The space itself was beautiful modern and spacious with a great layout that worked perfectly for our event. One of the things we really appreciated was that they provided tables and chairs which made planning so much easier. It's a great setup and the venue is very well maintained. Te'Niijah and A'tasia were an absolute dream to work with. They were professional friendly and always accessible whenever we had questions. They offered helpful recommendations and made us feel supported throughout the planning process. You can tell they genuinely care about making your event special and stress free. On the day of the shower everything went off without a hitch. We were able to enjoy ourselves and be present with our guests while knowing that everything behind the scenes was being handled. We're already looking forward to rebooking The Loft Montclair for future events. Huge thanks and major kudos to Te'Niijah and A'tasia for their incredible work collaborating with us, and our vendors. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue and team to anyone planning a special celebration.

Every single cup stank, some of the utensils had random dirty spots and the plates stank. That made me want just to eat what wasn't on the plates and I tried to eat things that didn't require utensils and got the foam cups at the entrance to the dinning room. The gym was nice and also the swings, I didn't want to swim because there were rumors of a lot of people spitting, farting, and peeing in the water. I hope they add more things to do I also loved the snack bar and they weren't trying to scam with their prices. I hope that next time they scrub everything more thoroughly so I don't have to eat with a fork that has random white spots on it or drink with a cup that has a random black thing and orange thing in it.

If you're into sports hobbies and leisure and not so into God maybe you'll find him here. But if not please don't leave a bad review based on the amenities. The amenities are just fine if you want a cheap Christian getaway. But if you're looking for luxury this really isn't the place for you. It's more about spirit than luxury. The $$$ on the review is not accurate. When I was a kid it was $100 for a kid to attend a weekend retreat from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. This included a two night stay and all meals and activities. That was thirty years ago. Since then the deal remains the same but the price has only gone up $20. Which doesn't even account for inflation. That is because this place is a MINISTRY first. Aside from all of the wonderful amenities and the things to do like the pool the game room the basketball courts and tennis courts and the beautiful views of the river, there is also the spiritual aspect of the retreat which is so sorely needed among gods people in this very evil time. It's a good place to get a break from the world, regroup, refocus, and rededicate. Come here for the refreshing of the Holy Spirit. Come here to be sharpened as iron sharpens iron. Come here to meet new likeminded Christians who take their faith seriously. Come here to go home with renewed purpose and dedication. Come here to find Jesus. Please pray for this place that they remainn that way, that the leadership would focus on ministry, that they would not allow money to ever become the focus, that they would continue to walk by faith and that the leadership would continue to follow Christ. That they would be divinely directed to hire only sincere Christians and not hire based on appearances or resume but according The holy spirits direction. Also that the Holy Spirit would guide them in who they choose for speakers and activities and what they would allow in the bookstore. Blessings.
